I've had to work late, so I decided to come here for dinner. Been quite a while since I've been here but, when the kids are in town, they always wanna come here to celebrate. I made a last-minute reservation online. The nice thing about OpenTable through Yelp, there's a 15 minute window. For some reason the reservation system double booked me, but the hostess called me and verified that there was only one reservation. When I arrived, Kylie was the hostess, and she seated me hey Leo, where's Leo at? Thanks. I just wanna see if I can actually just let him have the rest of this on here. I don't know if I can tip off the gift card thing OK $17 to give to him OK it's OK. It's it's good if he's not around how about this tell him I don't have any cash on me and I'm gonna bring my kids immediately and got my Mai Tai going on. Now it is a traditional mai tai and I have to say it's perfect. David was the bartender, I had to ask his name. Because I wanted to make sure that I came in on the day he was working because of Mai Tai was so delicious . There was also some bread and butter brought to the table. After all the years of me complaining about the bread...Finally they got new bread... they make the bread themselves and it's delicious. It is served with three types of butter. The orange butter is definitely a roasted red pepper. The other ones I'm not sure other than herb butter. Really amazing the change. What I ordered: Mai Tai x 2 Special of the day. T-bone steak 60 ounce served with vegetables, fingerling potatoes, and a really nice mushroom sauce on top. The food arrived fairly quickly. The steak was cooked perfect and very delicious. I really like the mushroom sauce they put on top. Tender carrots, and broccolini. It really was a perfect number and Leo was my waiter and he is spot on. I always enjoy having him take care of me. Professional yet friendly. One aspect.. no. while looking at the wine list ...the Wine list change...no years listed... very important to know if you're spending high dollars on on a silver oak Cabernet, what year is because some of the years are not worth the listed price. So So just be aware and make sure you ask the waiter what the years of the wines are. Other than that, it was a perfect dinner. Great service. Great T-bone steak cooked perfect and delicious. So happy about the new bread. If you look at some of my old videos, you can see me bouncing the bread off of the table as it was horrible. I can't say that anymore.

1/29/26 FYI. In the same parking lot.

Made Yelp reservations. Changed and updated our Yelp reservations last second with NO issues at all, thank you! Quality/Quantity - One of the VERY first steakhouses I have been to in Reno. My buddy chose this as it was close to his house. And back then, we used to stay in downtown Reno. Finally made it to your prix fixed $39 dinner for prime rib (other options were also available)!! And it did NOT disappoint! Both our meals were so good. The red snail (sorry forgot the name) complimentary bread was amazing! Had to ask for seconds! Cactus Creek House Salad - So fresh and of generous quantity. My wife and I shared mine and took hers to-go. Remember, we are light eaters. Both our prime ribs were cooked to our liking. Medium well for my wife and medium rare for me, opposites attract. My wife was only able to eat half of hers. I am sure both our prime ribs were larger than 8 oz, thank you. And lastly, a generous cheesecake with fresh strawberries. And again, my wife and I shared mine, so she took hers to-go and we will have seconds tomorrow. To wash it all down, we got both the chardonnay and cabernet. See pictures. I will be back in the future for your Happy Hour. Choices, choices, choices... Atmosphere - Cactus Creek is in a small local casino. Very smoke filled, a warning to the non-smokers. But inside the restaurant, it was not bad. Cool decor, see pictures. Table, booth, bar seating (very small bar). Open from Thursdays to Sundays from 3:30pm to close. Not busy at all on a Thursday. Plenty of free parking. Service - 5 stars; both Alexis, our waitress, and her assistant were perfect. Professional and nearby if we needed her but not intrusive. Price - $85 + generous tip. Reasonably priced. Especially happy hour and now your prix fixed dinners. I look forward to your happy hour; its been too long. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1996. We have been customers since the 2000s.

Great food, steak ordered and cooked exactly the way you ask. Great dim lighting and ambience for dinner for two. Excellent service as well. I didn't think bonanza would have a good steak but I was wrong! Check this place out, you won't be disappointed.

