We enjoyed a pleasant meal in a clean cafe this morning. The view out the window was awesome, the service was delivered with a genuine smile, and the food was amazing! I had the Avocado Toast, served on challah bread with creamy mashed avocados, buttery scrambled eggs, arugula, and micro greens! Yummy! Go for the tater tots and you will not be disappointed. The coffee (an americano) was perfect - better than the big chain and appropriately priced. We'll be coming back for more soon. The sweet treats in the case were calling loudly to us! read more

UPDATE: Tried this place again after lots of disappointment and it was the worst idea. Sloppily made food, tony portions & the rudest Karen ever working as a manager (petite, brunette woman). I don't know her actual name but she puts all other Karen's to shame. Someone wanted their eggs remade because they wanted egg whites & it was clearly whole eggs (yellow af) & she straight up said, those are egg whites. Also witnessed a woman questioning why her dish came with arugula instead of romaine lettuce like the menu said, manager's response: we make it with arugula now, I can give you a side of arugula. My drink was completely wrong and when she was asked to please remake it she stated "it was made right the first time, I can just refund you." Calmly explained that I didn't drive back for a refund, I'd like my drink made correctly, the way I had it the first time I ordered it (hazelnut frappe with oat milk). Drink remade, worse than the 1st one cause it was like iced coffee with zero hazelnut flavor. 3 words: MANNERS. COMMUNICATION. LOGIC. This manager, and truly this whole establishment embodies the complete LACK of all 3 of those components. And above all else, who TF wants to pay $14 for crappy, mushy French toast & underripe fruit tossed on top. You got me twisted. My biggest regret? Not throwing my pancakes in Karen's face. Ate at Butter Cafe & Bakery this morning with my family. Our Order: 1. Breakfast Tacos- Meat:bacon - it was a perfect portion and the taste was fresh and good. It came with breakfast potatoes which were a little spicy with too much black pepper. I should have gotten the tater tots. 2. Waffle- even though the waffle was not as brown as I would prefer, overall the taste and consistency was perfect. 3. Greens eggs & ham - this was the best dish we had. The flavor was very good and fresh. Comes with tater tots that were nice and crispy. We will definitely be back. Looking forward to trying their lunch. Also the bakery items look amazing! read more

This place was good, me and my friend split a burrito and got 2 matcha lattes which were bomb. The burrito was fresh and was BIG. My only pet peeve is that it was kinda pricey and the people who packed our burrito did not wrap it properly so it spilled out :( Besides that, this place is pretty good and I will def be back. read more

First time here. Had heard really good things about the food. Was not expecting it to be a walk up to order type place. They were out of quite a few things (orange juice, biscuits, frappe mix) and told me it was going to be an hour wait for food. This seemed crazy since it wasn't too busy, several tables were open, and it was 11:30 am on a Sunday. Ordered two muffins to snack on while we waited the hour for the food. They were both very delicious. When the food was ready, it did take that hour, the portions were huge! We tried the breakfast burrito, biscuit sandwich (they ended up having biscuits after all) and chicken fried steak and eggs. All the food was very hot and tasted great. Only issue with the food was you had to ask for all the condiments. Salt, pepper, butter (which was vey hard and cold), jelly, salsa etc. I was surprised the toast came dry. Poor customer service. I came in their with my baby and tried to order this kids meal. I asked if I could substitute the pancakes with french toast and the first girl behind the counter tried telling me that the meal doesn't with pancakes, at which point I needed to show the cashier the menu above her head which clearly read that it does. So then girl #2 comes to the counter and tells me no. In response, I politely asked if I paid extra money if I could have the substitution. This girl tells me no again, even if I pay extra they won't allow my baby to have french toast. Just all around incompetence and unwilling to please their paying customers, even when offered additional money. read more

Decided to try this place after seeing the many positive reviews. First surprise was the sticker shock - $15.99 for a burger with tater tots on the side? I do admit that the description showed 2 6 oz. beef patties. Who needs 12 oz. of beef in a burger? We thus decided to split a "California Burger". Price before tip for 1 burger and 1 drink = $19! And this is for walk-up, call-your-name-out service! Last disappointment - the burger was mehhh. Extremely salty and the avocado had a strong, funky taste. Tater tots were overdone to hard crunch. Such a great place ! And I'm soo happy there is one close by to our home... we usually go to the one in San Dimas but we saw they opened another Butter Cafe close by our puppy salon and we were sooo happy ! We love if here !!! All the pastries are delicious ! Service is always great and cute little spot. Today we got the iced matcha honey latte, breakfast sandwich and challah French toast. The French toast is to die for !!! Omg so soft fluffy and buttery goodness!!! My sister got the country fried steak and omg cooked to perfection! Not oily or greasy not too much breading but cooked just right and the gravy was not salty at all ... my favorite place of all time! read more

