It is so great to have a Burmese restaurant in Folsom! The owner and staff are so friendly. They answered questions about allergies when I called in an order. There is plenty of parking available. I ordered food to go but the dining room was well decorated and inviting. The garlic noodles with chicken were tasty. We all loved the fried calamari and I would order the sauce it comes with by itself! The sauce was spicy, sour and so delicious! We will be back!
This was my first time eating here and the food was good but not spectacular. The tea leaf salad was tasty, but I've had better at other restaurants. The Minted Jalapeno Chicken was tasty, however there was not a lot of mint. The portion was very generous with lots of chicken. The Burmese Garlic Noodles did not contain as much garlic as I would expect. The Burmese Garlic Noodles included a very small side of spicy pickled vegetables which complimented the dish well. Service was excellent as employees were friendly and helpful.
I have drive past this restaurant many times and had to come back to give it a try, We had three of us for dinner all that like different levels of heat, We were so happy when they were able to adjust wash item to meet our spice levels Everything looked to good, we decided on a few items with the help of our server. Plenty of parking and an easy location to find. The inside is very spacious and nicely decorated.
If you're in Folsom and haven't tried Burma Lite yet, you're seriously missing out. This place has become my go-to, and for good reason. The food is consistently amazing and packed with flavor. The tea leaf salad is a must. Super fresh, crunchy, and unlike anything else around here. The basil chili lamb brings the perfect balance of heat and flavor, and the eggplant is cooked perfectly every time. The sesame chicken is crispy and flavorful. It and the coconut rice balanced the spiciness of the lamb and eggplant perfectly. My wife likes to wash it down with a blue moon. I believe the traditional Burmese beer is similar. Everything I've had here has been solid, and you can tell they actually care about the quality of their food. If you're looking for something different from the usual spots in Folsom, definitely give Burma Lite a try. You won't regret it.
Wowsers, I was not prepared for how amazing this place would be!!!! Hands down the best Thai/Burmese food I've ever eaten and Thai is one of my absolute favorites. I got the Lemongrass Chicken with the coconut rice ($1 upgrade at time of review). Totally mind blowing. I will be dreaming of this dish for a while! The coconut rice is perfection too. The spice level (I picked medium) was just right! I like it spicy but not so spicy I can't enjoy it. Dining partner got the pad Thai with shrimp and loved it too. Great service and good bathrooms. I cannot recommend enough!
I stopped into Burma Light to pick up some take-out, I have heard great things from other Yelpers and I ended up ordering some of the most popular items according to the Yelp reviews. I placed my order online for pick-up and got the Burmese Garlic Noodle ($13), the Burmese Pad Thai ($13) and the Tea Leaf Salad ($16). Everything was ready and well packed when I stopped in and the restaurant is clean, open and welcoming. Their staff member greeted me right away and asked if I needed plastic cutlery, but since I was taking it home I was all good. Once I arrived home I unpacked everything and it was all thoughtfully packed. They use the nice plastic, microwavable containers and they were PACKED with food. You definitely receive a generous portion for the noodle dishes. The salad was packed in a paper box with the dressing and the toppings in their own plastic containers. I ended up throwing everything in a large mixing bowl in order to get it properly mixed and make sure there was dressing and nuts in every bite. While I'm not 100% sure why this salad is more expensive than the noodle dishes, I will say it was my favorite of the three. I can tell why it's the top dish listed on Yelp. It was flavorful, filling, and had a good variety of textures with the greens, nuts, toppings, and dressing. I would order this every time. The Burmese Pad Thai was very tasty too. I ordered mine with tofu and the pieces were cut into strips. I personally prefer tofu cubes but these pressed strips held up really well and it was a nice change from what I'm used to. This was my first time trying Burmese food as well so it was fun seeing how these flavors differ from the Thai version I'm used to. The Garlic noodles were my least favorite of the three dishes. The noodles have a great texture but I don't think I'm a fan of the sauce. Definitely a personal preference, since this is one of their top dishes. I would definitely come in again to try more options from the menu. I'd love to try one of their curries, and I'd definitely order the Tea Leaf Salad again.