I'm fortunate to be treated to this delicious steak house on my birthday, for the past 4 years. The restaurant is quiet and gives a peaceful ambiance, that I'm certain all can appreciate. We have had the same waitress each time and she, along with the rest of the staff, seem to always go the extra mile. I splurged and got the Surf and Turf and BOY WAS IS GOOD! If you like a little spice in your life, I recommend sharing the crab cake to start!

Had the best dinner last night at the steakhouse. First we started with a cocktail at the bar. David was our bartender. I had a Negroni. The first one was good but he told me he had a special recipe one so I had that for my second cocktail. It was even better than the first!! I highly recommend asked David for his special Negroni. DH had a Moscow mule which he enjoyed! Several people at the bar were eating a yummy looking Turkey dinner. I was tempted to get it but I had my heart set on a steak. For dinner I ordered the blackened Prime rib. It comes with 2 prawns and a yummy sauce. It also has an onion jam with slivers of Granny Smith apples and I think pea sprouts!! It was so good! Tho it was a bit salty for my tastes. I do expect that with anything that's blackened. I also got the French onion soup which was perfect!! Not over salty!! Done just right!! DH had the filet with asparagus. Also so delicious!! He ordered a pumpkin cheese cake. It wasn't on the menu but came with the Turkey dinner. I ordered a glass of the Segheso Zin. A really fantastic wine! It went especially well with the blackened prime rib. I had brought gift cards at Costco. So the meal wasn't that expensive for what we got!! Service was wonderful!! I have to say I think Cactus Creek is just as good as Western Village which is my benchmark for great steaks in the Reno area.

Our first time eating here and we were very impressed with everything. The food was amazing and the service from Debra was above and beyond! I Wish we had known about this place sooner! We found our new favorite place and will always ask for Debra, she was genuinely kind, patient, and definitely made us want to keep coming back! The ambiance is everything, very beautiful place.

Food was fun and entertaining to eat! Service was clear, sweet, and attentive. Ambiance was western, calm, and sexy too. We had a great date night- we were such gracious guests that they bought us dessert!! We loved the homemade butter variety and great booth.

Our server was amazing. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I had the lobster with a side of asparagus and it was fabulous. My husband and brother in law got soup and salad. Our server brought us tasters of the tomato basil soup which was amazing. The boys got steak and we celebrated my in laws 27th anniversary and they brought them a sorbet with fresh strawberries and whip cream. We all split a cannoli. We brought our own wine and paid a cork fee. Everything was amazing!

First time eating here, hubby wanted to try it for his birthday. Despite having a reservation it took a few minutes to seat us, once sat we were brought waters and some bread rolls that came with a sundried tomato, pesto and whipped butters. The bread was okay but I've had better. We had our drink order taken and it seemed to take about 20 min to get drinks back to us. Our server then took the order for our appetizer which we ordered the jalapeno polenta pork belly, ( I was too excited and put my portion in a plate before taking pictures).I highly recommend the pork belly app. After about 30 min our server came back and took out entree order. We got a ribeye and filet with a side of mushrooms and garlic Parmesan steak fries. The steaks were juicy but I ordered the blasphemous mid well ( texture issues with me) it did come out more on the medium side which was okay as it wasn't too under done for my liking. The hubby enjoyed his filet which was mid rare and that too came out a bit underdone. The garlic parm fries were delicious. The ambiance has a native western decor style so it doesn't appear upscale but the taste of the food says otherwise. It would have been nice if the service was a bit better as they weren't that busy ( I may just be used to other places rushing to get custom and out) they def did not rush us here. All in all of most likely come back so I can try some other items on the menu. They also provided a free bday dessert for the hubby which was a marscopne cake that was light and fluffy but very dense and heavy at the same time. The compote they topped it with was delicious, a bit more marscopne or whipped cream would have made it even better.

