Made Yelp reservations. Changed and updated our Yelp reservations last second with NO issues at all, thank you! Quality/Quantity - One of the VERY first steakhouses I have been to in Reno. My buddy chose this as it was close to his house. And back then, we used to stay in downtown Reno. Finally made it to your prix fixed $39 dinner for prime rib (other options were also available)!! And it did NOT disappoint! Both our meals were so good. The red snail (sorry forgot the name) complimentary bread was amazing! Had to ask for seconds! Cactus Creek House Salad - So fresh and of generous quantity. My wife and I shared mine and took hers to-go. Remember, we are light eaters. Both our prime ribs were cooked to our liking. Medium well for my wife and medium rare for me, opposites attract. My wife was only able to eat half of hers. I am sure both our prime ribs were larger than 8 oz, thank you. And lastly, a generous cheesecake with fresh strawberries. And again, my wife and I shared mine, so she took hers to-go and we will have seconds tomorrow. To wash it all down, we got both the chardonnay and cabernet. See pictures. I will be back in the future for your Happy Hour. Choices, choices, choices... Atmosphere - Cactus Creek is in a small local casino. Very smoke filled, a warning to the non-smokers. But inside the restaurant, it was not bad. Cool decor, see pictures. Table, booth, bar seating (very small bar). Open from Thursdays to Sundays from 3:30pm to close. Not busy at all on a Thursday. Plenty of free parking. Service - 5 stars; both Alexis, our waitress, and her assistant were perfect. Professional and nearby if we needed her but not intrusive. Price - $85 + generous tip. Reasonably priced. Especially happy hour and now your prix fixed dinners. I look forward to your happy hour; its been too long. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1996. We have been customers since the 2000s.

My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversay and chose to splurge at the Cactus Creek Steakhouse. My wife had the pan roast, and I had the lamb chop special, which is not what I meant to get, as I really had my sights set on a ribeye steak. I'm happy with my choice, as the meal was delicious! Our server Alexa was very delightful and attentive, without being overbearing. We were presented with a complimentary desert for our anniversary, which was not only appreciated but very good! The whole staff was very engaging and the whole experience was top notch. Hopefully we can go back without having to wait for a special occasion.

Great food, steak ordered and cooked exactly the way you ask. Great dim lighting and ambience for dinner for two. Excellent service as well. I didn't think bonanza would have a good steak but I was wrong! Check this place out, you won't be disappointed.

I'm fortunate to be treated to this delicious steak house on my birthday, for the past 4 years. The restaurant is quiet and gives a peaceful ambiance, that I'm certain all can appreciate. We have had the same waitress each time and she, along with the rest of the staff, seem to always go the extra mile. I splurged and got the Surf and Turf and BOY WAS IS GOOD! If you like a little spice in your life, I recommend sharing the crab cake to start!

Went in for dinner, we did have a reservation. We were greeted promptly and shown to our table quickly. Within just a few minutes our waitress Debra stopped by to introduce herself, take our drink order and let us know what the specials were. Debra was very sweet and attentive throughout the evening which was very much appreciated. We opted for the calamari special for an appetizer which was lightly breaded and perfectly cooked, the grilled lemon was a nice surprise. We split a bowl of lobster bisque, which had chunks of lobster and was tasty. For dinner my husband had the macadamia nut halibut which he said was excellent and fresh. I had the scallops which were really delicious, the only criticism I would have, would be the orzo medley that was served with my dinner. The mixture of flavors competed with the scallops, instead of complementing it. Next time I would opt for a side of asparagus or white rice. We didn't leave room for dessert tonight, but there is always next time! It was lovely night out, the food and service was delightful.

Had the best dinner last night at the steakhouse. First we started with a cocktail at the bar. David was our bartender. I had a Negroni. The first one was good but he told me he had a special recipe one so I had that for my second cocktail. It was even better than the first!! I highly recommend asked David for his special Negroni. DH had a Moscow mule which he enjoyed! Several people at the bar were eating a yummy looking Turkey dinner. I was tempted to get it but I had my heart set on a steak. For dinner I ordered the blackened Prime rib. It comes with 2 prawns and a yummy sauce. It also has an onion jam with slivers of Granny Smith apples and I think pea sprouts!! It was so good! Tho it was a bit salty for my tastes. I do expect that with anything that's blackened. I also got the French onion soup which was perfect!! Not over salty!! Done just right!! DH had the filet with asparagus. Also so delicious!! He ordered a pumpkin cheese cake. It wasn't on the menu but came with the Turkey dinner. I ordered a glass of the Segheso Zin. A really fantastic wine! It went especially well with the blackened prime rib. I had brought gift cards at Costco. So the meal wasn't that expensive for what we got!! Service was wonderful!! I have to say I think Cactus Creek is just as good as Western Village which is my benchmark for great steaks in the Reno area.