Overview: We've been coming here ever since they opened, about 3 years. They never disappoint. If you haven't been already, it's a medium-sized restaurant run by a local owner, with a clean interior and nice decor. They have a prime location on East Bidwell so you've probably seen it. The food: You can tell that every dish is intentional. The tea leaf salad is their star dish, with crispy garlic and peanuts adding some nice texture and flavor variety to the salad. Many of their dishes follow the layout of a Thai restaurant, with noodle classics and your choice of protein. However, Burma Light brings new and unexpected flavors to these dishes that make them stand apart. The service: Kind, attentive, and available My grandma: My extremely judgmental and picky Thai grandma approves of this place. Enough said.
I love Asian and Indian cuisines. I've had Burmese cuisine and loved fermented tea leaf salad. Burma Light makes a good tea leaf salad. I prefer the jalapeño to be diced and small so I didn't eat all of them. And my fav tea leaf salad will likely continue to be found at a certain Davis, CA eatery. But this restaurant is closer and still offers a good salad. Salt & pepper calamari was delicious with green onions and jalapeño with a tasty sweet dipping sauce. The mixed vegetables curry is fantastic, too. I confirmed I love okra and now like eggplant as long as it's not the star of the dish. Jasmine rice was fine. Parking was very easy (across Bidwell from Taco Express). Service was good. Man taking my phone order answered quickly and was helpful. Woman greeted me quickly and handed me my take-out which was nicely packaged. It was prepared in just 10 minutes. I'll return again sometime.
A little bit of a drive from Sacramento; but sooo worth it! To begin, there's plenty of parking. It's located inside a shopping plaza. They have indoor and patio dining options. Our waiter was a tad bit odd, to say the least. Not very welcoming, nor responsive, and very short with responses. Definitely could use some improvement on customer service. However, the women who worked there were super kind. Ok the important part-- food! We started with the mango salad, and 10/10 probably my favorite dish of the evening. It reminded me of the tomato salad from Burma Love in SF. I love that restaurant, so this is the next best thing. The salad is umami, tart, yet savory all at the same time! It's light, but also fulfilling. Samosas are okay at best, I've had better. They're really big and great for sharing, 6/10! And the plata was very coconutty, if you're into coconut curry, 6/10. Onto the entrees! Everything is portioned so big, definitely could be served family style! Burmese Garlic Noodles 7/10, I added shrimp. The noodles are chewy, and have good texture. The shrimp was also so fresh and buttery, yum!! The Pad Thai with chicken was honestly my favorite of the dishes, the noodles are different than other restaurants. They were bouncy and chewy. I really liked that the noodles weren't stuck together, 10/10. The Chicken Briyani was very fragrant and the chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender, 7/10. The Beef Tofu wasn't my cup of tea, probably because it was too salty for my liking, but my brother enjoyed it 5/10! Overall, I'd come back again! My family and I agreed we'd have a better experience with a different server, but that's okay. As we cleaned up after ourselves while waiting for the bill, there was a sweet lady (maybe the owner? middle aged? Asian?), who came by to check in. We offered feedback and she was so kind. :)
The food was amazing! We ordered the Tea Leaf Salad, Dry Chicken Curry, Black Pepper Tofu and Nan-Gyi-Dok. My favorite was the Nan-Gyi-Dok, this was the first time I have had it. I loved the noodles on this dish. The restaurant is small and nicely decorated. It was very clean. And the service was top notch. We placed an online order and within 10 minutes it was done! I highly recommend this place.
First time I went with my friends and this time I took my husband for a treat! Service is super quick and food quality is excellent! I ordered Mango chicken after reading the reviews, and I am glad I did! Super delicious! Ordered same food to go for our daughter and dropped it off at her place just so she could also taste all the yumminess.

