Byrd's Rebel Sandwich Byrd's Bites with fries

Cute strip mall offering with counter service. Food is made to order and comes up quickly - about half way between convention center and Disney entrance. Food was hot and fresh - the medium spicy was not spicy at all. Vegetarian sandwich option was good. Fries were better than expected - very fresh and crisp with creole spice on them

Nashvylle Sandwich and Fries $14.99 (April 2025)

From April 2025 What We Ordered: -Byrd Bomb (Mild) $15.99 -Single Nashvylle Sandwich Hot $11.99 -Nashvylle Sandwich & Fries $14.99 We were looking for some food after drinks at Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar and stopped at Byrd's Hot Chicken on our way back to the hotel. You order at the kiosk and wait for your food. The customer service was somewhat lacking. We weren't acknowledged, and there was no indication when our food would be ready. The restaurant was oddly quiet, even though we could see them preparing our food, and service was slow, despite the restaurant not being busy. I had hoped they would let us know when our food was ready, but communication was poor. The Mild Nashville Sandwich was a pretty good hot chicken sandwich, not better than Howlin' Rays, but just as good as Dave's Hot Chicken. The Byrd Bomb was great too; shredded hot chicken covered in a special sauce over fries - surprisingly good! Don't sleep on Byrd's Hot Chicken!

We've been here a few times, the very first time we tried this place we were surprised at how good it was. It was a biger portion last year if I remember correctly, we always get the street bomb which is good enough for 2 people. But now, portion is smaller but same price. Still good, but wish it was the same bigger portion.

When you enter, the menu is displayed on the screens and you order on a tablet. The service was quick and the food was hot even after the walk back to the hotel. I got a medium spice Nashvylle and fries. The heat, I think, was more than a medium but if you eat with the bun and coleslaw it helped with the heat. I really enjoyed the sandwich. The chicken was crisp and juicy. It is a messy eat so be careful especially when eating on a hotel bed.

As a lover of fried chicken, I can say that this place did not disappoint. I ordered a chicken sandwich and Dale, the owner, kindly substituted the buns for cabbage and homemade coleslaw. You can tell he really cares about his customers by the way he communicates to them about spice level and preference. I asked him to make my chicken extra spicy and he did! The chicken tenders were crisp and hot. The tomatoes, cabbage, and fries helped to cut the spice nicely. Everything paired nicely with the chipotle mayo and ketchup provided. The music made for a nice, casual vibe as well. Thanks for the great experience! :)

Was in the area and decided to stop for a chicken sandwich! I also got their burger fries and they were pretty good. It did take a while to get my food yet the chicken sandwhich didn't really taste fresh. Everything else was pretty good.

Came into bb.q chicken Anaheim with a couple friends after almost visiting house of Shabu shabu II,…read moreafter this caught our eye in the same parking lot. When we came in, the restaurant was pretty empty but very clean and well air conditioned which is a must right now. We were sat quickly and were able to easily order on the iPad. We ordered the cheese balls, rose tteokbokki, and boneless soy garlic chicken (large). They pretty quickly brought a complimentary side salad to the table which was a crunchy and refreshing shredded cabbage with a thousand island like sauce similar to what you'd be served with Korean katsu. Our cheese balls came out next. We were expecting something a bit more savory, but to our surprise, they were quite sweet. It tasted almost like a donut, if you've had the Korean rice donuts filled with red bean or sweet cream cheese, these tasted like the latter, but with some sort of melting cheese like mozzarella also mixed in. While it wasn't what we were necessarily looking for, they were very tasty, but I don't think we'd get it with chicken again. I really like the tteokbokki here. They're heavy on the veggies like cabbage, which I actually enjoy about it. It holds the sauce in a way the rice cakes just don't. Their sauce is also lightly sweet and not too rich or spicy. It makes the dish go down a lot easier than other versions of it. The chicken came out last, and was impressive as expected. You may expect boneless chicken to be dry or flavorless, but bb.q chicken somehow manages to avoid all that while still achieving a satisfying crunch all while covered in sauce. Even their sauced chicken is somehow still crispy, which I think is owed mostly to their breading and frying methods, as well as the conservative amount of sauce they put on it (which we appreciate). I would definitely return to this location for Korean fried chicken. The Irvine one wall has also been reliable in my experience. The only location which has been consistently bad is the Fullerton location, whose ambiance, service, and food have been lackluster on the multiple occasions I've been there, which is surprising for a chain like this. Two thumbs up for Anaheim tho.

