Another waterfront spot for a meal. We just stopped in for a drink after a day wandering around the city. It's not a massive beachside restaurant compared to there along the way. But it does have its little quirks. The small little bar area which I don't know if it's also the kitchen where food was prepared. There maybe a kitchen elsewhere. Beachfront dining without the uptight vibe of the more fancier places. We had a pina colada and margarita just for a little refresher. It was quite good and pretty massive for size. While walking through the area, we decided to stop in for their 2 for 1 margaritas and I am so glad we did! They were so refreshing and tasty! We were able to find a table quickly and the guy who took our order was friendly and made sure we had what we needed. Hopefully this message gets to the owner. I have been coming to Puerto Vallarta for over twenty years. And also have been coming to Burros for twenty years. On November 27th 2023 my wife and I sat down at one of tables. Not many people in the bar. At the same time two other couples sat at other tables. We all waited over ten minutes for services and never received any. The six of us went next door and got service right away. While we were walking out I noticed all the staff talking around the bar area and not tending to the customers. I have been in the restaurant/bar business in the past. And this type of employee action will ruin a business. Hopefully the owner gets this message. This use to be our go to bar. Next year we will try it again. Hopefully we see a change. Beware tourist trap prices!! Although the server was super nice, the food was okay at best, the margaritas which are 2 for 1 are served in a tiny class and both at the same time so one gets hot while you drink the other (and it's not good cold so imagine how bad it is hot). My burrito was over priced for what it was, wish we didn't go to this place and actually used Yelp. After this bad experience I yelped everything else in the area and found much better places at much better prices. We only spent a few minutes at Burros Bar while waiting to go for a water taxi to Yelapa. But, the margaritas we ordered were *extraordinary*. The deal at the time was two-for-one, but you had to order two of the same flavor. Not a problem as our palates are compatible. We started with Mango and it was divine. Sweet, muddled fruit, thick, and flavorful. not much alcohol, but I grew to appreciate that. The drinks are inexpensive and delicious. So lower alcohol just means you can enjoy more in a short period of time without getting seriously loopy. After the mango, we went for a peach, also fantastic. There's nothing quite like drinking an amazing, refreshing, inexpensive drink at the beach, in the shade, with your toes in the sand. Drink service was attentive and prompt. No complaints. To add to the experience, a local guy named Antonio struck up a conversation with us and, like most, had connections like a concierge and led us to a reasonably priced water taxi that was covered. Apparently not all of them are. Our trip to Yelapa was 40 minutes, so we were appreciative. Recommended! read more

Avoid. Worst margherita in PUERTO Valletta. We are hear 40 days per year and this was terrible. No taste, too bitter and too much bite. Cheap mix, cheap tequila, nooo triple sec ( according to waiter) and no lime!!Note ::drinks are also 1/2 the size of the photo advertised. Very disappointing considering the waiter recommended the margherita. When he asked how drinks were and we told him, he did nothing. No alternative offered, nothing. ...and he never came back. Service=zero. Came for "happy hour" 2 for 1 special. Very disappointing. This is very stupid of management, because had the drinks been as represented we likely would have stayed for dinner, and come back much more often. First truly bad meal i have ever had in Vallarta. Lousy service. When we told the waitress the food was inedible she just walked away and never returned. We obviously did not eat the food but another waiter brought the bill. Also be aware on their 2 for 1 happy hour drinks they bring both drinks at the same time. This place made us feel at home, the food was great and the service was top notch. Besides being bombshell with vendors the family had a ball. I did not enjoy my chilaquiles because they were made from chips and weren't topped with an egg (lame).
