This is located in such a nice place. As soon as you walk by you can see a lovely patio set up with string lights. I absolutely love the ambiance as soon as you walk in. I came on a Sunday and was able to see their newly introduced brunch menu that had plenty of delicious options but I opted to check out their regular menu. Looking through the menu they had plenty of options for any palette. They do make everything from scratch so if there were certain foods you didn't like the could easily take it out and substitute anything else which is a plus for picky eaters. I ended up getting the fish tacos and the presentation and portion was perfect for a casual lunch. Everything was perfectly cooked and I had no issues with the dish at all. My mother being vegetarian got the quinoa vegetarian dish which was pretty fantastic, good to see that their vegetarian options do have great flavour. I will definitely be going back soon to try other dishes! So far everyone that I've talked to have really enjoyed this place. It definitely is worth checking out during the evening. read more

My friends had recently visited so decided to try this place out. Food and drinks prices are on the higher end especially for the Sterling area. The drinks were nice. My husband and I tried some cocktails and beers. We started off with the sashimi appetizer, smaller portion for the price. Tasted fine. Nothing special We sat outside. In the beginning we felt like our waitress was rushing us, kept pressing us to order. Towards the end we had to ask for her several time. We ordered the strawberry shortcake for dessert. It was a ordinary biscuit with high fructose corn syrup strawberry's on it and whip cream. It was disgusting tasting. We had to to tell our server to take it back. Overall, for these kind of prices I will not be returning. So many other great places around with much better food! read more

I've been coming here since they opened. Everything on the menu is great! They make some changes from time to time and accommodate guests extremely well! While some feel it's a bit pricy, it's well worth it; you get what you pay for and you get a lot of good, made from scratch with a great chef food. I'd recommend their steaks as they make the other steak houses in the area pale in comparison. I've asked before how they make their steaks and get a knowing nod and some tch explanations but the secret is in the seasoning and cooking methods -- tastes amazing! Excellent food and staff. They have the friendly atmosphere cornered. The food is very expensive ($50 for three people), but the quality of the food is also very good. The wait staff takes extra time to ensure any allergies are properly understood and the food is prepared correctly. Even when there are multiple similar dishes (i.e. burgers with cheese versus without cheese), they make sure to properly identify the allergy fish to ensure it goes to the right person when bringing it out. For a family with young kids, this relieves a lot of worries considering you're entrusting someone else to correctly look at the ingredients of every piece of food. We don't go here very often because of the price, but when we do go, it's always enjoyable! read more

This was our first visit to Burtons in Sterling. At first glance the menu prices are on the high end, but fortunately this was lunch time and they had $10 specials that included burgers, fish and chips, and California Chicken sandwich. We tried all three and they were quite good and ample at a bargain price. The decor is modern in a large facility and they added outdoor seating in plastic domes with heaters. We dined in since it was a cold day and one quibble is that social distancing was probably less than 6 ft when diners were seated in a booth just behind us. Otherwise food and service were good and the lunch specials are a bargain (not sure what days it is available). read more

I have been to Burton's many times but felt compelled to write a review based on our most recent experience. Food is always good and we love that they are very conscious of allergy issues, but they went above and beyond last time to ensure we enjoyed our meal. We both enjoyed the crab crusted haddock and instead of the rice and broccoli they substituted risotto and a side salad. The meal was the best we've had there - everything was fabulous. Would definitely recommend - and don't be shy about asking for substitutions as they are more than happy to make the meal what you want based on food restrictions, or even just preferences, if possible. read more

We had a fantastic dining experience this evening! This was a reschedule from Saturday night (Feb 13th) when we were unable to get to the restaurant due to the ice storm. We sat out in a bubble on the patio which was pretty cool. We were a little bummed that the Valentine's weekend menu was no longer available but that dissolved quickly when we saw that some of the selections from the Valentine's menu were available on the weekly specials. My son had the rack of lamb, my friends each had the salmon romescu, and I had the crab crusted haddock. We all agreed our food was delicious! The hot tea we ordered (tropical green tea) was so yummy we had seconds. And we all took a little taste test of my son's red velvet cake - it was INCREDIBLE! I had my family up from Richmond on July the 3rd to celebrate Independence Day early. This included my father who is a Veteran and rarely gets to travel these days due to mobility issues. The restaurant had a very nice ambiance and our party size was large as well (10 + an additional 3 at the last minute) but the Burtons staff wasted no time accommodating our party and last minute changes. Our server name was Maria and she was incredible at her job, very warm and genuinely pleasant in a very humanly way. The food was simply superb, out of all 13 party members there wasn't one complaint, only accolades and questions about how I found this place! Will I be back? Yes. Dino typically ends up being the bartender for us and he really takes care of us. When we ordered food, I had mentioned something about onions and not liking raw onions and he said, Oh we can grill them up for you, if you like. I'm like, yeah, I do like. So, they're not afraid to go off menu a bit which is a plus for me. His service is spot on, he's appropriately friendly and his pours are good. The prices are more than I like to spend on a regular basis so I'll probably go to more happy hour friendly places but Burtons will definitely be in the rotation schedule. :-) read more

