First time trying Wang Cho. The service was exceptional and priced fairly. The menu is virtual and you will need your phone to access the menu and select meats and Bonchon. The menu has various meat selection package. The marinaded meats were a bit on the sweet side and I enjoyed the brisket and beef belly. The pork belly was good too.

Pretty popular KBBQ spot next to South Coast Plaza. Plenty of parking. We always try to come around 5PM and beat the dinner rush. Pretty clean establishment. Different tiers of meat to choose from - Emperor, King, and Prince. If you're basic with the meats, the Prince will work. We like the King for the extra steak and shrimp. The garlic pork belly is divine. Good quality meats. I love their steamed egg and corn cheese. They're very efficient with the grill change. Sides in abundance. They sell macaron ice cream for dessert... not included. The many times we've dined here, we've always had great service. The meats usually come pretty fast. Our husbands love their beer tower. Lol. Overall, good food. Good service.

Party of 7, was a bit of a wait to sit down due to the party size but the staff was very friendly. However, the service was like 50/50 half good and half bad because yes we constantly got checked on, had our grills changed, etc. but we would have to place the same order multiple times because we kept not receiving them. Salad was the main one because we ordered it 4 times and it never came out. Corn cheese was okay, the multiple cheeses didn't really mesh well, the meats were good but small portions especially for 7 people.

Variety of meats to select from.

Warning- Keep in mind, all though the tables and grills are stainless steel you need to ensure you start with a freshly clean grill and table top. Remember you're dealing with raw meat that can easily cross contaminate if not properly cleaned and cooked properly. If you like to cook then this is the place to go, like any other Korean BBQ restaurants.

Came here for a late lunch with a few friends. We chose the "middle" menu I believe it was called king but don't quote me. They do not have physical menus they have you scan a QR code to see what each of the 3 menus contain. Each menu kinda levels ups the meat, I wanted short ribs so that's why I chose my menu. However many people you have in your group have to order from the same menu as you so everyone has to come to an agreement, then you can have 1 meat per person on the first order, sides they didn't limit. Service was really good over all. They would always be checking on your grill, came back to offer refills or ask if anything else would like to be ordered. Couple guys ordered beer. We paid about $60-65 each with tip. Overall would come back again. Server was very nice and quick.

Kids and family wanted to try Korean BBQ , So we came here, Started off good , until my daughter found a hair on her food, that's okay, I could get past that. But after we got a side of cheese , it literally had mold in it . Mold was growing in the cheese . It killed my appetite , it made me feel like the place was unsanitary and food was old . It killed my appetite . 15 % off for hair and mold in my food Great , my gratuity was 17 % And Bill almost 300

It's huge inside. The vents working on the pan made it so that you don't walk away smelling awful. Food was plentiful but I don't have other experienced to compare this to an ayce. The service was excellent. I prob wouldn't come back unless I was in the area, hungry and needed ayce kbbq.

Absolutely love this place. The quality of the meats is consistently excellent, and even though it's always busy, it never stops us from coming back--or making the drive out. They're very generous with their sides and always check in to see if we need refills or a grill change. The staff is fast, attentive, and keeps everything running smoothly, even during peak hours. And just when we think we can't eat another bite, we always make room for dessert. The cheesecake with chocolate drizzle is amazing and a must-try. Hands down one of our favorite Korean BBQ spots. Worth every visit.

We ordered the King $38/pp level and it had a nice selection of meats, seafood, and sides. My favorites were the marinated short ribs (Kalbi), beef belly and beef tongue. The shrimp with garlic butter was also really good. It's actually my friend's favorite item. He said his meal is not complete without it! We also enjoyed the banchan, fluffy steamed egg, and corn cheese. The service was very good with so many grill changes and constant ordering of additional meats. I wish there was free dessert included, but you can purchase ice cream at the front.

The moment we walked through the door service was provided quickly, with a smile, inquiring how large are party was. We had a party of 8 and the hostess was able to find two tables together and sat us promptly. The first waitress (I think was Luna) was very friendly and was able to answer all questions we had. She did an amazing job ensuring our food was correctly ordered. We had the all you can eat "Prince" level (which was more than enough food for us. The other tiers were "King" & "Emperor" (something along those lines) with the last having an option for Angus Steak. Our grill was changed out frequently to ensure the grill was clean and able to cook meat at proper temperature levels. Had to take our kid to restroom and restrooms were clean and acceptable to use. Overall would go back to this place for another meal in a heartbeat.