We also tried the honey rap and mala one as well, both are very delicious. The mala one is very unique and quite spicy if you love spice. These wings are huge and juicy, packed with so much flavor. Sometimes I will be craving this even though I had it the previous week haha. It's that good. What's a must with these wings is the spicy carbonara tteokbokki. It's like a rose tteokbokki but more bacon forward flavor. Soooo delicious and addicting. Pairs very well with the crisp to perfection wings. Service is good and the vibes are great! Feels very retro and great spot to go with friends. I highly recommend this place if you love quality Korean fried chicken! 12/10 recommend :)

When we got there at 5 pm, almost all the tables were already full. We were able to get the small table where you sit down on some cushions to eat. They have this unique seating area in the back by the bathroom near the kitchen. Check it out. We ordered the honey soy chicken plate with rice. They fry chicken thighs for that one and gave a decent amount of chicken. The sides were ok. Probably not my preference. We also got the 8 piece seaweed fried chicken and the honey soy chicken. The chicken here are big and moist. Very juicy and very good. The seaweed one is very unique and I really like that one. A lot of umami flavor. However, what made it a 4 star place for me was that the server never really checked up on us at all. Didn't come by to ask how things were or anything. Also, the price is quite high for what it is. $20 for 8 pieces of wings isn't cheap. The two items with tax and tip was over $40 and I think we all still left not quite full. Anyways, it was good trying it out, but might not be something I go to often.

Chick-N-Out was one of the most highly rated places in Anaheim California. Chick-N-Out is located on Ball Road near Disneyland. It's open daily from 5:00 P.M to 11:00 P.M. Extended hours are on Fridays and Saturdays. This pop up food truck offers a variety of chicken sandwiches, French Fries, wraps, nachos, tenders and more! Most of their combo meals cost between $18.00-$20.00 each. My husband and I both ordered a chicken sandwich combo. My Chicken sandwich only had pickles on it, but he had everything added to his sandwich! There were a few customers ahead of us, so we ended up waiting about 15 minutes for the order. After we got our meal, we decided to eat it in our car fresh instead of bringing it back to the hotel. The chicken sandwich was so delicious! It was super crunchy. I think it was deep fried with the corn flake crust. It was one of the more unique chicken sandwiches I've ever had. The chicken cutlet was relatively thin, but still scrumptious! I haven't had anything like this before! The French Fries were good. They needed a little bit more salt for me. The Cajun corn was slightly spicy. The cooks in the food truck prepare the orders from scratch. While we were waiting for the order, we saw a lot of the chicken cutlets being prepared and deep fried. I really enjoyed eating at Chick-N-Out. It's one of my new favorite places to eat at near Disneyland!

Exceptional--Possibly the Best Fried Chicken in Orange County…read more I was surprised to see a few negative reviews because our experience with Gus's Fried Chicken in Santa Ana was exceptional. This is some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. It has a true Southern-style flavor: perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and just enough of a spicy kick without overpowering the chicken. The Louisiana hot sauce packets are nothing fancy, but the simple vinegary heat pairs perfectly with the chicken. The fried green tomatoes were excellent, and the barbecue baked beans were seriously good as well. My only regret is that we didn't order the collard greens and mac and cheese--I'll definitely be trying both next time. We ordered delivery, and everything arrived hot, neatly packaged, and in great condition. The customer service was also excellent. Even the leftovers reheated beautifully in the air fryer. For my taste, Gus's beats the Korean fried chicken spots, the other Southern-style chicken restaurants, Crack Shack, Raising Cane's, and the other popular fried chicken places around Orange County. The flavor and seasoning put it in a different category. Absolutely superb. Five out of five, and easily one of the best fried chicken experiences in Orange County.