I just ate the BEST breakfast burrito ever! I picked up the burrito and an amazing coffee cake. This gem in the IE is now going to be my go to breakfast spot. But why stop with just breakfast. This eatery also has an amazing complete menu of other meal options. Oh wait, before I finish they also serve excellent coffee. Butter also has GF, Vegan, Vegetarian options. Came here for a late breakfast/lunch around 11. It was pretty busy- but there was plenty of seating. We ordered the Challah toast, an iced vanilla latte, and the chicken bacon avocado burger. All were delicious and came out super fast. The toast was pretty sweet - similar to a French toast. The iced vanilla latte was pretty tasty as well... but my favorite was the burger. Food was alright mediocre. I thought the convenience was great the Aviance was nice the breakfast burrito looked good. I ordered the Avocado toast with pouches eggs . The presentation was lovely BUT it was a disappointment. The bread was not toasted it may have had a slight grill on it but using brioche bread for avocado toast made it more like a avocado sandwich I didn't like having to fold it over, also I thought it was going to be fresh avocado. The pouched eggs where also hard boiled so you can imagine sticking your fork in the yolk to let the yolk flow out and it hard . Total disappointment!! I did not complain at all. I was also charged for two teas instead of one I told the gentleman taking my order but he didn't get it so I paid $7.50 for two teas I did not want I told the gentleman if it's not black ice tea I don't like it but I can taste it and see if it would work. I did not like it I asked to exchange it for a coffee and even offered to pay the difference. Immediately a tall light man walk up asked me what was my problem I explained he was kind of rude and was like I'll just refund the drink. I explained I did not want a refund just to exchange he was so upset I'll refund it I said, I told him I did not want a refund he could keep the money and I just won't drink anything. 3.5 stars My family and I came here for New Year's Eve breakfast. I got the huevos rancheros. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal! The only complaint I would have is the salsa itself. It was a little bitter in taste but I enjoyed my eggs, the tortillas, avocados, cheese, and the salad and dressing I got as the side. My moms waffles were burnt on the bottom side which was sad that they would still serve a burnt waffle :( their omelette is not bad...I'm going to come back to try their drinks and their other dishes next time. I've been going to the chino location for a couple years now and am thrilled there's one closer to me now! The food is excellent and the couple that owns it is nice with excellent service. I do think the menu is a bit confusing compared to the chino location. For instance "lunch specials" has sandwiches and salads but they aren't labeled so I had to ask if one of the items was a salad, sandwich, or wrap. So a more detailed explanation would be helpful. But great job opening a new location and getting it running smoothly so quickly! read more

I noticed Butter on a day I took my dog to his vet for a physical. Decided to take my husband the next day. The coffee wasn't too bad, nothing amazing about it. The food was very good, just wasn't too fond of the outdoor situation. The trashcan were filled beyond the point of return. Trash was on the ground and the area smelled because of it. If that was handled better, I wouldn't mind going back since the food and coffee were pretty good. read more

This place always delivers. I've had a few different items over the last couple months and I love them all. The salmon toast and breakfast sandwich with tots are my favorite. They have a sign saying they're a little slow due to COVID but we've had no issues. Great service and friendly staff. We even had a manager bring us waters while we waited for takeout outside. Zucchini bread is super dense and flavorless. The matcha honey latte tasted more like watered down grass than matcha. Couldn't finish either. My boyfriend had a triple lemon pound cake (looks like a muffin) dry and dense. The 'chocolate' mocha (isn't that what mocha is?) was ok. A friend of mine invited me for breakfast. She's been to the location in La Verne and couldn't say nothing better about it, she said it was amazing and I always trust her judgment because she always takes me to great spots! It was both our first time at this location. I ordered a black tea (that wasn't really black tea it was earl gray) and chilaquiles. She had an omelette with egg whites. I was so disappointed, it was so over priced for what we both got. Description of my cold chilaquiles: Hard shell tortilla chips (store bought, not made fresh) Canned black beans (i could taste the metal) Not sure how the salsa was made (not fresh) Shredded cheese i think it was cheddar (not fresh) melted over the chips. Tomato, onion, avocado and 2 eggs. I don't remember if there was sour cream (i didn't add meat) It looked and tasted as if it was all piled up together and placed in the microwave. More like nachos!!!!! And something my kids would make at home. Her omelette was very sad looking, and potatoes cold. I would give it a 2.5 but i can't, so i went with a 3 star because service was good, and location was clean. PS. She did mentioned the location in La Verne they serve you in actual utensils, plates and mugs, unlike here it's all disposable. There is a high chance i wouldn't return or recommend this place. Came here for breakfast after ordering we waited 30 mins for our food to be ready, even though we were the only people in the cafe. We paid a good amount for mediocre food, one plate was cold the other one was hot. When the food did come out, there were no condiments on the plate, all things that should've come with the meal. I went up to the worker to ask for ketchup, butter, jam, he seemed bothered that I was interrupting his time on his phone. Overall any place would be better for breakfast for this price, NOT worth the wait or money. read more
