Made Yelp reservations. Changed and updated our Yelp reservations last second with NO issues at all, thank you! Quality/Quantity - One of the VERY first steakhouses I have been to in Reno. My buddy chose this as it was close to his house. And back then, we used to stay in downtown Reno. Finally made it to your prix fixed $39 dinner for prime rib (other options were also available)!! And it did NOT disappoint! Both our meals were so good. The red snail (sorry forgot the name) complimentary bread was amazing! Had to ask for seconds! Cactus Creek House Salad - So fresh and of generous quantity. My wife and I shared mine and took hers to-go. Remember, we are light eaters. Both our prime ribs were cooked to our liking. Medium well for my wife and medium rare for me, opposites attract. My wife was only able to eat half of hers. I am sure both our prime ribs were larger than 8 oz, thank you. And lastly, a generous cheesecake with fresh strawberries. And again, my wife and I shared mine, so she took hers to-go and we will have seconds tomorrow. To wash it all down, we got both the chardonnay and cabernet. See pictures. I will be back in the future for your Happy Hour. Choices, choices, choices... Atmosphere - Cactus Creek is in a small local casino. Very smoke filled, a warning to the non-smokers. But inside the restaurant, it was not bad. Cool decor, see pictures. Table, booth, bar seating (very small bar). Open from Thursdays to Sundays from 3:30pm to close. Not busy at all on a Thursday. Plenty of free parking. Service - 5 stars; both Alexis, our waitress, and her assistant were perfect. Professional and nearby if we needed her but not intrusive. Price - $85 + generous tip. Reasonably priced. Especially happy hour and now your prix fixed dinners. I look forward to your happy hour; its been too long. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1996. We have been customers since the 2000s.

My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversay and chose to splurge at the Cactus Creek Steakhouse. My wife had the pan roast, and I had the lamb chop special, which is not what I meant to get, as I really had my sights set on a ribeye steak. I'm happy with my choice, as the meal was delicious! Our server Alexa was very delightful and attentive, without being overbearing. We were presented with a complimentary desert for our anniversary, which was not only appreciated but very good! The whole staff was very engaging and the whole experience was top notch. Hopefully we can go back without having to wait for a special occasion.

Great food, steak ordered and cooked exactly the way you ask. Great dim lighting and ambience for dinner for two. Excellent service as well. I didn't think bonanza would have a good steak but I was wrong! Check this place out, you won't be disappointed.

I'm fortunate to be treated to this delicious steak house on my birthday, for the past 4 years. The restaurant is quiet and gives a peaceful ambiance, that I'm certain all can appreciate. We have had the same waitress each time and she, along with the rest of the staff, seem to always go the extra mile. I splurged and got the Surf and Turf and BOY WAS IS GOOD! If you like a little spice in your life, I recommend sharing the crab cake to start!

Went in for dinner, we did have a reservation. We were greeted promptly and shown to our table quickly. Within just a few minutes our waitress Debra stopped by to introduce herself, take our drink order and let us know what the specials were. Debra was very sweet and attentive throughout the evening which was very much appreciated. We opted for the calamari special for an appetizer which was lightly breaded and perfectly cooked, the grilled lemon was a nice surprise. We split a bowl of lobster bisque, which had chunks of lobster and was tasty. For dinner my husband had the macadamia nut halibut which he said was excellent and fresh. I had the scallops which were really delicious, the only criticism I would have, would be the orzo medley that was served with my dinner. The mixture of flavors competed with the scallops, instead of complementing it. Next time I would opt for a side of asparagus or white rice. We didn't leave room for dessert tonight, but there is always next time! It was lovely night out, the food and service was delightful.

Had the best dinner last night at the steakhouse. First we started with a cocktail at the bar. David was our bartender. I had a Negroni. The first one was good but he told me he had a special recipe one so I had that for my second cocktail. It was even better than the first!! I highly recommend asked David for his special Negroni. DH had a Moscow mule which he enjoyed! Several people at the bar were eating a yummy looking Turkey dinner. I was tempted to get it but I had my heart set on a steak. For dinner I ordered the blackened Prime rib. It comes with 2 prawns and a yummy sauce. It also has an onion jam with slivers of Granny Smith apples and I think pea sprouts!! It was so good! Tho it was a bit salty for my tastes. I do expect that with anything that's blackened. I also got the French onion soup which was perfect!! Not over salty!! Done just right!! DH had the filet with asparagus. Also so delicious!! He ordered a pumpkin cheese cake. It wasn't on the menu but came with the Turkey dinner. I ordered a glass of the Segheso Zin. A really fantastic wine! It went especially well with the blackened prime rib. I had brought gift cards at Costco. So the meal wasn't that expensive for what we got!! Service was wonderful!! I have to say I think Cactus Creek is just as good as Western Village which is my benchmark for great steaks in the Reno area.

