Hostess was nice to take down our name and phone number so we can walk around, they'd call us when the table was ready. For starters, we ordered the falafel and shrimp. They also provide bread with olive oil and some sort of herbs, that I'm a huge fan of! For my entree I had the kofte kebab and my boyfriend had the salmon. This place does not take reservations- it is on first come, first served basis. I went at 5 PM on a Friday which was a good time. This restaurant has an upscale Mediterranean vibe, but plan ahead for parking which can be a challenge. I gave menu 3-4 stars only because it offers very few choices of entree's, but as far as service goes, I gave it only 3 stars, since main entree's took 25 minutes to get to us, and waiter never came back to ask for our drink orders (after we were undecided the first 5 minutes). We went in about 20 minutes before the kitchen was gonna close and asked if they were seating guests still They happily welcomed us in and seated. We ordered a few things to share the feta cigar app the Halibut and the cucumber Greek yogurt. Very fresh healthy Mediterranean food and all were delishes, perfect for sharing. I'm a huge halibut fan and the dish was very well rounded halibut was cooked perfectly. At the end we asked if we could get the Turkish coffee if it wasn't to much of a hassle no cream or sugar. The owner was so sweet and brought us 2 glasses and some unexpected desserts to enjoy with it. He introduced us to his wife as well as himself to us. I had combination grill kebab, it included chicken, lamb, beef lula, and lamb shank with Jasmine rice - it was delicious and filling. My friend had a salad with grilled shrimp and she love it. I came here for lunch on a weekend and this place lived up to my yelp expectations. The baba ghanouj was good with the pita bread. The chicken kabob was moist and delicious and came with a yogurt sauce, rice and arugula salad. And the salmon wrap with fries was also good. The place was nearly full, but we were seated promptly. Good friends took me to Bursa for dinner. They are somewhat regulars as they love the food. Turns out there is a good reason they are regulars. The food was outstanding. One of the best meals I've had in San Francisco, ever. We were served fresh sliced bread with olive oil and a spice mix to dip it in that was extraordinary. I couldn't place the spices and asked and was told the owner imports several of them from Jordan to get the right flavor. We then ordered the combination appetizer and two of us ordered the beef stroganoff and a garlic lemon salmon. The combo appetizer knocked my socks off. Fresh bright hummus, a smoky baba ghanouj, dolmas, perfect balls of falafel, outstanding ezme (eggplant and roasted red pepper), a mercimek (red lentils) that was savory and wonderful. Absolutely none of them were subpar. But my absolute favorite was the haydari, a kefir cheese and greek yogurt with mint and dill. The flavors of the haydari were beyond words. My friend ordered the Garlic Lemon Salmon. The salmon was fresh - this did not come prepackaged from a restaurant supply house; this was flaky moist and incredibly well seasoned. It had an avocado sauce and fried onion strings which pushed the dish to the limits and please the taste buds. However, my beef stroganoff took me back to my childhood and reminded me of my mom's family loved recipe. This creamy mushroom and onion sauce and absolutely tender seared beef and onions was a dream to eat. It was rich but not overpowering and was just the right portion and mix of beef, onions and mushrooms. I saw others who had the beyti and the grilled rack of lamb - and those are on my hit list on my next visit -they looked amazing. The food was presented simply and it spoke for itself - there was no need to be showy when it tasted so good. We paired out entrees with a blended red, Ménage a Trois - fruit forward, simple and delicious - a good choice for the dinner. For dessert we went all out, all the previous dishes had been amazing, how could we pick just one. We ordered the rice pudding, baklava and I believe the third dish was knafeh - it was a pastry that look like rice noodles fried into a square cake but was the flavor of perhaps the puff pastry of baklava but sandwich in the middle was this amazing gooey cheese and it was covered in sweet honey syrup and crushed pistachios. The rice pudding was amazing and could easily be the capstone on a wonderful meal for two. One of the best rice puddings I've ever had and I'm quite partial to them. Now, I am NOT a fan of baklava, but I gave it a go and was quite surprised at how much I liked it. Which leads me to the knafeh - I was leery but was instantly won over by the sweet and savory mix - just outstanding. I wanted a second one. Since my friends are regulars the owner recognized us and came and said hello and sat with us briefly and chatted. Jihad is a wonderful, warm and humorous man who has poured his heart and soul into this business - it shows in the clean, well decorated dining room, his quick and attentive staff and the tremendous food he is serving. He spoke of his love for the US and how he loves the diversity of peoples and cultures and why he wanted to make the US home so many years ago. His love for humanity showed through in his smile and his food. I'm so glad my friends brought me here. I have not a bad word to say. It was reasonably priced. I could find no fault. By far the best Mediterranean food in SF and the service was incredible! It was our first time trying Bursa and there was a bit of a wait (no surprise, because the food was absolutely delish) and the owner sent appetizers to our table! Ate here with the family the other night. It's very difficult to find really good middle eastern food, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but ended up being pleasantly surprised. Between all of us, a number of different things were ordered, and everyone enjoyed their food. Some highlights: Highly recommend the falafel!!! SO yummy!