So glad we decided to check this lovely place out! The place was packed and we were greeted by a very friendly host. The menu is full of veggie options, so many it was hard to decide! It was my first time trying Burmese food, and wow, it exceeded my expectations! I'm not even sure how to describe Burmese food. It was like a fusion of Thai-Chinese-Indian flavors. I'm glad we were a big group to be able to try multiple dishes and shared everything family style! Service was amazing. We ordered so much food, and it all came out so quickly. Top 3 favorites = Palata with Lamb Curry, Garlic Shrimp & Eggplant, and Coconut Fried Pudding! Burmese Ice Tea. I liked it! Waitress was nice to give a small sample to try before ordering it. It reminded me of a lighter, less sweet Thai Ice Tea. I wish there were a way to make it non-dairy. Salt & Pepper Calamari. Light, crispy, and not too greasy. Comes with a sweet & sour chili sauce that was good. Palata with Lamb Curry. This was my favorite! The palata was a nice chewy with a bite texture and reminded me of a non-greasy scallion pancake. The Lamb Curry was absolutely flavorful, tender, and delicious. I want to order that as a full entree next time! Burma String Beans. Was okay, sauce was good, nothing special. Tea Leaf Salad. Yum peanutty crunch with a kick. Burmese Garlic Noodle with Tofu. Must add the sauce it came with! Sauce was a bit spicy but necessary otherwise it is too bland. Black Pepper Chicken. Basil & Dried Chili Beef. Both of these were okay but outshined by the other dishes imo. The Beef was a bit on the too chewy rubbery side. Garlic Shrimp & Eggplant. Super yum! A lot more eggplant than shrimp served, but it was really good. I liked that the eggplant was not soggy. Makes me want to try the Eggplant Curry next time. Coconut Fried Pudding. Perfect dessert. I loved the fried whatever it was, haha. Didn't really taste any coconut, but it didn't matter because it just tasted so good. It paired very well with vanilla ice cream and strawberries. Thanks if you actually read all of that, haha. All the flavors were new to me but at the same time were familiar, if that makes any sense. I def recommend giving Burma Light a try. I visited Burma Light on Tuesday, 4/9/24, at noon for lunch. I was elated to stop by, as I had never tried Burmese food before. I decided to order the Burmese Style Chicken Curry (spice level: medium) with a side of Jasmine Rice and the Burmese Garlic Noodles (plain). Both dishes were extremely flavorful and palatable. I enjoyed everything from start to finish. What I appreciated was that the food came out quickly, too. The customer service was impeccably phenomenal. My server during the visit was Helen. She was super pleasant, kind, and attentive. My overall dining experience was positive because of her hospitality. The inside of the restaurant was gorgeous. I adored all of the wonderful decorations reminiscent of Burma. The restaurant was very clean and modern. Burma Light serves delectable Burmese food. The serving staff is friendly as well. I am glad that I've discovered this restaurant. Undoubtedly, I will be returning here whenever I am in the area. read more

I've had been wanting to try this place because of what I've heard and it lived up to expectations. We ordered a lot of different dishes and they were all good. We started off with the tea leaf salad which is a staple. The palata with lamb curry was one of my faves. I was also pleasantly surprised by the calamari. It was light and crispy. Modern casual decor in the old Smashburger space with 18 tables and booths. They do have a Smalll wine selection if you'd like to partake with your meal. We opted for Jasmine tea but you have to order tea in individual cups. We ordered from the lunch menu which is served with mango salad. Samosa (Vegab) - 8 Thin crust, seasoned and fluffy potatoes with peas and a slightly spiced red sauce. Minted Jalapeno Chicken - 9 - Reminiscent of Thai Basil but 99% chicken with bits of mint and jalapeño. Some chili oil residue in the plate means it is likely added to modify spice level. Flavorful, spicy and delicious! Burmese Styke Chicken Curry -6 - Fish oil is predominate in each bite which I didn't enjoy. Coconut Rice - 10 So delicious but a bit sweet so I'm not sure what dish to pair it with. Burmese Indian Rice - 7 An incredible amount of flavors in this innocent looking rice. Mango Salad - 8 - surprisingly delicious as we expected fruit but it was salad with wonderful mango dressing. