First time trying Wang Cho. The service was exceptional and priced fairly. The menu is virtual and you will need your phone to access the menu and select meats and Bonchon. The menu has various meat selection package. The marinaded meats were a bit on the sweet side and I enjoyed the brisket and beef belly. The pork belly was good too.

Party of 7, was a bit of a wait to sit down due to the party size but the staff was very friendly. However, the service was like 50/50 half good and half bad because yes we constantly got checked on, had our grills changed, etc. but we would have to place the same order multiple times because we kept not receiving them. Salad was the main one because we ordered it 4 times and it never came out. Corn cheese was okay, the multiple cheeses didn't really mesh well, the meats were good but small portions especially for 7 people.

Pretty popular KBBQ spot next to South Coast Plaza. Plenty of parking. We always try to come around 5PM and beat the dinner rush. Pretty clean establishment. Different tiers of meat to choose from - Emperor, King, and Prince. If you're basic with the meats, the Prince will work. We like the King for the extra steak and shrimp. The garlic pork belly is divine. Good quality meats. I love their steamed egg and corn cheese. They're very efficient with the grill change. Sides in abundance. They sell macaron ice cream for dessert... not included. The many times we've dined here, we've always had great service. The meats usually come pretty fast. Our husbands love their beer tower. Lol. Overall, good food. Good service.

Came here for a late lunch with a few friends. We chose the "middle" menu I believe it was called king but don't quote me. They do not have physical menus they have you scan a QR code to see what each of the 3 menus contain. Each menu kinda levels ups the meat, I wanted short ribs so that's why I chose my menu. However many people you have in your group have to order from the same menu as you so everyone has to come to an agreement, then you can have 1 meat per person on the first order, sides they didn't limit. Service was really good over all. They would always be checking on your grill, came back to offer refills or ask if anything else would like to be ordered. Couple guys ordered beer. We paid about $60-65 each with tip. Overall would come back again. Server was very nice and quick.

Absolutely love this place. The quality of the meats is consistently excellent, and even though it's always busy, it never stops us from coming back--or making the drive out. They're very generous with their sides and always check in to see if we need refills or a grill change. The staff is fast, attentive, and keeps everything running smoothly, even during peak hours. And just when we think we can't eat another bite, we always make room for dessert. The cheesecake with chocolate drizzle is amazing and a must-try. Hands down one of our favorite Korean BBQ spots. Worth every visit.

It's huge inside. The vents working on the pan made it so that you don't walk away smelling awful. Food was plentiful but I don't have other experienced to compare this to an ayce. The service was excellent. I prob wouldn't come back unless I was in the area, hungry and needed ayce kbbq.

Great meats and selection even with the traditional KBBQ menu. Each meat selection is still flavorful with a great selection to choose from. The waiters were very kind and patient as we ordered our meals with our party of 5. Very attentive to waters and orders. The restaurant has a good ambiance with modern decor and plenty of space and it does not feel crowded in my opinion.

My fiance and I came in tonight at around 5:30pm. The restaurant was busy, but it seemed to be flowing well. We got sat and I'll say it. The service was FAST! We ordered and less than 5 minutes, we got our food. The meats were good, sides were standard and yummy. Pros: - Value : it's pretty affordable considering most kbbq spots. - portion size: decent and kept me coming back Cons: - Our server Tiffany didn't smile ONCE the entire visit. It threw us off and my fiance made sure to be extra nice to her since she was being sort of a jerk. - Lights were a little too dark inside. But that's my personal opinion. Felt like I had to squint to see my food - alcoholic beverages were a LOT smaller than I thought for $12.

We ordered the King $38/pp level and it had a nice selection of meats, seafood, and sides. My favorites were the marinated short ribs (Kalbi), beef belly and beef tongue. The shrimp with garlic butter was also really good. It's actually my friend's favorite item. He said his meal is not complete without it! We also enjoyed the banchan, fluffy steamed egg, and corn cheese. The service was very good with so many grill changes and constant ordering of additional meats. I wish there was free dessert included, but you can purchase ice cream at the front.