Food was fun and entertaining to eat! Service was clear, sweet, and attentive. Ambiance was western, calm, and sexy too. We had a great date night- we were such gracious guests that they bought us dessert!! We loved the homemade butter variety and great booth.

Our server was amazing. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I had the lobster with a side of asparagus and it was fabulous. My husband and brother in law got soup and salad. Our server brought us tasters of the tomato basil soup which was amazing. The boys got steak and we celebrated my in laws 27th anniversary and they brought them a sorbet with fresh strawberries and whip cream. We all split a cannoli. We brought our own wine and paid a cork fee. Everything was amazing!

5 stars to Marc, thank you Narc for the fabulous SPECIAL DINNER you prepared for my husband and I on my 65th birthday, I was amazed by the Sea Bass prepared in parchment with mushroom cream sauce , an amazing lobster bisque , wedge salad is always perfect addition to dinner, and the roast root vegetables with balsamic glaze very good , and dessert was flan also delicious, as always Alexa is a pretty amazing server as Jose and David a wonderful bartender, thanks for an amazing 65th birthday

Our first time eating here and we were very impressed with everything. The food was amazing and the service from Debra was above and beyond! I Wish we had known about this place sooner! We found our new favorite place and will always ask for Debra, she was genuinely kind, patient, and definitely made us want to keep coming back! The ambiance is everything, very beautiful place.

First time eating here, hubby wanted to try it for his birthday. Despite having a reservation it took a few minutes to seat us, once sat we were brought waters and some bread rolls that came with a sundried tomato, pesto and whipped butters. The bread was okay but I've had better. We had our drink order taken and it seemed to take about 20 min to get drinks back to us. Our server then took the order for our appetizer which we ordered the jalapeno polenta pork belly, ( I was too excited and put my portion in a plate before taking pictures).I highly recommend the pork belly app. After about 30 min our server came back and took out entree order. We got a ribeye and filet with a side of mushrooms and garlic Parmesan steak fries. The steaks were juicy but I ordered the blasphemous mid well ( texture issues with me) it did come out more on the medium side which was okay as it wasn't too under done for my liking. The hubby enjoyed his filet which was mid rare and that too came out a bit underdone. The garlic parm fries were delicious. The ambiance has a native western decor style so it doesn't appear upscale but the taste of the food says otherwise. It would have been nice if the service was a bit better as they weren't that busy ( I may just be used to other places rushing to get custom and out) they def did not rush us here. All in all of most likely come back so I can try some other items on the menu. They also provided a free bday dessert for the hubby which was a marscopne cake that was light and fluffy but very dense and heavy at the same time. The compote they topped it with was delicious, a bit more marscopne or whipped cream would have made it even better.

(Condescending smirk.) "We do things a little bit differently around here." The thing they do differently is that you have to order everything from a QR code. It's such a bummer because we hardly ever get to eat dinner together, and we want to spend it interacting, not using a phone for yet ANOTHER task. We order: rosemary popovers, steak, wedge salad, potatoes a gratin, and asparagus. Popovers: no rosemary, just dried parsley sprinkled on top. Burned on the bottom, very tough (likely over mixed) Wedge salad: pretty solid, very salty Steak: too salty as well, but cooked nicely to order Potatoes: this...is not a gratin. And it was covered the same sauce as the asparagus, which was maybe a flavorless béchamel? Asparagus: covered in bacon w the above sauce and very tough and stringy. All around: poor service, poor ambience, overpriced food poorly prepared. We were bummed out.