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and loved that the Plastic containers for leftovers came with a lid for curry and separate containers for rice and chicken. How perfect to avoid spills! I really liked that You pay via the Toast app by scanning the receipt. That is awesome when you need to leave in a hurry! Pretty good food even though we couldn't find Momos on the menu. Brought my mom here for lunch last week and enjoyed the entire experience! A friend of mine Eileen highly recommended Burma Light and I'm so grateful she did! As she was describing the Tea leaf salad I was already hooked and knew I had to visit! The atmosphere is beautiful and the service friendly and welcome. The decorations eye pleasing and the plated dishes are presented in a beautiful manner! When placing the order I asked about the Tea leaf salad and our waitress said how this salad is very popular and loved! My taste buds were surely doing the joyful dance with new exciting and scrumptious tastes! Never enjoyed tea leaves in a salad before and I am surely going to return! Mom ordered the beef with veggies and I also ordered a veggie curry with eggplant. There were plenty of left overs with the generous portions to enjoy for a second meal at home! This newly opened Burmese restaurant in Folsom features traditional dishes of Myanmar (the Asian country formerly known as Burma). If you are unfamiliar with Burmese cuisine, you can usually expect full-flavored dishes - even with their rice dishes - and the presentation is always impressive. It has strong culinary influences from the countries that surround its borders, including India, Bangladesh, China, Laos, and Thailand. Burma Light prominently features many of its country's traditional dishes like curries, very distinct salads, and soups that are usually eaten with rice. The curries - thicker and more intense than Thai versions - and many dishes featuring Indian breads like naan and samosas, in addition to the preponderance of lamb and lentils showcase the heavy influence of Indian and Indo-Chinese foods. To my surprise, however, it was how strong and distinct the flavors of Burmese cuisine are and the use of local vegetables (roselle leaves, tea leaves, pennywort leaves) and soya beans, which are not often eaten in its neighboring countries, which made the biggest impression with me. Admittedly, not all the dishes we tried were a homerun and the pungency of the pickled tea leaves and fermented soya beans in the salads, stir-fries, and meat dishes is an acquired taste. The noodle dishes, whether fried or dry, were excellent. The chicken dishes we tried were all amazing. My Best Bets: Garlic Noodle with Shrimp, Palata, Stir-Fried Butter Noodle, Basil & Dried Chili Beef, Chicken Wings Dining at Burma Light, be prepared to be surprised by how distinct, pronounced, and varied Burmese cuisine is and how many dishes there are on its menu. 12/16/23 Burma Light took over the Vons Korean fried chicken location in Folsom. I've been wanting to take the family to come try Burma Light. We came in at around 3:30 on a Saturday and had the place to ourselves. My oldest son wanted to start with Palata and Lamb Curry. This was just ok. We ordered the Tea Leaf Salad and much is unique to Burma restaurants and usually a must try. It was a tad heavy on the garlic today but good. Husband ordered the Basil Chili Chicken medium spice and he liked it. My youngest ordered the Shrimp Fried Rice comes w/fish roe, only had 4 shrimps, but the fish roe mixed in great. I ordered the Ginger Sea Bass. This was a good portion and cooked to perfection. Be careful of bones. Overall good option added to the area. There is ample parking in this plaza. We had an early dinner with our friends on Sunday night. The restaurant is spacious and the server and the owner were very friendly. Our server checked on us multiple times. I asked the owner who took our order whether the pad thai was spicy and he replied no. However, when the pad thai came, it was spicy and he was very generous to take it off from our bill (we later added garlic noodle to our order for the kids). - tea leaf salad: the salad was delicious and tasted authentic. The sauce had very bold flavor and super garlicky- which I like. - pad thai with chicken: it's mild spicy and delicious! The flavor was deep. The noodles were well cooked and