Upon entering, it is quite noisy despite the smaller amount of customers due to the sound of the wind/water, the music, and everyone walking around outside as well as the people conversing inside. Service is good and gets the job done. Our server was very polite and helpful to our needs. Food didn't take too long to come but also wasn't super fast. It took a fair amount of time. I also liked the menu which shared some pictures and provided a good description of the food. Anything that was fried, such as calamari and fries, were excellent and crunchy. The calamari didn't seem very flavorful at first but the flavor came as you continued eating it, and it went well with the sauce, but it wasn't anything spe. The tacos were flavorful but were very drippy and became soggy quickly. After the first satisfying impressions of the food, we were a bit disappointed that the seafood platter and grouper dinner were quite bland. The fish was over cooked, the veggies were flavorless, and the rice was dry and hard. I must give props to the workers, though. it's quite humid and hot inside the restaurant even with the fans blowing. On top of that, they're running around using more energy and sweat. We ordered 2 appetizers: seafood ceviche & salmon spread. Everything is fresh off the dock-or so it seems-when walking the outdoor pier/docks you see fisherman cleaning fish & pelican's trying to get scraps. Fun times here! The seafood ceviche is lime forward & has lots of good chunks of shrimp & tuna. The tortilla chips are hearty & hold it well. The smoked fish spread is made with salmon. I didn't notice a heavy smoky or fishy flavor. I thought it was good overall, but would try something different next time, but would definitely eat it again! The service is Amazing! We requested to Server get us a table near to waterfront. It's 2 PM, rush time, but we got that after 15-20 minutes. you do not need to wait around, you'll get a text when your table is available. We settled, ordered drinks, and was enjoying the surroundings. We ordered- Crab Cake Dinner: fresh crab cake with chips, salad & sauce. it was great, 2 big fat crab cake patties, I was full having one, but had the rest while enjoying the surrounding. Fish & Chips: it was grouper fish, normally you get 3-4 fish strips, but it was one big chunk of grouper fish with coleslaw and sauce. both items were great. Service might be a little slow as they have to go to the kitchen and return (not the usual distance as you are on the waterfront side) - but I guess ambiance covers this part. Price: it was $25-30 per person (minus drinks). Reasonable Ambiance- I already explained much I guess :P We enjoyed the food, our time spent, and the location! Definitely recommended. And hey, did I mention, we also watched a few dolphins in the water... I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION Here's why... We were happy to find a place that was open until 10 PM. We arrived at 9:20 and asked if we could still be seated and served. A gracious hostess named Julia said "Of course" and welcomed us. After our initial pleasant greeting, it went downhill from there. My daughter was served a cup of apple juice with a giant winged insect in it...inside the kids lid even. At 10:10 PM we were finishing our food when our waiter with a 70s porn mustache clapped his hands loudly and said "OK folks it's time to wrap it up and go!" I asked him if I could finish the meal that I paid for. That set him off and he said "It's really rude to come in right before we close!" Don't worry, won't be making that mistake again. We were visiting from out of state. We popped in for the views. When we sat down I looked at the reviews and was disappointed lol. We decided to order an appetizer and hang for a bit. We ordered the chicken nachos. We were disappointed at first bite lol. They melted cheese was not great. It did not have cilantro or guacamole as mentioned in the menu. It was just the cheese, chicken, and tomatoes. There was a tiny tiny bit of sauce... maybe it was the bbq that's mentioned in the menu I thought it was salsa but either way it wasn't much and it wasn't flavorful. Overall it was ehh. We decided to not order entrees. The views are beautiful and I'm not sure about drinks because we didn't order any. I wouldn't return to eat here. This place is very touristy but fun! In addition to the large main open air tiki dining area, they have floating docks where you can sit waterside with views of all the action dolphins, boats etc., I just had a giant to go Margarita and checked the place out. It's very cool & has a very cool little gift shop with some cool swag. The menu and food looked great but I had already eaten. The Margarita was very nice in the color changing souvenir cup. We were looking for a casual place that wasn't outside since it was so hot, and looking at the menu outside, it had a nice variety for our party of 4. Since it is September and off season, it was empty at lunch time on a Thursday. Our server was friendly and quickly took our drink order. The menu has a large variety of specialty drinks, which, after we ordered, we realized there were no prices. Big mistake on our part. I had the small Watermelon Wave and it was $18.25. My husbands large of a different drink was $22. Yes, they tasted fine, but the alcohol content was minimal for that price. Total rip off. One super annoying thing was all the pigeons and crows walking among the tables, on the tables, on the chairs and eating out of plates not yet removed from the tables. Not sanitary at all. There are appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees. I opted for the chicken quesadilla, which comes with kettle chips. There is an up charge for any other side. Our food came quickly and my meal was hot. The quesadillas were good, but I wasn't totally thrilled with the peppers in them, as it isn't something that is normally there. Atmosphere - Just OK. Your typical dive beach bar/restaurant. Main part of the restaurant is located below the upper boardwalk and is open air. Although situated along the inlet, there are only a few tables that offer a view of the water, other than those situated along the pier. Service - Good. Although no major issues, there was a mixup with a drink order and a side upgrade request that was never provided to the kitchen. Food - Disappointing. I ordered a the cheeseburger with a side of macaroni salad. The burger is advertised as being a half pound, but it seemed smaller than other 1/2 lb burgers that I have been served in other restaurants. It was cooked to the temperature requested and tasted fine. However, the bun was so stale that it broke apart when I bit into it. The side of macaroni salad was so small that it was laughable. Overall Value - not sure that I need to answer this, do I? There are other restaurants in this area that are a far better value. read more

