Burton's is a fresh option for healthy American fare. I had a family of five during COVID that visited here for a late lunch. We had pretty good service, though our server did not offer my wife a refill of her drink. They practiced social distancing and required masks for entry. Our table and seating area was sanitized before they seated us so A+ on cleanliness. The one knock is pricing. Mt. Pleasant is known to inflate its prices on just about everything, but I think for what we ordered, it was a bit steep even for Mt. P. But, they do say you pay for quality, and the food was on point. Burtons Grill is the first place that got me hooked on cauliflower - that is no easy feat! There are so many items on this menu that I love that I'm not even sure where to start (obviously at the cauliflower). Almost everything I've had here has been delicious and for the amount of food they serve, you're sure to be full by the end of the meal. The menu has changed a bit since we first started coming here but the quality of the food has not. Another thing I love about this place is the fact that they are so allergy friendly and will do whatever they can to accommodate any requests. They can also modify meals within reason, for example they served me a grilled cheese with tomato bisque even though it's not on the menu. They were able to make me a plain grill cheese sans the short rib and deliver the tomato bisque with the meal instead of the appetizer. It doesn't seem like a big deal but I've been to restaurants where what you see on the menu is what you get, which has it's place as well but I greatly appreciate the fact that at Burtons you can almost customize your meal to suit your preferences without the servers getting annoyed or looking at you like you have two heads. Even if they aren't able to accommodate due to certain food already being cooked into the meal, they are apologetic and offer other options if available. The service is just another one of the things I love about this place, if you couldn't tell after what I just wrote. They are very particular especially when it comes to the gluten free food and only a manager can serve those meals. The gluten free food is even on a square plate to distinguish from the non-gluten free meals. One of the managers, Sean, is always extremely friendly and anytime we're there when he's working he always stops by to say hi and make sure we're more than happy. All of the servers we've had are friendly and welcoming. It is a very professional establishment but also warm and inviting and the prices aren't too ridiculous. Burtons is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the area and I plan on continuing to be a regular here! read more

This was the second time we have been to this place as a family. We sat outside... It was a very nice atmosphere. All the food was very delicious. They treat it seriously, train their staff well, have separate plates to designate dishes for people with allergies, and have trained staff hand-delivering your meal SEPERATE from everyone else's at the table.​ While a bit on the pricy side, it is definitely not a place you should miss. Now to be fair, I'm used to burgers like Crave or Prohibition burgers. This meal was unfortunately an embarrassment to the restaurant. Sloppy pre-formed crap came out with sub-par sweet potato fries (extra $$). The mushrooms and onions had no flavor and fell out everywhere. The meat was not seasoned to taste and it cost $17! Several things about this restaurant make me lean towards an average rating. We had reservations for 7pm on a Saturday and expected it to be busy and It was. It was also quite loud. Drinks and the apps came promptly. Dinner took way too long. Once we finally got the food it was good. Carbonara pasta with steak for me. My wife had the shrimp. Nothing bad about the food it was more the time between appetizers and dinner that was frustrating. Would I go back? I live nearly an hour away from Burton's and mostly go with one of my friends who lives nearby. I always love it when I go. The room is perfectly lit-- low enough to be cozy but not too dark to see the menu. The happy hour offers special prices on drinks and, if you are seated in the bar area, there is also a happy hour food menu. We always sit in the bar area- either at a cafe table or a booth along the wall. Today we shared the rolled zucchini appetizer- thinly sliced zucchini rolled around ricotta cheese filling and topped with tomato sauce. For our meal we both ordered a pasta dish that was on the "whim" menu (is that specials? I'm not sure)- rigatoni with a three meat tomato sauce. My husband and I treated my brother and sister in law to dinner here and really enjoyed it. We had the needed reservation and were seated right away at our table. The place has a nice buzz of activity and the waiter was very attentive. My brother is gluten free and they presented him with a separate but equal menu. ALLERGY FRIENDLY! It's not always an easy task for me to go out to eat when out of town but I was very impressed by how much they pay attention to allergies here. For those with special diets they even have a 'lifestyle' section of their menu which had several healthier items... even paleo meals! I went to this place really on a whim because I liked what I saw on the menu. Although they were completely out of chicken, a distribution problem, my steak with vegetables did not disappoint. It was truly cooked to perfection and the vegetables fresh. Yes, it was a bit pricey at $40, but it was also a 12 ounce sirloin. The staff is quite pleasant and service was very efficient. Burton's never disappoints. I have celiac, so for me, a restaurant that takes food hygiene seriously is crucial. I know that you can trust Burton's for this. I love the Maxx burger with Parmesan fries. This was my first time at this location. I ordered takeout and it took a little longer than normal. I didn't complain and wasn't upset at all, but the manager spontaneously apologized and comped the bill, which was a fantastic gesture. Longtime patron here, who has had everything on the menu, and both dine-in and take-out from this wonderful establishment, giving a review on a recent order: I ordered both the lobster roll with sweet potato fries, as well as the shrimp carbonara pasta for curbside takeout the other day from Burtons Grill of Mt Pleasant, LLC and both were absolutely delicious! The curbside takeout was on time exactly when they told me they estimated they would be bringing the order out to my vehicle. The ordering was easy over the phone and the gentleman taking my order was professional and courteous. First, for the lobster