I walked up and got the manager, who came back to the table to hear us out. We will never be going to this restaurant again. Additional after the fact, the sign outside that advertises the business has been broken for months. One would think that if you were a serious business that you would want to fix that. It reflects on your image. Absolutely lovely bread service here. First round of dirty Tito's with bleu cheese stuffed olives & a refreshing pineapple Patrón margarita to start, the perfect accompaniments to starters foie gras & waygu Rossini and escargot. To be 100% honest, these aren't my favorite snails. White wine takes up room that unctuous butter and garlic should, making them seem watery, thin and a little tough. Hubby had that evening's special sea bass with polenta and I had the double cut lamb chops, both entrées were PERFECTION. We ordered the mushroom medley and sauteed spinach for sides. The mushrooms were luxurious, but the spinach was brothy, again not buttery or creamy at all. Not bad in any way, just not the steakhouse staple creamy spinach I was expecting. The eating area is very spacious and commodious. Though this place has a casual vibe, the presentation of the food is totally fine-dining material. Each dish, especially the Citrus glazed salmon, is served as a piece of art. I've been here around three times before I installed yelp, and am excited to finally leave a review. The short rib, was absolutely amazing. The short rib was so tender, and each brussels sprout was a literal flavor bomb. The brussels sprouts I've had at other places have flavor only on the exterior, whereas the brussels sprouts here play a different game. The short rib is served in a really big portion. Though it may look dark from the photos, there are actually three big pieces. I loved loved loved the sauce; there's a sweet tangy taste to it, though it reminded me a lot of BBQ sauce. This short rib was a win. Chefs kiss. The truffle lasagna was terrific; so much sauce in between the lasagna layers. I could absolutely make out the truffle flavor in this dish. However, I recommend eating this dish quickly, as the lasagna stiffens really quickly. Thirty minutes after it was served, I went it to take another bite, and it wasn't as good anymore. The ceasar salad +beef is a great choice for a light but filling meal when you're currently on a healthy diet. Each dish here comes in giant portions, but even after you finish this salad, it won't feel too heavy on your body. I think it's because Washoe is really light on the dressing levels; perfecting the amount so it doesn't overtake the fresh flavor of the greens or leave the salad bland and insipid. However, the beef was a bit too well done and on the firmer side. The first time coming here, I was totally shocked to find out that the food they served did not match the relaxed and informal vibe the setting sets up. Not a bad thing at all. Situated in Mid-Town, it is conveniently located near the River and an easy walk to to the Pioneer Center. Have no fear, there is quite normal food fare in addition to the more exotic. We went with a large group, so we were able to sample the exotic and the more traditional. Starting with the Double Elk Chops, featured on Dives, Diners and Drive-Ins, the Elk is a bit on the gamey side, tender with a hint of lamb taste but a finish of liver, it is not for everyone. Scottish Eggs is a soft boiled egg, wrapped in sausage, then deep fried. It is served with a beer mustard. My friend, from England, was quick to order the Scottish Eggs. He reported that they were a bit over cooked but otherwise fine. 6/10. The Kangaroo Philly Cheese Steak sounds more exotic than the taste. For this sandwich I would have appreciated a bit more Kangaroo :-) but otherwise was good. Our friends seemed to enjoy the Boar Schnitzel and the portion was certainly large, as were all the portions at the Washoe Public House. The Short Ribs were so tended and a just a touch on the sweet side. My wife liked the sweetness but as a full meal, it was a bit sweet for my palate. I had the Washoe Burger with Bacon. A solid burger. I would have preferred my patty a bit less cooked but it was fine none the less. Rich with flavor, a solid choice. The fries were good. Nothing spectacular. It you are looking for different, Washoe Public House just might be the ticket. Fantastic cuisine, located close to the River and other entertainment.

My in-laws have been raving about this place for quite some time, and we finally made our way to…read moreReno! My mother-in-law surprised us with a dinner here for our one-year anniversary, and it did not disappoint. The service was wonderful everyone was so friendly and attentively and the restaurant has such a beautiful, classic elegance to it. We ordered the Chateaubriand and OMG... this could seriously feed four people! I absolutely loved the presentation. They bring it out, slice it tableside, and show you the cut right in front of you. Such a nice touch! We also had the crème brûlée, and they surprised us with a chocolate mousse cake for our anniversary. They even give you a palate cleanser of lemon sorbet with non-alcoholic bubbly, which was SO good. Another really sweet touch: they ask to take your photo and then give you a beautiful printed copy to take home! It made the anniversary dinner feel even more special and gave us a little keepsake from the night. Everything from the food to the service and all the little details made the evening memorable. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great steak, wonderful service, and a more elegant dining experience in Reno. Definitely a special-occasion kind of place!