Stopped in on a whim for lunch while in town for Spring Training baseball and I'm so happy we did! We had such a great experience at Caddy's. We asked to sit on the pier by the water and the hostess happily led us to a table with a gorgeous view! Since I was on vacation, I opted for a bucket of the Pain Killer. I was a huge fan of this drink! Very strong and great flavor, definitely worth the price in my opinion. We shared the Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna and Bavarian Pretzel for appetizers, how cute is the anchor pretzel!? Both were very tasty and the cheese sauce that came with the pretzel was SO good. I had the Pork Belly Tacos which were fantastic and my boyfriend had the Chicken Tender Basket which he also enjoyed. While on vacation last week, we stopped here for dinner. The restaurant is right on the pier in St. John's pass. There is a paid parking lot or you can walk here from beach or condo. The wait time was about 30 minutes long since it was a weekend. The staff were friendly. They have partial indoor seating along with outdoor seating by the water. The Tropical BBQ sauce on the Nachos was too sweet for our liking, if we could've gotten it without that sauce it would've been great. The Calamari was ok too but again, the dipping sauce was too sweet and we would've preferred more of a marinara-style sauce. Caddy's on the Pass was lively, with about a 15-minute wait for a table and a live band playing. Our food was just okay, and I felt it was overpriced for what you get, but it's on the water, and it was a weekend night, so I get it. Our server was great and kept coming back to check on us. The best part of our meal was getting to keep the plastic Caddy's cup that changes color to temperatures. We used those cups for drinks during the rest of our stay in Madiera Beach. I had the fish tacos, and they were not bad, but I don't think I would come back for the food. The atmosphere was fun, though, for sure. read more

Came here tonight with my parents for dinner. Our Waitress started out good- she was very kind. The food was decent. We had the ahi tuna appetizer, it was prepped well but could've used some salt. For my meal, I got the blackened snapper with cilantro lime rice and mixed veggie. Unfortunately it was Luke warm, so it must have been sitting for a while. The fish was cooked well but could use more spice. Cilantro lime rice was alright, and veg had no seasoning. Unfortunately, after we were done eating she ditched us. Waited 15 mins for bill, with empty plates on the table, then she finally brought it. Waited 10 more mins for her to take card, and she told us the tablet wouldn't work. She said "I'll be right back with new tablet", but instead she comes back out with drinks for another table and takes food orders. We has to walk up front to pay- they had to call her up front to pay. Unfortunate that the waitress neglected us toward the end because I probably won't be back because of it. read more

This is a great location to enjoy food and beverages right on the water with the familiarity of the Caddy's menu. You'll find TVs to watch sporting events and even live music on some days. The ambiance is lively and our server at this last visit was friendly and helpful. I'd say one of the reasons we keep coming back is they are good for medium sized groups and it is a fun place to bring friends and family when they come visit. You can walk around John's Pass after you eat and be entertained by the shops and views. The other bonus of Caddy's is their bar offerings. Their 'bucket' drinks go down a little easy on the hot summer days. They have a variety of options to wet your whistle and also offer add ons for extra shots on top if you feel you need further assistance. read more

The food itself wasn't great but wasn't terrible and exactly what we expected from a touristy, one-hour wait, $70 "captains platter"-type vacation spot. We also had pigeons eating old food off the floor under our table which, I guess, is easier than sweeping. The atmosphere was questionably "lit" for dinner time w/ super loud music and a DJ. The Madeira Beach location only reopened very recently. It appears they're not able to use their parking under their piers yet so we had to park across the street. It's metered parking at all times, so kind of a bummer I originally made a reservation for outside but reconsidered due to a cool forecast. I left a message early in the day but it seems they never made the adjustment. Luckily, they had room inside and happily moved us. It was quite a breezy, cool evening and they leave the doors wide open so we were still a bit chilly, but it was better than outside. Service was cheerful and accurate for 8 of us. My husband had a regular shrimp basket and I had coconut shrimp. Both were very good, cooked nicely, not dried out, and the fries were good. The couple next to us had a blackened grouper sandwich and Mahi tacos, which they enjoyed. Not sure what everyone else got. We first enjoyed the ceviche appetizer which was fresh and good. It was topped with guacamole so we had to dump out the cup it was served it on a plate to get to the good stuff! For dinner I ordered the blackened grouper sandwich. It was market price and Caddy's is definitely a tourist catered place so it was a little on the pricey side. Criminal. This chain on the water chain charges 22.00 for a sweet, average Mai Thai. They don't list prices for drinks, so shame on me. So, we sat on uncomfortable stools looking out at the water while servers walked by serving seafood that smelled like old fish. Stinky. Really.