roll w/ sweet potato fries: Big, meaty lump claw meat with just a touch of mayo (and I'm a mayo guy but this was just enough)! The meat on this roll is not simply pieces of lobster; it is all lump claw meat and it is so sweet, tangy, and delicious! The bread is nice and sweet and complements the taste of the lobster. It comes standard with regular fries, but the +$0.99 substitution for the sweet potato fries is especially delicious with the lobster roll because they are sweet and salty just like the roll, so they both go incredibly well together. Next, the carbonara pasta normally comes plain by itself, but the menu allows you to add a protein of your choice for an extra charge (depending on the protein you choose - they are all priced differently). I chose shrimp as my extra protein, and it was a great choice. The pasta was a large shell type of pasta and came with capers and Italian pancetta. The shrimp were tail-on, peeled, fresh jumbo shrimp and were juicy and had a wonderful sear. This provided for a crispy snap with a juicy bite when bitten into. This pasta was delicious, but for Burtons first timers who are on the fence between this or a risotto, I would definitely recommend any Burton's risottos over this, just because the risottos shine just a little more than their pastas, and also moreover, because Burtons are known for their risottos. I still was not disappointed by the pasta, though. It was a delicious new dish to try for a longtime patron who has had literally everything on their menus--from when they opened to now. Overall, I would highly recommend Burtons as a restaurant for families and friends alike. It is a place that has a little something for everyone (they even have vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free menus, as well as are able to accommodate to any special requests and/or allergy concerns), and they do an amazing job on everything they offer. They even have burgers, fish sandwiches, and a wide selection of grilled steaks (my favorite is the ribeye -- sub the twice-baked potato for grilled mushrooms)! Try it for take-out or dine-in--for an appetizer, or a full 4 course meal--you will not be disappointed! Also ask about their membership rewards program, which is free to sign up! *FUN FACT: Rob Zombie's "Halloween" (2018) used Burton's Mt. First, we absolutely recommend Burtons Grill & Bar and we will most definitely will return! Lydia, our server exceeded our expectations in EVERY way. She recommended the crab cakes which were outstanding. Our drinks came promptly and were never less than half full. Our orders were 100% correct, in-spite of my picky changes and our food was presented very nicely. She checked on us multiple times to be sure everything was to our liking. My husband said, more than once, how much he enjoyed the fresh salmon and twice baked potato. He even loved the green beans! Even the people dining at other tables surrounding ours mentioned how pleased they were with their meals. If Marlaine B (Trip Advisor Review) reads my review, this is for her......clearly she should never eat out again, as nothing will ever be good enough for her, ever. Just stay home. I am quite sure you probably abused your server, for which you had no right to do so (based on the fact that you spoke to a manager and dissed the service)! Wow is this food amazing ! We came on a night were some bottles of wine were 1/2 price . That might have helped a little to make the food taste so good . My review of Burton's Grill will have an evolution of updates as the business goes through its soft opening process. Last night, there were drink specials available to those that were on a VIP list which was a nice touch on soft openings. Having attended over 100 new restaurant openings, they typically are a live training session for the FOH and BOH, serving friends and family of workers and owners, some of the menu's offerings. Typically they are crowded, noisy, error clad and slightly chaotic so the idea of a slower approach allows the future customers to peruse the interior and exterior of the location and become more acquainted with the staff and the menu. The decor speaks to a upscale American steak house, but the menu shows soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches and Entree options for lunch (risotto, scallops, salmon and chicken) Dinner menu echo's some of the lunch options, but definitely expands of the seafood and steak choices. They do procure locally and with the Charleston 'buy local' movement, I feel this will pay dividends for Burtons, which for a multi store/multi state business is extremely rare. My next order of business is to head on over there tomorrow for lunch and for dinner as soon as time permits, at which point I will give my thorough review of Burton's Grill of Mt. Pleasant. Decided to pop in for a late lunch around 3pm. I wasn't very hungry so I ordered the buffalo chicken dip and my boyfriend ordered a chicken sandwich. Both were pretty good and we enjoyed the overall meal. There were only three other tables as it was a very slow time. We were a bit disappointed in the service as it took a while to even get our soft drinks we had ordered. We spent much of our time in the restaurant just waiting around for our waitress to appear so that we could attempt to get her attention for refills, the check and also to pick up our credit card. Considering how slow it was, it was just a bit disappointing to have to wait so long for service. Again the food was good, just a slow meal. read more

My mom won a free happy hour special for her and 9 other people, courtesy of Burtons Grill #woot It included 1 free cocktail per person and a sampling of appetizers for the group (two orders each of Memphis Dry Rub Wings, Philly Spring Rolls, Buffalo Chicken Dip). Let me back up a bit and say that the cocktails were awesome and potent. Everyone had nothing but positive things to say about what they ordered to sip. I had the Burtons Mai Tai (for my first round and third rounds...hey, it was a holiday weekend #dontjudgeme) and the Brazilian Punch (which definitely packed a punch and looked really cool with its crushed ice and purple hue). Our wait staff brought out rolls for us to munch on while we waited for the appetizers. I'd go back to Burtons for the rolls alone. But not only were the rolls amazing, so were the appetizers. We ended up ordering even more apps after the free ones we had. Unfortunately, I was too stuffed to order any of the entrees. Fortunately, that gives me a valid reason to return the next time I'm home. On top of the great dranks and food, the service we received was some of the best I've ever had.