My husband and I took my parents out to Burton's a few weeks ago and we had a great night! First and foremost, the service was excellent from start to finish -- Several team members asked if we had any dietary restrictions as they specialize in accommodating specific dietary needs (gluten free, nut free, etc.). This wasn't necessary for our group, but it is nice to know. We started with a round of adult beverages and the General Tso Cauliflower... holy moly!! I've never liked cauliflower so much in my life! He was so knowledgeable about the menu and the first thing he asked us was if we had any allergies so he can let the kitchen know and they would accommodate - I loved this! His recommendations were on point and he was very honest about the menu and what the favorite dishes were. Came in and was greeted right away by friendly hostesses and then sat at a table waiting for friends to come. Had 2 Coronas and bartender was cool and friendly as well. 5:45 was my reservation and seated promptly. Started with wings dry rub appetizer which We felt were too salty. The main entrees were delicious! Server was excellent but only thing is he speaks too fast when doing the introduction to first time guests. Went for a business lunch and had a great experience. Unfortunately I couldn't take pictures because I didn't want to look like a total millennial, but I promise it looked as good as it tasted! We shared the philly spring rolls as an appetizer. They came out hot and had a unique flavor. I probably wouldn't get them again, but they were still very good, and cheesy! One person got the fried haddock sandwich with fries. It looked great, and he said it was very fresh and light for being fried. The other guest and I ordered the superfood salad with grilled chicken. The portion size was huge, and it was packed with flavor. It didn't taste like a "health nut" salad. The chicken was so moist and their house seasoning was so good. RSVP'd dinner for my husband birthday, we are locals but had never dined here. To begin their Berry Bilss cocktail was awesome (special menu), the mojito not so much. I liked that our server asked if we had any food allergies or preferences. We lead with we eat vegetarian foods so she proceeded to give us some options. We went with the cauliflower General Tso appetizer, very tasty would totally recommend for anyone. I kept it light with a chopped wedge salad, since I was enjoying my cocktail so much I didn't want to stuff myself. My husband ordered the black bean tacos with seasoned fries. Fires were delicious but the tacos were underwhelming, perhaps black bean patty is best left between 2 buns. The outside and inside of the restaurant is beautiful very attractive for a date night. My friend lives not too far away from here and suggested this place to try last weekend while I was visiting her. They have a pretty awesome separate gluten free menu that you can even view on their website to get a better ide of what your options will be. Luckily, it wasn't too busy when we arrived so we were able to get seated right away They had some interesting summer specials like a salad with burrata cheese, prosciutto, balsamic, and tomatoes. I decided to split this with my friend as an appetizer and I'm glad I did because it was delicious! The saltiness from the prosciutto helped counterbalance the sweetness from the balsamic while the creaminess from the burrata rounded it all out. It was simple and refreshing at the same time. For dinner, I vacillated between playing it safe and ordering the ribs or trying something different like the haddock. I really don't like fishy fish because I don't really enjoy tasting the ocean but luckily haddock is a more mild fish so I decided on the crab crusted haddock. The nice thing about Burton's is that, for some of their entrees, you can get a small or large dish depending on how hungry you are. The fish came out cooked perfectly. It was nice and flaky. There was a good amount of crab crusted on top as well. The lemon butter sauce was a nice acidic flavor that rounded out the dish. My only complaint would be that there wasn't enough of it on the plate. As a side, I got a twice baked potato which was super creamy and very filling. Our server came to check on us a couple of times and answered all of my questions while I debated the merits of which dish would be better. Parking is pretty easy too since it's in a shopping center so if there's a wait, you can always go grocery shopping! Overall: no wait time + good seasonal salad + really good fish = I will definitely come back to try other things here since I'll be heading back this way anyways! read more

Burtons is a favorite of my sister's, and it certainly did not disappoint! Everything I ate and drank was absolutely delicious. I had the chicken piccata with no spinach, and it's one of the best dishes I've ever had. The chocolate cake at the end of the meal was a delight as well! All of the staff were delightful and always ready to serve, too. I left my wallet at the restaurant, but thanks to the staff at Burtons, I was able to recover it with no problems at all!