The moment we walked through the door service was provided quickly, with a smile, inquiring how large are party was. We had a party of 8 and the hostess was able to find two tables together and sat us promptly. The first waitress (I think was Luna) was very friendly and was able to answer all questions we had. She did an amazing job ensuring our food was correctly ordered. We had the all you can eat "Prince" level (which was more than enough food for us. The other tiers were "King" & "Emperor" (something along those lines) with the last having an option for Angus Steak. Our grill was changed out frequently to ensure the grill was clean and able to cook meat at proper temperature levels. Had to take our kid to restroom and restrooms were clean and acceptable to use. Overall would go back to this place for another meal in a heartbeat.

Everyone hyped this place up to me, however it was average to me. If I go to KBBQ, I'll just make the drive to Westminster and Garden Grove. It is very nice and modern inside, can't lie about that. I came here for dinner and ordered the Prince Menu. It had a good amount of meats and sides. The service could use work. I felt my server was the only one working in a large area by herself, so service was not as attentive as I am used to. The meats were decent, could use some seasoning or flavor. To me, the stab of the meats was the garlic pork belly and spicy beef belly. My food came out before water which was different. Overall this is a one and done place for me. Overall experience to include food is 3/5.

Service is fast pace, come early this place gets busy quickly, we came for dinner and it was busy, but we got lucky waited 5 minutes or so. Make sure to use Yelp to get on waitlist, helps out! The staff is nice and very attentive, as they pass your tables, tons of side dishes, upscale Korean bbq and huge restaurant. They have inside and patio seating too, and different tons of meat options as well.

been here plenty of times before lately maybe in 2023/24 and ifl the meat quality has gone down a bit. However Cannot go wrong with brisket or beef belly, bulgogi. One thing they are known for is their honey marinates. Really love the honey bbq pork belly. Meat quality and sides: 3/5. Taste was okay a bit on the blander side but large selection and can top w salt/sauce. Service: 5/5. You are in and out and always attended. I never once had to call our server over bc they always checked in/refilled drinks/took our orders. Top tier service, and very minimal wait for a Saturday evening (5mins). Price is also quite fair compared to others starts at $33. Interior: 4/5 nice interior modern and on par w other kbbq restraunts. Would have been cool if they had like K-pop vids playing or something but they had football on lolz Anyways quick reliable and fairly affordable kbbq spot that satisfies the craving of Korean food. Would come again forshure.

Wang Cho Korean BBQ Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Wang Cho Korean BBQ

    Are solo diners allowed?

I wouldn't see why not. It is after all just a price for selection on the menu.

Does everyone at the table have to order the same package? For example, does everyone have to order Emperor if one person wants it?

Yes. Because it'll be hard for the servers to keep track of who orders what. So everyone at the table has to order the same.

Is it possible to pay with cash?

    Yes you can

Does this place still do outdoor dining?

Yes usually when it's busy and the weather is nice.

What are the prices for kids?

Easy to just call. Prices may have changed since my last visit

Is there a time limit for the all you can eat?

I think so but, it's never been enforced. Cooking intestines take a long time so I'm always there for far too long lol

Are the outside grills still there?

Yes. But, I think they only use it when it's busy or the weekends.

Is this AYCE where you have to cook the food yourself?

Yes, AYCE & grills on the table.

Do they have a full bar?

Absolutely YES. Plus a selection of beers on tap.

    Do you take reservations?

Most recent response that I received from the restaurant is that they only take reservations for parties of 8 people or more. They suggest using the waitlist if your party is smaller than 8.

Does this place serve pork cheek(pork jowl)?

    No. They don't.

Do you have the radish paper as a side?

    Yes we do!

Is it true they have a automatic gratuity for any party?

Yes, that is correct. It was an automatic 17% gratuity on our bill.

Do you still offer M-F lunch special 19.99?

Yes, our lunch special is 19.99 Mondays through Fridays from 11:30AM to 3:00PM!

If I were to get the lunch option, $17.99 I believe, what vegetarian options could I get? I rarely eat chicken but that could work too.

I would not recommend a vegetarian to go for Korean BBQ. It would be like ordering fresh oyster at Denny’s. I was not impressed with its vegetable offerings.

    Indoor dining available now?

    Yes

    Do you take reservations?

Most recent response that I received from the restaurant is that they only take reservations for parties of 8 people or more. They suggest using the waitlist if your party is smaller than 8.

