Then had run out of chicken. Burns was cool, a very casual place, with covered outdoor seating and depending on the time of the year you'll have to deal with annoying flies. Service was ok, food was OK. I really enjoyed the beans, the ribs and brisket were ok but not phenomenal. On my first visit the ribs were huge and a brisket was dry. On my second visit the ribs was back to normal size but still lacking flavor. The brisket was the same but I tried it with bbq sauce and that enhanced the taste. Great bbq. I've been a fan since they were on the northside. I live in Pearland now and usually get it DoorDash-ed. Today, they were not taking delivery orders. This was my first time placing an order in person. There was a male cashier taking orders and I was waiting for him to summon me at the register, but he never did. I was unsure of what to do. Instead of telling me he was ready to take my order, he came to me with his pad and pen and started taking my order further down. Before he could finish taking my order, Phaedra started yelling at us to go to the register and for the customers to swing around. It definitely wasn't what she said, it was the delivery that was the problem for me. I understand a lot of things could've been happening that day. Maybe they were training or short staffed and that was why they weren't taking delivery orders. Maybe it was a rough day. I get it. But when someone addresses a fellow employee as well as the customers with attitude, it's not a good look. I asked the girl at the front for the time frame to receive my food her reply was "I don't know". I ordered 2 meat plate ribs and chicken, along with a slice of cake. They forgot my cake so I had to go back inside and get it. The portions are ginormous. Like I could get 3 or 4 meals, a whole lot of meat. My sides were normal size servings of mac and cheese and beans. Everything was good, however they didn't give me any bbq sauce. I realized this after I got home. Luckily my friend gave me some of his and it was tasty. I also got a piece of his sausage and that was very good. I wouldn't recommend the cake it was store bought and tasted old and dry : ( They have a sign saying check your food before you leave and I have a horrible habit of not checking mine. We got the dinner entrée with Ribs, house sausage, BBQ beans, and potatoe salad. everything tasted slightly salty and fatty, but when you cover it in their BBQ sauce, it made it pretty tasty! They give you a slice of bread, with some pickles and onions for a pallet cleanser. The only thing they were lacking in my opinion was that southern hospitality charm. The lady at the cash register greeted us and then asked what we would like to order, half way through our order she turns around and starts a full-blown conversation for about 2 minutes with the lady next to us. Once she was done, she turns back and asks us to repeat the order....ummm that felt odd, but that's only one aspect, the customer service aspect of a dining experience.
