After a long day of driving we needed dinner and fast because we were starving. Seated right away in a comfy booth, friendly service and the food was great!

Oh My Word! I was so pleasantly surprised by this place. We've worn out West Ashley and haven't had much new in a long time so we made the trek to Mt. P. I am so glad we did! I'd give this place 5 stars for the food alone. But let me get to the basics. We felt under dressed. It felt like fine dining. Linen Napkins, water Carafe on the table, Very clean atmosphere. Decorated very nice. The price of the food reflects this. It was over $100 for three people with tip and only a six dollar appetizer with no alcohol. The Waiter was slow. We waited a long time for basic things such as drink refills and to pay for the check. I went to the bathroom and back before he even came back to take our payment. He dropped off the bill, walked away.. I waited five minutes.. got up to go to the bathroom, came back and he still had not returned. The place was not busy. We waited another five minutes and were getting ready to go look for him when he showed up. That was the only downfall of the day. The food, The Food was amazing. I ordered the General Tso Bowl. Omg it was so good. We've literally found our new favorite place. The Gluten Free Options were so many! I have been GF for over a year now and have found it is very difficult to eat out at most places. But this place has so much to choose from! We will go back over and over it is that good!

You are greeted with a smile. Burtons is a perfect place for people that have celiac or gluten intolerance. The staff are always very accommodating and knowledgeable about cross contamination. There are a multitude of gluten free options such as cheese steak rolls and donuts. The donuts are on the weekend brunch menu and I wish they were on the dinner menu. Every season, Burtons adds new items to the menu. The interior decor is very minimalistic; however, very beautiful. Overall, Burtons is a phenomenal experience

Outstanding! The 3 of us ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese, the wings and the Shrimp salad. The read appetizer was terrific too. Service was AMAZING! Definitely would come back!

A short rib grilled cheese sandwich, whaaat? Sign me up, please. I have a complaint. Too much to eat in one sitting. Lol. Mt Pleasant is SO much.more than when I lived here in 1994. This is a chain restaurant I can't wait to take the hubby to in Atlanta, now that we live in Savannah. The sandwich was excellent, service was wonderful and the place had a pub feel to it.

They are very sensitive to allergies, great place to go if you are Gluten Free. They have a dedicated GF menu. Service was fine, booths are cozy. The kids menu allows kids to choose up to 3 different sides. My daughter was excited for the pudding cup. The shrimp was flavorful and plump. The GF pasta was good. The soup was ok, would have been better with crackers or some bread or something for the $14 bowl. There were also no chunks of crab in the soup.

We stopped in hoping for fresh salmon but learned it was farm-raised, not wild-caught -- kind of a bummer. I do appreciate that they're allergy-aware; we avoid seed oils, and they were great about cooking with olive oil. The server mentioned their fryer uses canola, so fried food was off the table. Our server was friendly and on it. We tried the Cajun Shrimp Pasta -- not much heat, and the shrimp were a bit overcooked. The garden salads were fine but not worth the price. For a scratch kitchen, I expected a little more flavor and flair. The place was comfortable and dog-friendly on the patio, which I loved. Overall: great service, decent atmosphere, but the food didn't wow me. Glad we tried it once, but I wouldn't rush back.

    Sooooo good!

Went after doing the walk through on our new home. Knew we couldn't overdo as we had dinner reservations and this place had decent reviews and was close to our hotel. Nice space that is very popular. Our server Presley , was outstanding. Friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Couldn't ask for more. I love a Caesar salad, but rarely get them these days because I don't think anyone can make a dressing as good as mine. This was delicious!!!! I asked for the dressing on the side as people tend to way overdress salads these days and I'm glad I did because the dressing was everything I like and so good we used it as a dipping sauce for French fries. Presley informed us you could buy containers of it so I will definitely be back for that! The fries were tasty , but they were cold. Presley did offer to replace, but they tasted good, so we declined. Now to the best part! We had been craving a good burger and the pictures looked great so that's what we had. Usually order medium even though I prefer MR , but I had a feeling they could pull it off so we went for it. Best burger I have eaten in years! Juicy, but the bun held up. Crisp additions. The flavor was incredible. I was sorry we had decided to split everything due to our dinner plans and I coveted my husband's half. He felt the same. So we both protected our plates. lol. Wine was cold and tasty. What I especially liked was the hospitality which I have sorely missed living in Florida. It's nice to be home.

