We visited on a Tuesday around 6 p.m. with a party of four for a birthday. The restaurant wasn't busy, so there really wasn't an obvious reason for what followed. The meal started with bread that was lukewarm, hard, and forgettable, served with oil and what looked like dried minced garlic. Someone in our party tried to order a beer, and the server said they only had two or three of the dozen or so beers listed. Things only got worse from there. I ordered a French 75 and eventually received...something. It arrived after the appetizers, in the wrong glass, over ice, with no champagne and no detectable gin. It tasted like sparkling lemonade. I politely asked for it to be remade and even offered to speak with the bartender if it would help. The replacement never arrived. The calamari came out on sloppy-looking plates, and one order was pale while the other was dark enough to suggest it had been fried in old oil. Neither was particularly hot, and the breading barely stayed attached. The entrees looked just as uninspired as they tasted. The linguini with clam sauce was gray and soupy. The fish came with vegetables that were cooked to death. My eggplant parmesan was buried in bland marinara, and the gnocchi was room temperature, rubbery, and completely flavorless. The marinara itself tasted like watered-down canned tomatoes that had forgotten salt existed. Service was just as disappointing. Water glasses sat empty for most of the meal, our server was nearly impossible to flag down, no one checked on the remade cocktail, and by the time we finally got someone's attention, it was only because the host happened to notice us trying to get the check. We would have considered dessert, but the server disappeared long enough that we gave up. To top it off, the incorrect cocktail was still on the bill, bringing the total to around $250. One final observation: I watched the host reset tables by placing glasses, linens, menus, salt and pepper shakers, and table tents directly on chair seats. They also carried clean drinking glasses by inserting their fingers inside them. The open kitchen visible from the dining room didn't inspire much confidence, either. I've had better meals at chain restaurants for a fraction of the price. For roughly $250, this wasn't just disappointing--it was astonishingly poor. Nothing about this is authentic italian. Nothing about it is worth the price tag. Nothing about it was redeemable.

C & S pizza has been a staple in Pepperell for many many years and still holds the crown (yes, I'm biased and grew up in Pepperell) as the best all around pizza on the planet. I hadn't been home in many years, but travelled back to the holy land for Thanksgiving this year.....with this pizza on my mind, not turkey. The service and ambiance are irrelevant, it's a pizza shop, you order, get there, pay for it, and leave. I suppose it's okay to say that they excel at something not so difficult. Now that that's taken care of, the pizza is exceptional, even more than that, my order is always correct, complete, and heavenly. I'm happy C & S has survived the metamorphosis Pepperell has gone through....C & S and Scumbi's are the only thing I recognize and remember growing up here in the 90's. read more

My Husband was a delivery driver for this store his name was Harold . On the night of December 4 the 2021 Harold found out that the managers had been stealing tips from online orders from him . Along with charging him pocket money $25 a night to make change for customers. Something he took to work himself and informed them . When Harold spoke to the assistant manager she called him a lier . Harold came home that night and died of a heart attack . I have yet to receive his last paycheck . The money owed him or his W2s. Support smaller business in town . Ordered from C& S today - Big mistake - haven't ordered from them for over five years because the pizza was so bad. Well after years they are still bad. Ordered two toasted Italian subs with everything extra hots on one. This is laughable, I received one toasted. Both had only tomatoes, lettuce and pickles with some kind of meat assortment. I grew up on this pizza (mushroom pizza every Friday night)! Greek style pizza (the hamburg pizza is the shiat! shredded like cheese its sooo good). Yes you have to like Greek pizza but this is definitely my favorite. The grease soaks through the box so you have to set it on the car floor: a definite sign of wholesomeness!
