I needed an estimate for an area drain jam. An elderly technician who came the next day was professional, instructive, and honest. He examined my drains and showed me the types of pipes used in area drains from his large truck, including an inexpensive type that my home and most home have, a flexible pipe that easily allow plant and tree roots inside. "What, roots?" I thought. I mentioned that I hit a wall inside a curb exit pipe with a garden hose that had blasted away dirt and rocks. He said that wall is likely a ninety degrees joint. He pulled a two inch diameter and eight feet length pipe from his truck and pushed it into the curb water exit to ascertain the junction. He mentioned that I can start with snaking but that probably won't work and a waste of money. He advised that I should go to high pressure water jetting since jetting can usually make turns. .Jaime came out today to fix our dripping bath faucet and he was very professional and friendly, but more importantly, extremely knowledgable and quick. We have a Roman Jacuzzi tub without an access panel. I had a plumber come out yesterday and he said he was scared to touch it (said he didn't do jacuzzi tubs unless there is an access panel). I reached out to Burtech plumbing after he left and Jaime came out for a free estimate today. He said we just needed to replace the cartridge and was able to do it on the spot. I was in the market to have a gas line extended to the fireplace, so that I could have a gas log set installed there. I explored Yelp and came up with several options. After reading the reviews, I chose two companies for estimates on installation. We decided on Burtech Plumbing due to reviews and their 1 yr parts and labor guarantee. Yesterday was the day selected for installation. Their installer, Jaime was early, as the office had said he would be there between 10 and noon. He was there at 8:30. Showed him where the line was and he went to work. After the line was installed, he said he could put the gas log set in as well. Great! He installed and tested the log set too. Burtech ended up coming out three times to resolve my plumbing issue. They were prompt and responsive each time, and Burt was really fantastic and personable each time he was here. The only reason I haven't given them 5 stars is that for the second and third visits, they double booked me in the wrong time frame and each time had to call me back and reschedule. That was frustrating, especially during the holidays. Also, they don't seal the bottom of the toilet they removed with silicone, so now we have to do that ourselves. We had grout failure in our primary bath and Burtech recommended Cutting Edge Restoration to open up the walls and dry out the water damage. Cutting Edge was great and responsive. Eli from Burtech came out and provided a very reasonable quote for replacing the bathroom sink hot & cold shutoffs and securing new anchors and nail plates, now that the wall had been opened and we could take this opportunity to repair/update. We were able to schedule him to come back the next day to perform the work, in addition to snaking the two bathroom drains that tended to clog intermittently. Eli is so friendly and professional and showed me exactly what he was doing and why. When he snaked the shower drain, he discovered that whomever built this added on bathroom had dumped stucco/grout down the drain which was very likely the cause of the frequent clogging. He pulled a lot out and provided me with a piece just about the width of the pipe. Our toilet was plugged this past Sunday which was also Mother's Day!--and I had guests coming over for a bbq (including my 100 year old mother-in-law who can't go up stairs to our other bathroom).