A holiday cocktail with vodka, citrus and white cranberry

A spontaneous Friday night dinner - a perfect start to the weekend. This restaurant was the bustling hot spot and yet the service was as perfect as always. The four of us each had a different meal and each one of us enjoyed every bite. We started off with a holiday cocktail and some she-crab soup. I ordered the Thai steak salad. It came with toasted slices of lotus root, which upgraded the presentation delightfully. The others in party ate the Ahi Tuna Bowl, Cajun Shrimp Pasta and the NY Strip (served with bone marrow butter, seasonal veggies and garlic mashed potatoes). The whole meal was delicious, as expected, and Burton's did not disappoint. We sat next to the "moss wall" this time. It's very interesting.

I went here for Sunday brunch. I was celebrating an occasion with a group of friends. Our waitress was so nice and professional. They had a nice variety on the menu. The waffle was more cake-like, but good. The chicken was seasoned good. I didn't like my hash browns. I think mine were cooked a little too long. I would definitely go back. I couldn't try any drinks this time as I was on-call for my job. They have patio seating. We had a great time.

This is the most beautiful Beet salad, not only is it beautiful it is also delicious. A must try.

It was one of those moments when they told us they were full, but two people left the bar at the same time. We were so lucky! So many people were waiting. We also loved the fries that garnished it; they were almost like a hash brown. We also shared a pasta with ricotta that was incredible. We ended the evening with a gin drink that was featured on the menu. So glad we were able to eat here!

Despite being ready when reservations opened, the best we could manage was a lunch reservation. No worries though because lunch at Obstinate Daughter is better than no Obstinate Daughter at all. We were able to find parking in the neighborhood and had a short walk to Middle Street. From the moment we entered the establishment, I understood the hype. Our server, Sara H., was wonderful throughout the entire meal and we kicked things off with cocktails: the Abandon Ship and All Hands on Deck. Both were excellent and set the tone for what turned out to be one of the best meals of our trip - and there were a lot of highlights!!! I also ordered the Tuna Crudo special, which was incredibly fresh and a great way to start my meal. For the table, we shared the Local Lettuce Salad, the Farro with Chicken, and the Moultrie Pizza. Everything was seriously fantastic. The Local Lettuce Salad was simple but executed perfectly with croutons, parmesan, egg, and buttermilk vinaigrette. The Moultrie Pizza, topped with pepperoni, Mepkin Abbey shiitake mushrooms, tomato, mozzarella, and parmesan, disappeared quickly. And the true star of the meal for me was the Farro with Chicken. The combination of Brussels sprouts, peanuts, balsamic, black truffle, and perfectly cooked chicken was absolutely incredible. If I lived nearby, I would order this dish again and again without hesitation. Considering the restaurant's location on Sullivan's Island and its well-earned reputation, I also thought the prices were relatively reasonable. I loved the vibes. It was packed but the service never wavered. This meal was so, so, so, so, so good. In fact, if we could have snagged another reservation during the same trip, I absolutely would have returned. The hype is real. Obstinate Daughter is worth it!

The butter bean succutash, which I never had before, contained butter beans, black eyed peas, corns, green and red peppers and red onions. It was delicious but since beans are of high FODMAP, I only had a little. The fish was topped with tomato jam made with crushed tomatoes, onions and sugar. It was served chilled. Paired well with the fish and succutash. The soup was creamy, silky, and full of flavor from cauliflower. The pistachio added some crunchiness to it. The taste of "green apple" was not obvious; in fact I was expecting there to be some apple slices, which could add extra texture and sourness to this rich soup. I also asked for a side of sourdough. A bit too salty for me. The service was kinda slow, except that food came out in reasonable amoutn of time **after I placed the order**, that is, I waited quite a while to order my food. She failed to indicate that they have off the menu items, and specials on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. It was kind of hard to choose since I had been eating seafood all week leading up to this visit and also trying to avoid fried foods this year. I ended up choosing the mussels and bowl of gumbo, along with a sweet tea. The tea tasted fairly similar to a lipton sweet tea from the soda fountain and not really something homemade and infused with fresh juices. Mussels - these were really good. Even if half of the mussels fell out into the broth during preparation. Gumbo - this was kind of questionable. My colleague also saw the redish hue of the liquid and said he was glad he didn't order it. It was filled with a lot of seafood, but the liquid was just too creamy. My colleague also commented on the etouffee that was being brought out to other nearby tables and supposedly it looked too dry. I also ordered a to go dessert. The bread pudding.