there were lots of chicken pieces. - Burmese chicken curry: it was good. The chicken pieces were tender and flavorful. But not our favorite. - beef dry chili: delicious! The beef pieces were tender and well seasoned. The sauce was delicious! The portion was quite generous too. - butter noodle: good. Party of 3 came for early dinner on a Friday and was quickly seated. We ordered the tea leaf salad (slightly too much dressing for our tastes), paratha with lamb curry (lamb was so tender!), chicken curry (chicken so moist), ginger fish, and lobster fried rice. We also got the Burmese tea which tasted like Thai tea mixed with milk tea. We loved the curry dishes as they both were very fragrant and the meat melted in our mouths. Everything came out so quick and service was excellent!Since the restaurant is new, everything is clean and seats are comfy. This is a great addition to the area and we can't wait to come back to try other dishes. read more

My first time trying Burmese food and I did so much research on it before I decided to come. It's a mixture of Laos, Thai, Indian and Chinese food. It makes sense because Myanmar is bordered by all those places. The Burmese iced tea reminded me of Hong Kong Milk Tea- so delicious!!! Indian rice- so flavorful with all of the spices in it. There is cardamom of some don't like that taste. Garlic shrimp eggplant- I love eggplant! It was delicious. Lots of spices to it. Burmese style chicken curry. It is nothing like Thai or Indian curry. It tastes like an inbetween. It is savory. Not coconut milk. Not sweet. Not vegetables in it? So glad we got the eggplant. We ordered everything medium and it's not spicy at all. Will order the tea leaf salad next time! Customer service was beyond my expectations. They were all so hospitable and we could clearly see that it was genuine. Such a clean restaurant. The restroom was so clean, everyone came up to make sure we were okay and came to ask if we had any questions on the menu, as well as giving recommendations. Nice restaurant with pleasant and clean atmosphere. Service was prompt and pleasant. Every dish was presented in a beautiful manner. The good was of great quality and served fresh from the kitchen. There are plenty of things to on the menu. I highly recommend the tea leaf salad. But everything was delicious. Highly recommend. If you haven't tried Burmese food, and you like carefully prepared quality food, this restaurant is truly worth your time. There are levels of heat to choose from as well as a double sided menu: something for everyone! If you are new to Burmese food, staff is very friendly and helpful in making recommendations! Enjoy!! It was sad to see Von's Chicken go but I see the light, BURMA LIGHT! They have been open since 10/27 so just over a month and I have become their regulars! Due to my recent no sugar diet for health concerns, my current go to are papaya salad, Burmese lamb curry, pumpkin veggie curry and dry veggie curry. Their basil beef was good as well. I'd like more spice for jalapeño chicken however. We also had their salt and pepper tofu with perfectly done crunchy outside and soft tofu inside but wished it had more salt and pepper. That's coming from mister light palate over here, haha! Their coconut rice is amazing if you like sweet flavor. Indian rice is also great with flavor. I do wish they have brown rice option for people like me. There palata is the usual roti paratha but with multiple curry dip options! Burmese food to me is as if Indian food and Thai food had a baby. They have similar offerings with spice and heat level just one to two notches down from traditional Thai and Indian cuisine. It strikes a perfect balance between the two for a more enjoyable flavor overall. I personally eat on the lighter side and it suits me perfectly! If you are used to the spicy levels of Thai and Indian food, be sure to go one to two spice level more here. Great dining atmosphere loving the new layout and decor; I don't know fengshui but I think they nailed it! Service is fast, the owner and servers are nice and courteous. They even have lunch menu now that includes rice and salad of the day to round out your meal! Yelp elite tip for the frugal: Nowadays, you can't escape eating out without shelling $15-20 plus tip! I had my first Burmese food experience when I visited my friends in the Bay a few years back. There aren't a lot of Burmese restaurants in the central valley (that I know of). So when I heard about Burma Light, I was more than excited to go. Though it doesn't say they take reservations, you can still call and they'll save a table for you. This is handy for when they get busy and they do get quite busy. My family and I got there around the start of dinnertime and there were still a lot of tables open. We beat the rush hour! For our family of 6, we ordered quite a few things. Appetizers: Samosa - 4 large pieces, crispy and vegan. Comes with a side house sauce. House sauce isn't spicy, a bit of tang and sweetness (subtle). Very tasty, highly recommend get 2 plates. Palata w/ chicken coconut curry - Flatbread with curry. Tasty although there were some bones in the curry, be careful when eating. This could be my full meal and I'd be content. Main dishes Burmese Garlic Noodle w/ shrimp - Different choices of meat to choose from but we chose garlic. Noodles were cooked to perfection, tasty with fresh green onions, cucumbers, and we got it mild to suit everyone's spice level. I'd get this medium to spicy. Shrimp was plump, and juicy. Not overly cooked, just right. Ohn-No-Khao-Swe soup - Don't ask me to pronounce it, I just pointed to the menu. Coconut curry like soup with chicken, thick noodles, vegetables, lemon, wonton strips and spicy pepper on the side. Also another one of my favorites, creamy with a bit of spice and a nice zest of squeezed lemon. Lots of flavors and textures. Eat this fast because the noodles will absorb the broth and bloat them. Tea leaf salad - A signature well known Burmese salad. Good but way too salty for us, lots of garlic in this. Not a whole lot of tang either. Was most excited for this but the saltiness was overpowering. Lobster fried rice - Good, and they add fish roe to the rice. Lobster tail were a bit overly cooked so they were stuck to the shell and hard to remove. I'd still order this again. Ginger sea bass - Best dish of the night!! 2 large fillets of sea bass. I was pleasantly surprised because this had so much flavor, perfectly balanced and fish was cooked just right. Soft and melts in your mouth. Watch out for bones! Highly recommend ordering this if you're unsure what to get. Lemongrass tofu - Mixed veggies and tofu, great vegetarian dish and goes well with rice. If you order coconut rice, I think it would be really good but we didn't. Next time. Beef kebat - Tri trip stir fried with a variety of vegetables. Meat was tender and not chewy. Also a hit for the night! Water - My taste buds didn't deceive me. Their water is infused with cucumber. Very refreshing especially when eating spicy food. Overall, I loved what we ordered. Slightly disappointed with the tea leaf salad due to being too salty. We didn't save enough room in our bellies for dessert but that will be for next time. A Burmese restaurant in Folsom is pretty special, so I had to make my way there pronto to check it out. Decor is nice and I do recognize the structural bones of the old Smashburger that I had many a good lunches there. They did a nice job making it look like an authentic Burmese restaurant. The servers were incredibly nice and friendly, which I really appreciated. They really made me feel welcome! I had a chance to try the Burmese style curry lamb and the curry chicken as well, and they were both solid picks. I would love to try all the other items as well, so definitely will be back. The only downside is the prices are on the high side for lunch and rice is not included. So I ended up spending about double what I normally spend for lunch in Folsom. [DAD JOKE TIME] When you go to Burma Light, you also experience Wallet Light. read more

I was looking forward to eat some Burmese food and glad that there is a new spot in Folsom. I ordered a chicken biryani, a burmese garlic noodle with shrimp and a palata (flaky bread) with chicken curry. I'll start with the positives: modern interior, real dishes with substantial utensils and cloth napkins, friendly hostess, ice water was regularly refilled and food was served in a timely manner. The chicken biryani dish was served somewhat lukewarm in temperature.The outside meat of the chicken was warm but the meat closest to the bone was room temperature. The rice that came with the chicken was also room temperature so it was hard to the mouthfeel-if you eat and make rice, you know what I'm talking about! The garlic noodle was kind of bland, but the sweet and spicy dipping sauce saved the dish. Amazing tea leaf salad! The combination of spices and other ingredients were phenomenal! We also had the palata bread with coconut chicken curry sauce to dip in. Big chunks of chicken too! We will certainly be back!!! Fantastic service and nice ambiance too! read more

