Cannot say enough good things about this place! I had a birthday/going away group of around 20 people, and last minute we weren't able to go where we originally planned. In a panic, I called Buster's Bistro and within a few minutes i heard the magical words of "come on over". Not only did they give us a perfect section, they put up a "happy birthday" sign, had the DJ make an announcement, and overall just went above and beyond from the minute we walked in. The food was very tasty (hello meatloaf!) and the beer list is always incredible/full of beers you don't find anywhere else. After the 327 Ladies Supper Dinner's Cinco de Mayo dinner, some of the ladies and I went to Buster's Bistro. We only had to walk to the next block. We had these delicious lemon drops. They are $3 every day. After I devoured my lemon drop, I ordered a bottle of Kasteel Rouge. It also came a little snack of tortilla chips. pretzels and Cheetos. Kasteel Rouge has a great cherry and the taste made me want more. The owners Paulii & Christine gave us their personal attention. I will be going back there for sure. As one of our favorite places for years, we were disappointed by everything about our experience today. Not only was the service absolutely horrifying, but they didn't know how to make a Bloody Mary or Spanish coffee. I was told by the bartender that it's not a Bloody Mary type of bar and she didn't have hot sauce. Nor did I get a lime, celery or garnish of any kind. I've had bloody Mary's at busters many, many time so this seemed very strange. My friends Spanish coffee was a shot in a cup of coffee with three sugar packets and sides of cream. After being told they were out of Spanish coffee, was offered a espresso coffee anyway. Wtf? It's a mess over there and we will not be back until y'all figure this shit out. read more

It's on my top list of food. They make it perfectly, it's so flavorful. It was so good I wanted to kiss the cook. But that would be weird since I don't know the cook. Had possibly one of the best dining experiences I've ever had in my life at Buster's Bistro in Sanford last night. How is this hidden gem not posted about more? Our server Lou was a legend and had the energy of ten people; knowledgeable about the entire menu including one of the best drink menus you can find. Wife and I got the bistro board and poutine to start. The board was a legendary combination of Belgium charcuterie - huge portion just like the poutine. Throughout dining, just about every employee there checked on each table and the energy was great. I got the fish and chips which Lou said was the best in town...best in town? Nope. Best I've ever had. Truthfully. It was insanely good and was like a butter texture it was perfect. Wife got the chicken sandwich which could have easily been basic and was nothing of the such. She couldn't stop raving about it. Overall, this place is a must if you ever say, "let's try something new for dinner" and you won't be disappointed. We loved the experience we had the first time we ate here. Couldn't wait to return. So we brought our friends so they could enjoy. Our was the owner's birthday and no one's mind was on the kitchen. The steak frites were awful! The steak was overcooked even though we explicitly requested medium rare. The frites were greasy and overcooked. Been here several times now and always end up staying for hours. A couple of times now we've wandered in on a Saturday afternoon, sat at the bar, and watched old music videos over some apps and beer. The beer selection is stellar. I've also been for breakfast a few times and never been disappointed. It is normally dog friendly (although that may have changed since covid). This is also the only restaurant I've been to recently that is taking temps (by forehead) at the door and providing hand sanitizer when you walk in, which I appreciate. read more

