Served piping hot, the Doner plates here are a good sized meal for most anyone! I'm usually biased for chicken as that's a bit healthier than beef or lamb, but for once I decided to try just a little of the others.. But to stay on the good side of healthy, I requested less beef and lamb for more chicken, which was happily accommodated. Between then three meats, I enjoyed the chicken the best. Lots of basmati rice underneath. The side salad was a moist accompaniment to the drier beef and lamb . The salad was zesty with salad dressing served on the side in a little cup. All said, the meats were fresh but bland in flavor. Pro tip: don't ask for a free cup of water here. They won't do that. Boo.. decent hot and fresh food, but I prefer other Mediterranean styles as they tend to be more flavorful to me. We've had better kofte at other places, so wouldn't recommend getting this here. Thinly sliced, the meat served most often wrapped in flatbread or pita, alongside fresh vegetables and flavorful sauces. Also used in plates and combos. Peruse the menu, order, pay and wait. Each order is individually prepped. I was focused on salmon today so I ordered the SALMON PLATE and was not disappointed. Plate arrived piping hot with grilled salmon on a bed of hot, fluffy rice pilaf, side of cool salad greens, onions, olives, pickles. Tzatziki sauce was outstanding, could have used more pita bread but I devoured the whole plate without complaint! Would definitely reorder! I was bereft to see I missed a whole showcase of BAKLAVA TREATS!!!! Next time! NAR DÖNER was a nice little bit of Mediterranean heaven while on a shopping respite. Stonestown has several exceptional food options and we were hoping Nar would be a good addition to that list -however, our chicken doner wrap was very underwhelming and did not live up to the Stonestown standard. The wrap itself was very small given the price and the chicken was largely unseasoned and lacking in flavor. Definitely wish it came with some sauce options to enhance the flavor. The highlight was, of course, the döner, a spiced lamb-beef mixture shaved from a rotating spit with plenty of fatty, crispy edges. This was served in a generous portion on top of rice, along with pita bread slices and a refreshing mixed salad of lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, red cabbage, red onions, and pickles. For those not feeling meaty, the Vegetarian Combo Plate came with a selection of vegetarian bites including hummus, baba ghanoush, two dolmas, salad, pita bread, and a borek (flaky rolled pastry stuffed with spicy potato). Most of the components were tasty (though I wish there were more hummus and baba ghanoush, which came in laughably small portions), but the borek was disappointingly dry and not the least bit crispy. Melis was amazing with her customer service! She helped me and my husband and made our whole experience great. The food and the service were both excellent. When my husband picked the place, he didn't realize it was in the mall food court, but we weren't disappointed at all and we'll definitely be going back. Everything was super fresh, and Melis even suggested some sauces for us to try, which were so good that we ended up getting extra. The portions were very generous we had leftovers and I enjoyed mine again for dinner. I was excited to have a doner here because I've been craving one for months. My first time eating a doner was in Berlin, then again in Thailand and I really enjoyed them. However, this place was disappointing in several ways. The meat beef/lamb combo wrap was dry and lacked sauce. The man that seemed to be the owner was very rude when I asked for a few ketchup packets for my fries he gave me two which isn't much at all. When I asked for two more he said he should charge me for more. Charge me extra to have ketchup with my fries? Even after I gave them a tip? What an unreasonable jerk! I might've gone back to give it another try since I live close but dealing with someone that has such a bad attitude, forget that. read more

They have lighter/healthier options than what you typically see in a food court and it was delicious. They have some very affordable wraps from $11-$13, and plates and salads for $13-$23. When I arrived, I ordered the spinach and cheese gozleme which is a type of flatbread, and according to their menu which is on some screens that rotate the images periodically, it's one of their more popular items. They have a couple other vegetarian gozleme options as well as selling falafel wraps and plates. They also have a pretty reasonably priced combo deal you can get which includes a main dish, a drink, and one of two appetizer options. I really liked it a lot, it came with not only the gozleme itself but also a yogurt-based sauce and some salad including lettuce, carrots, red/purple cabbage. I thought the salad was just alright. The gozleme had cheese that is strong and pungent in a good way and was overall quite flavorful and juicy. The sauce is also pretty good, it makes for a nice "cool" and refreshing flavor if you combine it with the gozleme. Overall, I'd say the food is reasonably priced and I would be down to eat here again. read more

