The oxtail was very mild and while the jerk chicken had good flavor, it wasn't spicy. We did get the last order of jerk chicken so maybe that affected the quality but it was mostly bone and we didn't get much meat. We also felt it was a little overpriced for what we received. Since we're not familiar with Jamaican food, we can't really say whether it was good or bad overall. It just wasn't quite what we expected.

I have been craving a beef patty and I had heard that they have the best mac n cheese in Winston Salem. I have been hesitant to order because a side of mac n cheese is very pricey. To my shock it was actually enough for 2 servings and worth the price tag. I have to admit it is definitely the best mac n cheese I have ever purchased, even over the well known soul food spots. The mac and cheese was very creamy and yet still had your favorite crispy edges. It was not overpowered with sour cream like so many places locally. The beef patty was nice and spicy and the crust was very flaky. It could stand to have a bit more filling though. I look forward to getting the jerk chicken again and eventually trying their oxtails. The jerk was really good with a fair amount of meat, and a heaping amount of black beans and rice! The chicken is extremely well seasoned, and true to their roots, very spicy! The fried pork chunks was my absolute favorite dish as the chunks were not overly fatty, tender inside, and quite flavorful! The accompanying plantains were large in portion size and right on the mark! The one downside to ordering from them is the extensive menu that they offer which ultimately slows them way down! I waited nearly 20 minutes for my food, and while they may say that you're getting a fresher experience, I say that's way too long for a food truck experience! After ordering, I was given a buzzer to be notified when it was ready. The staff person were very friendly. The buzzer went off at 5:23pm. The food was hot and fresh. However, the fries and chicken was unseasoned. Ketchup made the fries taste better. I had to eat the chicken how it was, lol. Overall, it was a good deal. My kids enjoyed their empanadas. The kola drink was interesting. It wasn't nasty but I can't say it'll be something I'd crave or be my first option. They are normally open Thursday-Saturday from 12pm-7pm at Compare Foods.