Everyone hyped this place up to me, however it was average to me. If I go to KBBQ, I'll just make the drive to Westminster and Garden Grove. It is very nice and modern inside, can't lie about that. I came here for dinner and ordered the Prince Menu. It had a good amount of meats and sides. The service could use work. I felt my server was the only one working in a large area by herself, so service was not as attentive as I am used to. The meats were decent, could use some seasoning or flavor. To me, the stab of the meats was the garlic pork belly and spicy beef belly. My food came out before water which was different. Overall this is a one and done place for me. Overall experience to include food is 3/5.

Service is fast pace, come early this place gets busy quickly, we came for dinner and it was busy, but we got lucky waited 5 minutes or so. Make sure to use Yelp to get on waitlist, helps out! The staff is nice and very attentive, as they pass your tables, tons of side dishes, upscale Korean bbq and huge restaurant. They have inside and patio seating too, and different tons of meat options as well.

been here plenty of times before lately maybe in 2023/24 and ifl the meat quality has gone down a bit. However Cannot go wrong with brisket or beef belly, bulgogi. One thing they are known for is their honey marinates. Really love the honey bbq pork belly. Meat quality and sides: 3/5. Taste was okay a bit on the blander side but large selection and can top w salt/sauce. Service: 5/5. You are in and out and always attended. I never once had to call our server over bc they always checked in/refilled drinks/took our orders. Top tier service, and very minimal wait for a Saturday evening (5mins). Price is also quite fair compared to others starts at $33. Interior: 4/5 nice interior modern and on par w other kbbq restraunts. Would have been cool if they had like K-pop vids playing or something but they had football on lolz Anyways quick reliable and fairly affordable kbbq spot that satisfies the craving of Korean food. Would come again forshure.

Wang Cho Korean BBQ Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Wang Cho Korean BBQ

    Are solo diners allowed?

I wouldn't see why not. It is after all just a price for selection on the menu.

Does everyone at the table have to order the same package? For example, does everyone have to order Emperor if one person wants it?

Yes. Because it'll be hard for the servers to keep track of who orders what. So everyone at the table has to order the same.

Is it possible to pay with cash?

    Yes you can

Does this place still do outdoor dining?

Yes usually when it's busy and the weather is nice.

What are the prices for kids?

Easy to just call. Prices may have changed since my last visit

Is there a time limit for the all you can eat?

I think so but, it's never been enforced. Cooking intestines take a long time so I'm always there for far too long lol

Are the outside grills still there?

Yes. But, I think they only use it when it's busy or the weekends.

Is this AYCE where you have to cook the food yourself?

Yes, AYCE & grills on the table.

Do they have a full bar?

Absolutely YES. Plus a selection of beers on tap.

    Do you take reservations?

Most recent response that I received from the restaurant is that they only take reservations for parties of 8 people or more. They suggest using the waitlist if your party is smaller than 8.

Does this place serve pork cheek(pork jowl)?

    No. They don't.

Do you have the radish paper as a side?

    Yes we do!

Is it true they have a automatic gratuity for any party?

Yes, that is correct. It was an automatic 17% gratuity on our bill.

Do you still offer M-F lunch special 19.99?

Yes, our lunch special is 19.99 Mondays through Fridays from 11:30AM to 3:00PM!

If I were to get the lunch option, $17.99 I believe, what vegetarian options could I get? I rarely eat chicken but that could work too.

I would not recommend a vegetarian to go for Korean BBQ. It would be like ordering fresh oyster at Denny’s. I was not impressed with its vegetable offerings.

    Indoor dining available now?

    Yes

    Do you take reservations?

Most recent response that I received from the restaurant is that they only take reservations for parties of 8 people or more. They suggest using the waitlist if your party is smaller than 8.

Does one have to call to be added to the waitlist, or can that be done from the yelp app?

    Yelp waitlist for the win!

    Is there still outdoor seating?

    Yes

    Is there dining indoors?

No, all the dining is outdoors on the patio area.

They don't allow outside food/drinks as you're eating, but they did let us keep our drinks in their fridge until we finished our meal. Yupdduk is known to be super spicy, so every time I chicken out and get the mildest spice level or one level up. Have definitely had friends be bold and order spicier levels only to struggle later. Since the portions are so big, I prefer to keep it mild to actually enjoy eating! Recommend getting the cheese add on in person but becomes a bit more questionable for takeout unless you have a good way to heat the cheese at home before eating. Also like to get the tempura and thick glass noodle add ons! They sell lots of drinks as well to help cut the spice/the peach juice is tasty regardless. If you're going with a few people, the Braised Spicy Premium Beef Ribs with the flat glass noodles is definitely the move. The portion easily feeds two to three. The meat is super tender and just falls off the bone, covered in a rich, spicy sauce that has a nice kick to it. The flat glass noodles soak up all that sauce, and the chunks of kabocha squash add a slight sweetness that balances out the spicy, heavy beef. Service is super fast.