Many other kiosks such as Panda Express, Tang Bar, and Kura Revolving Sushi Bar commanded a lot of attention these days. One time, Blaze Pizza had a very long, snakelike line since most people love pizza! Looks like Nar Döner N Grill needs a lot of attention to keep its business running. For lunch, I only had a bowl of salad and a short cup of lentil soup, each with its lemon wedges. Love how colorful my salad bowl was, from red cabbage strips to carrot strips. The quality from the ground up had never failed me since everything looked and tasted fresh. The soup had a grainy texture from crushed lentils; perhaps it's lighter than the split pea soup. Wish I wanted to try Gözleme, but there's no need. Looked like a pair of quesadillas if I were to order spinach and cheese. Savory rolls? Nah, another time. I jumped to the Turkish delight (a chewy rose cube) followed by the can of kombucha. Another women owned business with a Middle Eastern flare. I'd say you ought to try dining at Nar Döner N Grill at least once. That place still looked amazing with cultural designs. Even though Turkey is still on a road to recovery, it's best to use the lunchtime for the Turkish eatery like Nar Döner. read more

Hello! This was my first time going to the Stonestown mall in SF with two other friends. We went to the food court and checked out the food places. I had to look for a halal spot and Nar Döner & Grill caught my eye. There was a kind person named Melis that helped me out. She was patient and awesome sauce. The area was pretty nice too. The food was great! Filled me up instantly. I think I got the chicken & lamb-beef combo wrap with fries and soda. I asked for a lot of napkins for my friends and she was able to give them to me. This place was definitely not the first or second choice for me at Stonestown but it shall become as such. I usually go to Rooster and Rice or Taiwan Street Food for a quick bite, just wasn't feeling it this round. I've circled the food court a few times and finally settled for a doner plate, it was a good choice. My "plate" could barely close the container lid, it has a small salad with a light vinaigrette, some pickled veggies, got a bunch of sliced gyro meats, some pita bread, over the rice pilaf. For 15 bucks, this was 2 meals worth. I tried to not finish everything at once, especially the rice, it was so soft and flavorful. The worst part of the plate was the pita bread, it was way too dry and hard, the texture was more like some makeshift pita chip that was too thick. Overall, I'd buy this again. This whole food court has gotten so much better now. Although the shop was run by 2 people, the wait wasn't bad at all, I've spent more time thinking of what to get and where to eat than to wait for my food. Reminds me of Northern Chinese Jian Dong Meat Pie or a Turkish Quesadilla. This is one of two places that serves it in the city (the other is SF Breakfast Place in Nob Hill). The Gözleme had great flavor from the spiced ground beef with caramelized onions and peppers. Similar to mozzarella, the kasseri cheese was melty and stretchy. Fat = flavor. But, the Gözleme was hella greasy. I had to get a stack of napkins to blot the grease. I provided feedback to the kind owner (?) and she said, it's the ground beef but I also think they accidentally put too much oil on the flat top which made it even greasier. The cacik (yogurt sauce) was thick and creamy with a touch of tang. Their hot sauce is creamy versus hot. The accompanying garden salad with vinaigrette was fresh and the acidic pickled purple cabbage helped to cut through the richness. Room for improvement: I hope they find a better way to pack the Gözleme. Since the pieces were stacked on top of each other, the bottom pieces were soaked in a mini pool of grease that dripped from the filling. And, this is eating it on-site at the food court. S E R V I C E Polite and gracious service. The owner offered to bring my order to the table. With no line, it took 7-8 minutes. Overall, Nar Döner & Grill is a great addition to Stonestown; good value eats and adding diversity to the current AZN centric offerings. The hummus was thick and went well with the warm pita, the combo wrap and doner meat was really juicy and tender with all the ingredients mixing well together, and the falafel had some good crunch but was moist and delicious inside. I also ordered one of each baklava, and it was a great way to finish the meal. My Turkish friend who was with me also loved everything I ordered and said it was pretty legit!