That was fine so as soon as we turned around to sit in the lobby, the guy called us and said he happened to find a table for two. So we were sat immediately. This is the busiest I've ever seen this restaurant. Pretty much every table, and they have lots of tables, was full. Braden was our server and he was at our table within five minutes. Considering how busy the place was, that was awesome. He took our drink orders asked if we actually knew what we wanted to eat, which we didn't, and so he went to get our drinks while we looked at the menu. What we ordered: 25 ounce Cadillac margarita Frolic in the sand Shots of tequila (Herradura) 20 ounce prime rib, medium rare Lobster tail Jacketed baked potato Sautéed mushrooms The food arrived quickly. The prime rib was perfect. Lobster, mushrooms. Everything was just so darn good. The star of the show was the server Braden. He was friendly and a little entertaining. Even though the place was super busy, he took the time to talk with us and make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our evening. I will definitely ask for him next time we come in here as he was that good. When the food and drinks are consistent, sometimes the only difference of a good visit versus an average visit is the server. He was perfect. I walked up and got the manager, who came back to the table to hear us out. They ended up comping all of the food and by the time we had gotten this far, it was already later in the evening and we just decided to salvage what we could. Some of the food was edible, so we did what we could. We kept waiting for someone to come around to clear dishes comma but we never saw anyone. There was an empty table between us and the next table over. There was an empty table between us and the next table over, and they had started stacking they're empty dishes on that empty table. We decided, we might as well do the same thing otherwise the dishes would stay put. By the end of the meal, the entire table was full of dishes. We ended up going somewhere else later that evening to actually get some food we could eat. I'm really sad that this meal went so poorly when we were trying to celebrate a birthday. We will never be going to this restaurant again. Additional after the fact, the sign outside that advertises the business has been broken for months. One would think that if you were a serious business that you would want to fix that. It reflects on your image. It makes me sad too, because they are right across the street from the Peppermill and they could be getting so much business.

The steak came out smelling like garlic. It looked so much better than the picture I posted. It was so tender it cut with a butter knife. The color of the steak inside was perfect medium rare. The flavor on the taste buds is what dreams are made of. Some meals we remember for a lifetime. Because every bite is just that scrumptious. I can still almost taste it by just thinking about it. For dessert, we got the classic Bananas Foster, which is made tableside. It is dinner and a show. Bananas Foster is such a decadent treat. The show begins with the melting of the butter, and the aroma will still your breath away. Then add in the brown and white sugars. Several alcohols are used. I believe they use Banana liquor as well as rum. Then a fire is lit in the pan. It sparks when the cinnamon is added. Then the bananas are cooked ever so lightly. Sometimes, too much liqueur is added, and the flavor is off. However, on this night, it was spot on. The sugars and liqueur create a caramel sauce for the bananas, and vanilla ice cream is added. The ice cream that was used tasted like a French Vanilla ice cream with little flecks of vanilla. Each bite was a walk on a cloud. My friends had never had Bananas Foster before. I think they will be back if only for the Bananas Foster. The bananas and caramel with a kiss a vanilla ice cream just send your taste buds to heaven. Each bite will have you desiring more, even if you are beyond full. Each bite is so divine. It tastes so decadent that your mind will be blown that it is bananas and vanilla ice cream. I can't remember the name of our waiter. He was such a delight and made sure we had a great time. This was a meal I will remember for a long time. Thank you to the staff at Duke's Steakhouse. If you are looking for a luxurious and decadent dinner, this is the restaurant.

I'm only giving 4 stars this trip, I've never had an issue with happy hour seating. There were…read moreplenty of spaces at the bar but the two hostess at the podium said it would be at least a 20 minute wait. We went back at 4:40pm as instructed and still plenty of room in the bar, but yet they still would not see us. It wasn't until I asked if we could just sit down and we would wait for the service even if they were behind at that point, they allowed us to sit at the bar and we were waited on right away with no issue. Adrian knows us and we are very good customers there. I think some things changed in management, Kevin the waiter who has been there since it opened is no longer there and you could feel a different vibe going on in the restaurant. The happy hour menu has changed and my husband's favorite Chardonnay is no longer included, but Adrian bought him a lovely Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc which was very tasty for $8. Adrian is a wonderful bartender and we enjoy his service! Sad to hear Jenna moved on too! Why is it all the good people leave, but then you have Quincy at the chandelier bar yelling at customers, not serving customers, telling you he won't serve her until it's convenient for him. Thank goodness Larry was working at the sports bar after happy hour! He is a great guy and works so hard for the casino and his customers!

