Brought my mom and son here for their birthdays and they loved it. We usually go to a place in Fullerton which is closer to home but it is always packed. I have had this place on my bookmarks for awhile so got the courage to try out something new. We went on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. It is about $27 per person and you can scan the QR code to start ordering your meats. They also have a self serve salad bar that has all your fixins for your salad, rice paper, steamed rice, japchae, and different flavors of bulgogi and teriyaki chicken. So many choices. We ended up ordering their brisket, short ribs, beef belly, and tried the bulgogi and teriyaki. Everything was delicious. The meat was fresh and had a perfect marble to it. Our waiter was quick to bring us more food and to refill our water. We sat closest to the windows and I must say, when the sun shines though it can get pretty hot in there. The salt was hard as if it been sitting there all day. Even the scissors to cut the meat were dirty and had visible residue. My best friends and I first went here around 3 years ago when it was under a different name. The quality of their meats are super good as well as the sides and sauces. They play a variety of music with their main genre being electronic music which I really enjoy. If you don't enjoy that music, don't fret it is not loud enough to bother you. You are able to talk to each and hear yourselves but once you both become silent, that is when you're able to hear the music. They typically are very attentive and pass by when you're about to finish your order to take your next order. Overall I recommend this place to everyone. Friends, family, and strangers included. Great place to get KBBQ; the restaurant is very spacious and it's a rather calm and peaceful place compared to other KBBQ restaurants that are more noisy and busy. It's more of a lowkey spot which I really like because there isn't much of a wait and you don't have to scream to hear each other. There is a self-serve bar for veggies, sides, and some meats, while more high-quality meats come out by order. The pricing is reasonable and actually a lot cheaper than some other places while having a great variety of meats to choose from. Even the premium menu is a better price than most other restaurants. My favorite is the beef tongue which is always so delicious. The service is quite good as they check in quite often for grill changes and any requests. This might be my favorite KBBQ spot near me because of the chill atmosphere and the low price for high quality meats, and I definitely always recommend this place for anyone looking for affordable but delicious KBBQ! I honestly hate being "that person" who leaves a one-star review, especially when a place has decent ratings, but this was hands down the worst KBBQ experience I've ever had. Not only was the restaurant noticeably dirty, but I am currently writing this feeling physically sick to my stomach. We came in today (07/16/26) between 5:15 PM and 5:45 PM, and yes, we didn't even last 30 minutes because the environment was so hostile. The older lady working during this shift was shockingly, unbelievably rude to my husband and me. The second we walked in, she was yelling and pointing at the table she wanted us to sit at. I understand people have bad days, but she was a straight-up nightmare to us and to every other table she touched. She was practically throwing and slamming down the driest, saddest side dishes on our table. When it came time to order, she barked "meat?" at us, took our order, and immediately sprinted away before we could even finish adding what we wanted. The absolute only positive thing I can say is that the meat itself was alright.... not bad.... but definitely not worth the horrible vibes, the dirty restaurant, or the stomach ache and head aches we have now. The single bright spot was a male employee right at the end of our meal who was smiling, helpful, and genuinely kind to us. A return following their recent revamp of the place. They're now called Burning X. They changed the interiors to a more sleek black which is good. Some changes tho. The hot bar which had the sides including the japchae, fish cakes and chicken karaage is now being done by staff! You have to ask for the sides. Also they don't carry out intestines too, which is really not my thing so it's ok! The rice can be served by yourself so that's good. The service is still good. The pork belly is always fresh! The food was great! I loved the side dishes like the chicken karage. The short rib and the Galbi were my favorite. I liked that they had a salad bar to get the salads/ kimchi/rice so you can get however much you want and bulgogi so that you didn't have to wait for it and can just cook the meat whenever and however much you want. THE SHIN RAMEN AT THE END was the best part though because I'm a noodle fanatic and I mixed the extra meats and onion and kimchi that we had with the corn cheese into the noodles and it was amazing, so definitely save room for that! This is an AMAZING lunch spot. The staff was super attentive and the quality of meat was awesome. Our server was on top of his game. We were running out of water, he noticed before we reached the bottom, and brought us a new jug before we put the empty down. Noticed our grill needed to be changed and automatically asked rather than us needing to call him over and waiting. I love the self-serve bar area. The lunch menu was smaller, but being able to just walk up and get meat is super cool. It's the first time I've ever seen something like that at a KBBQ place. The brisket was slightly thicker cut than most KBBQ places I've been to which was nice. Lots of fat which gave great flavor and oiled the grill nicely for the other meats. The hack I do is to do a fattier plate of un-marinated meats first, then marinated meats, then come in with un-marinated (so you get seasoning via the grill). Worked perfectly here. The marinated meats were quite good. With them being at the self-serve bar, you can see that the meats are siting in the marinades. Overall, great lunch spot. Solid 8.8/10 place. read more