Does one have to call to be added to the waitlist, or can that be done from the yelp app?

    Yelp waitlist for the win!

    Is there still outdoor seating?

    Yes

    Is there dining indoors?

No, all the dining is outdoors on the patio area.

The overall ambiance of this space is alright considering how the only seating is outside and the wait is definitely pretty long. The food itself is actually really delicious. I have to say that the meats were smoked well, had a great deal of flavor, and the sides with the noodles are what really got me wanting to go back again. And every smoker has a different method and it's great to try them all. Ordered 2ct of the 2 meats + 2 sides + Gee's pudding. Brisket; got some dry pieces, probably reheated way too many times. Was looking forward to solid brisket but man, disappointment. Beef ribs; felt a bit ripped off with this (see picture). Meat was also dry/overcooked/reheated too much Chicken; hard to mess up. The only moist meat of the plate But sides, pretty darn phenomenal. Potato salad had texture -red onions and pickles and dill -i usually hate dill but this potato salad was done so well. Mac n cheese, probably the best mac n cheese ive had in a long time. Dirty noodles -not a fan of this but my friend enjoyed it. Thin noodles with brisket pieces. Dirty fried rice, why didnt I think of this. Exceptional smoke and I would love a tray of this at parties. Gee's pudding: solid dessert. Thank goodness no nasty bananas in this pudding. No cornbread here -just pre packaged dinner rolls. Picanha and tri tip were sold out -expected since I came on a Sunday evening. I should've visited on a Friday or even Saturday for better smokes/options. But from this experience, Gee's is solid, wouldn't be my first pick but still good if in area.

*** SCAM ALERT *** I…read moredon't use the word "SCAM" lightly, but that's what this was. My adult son called in a $281.62 order off the menu for Mother's Day. They would not accept the order or payment over the phone because the order was "too big." They asked that someone go there and pay up front for the entire order. Since it was the evening before Mother's Day, I drove to them and paid for the order. Yes, I was also presented with a minumum 20% TIP screen, which I declined. When I got there at pickup time (4:00pm) on Mother's Day, the price changed to $325.51. I was told that, for some reason, they had cut about 50% larger portions than the menu specified (see the line items, which should have been 1 lb. each), so they charged me for the difference ($325.51 - $281.62) which was $43.89 (about 50% more for the 2 items they cut heavier). No, there was no mention when I placed the order that the total cost might change due to extra meat. Neither is it shown on their web site or printed menus. When I protested, there was no option. If I don't pay the $43.89 difference, I don't get the Mother's Day food. After about 20 minutes of bickering at the counter with two different clerks (note the time stamp differences on the credit card slips), I was given my original order, with a net price reduction of ($281.62 - $254.93) $26.69. My persistence had paid off. On a positive note, the cook did, twice, walk up to me and quietly apologize for what was going on. I know many folks would have folded in this situation, but that's not my nature. I don't stand for dishonesty. Yes, it was embarrassing, other clients in line were not happy (I let them skip ahead of me so as not to inconvenience them). None of them had price increases. I don't know if the clerks wanted a tip because the management doesn't pay them much, or it this goes deeper and is standard operating procedure that assumes most clients will simply approve of the overage and pay up. In any case, from this client's point of view, this is a SCAM! When it was all over, I took my 11 and 12 year old grandsons (who had been sitting patiently waiting for grandpa to pay) and my food package to the car, drove home and proudly presented the meat to my family. After all, I am a hunter-gatherer; and the food was great!

When we walked in, there wasn't a host or greeter at the front stand. Instead, the bartender YELLED across the restaurant TWICE to get our attention and then yelled at us again for us to "sit anywhere". I wanted to sit outside to enjoy the summer weather, but after seeing the lack of staff, we sat in direct view of the front desk and general path of travel. Even then we had to repeatedly ask for our drinks. Service was slow, disorganized and the staff just walked around without urgency. I'd love to say the food made it better, but that wasn't the case. The smoked rib tips arrived so dry that they were practically beef jerky. They tasted like they had been reheated in a microwave. Our son ordered wings with buffalo sauce and they came out bone dry without the sauce. We alerted a random waitress because ours was nowhere to be found and she took them back to be coated.