My gf and I visited this place after a day of canoeing at a local state park. We came at the perfect time, as it was about 30 minutes before a World Cup match, featuring Germany began. Very nice spot to watch a soccer game. Looking around the interior, it almost felt like we were in a European pub. I had a couple of Triple Karmeliet beers. Very smooth Belgian triple, with a little punch at 8.6 abv! As for food, I had the Premiere sandwich and my gf had the croque, both of these guys were awesome! This place is fantastic. They have an amazing selection of Belgian beers, which are delicious, and far superior to most domestic craft beers I have tried. Basically you have just walked into a Belgian sports bar. I happened to be fortunate enough to come on a day when they had quite a few barrel aged beers. For food I had the chicken tikka masala. The majority of their menu is Belgian but hey have a couple of Indian dishes as well. Suffice it to say they do them well. There are also vegetarian options. Buster's is a local Belgium pub which we would dine at least once a month for the past several years. During the week it is quiet and very little customers. Food was outstanding. I say was because we will not longer be customers of Buster's Bistro. This is the second time we have attempted to dine on a weekend with no success. The first time the restaurant was reserved for a fund raising event. We were disappointed but understood they were supporting the community. This evening we arrived at 6:20 and half the tables were full while the other half were empty with balloons and a sign stating reserved. I walked around the bar looking for other tables and the server stopped me to tell me I couldn't go back there in a rude tone and walked away. I was taken aback because this is where the games and bathrooms were located. She didn't offer to help me or ask what I was looking for. After waiting about 10 minutes 2 groups of customers left. We waited for one to be cleaned and sat down (3 of us in total). After being ignored for several more minutes. The same server came to the table and told us we could sit there. I asked her why she was refusing to serve us and she said she had a party coming in at 7:00 which she needed the table for. I told her we had been there since 6:20 and were there now with money willing to pay. I asked if we could sit at the other table people had left from and she said no- but we can sit with the people sitting by the front door (already in the middle of their appetizer) if we wanted. At that point I realized she just wanted to get rid of us, regular customers which support their business during the week on a regular basis- when there is not a Holiday / Special event. Don't worry Buster's Bistro & overworked server that doesn't want our money, we will not be back. There are plenty of other establishments much closer to our house we will visit and recommend to others. read more

Great food, atmosphere and friendly staff makes this a must stop in Sanford. Sanford is becoming quite the foodie town.

My favorite spot in downtown Sanford. I generally go here to drink, but I've had some of the food and it's all been good. After 10pm, they run a limited food menu. On Friday's, they have a band (can be hit or miss) and on Saturday they have a DJ. I typically prefer the DJ, since the crowd tends to be a bit more upbeat on the DJ nights. I always enjoy playing "shut the box" which is a cool game they have on each table. If you stay late enough, you'll also get the pleasure of seeing "shadow" the (dog) owner of the place, a Belgian shepherd. My only gripe with busters is that they recently raised the prices on their craft cocktails from $5 to $7. Honestly, it's still a good price, but one of the reasons I used to frequent busters was that they essentially had a "happy hour price" on cocktails all night long. I'll still come here, but the extra $2 on my gin cucumber cocktail will make me feel some way for a while. I'll get over it though. read more

They have a wide selection of drinks- lots of beers on tap, full liquor bar, and canned beers/ciders in fridge as well. After visiting Buster's for drinks once before I was hoping to try some of their food this time. Unfortunately we ordered food and drinks and got the drinks but 40 minutes later we closed out our tab and left hungry. We were seated at the bar directly in front of the bartender, but it was a chore to get him to take our tab so we could pay and move on. Good selection of beer and food. Buster's was an amazing place at the old location and is now even better at the new spot. It has become a huge success. The place is incredibly clean, and beautifully decorated. The Belgian beer selection is unique and simply phenomenal and the food is stellar. Even though the new location is 3 times the size of the old one, the wonderful owners and bartenders still manage to make the place feel like home. Because of Buster's much larger new location, the bar now has full bands that perform several times a month. It even has its own house band called Delirium that performs to a full house every time. In addition to full bands, Buster's still brings in highly popular single and duo entertainment that has always performed there. The pricing is extremely reasonable for such quality food, especially at brunch. The staff is down-to-earth, genuine, and extremely knowledgeable about Belgian beer. Paul and Harry are deeply invested in the Sanford community and make everyone feel like family. We've hosted a number of special events here (baby showers, rehearsal dinners, etc), and each time the custom catering menu has been outstanding. Harry is very flexible in terms of special requests for specific foods, and is fearless when it comes to trying things out.