Food was fun and entertaining to eat! Service was clear, sweet, and attentive. Ambiance was western, calm, and sexy too. We had a great date night- we were such gracious guests that they bought us dessert!! We loved the homemade butter variety and great booth.

Our server was amazing. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I had the lobster with a side of asparagus and it was fabulous. My husband and brother in law got soup and salad. Our server brought us tasters of the tomato basil soup which was amazing. The boys got steak and we celebrated my in laws 27th anniversary and they brought them a sorbet with fresh strawberries and whip cream. We all split a cannoli. We brought our own wine and paid a cork fee. Everything was amazing!

Our first time eating here and we were very impressed with everything. The food was amazing and the service from Debra was above and beyond! I Wish we had known about this place sooner! We found our new favorite place and will always ask for Debra, she was genuinely kind, patient, and definitely made us want to keep coming back! The ambiance is everything, very beautiful place.

First time eating here, hubby wanted to try it for his birthday. Despite having a reservation it took a few minutes to seat us, once sat we were brought waters and some bread rolls that came with a sundried tomato, pesto and whipped butters. The bread was okay but I've had better. We had our drink order taken and it seemed to take about 20 min to get drinks back to us. Our server then took the order for our appetizer which we ordered the jalapeno polenta pork belly, ( I was too excited and put my portion in a plate before taking pictures).I highly recommend the pork belly app. After about 30 min our server came back and took out entree order. We got a ribeye and filet with a side of mushrooms and garlic Parmesan steak fries. The steaks were juicy but I ordered the blasphemous mid well ( texture issues with me) it did come out more on the medium side which was okay as it wasn't too under done for my liking. The hubby enjoyed his filet which was mid rare and that too came out a bit underdone. The garlic parm fries were delicious. The ambiance has a native western decor style so it doesn't appear upscale but the taste of the food says otherwise. It would have been nice if the service was a bit better as they weren't that busy ( I may just be used to other places rushing to get custom and out) they def did not rush us here. All in all of most likely come back so I can try some other items on the menu. They also provided a free bday dessert for the hubby which was a marscopne cake that was light and fluffy but very dense and heavy at the same time. The compote they topped it with was delicious, a bit more marscopne or whipped cream would have made it even better.

Until this 4th of July weekend (250/2026) we had never heard of Archie's. It was recommended to us and we stopped in on Sunday the 5th for lunch on our way out of town. What an amazing choice. I ordered their bacon cheese burger. Guess what? It was GIANT. It was delicious. It was perfect. Comes with fries but I got onion rings. The onion rings were perfect too. Largest order of rings I have ever seen. The burger (1/2 Lb I think!!) had nice thick bacon in every bite, two large and fresh slices of tomato, a big old slab of an onion slice, mayo and lettuce. I can't remember if there were pickles. It was the best burger and onion rings I have eaten in at least ten years, maybe 20. We will be back, EVERY time we are in town from now on. I can't recommend this place enough. Special shout out to David, our server. This guy made no mistakes. Laughed at all my stupid dad jokes, was attentive, patient while my companions changed their minds 36 times, and was friendly too. He is a pro already, give him reasons to keep working for you boss. Don't worry, we won't steal him from you, we are retired and closed our joint 10 years ago. Rock on Archie's! Was surprised it had a second floor with a small deck and pretty decent views! Big place. Great Happy Hour Deals (half off drinks) and other specials. I haven't eaten breakfast there but the burger I'd put in the top 4 in Reno. It is giant diameter wise but the meat is the same amount of a smaller thicker burger which makes it no too hard to eat. I'd call this a Purist's Burger. Crisp lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard, sauce. They went really light on the sauce to the point I didn't think it had any. Fries were excellent too. Price is very reasonable (that's typical near a college.) I've tried Royce, Juicy's, and The Parlor. I'd put Archies below Royce and Parlor but above Juicy's. Two left on my list are Armando & Son's Butcher Shop and of course Beefy's.

It's very sad to see if that's the case because it seems like any place that opens in the village at Somersett doesn't do very well. Who knows what the reason is. All I know is that I spent $60 on food that I ended up mostly throwing away because it was unpalatable. That's not good in this day and age.