This place is so UNDERRATED! Such a peaceful atmosphere, consistent food, and chill staff; I can't…read morebelieve that Washoe Public House isn't getting the hype it deserves! The eating area is very spacious and commodious. Though this place has a casual vibe, the presentation of the food is totally fine-dining material. Each dish, especially the Citrus glazed salmon, is served as a piece of art. I've been here around three times before I installed yelp, and am excited to finally leave a review. The short rib, was absolutely amazing. The short rib was so tender, and each brussels sprout was a literal flavor bomb. The brussels sprouts I've had at other places have flavor only on the exterior, whereas the brussels sprouts here play a different game. The short rib is served in a really big portion. Though it may look dark from the photos, there are actually three big pieces. I loved loved loved the sauce; there's a sweet tangy taste to it, though it reminded me a lot of BBQ sauce. This short rib was a win. Chefs kiss. The truffle lasagna was terrific; so much sauce in between the lasagna layers. I could absolutely make out the truffle flavor in this dish. However, I recommend eating this dish quickly, as the lasagna stiffens really quickly. Thirty minutes after it was served, I went it to take another bite, and it wasn't as good anymore. The ceasar salad +beef is a great choice for a light but filling meal when you're currently on a healthy diet. Each dish here comes in giant portions, but even after you finish this salad, it won't feel too heavy on your body. I think it's because Washoe is really light on the dressing levels; perfecting the amount so it doesn't overtake the fresh flavor of the greens or leave the salad bland and insipid. However, the beef was a bit too well done and on the firmer side. The first time coming here, I was totally shocked to find out that the food they served did not match the relaxed and informal vibe the setting sets up. Not a bad thing at all. Creates a laid-back vibe while still getting high quality food.

Well...where do I begin. We first came to Washoe public house about 8 years ago when they had the…read moreprevious owner and all was well. My husband mentioned that we should go back since it's been years and I agreed. Big mistake. We walked in and was greeted by a pretty annoyed host and we decided to sit inside. So far so good. Same guy comes over and asks what we want and he still didn't seem like he even wanted to be there. He just kept being short with us and at this point I'm getting annoyed myself. I asked if the lobster roll was good and he said everything here is good and that he's been doing this for a long time yadda yadda and so I ask " are you the owner?" His reply "Nope!" And I'm like okay whatever. We get our food and the scotch egg was sooo salty. We couldn't even finish. The best dish was the bulgogi lettuce cups. My husband's short rib poutine was overly sweet and soupy. My lobster roll was so acidic and just not good. Let's just say I was not happy. So I had my husband look up who owns this place since we heard that there's new ownership and guess who the owner is!?.......... Our waiter/annoyed host! Also he made a comment how he's waiting on his 1 star review which is a bizzare thing to say to a customer but okay. So now I'm even more mad at this guy. We still played nice, thanked the staff and left. But we were stopped outside by another customer that was seated 2 tables behind us and they said they are going elsewhere to get more food and how they think that there's drama in the kitchen and how our waiter/owner seemed angry and slammed the menu down at the bar. I didn't want to give a 1 star but the best I can do is 2. Needs lots of improvement with food and he needs to be a lot happier or at least act like it around customers.

All staff working Thursday evening were very attentive and brought back more Medium well/well cooked meats for my daughter which I appreciated. She's picky as it is. All kids ate very well and glad they ate more protein than carbs. I was glad hubby wanted to have his birthday dinner here. I was in picanha and perfectly cooked sirloin heaven. I stayed away from the bar and only ate the grilled meats. Christine brought us garlic mashed potatoes, polenta and the plantains. Our kids didn't even want to touch the bread, but they managed to save room for dessert. No shock there, but I told them they're missing out. I was bummed the kids shared with me on the way home that they found a long dark hair in their garlic mashed potato plate and that's why they didn't eat it. This had been the only mishap here. Overall, it was still a nice birthday dinner celebration. Thanks to everyone serving us meats and to Christine; You were all great.