Bravo, absolutely delicious and I'm so glad to have a restaurant like this in Folsom. Such a refreshing and different type of place to have amongst a sea of very same-y restaurants in Folsom. Interior is spacious and clean. Service was friendly and wonderful. The food was fantastic! Dare I say my favorite restaurant in Folsom and Burmese food has easily become my favorite type of food now. The samosas were so delicious I wanted to order more. The fried rice tasted authentic with that true wok cooked fried rice vibe. Every single dish I ordered was so delicious and unique. Their menu is extensive and describes everything very well. All my orders came out not too salty but full of flavor and complex taste explosions. I don't know how else to describe it. I just know that everyone should try this place. Highly highly recommend checking them out if you are in the mood to have something different. I'll enthusiastically be going back. read more

WOW!!! I am absolutely impressed at how friendly and FAST the service is. We walked in, got seated immediately, waitress took our drinks order, I knew the appetizers I wanted to try, and it all came out in 5 minutes! We didn't even look at the menu for our main courses yet! We were very impressed. From the hostess to our waitresses, everyone was attentive, smiley and seemed to really enjoy serving. The ambiance was warm, welcoming and family oriented. Not too large of a place, intimate. Now to the food: Appetizers: Palata 5/5- Delicious! We got it with the chicken curry. Buttery and flaky on the outside, slightly chewy inside paratha, similar to roti/naan. The chicken curry is SO GOOD!!! It's a light curry flavor with a buttery, nutty background. It was so good, I ate it with a spoon after we ran out of the paratha :) Salt & Pepper Calamari 3/5- Great texture, very gentle flavors, the crispy outside and soft inside was perfect, but the flavor wasn't flavorful enough for me. It needs more salt & pepper! Tea Leaf Salad 5/5- Savory, garlicky and citrusy with soft nutty notes and beautiful textures. This dish alone is 5 stars! Entrees: Basil & Dried Chili Beef 5/5- Great flavor! The onions, basil, garlic, black pepper beef was all a great marriage. I could it it on rice, in a sandwich, or pasta! Garlic Shrimp & Eggplant 5/5- If you like soft melt in your mouth eggplant that soaks up flavor you will love this dish. It's garlicky & savory with large shrimp, I will get it again! Dry Curry Chicken 3/5- It was very good, just doesn't compare to the bowl of Burmese chicken curry that came with the Palata appetizer. I would swap this for that next time! Fried Rice 3/5- Tastes exactly how fried rice should taste, freshly made with good chunks of scrambled eggs, there's just no wow factor. Simple good fried rice. Drink: Burma Iced Tea, lightly sweet and milky, refreshing and not overly sweet at all. Perfect to eat with the meal! read more

First time trying Burmese food, but had heard great things about Burma Light. Started off with a fresh cold baby coconut water, so refreshing! And so tender. We tried the tea leaf, it's a mix of lettuce and cabbage with raw peanuts, sesame seeds, fresh jalapeños, and spices. We also had the basil and chili chicken, it was a taste I wasn't expecting but good, on the side we had coconut rice, tofu pad Thai. The restaurant was very clean and neat, our server was kind, friendly and when we were deciding on the chili and basil chicken she said it was good and recommended we try it. One other thing I appreciated was that once I finished the coconut water they opened the coconut for me to enjoy it. Delicious! Definitely adding Burma Light to our go to's in Folsom! read more

The ginger salad is the best salad I've had all year anywhere in Sacramento! Bright and nutty with a great amount of crunch. If coming here for two, I recommend making one of the salads your main entre and a protein to share. Four stars because I had their pumpkin chicken curry and it was lacking chicken with mild flavor. My partner got the Sichuan beef, which I recommend. A lot of beef and robust flavor. I didn't enjoy the raw onions with it, though. read more