This place looks like they specialize in marinated meats, so there were a lot of it on the menu. There's not a whole lot of banchan here, and the salad bar was a few additional banchans plus more marinated meat options. They don't have the soybean soup here, but the do miso soup, and this really taste fried chicken with a sweet and savory sauce that I was obsessed with! Service here is fantastic. Our grills were changed very often, and servers were always checking in on us to see if we needed more meats. I liked that the corn cheese were served in individual containers, but it was like 35% corn, 65% cheese. Overall, cool spot for a more affordable KBBQ spot! read more

Burning X is a very good deal for AYCE KBBQ in the area. There's a lot of seating and it's very clean. The structure here is different from other spots I've been to. There's a meat bar and meat from the kitchen. Some meats (mostly chicken, pork belly, and beef bulgogi) are available at a cold bar in the center of the restaurant that you get up and get yourself to bring to your table. On the other side of the bar are the veggies and sides that you can load up on as well. Then, the meat from the kitchen is the section of the menu where it's prepared and brought out to you by your server. The meat quality here is pretty good and the marinated stuff has good flavor. We did, however, have a few problems here. First off, the vent is way too high. Like, basically useless. As with any KBBQ place, you can generally see the smoke from cooking and it would blow on our party instead of getting sucked up by the vent. Another issue we had was with the service. One good thing was that our grills were being replaced regularly. Other than that, our main server was a bit rude and impatient. They also didn't come around as frequently as we needed, which is a problem when you want to order things from the kitchen. read more

Andy is very knowledgeable and attentive. He explained the menu to us and offered great recommendations. Menu: They do have very specific rules, so make sure you read it before dining. You can choose between 3 options - lunch, signature, or premium. All options include the meat and salad bar. Meat & Salad Bars: I really liked the salad and meat bars! It's really convenient for those who prefer a specific amount of meats and don't have to constantly order it. Not only did I loaded up the meats, but I also loaded up bowls of salad and kimchi! Kitchen: We went with Option B Premium. There were 24 items from the kitchen. The meats were definitely premium! Wow! I also tried their seafood options, and it was amazing! Went to Burning XBarbecue recently with my wife and thought it was just okay overall. The self-serve meat section was honestly the highlight since you can grab a pretty wide variety of raw meats yourself without having to wait around for refills. The service was lacking though, especially for an AYCE Korean BBQ place. Staff barely checked on our table, so my wife and I constantly had to try to flag someone down whenever we needed anything. Special kitchen items also took forever to come out, which made the experience feel slow and frustrating at times. The food itself was decent, but some dishes tasted very MSG heavy and overly salty compared to other Korean BBQ spots we've been to. By the end of the meal, both my wife and I felt extremely thirsty and had MSG overload. Didn't feel amazing at all. Another downside was the ventilation. Most KBBQ restaurants nowadays have really strong ventilation systems where you don't leave smelling like smoke and grilled meat, but this place definitely needs improvement there. Our clothes and hair smelled like BBQ for hours afterward. Overall, the self-serve concept is cool and there's a good variety of food, but the lack of attentive service, some overly MSG-heavy dishes, and poor ventilation made this place pretty average for us. read more

A solid place to get Kbbq in this part of Orange County. Personally, I think the options around here for kbbq are all kinda mid - there's better options in Buena Park and Garden Grove. This is a good spot though - for the price and offerings. They have 3 menus - A ($30/pp), B ($44/pp) , and their Lunch Special from M-F. We stuck with A, which has all the classics including Brisket, Beef Belly, and Corn Cheese. On their buffet bar, they offer the marinated meats - including Beef Bulgogi, Spicy Pork Belly, and others. Both aisles of the buffet offer the same meats. On the other side they have some sides - salad, daikon radish, kimchi, etc. Overall, not a bad option for kbbq!
