I was looking for a place to have a nice brunch with my mom and my 6 month old baby. We stumbled upon Buttermilk and I've already heard great things about it so I walked right in to ask for a table. The host seemed almost bothered by me inquiring about a high chair or a table with a room for a stroller. She sat us at a booth even after I said it might not fit the carseat but decided to give it a try as I felt uncomfortable saying no again. It didn't work out for us it was very tight and when I went to ask to switch tables I felt like I was bothering her again. The server was great as was the food. A little bit on the expensive side for brunch but the food portions are well worth it. It doesn't seem family friendly and the energy as you walk in could be a little bit more welcoming but I'd love to go there again for the food. read more

Just came back from my 2nd time at buttermilk it has became one of my favorites what stood out was My first visit to Buttermilk in Geneva a couple of months ago was fantastic! The food was delicious, with a great variety of breakfast and brunch options that were all cooked to perfection. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional service from Giselle, the hostess. For my meal, I ordered the eggs your way over-hard with a side of potatoes and lemon blueberry pancakes. I would definitely get again and was happy to bring home leftovers! You could easily split this with two people. My husband is not much of a breakfast person, so he only got a side order of the corned beef hash. He wished that the beef was shredded instead of in chunks. This place never disappoints and is worth the wait...and wait you might since it tends to be a jumping place. My favorite is the towanda omelet but today I tried a fried green tomato Benedict and the cherry bourbon French toast while my husband tried the chaquiles. Everyone who's dine here will agree that the food and service is exceptional. My only issue is weekend and there method used on there waitlist. We had joined the waitlist with a window of 70 to 80 minutes. We arrived within that window only to be told that we had to wait additional 20 minutes and was informed the app is quote a little off. I've been to this establishment a couple of times for brunch it's always pretty packed and tend to join the waitlist on the Yelp app but sometimes it can move a little quicker than the suggested time. The food is pretty good, I typically have an iced coffee with oat milk. I enjoy the Stuffed Biscuit, I haven't had anything else that stands out but I also haven't navigated their menu all that much. We had 4 diners and we all were very happy with our food! If you are a lemon/blueberry fan, you have to get the pancakes! I would go out of my way for those again. Overall, the menu prices were on the high side, but give me great food and I really don't care. Super busy on the weekends so plan for a wait. We went on a Thursday about 10:30, the restaurant was pretty full and parking was a bit of an issue. If you come across a little waiting, there's a nice path that follows the right across the bridge that's nice to walk on. As for the place itself, I ordered the Chorizo Gravy n' Biscuits. Located on the corner, a block from the river. Delightfully Open light and airy. We were seated Wednesday morning without a wait. Service was quick and our server, Julia, was happy friendly and helpful. Thè omelet portions we huge so we split The Frenchie omelet and added some extras. The omelet was light and fluffy and full of wild mushrooms and Brie- delicious. The pancakes were thick light and fluffy. The breakfast potatoes were yummy and not greasy at all.
