Just a cool outdoor, spiritual kind of space where you can enjoy a cappuccino, a pastry and escape noisy San Pablo Ave,

Came here for lunch with some colleagues and absolutely loved it. This cafe is counter service and self bus, but they do bring the food to you. There is ample seating indoor and outdoor so although there were quite a few people while we were there, it was relatively quiet as people were sat spaced out. This venue is great to come alone and do some work as well as with a larger party. The cafe and outdoor patio has a charm about it that is cute and also random. The staff were friendly and accommodating, I split the veggie wrap with a colleague and they separated it for us. Half was plenty! All the food was fresh. I absolutely loved the veggie wrap and the basil ginger lemonade. I hear the owner also enjoys experimenting with different tea options.

One of the best cafes ever. Food was delicious, ready so quick, coffee and tea, an amazing outdoor seating, with umbrellas. Nice set up. Staff friendly and welcoming. I'd definitely come back.

Best place to grab breakfast and lunch in Berkeley on a sunny day! This neighborhood gem is serving the most delicious chorizo scramble I've ever had so far... Their chorizo is made in house and their chefs know what they're doing. The chorizo sausage was not greasy and made from quality meat and was so flavorful with the right amount of heat. My sister had an incredible grilled salmon salad that had the most delicious green sauce on top of the Salmon. They have plenty of seating outside in their garden and also have an indoor seating area perfect for taking a meeting and working. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. They also have their own self parking lot which is convenient and free. I will be back here again soon to try more from their delicious menu.

Came here with a group of 8 on a Friday for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by how many tables were open - especially for a Friday! Their outdoor seating area is huge, which made it perfect for our big group. You order and pay at the counter, and then they bring the food out to you. Super easy and efficient. All of the food was delicious! I had a mango lassi that was absolutely amazing - definitely recommend. I also tried the turmeric matcha latte, but it was a little heavy on the turmeric for my taste. I split the salmon salad and the salmon tayab, and both were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The fries were also super yummy! And the matcha smoothie I tried and it was great. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. Great spot for groups, casual vibe, and really yummy food!

This cute little cafe is definitely one to gate keep! I went on a Friday morning, around 10:30am and it wasn't too busy. At first impressions you can tell it's a family owned business so that's always great! At the entrance they have a display of pastries and on the back wall a wide selection of tea! Which is so cool and unique, you don't really see much places now a days that have a wide selection of tea. For a tea lover like me that is always a great plus! The seating area is so spacious and cozy inside. As well as art, from I'm assuming local artists are p laced on some parts of the walls which you could purchase! What I absolutely loved was the outdoor patio! You are transported to a cute little zen backyard with plenty of seats to choose from! Lots of plants and flowers are around the patio as well. One thing that completed my whole breakfast experience was the cute little water fountain! It provided such a calming element while enjoying breakfast! Now let's talk food! I ordered the Chicken Tyab which came with a very well seasoned chicken, a side of Mediterranean salad, dolmas, lavish bread and hummus! The whole plate itself was so delicious!

Very good customer service, friendly vibes, very good options for seating indoors and outdoors. The Food was delicious! The food came out much faster than expected. Our puppy enjoyed the outdoor seating aura.

The breakfast plate offered more than enough food - should have shared it!

On our way back to Marin from Oakland airport we decided to stop in Berkeley for breakfast and wait for the traffic to die down. My daughter did a search that pointed us to the cafe so we figured "what the heck" and headed here. I've gotta say you sure get your money's worth at this place. I ordered a typical bacon & eggs breakfast and was floored by the amount of food that came out - home fries, toast, and a fruit bowl that would have been a good breakfast in itself! Everything we ordered was DEE-LISH, the coffee was strong and not bitter, and the service was first-rate. It was raining so we ate inside but there is a just beautiful outside garden/seating area that would be lovely if it ever stops raining in the Bay area. Anyway now I'm looking forward to coming back to try Leila for lunch - I suspect it'll be another great experience. Kinda out of the way but they do have parking which is great!

For our drinks, I had the Moonlight Blossom, my aunt had a glass of red wine, and my mom had a cucumber mint spritzer (mocktail as she was the DD). The moonlight blossom tasted similar to cherry limeade. The entrees we had were the mussels, veggie burger, and the chef's market pizza. The mussels themselves were tasty and appreciated that they were able to leave out the chorizo. However, I wish that they brought a spoon and there was more broth. I tried some of my mom's veggie burger and the red color from the beets made it stand out from the usual veggie burger. The fries tasted homemade. I had a slice of the pizza and while I like the ingredients themselves, the combination just didn't do it for me. The crust was good though! We also shared a green goddess salad, which was tasty. The desserts looked amazing but we had no room! Service was friendly and our waitress made good recommendations. Can park on the side streets or the garage. Restaurant was not noisy. Would come back to try other items, especially dessert.

The food also came out pretty quickly. The presentation of the pizza was top notch and I could not wait to dig in. The portion size was adequate. The vegan cheese was yummy and the spice level of the pizza was just right. The pizza was packed with flavor and thin crust! My friend liked the shakshouka too. He said it was flavorful and tasted great! Over all, we loved this restaurant. The ambiance is very welcoming and they have farm to table concept. Wood Tavern met the criteria for a relatively nice American restaurant in North Oakland. We visited for lunch and wanted to make this special for our mom, so we were perhaps a bit overdressed in business casual, but this is Oakland after all. On an ordinary Thursday, there were multiple groups waiting outside for the restaurant to open at 11:30 AM. That in itself should tell you how popular this place is. My wife and I dined at sister restaurant Southie next door a few years ago and really enjoyed it (I also rated it five stars on Yelp), so I was confident Wood Tavern would not disappoint. I initially booked our reservation using OpenTable to link it to my account and get 100 points. Since the max party size for Wood Tavern on OpenTable is four, I had to call to get it changed to eight. Due to the large party size, the restaurant also required me to give them my credit card info and be subject to a $25 per person no-show fee. Upon arrival, our tables were ready for us in the back corner near the open kitchen. The restaurant is true to its name with a shared bar and dining room space that evoke the feel of a wood tavern. Here's what we had: Wine of the Day * Rosé (100% Zweigelt), Stefan Pratsch, Niederösterreich, Austria, 2024 ($16) "N/A Libations" and other drinks * Cherry Bomb! non-alcoholic cocktail ($13) - Tilden Lacewing, Amarena cherry, lime, ginger beer, tall glass * Shirley Temple ($5) * Diet Coke ($5) * Iced Tea ($4) Soup & Salad * Red & Golden Beet Salad x2 ($16 each, one with fish added for $8) - frisee, castelfranco, pistachios, orange segments, Laura Chenel goat cheese, Cara Cara orange vinaigrette Sandwiches * The Hot Pastrami x2 ($25 each) - Emmentaler cheese, Dijon-horseradish dressing, La Farine baguette Old Reliables * Seafood Stew ($32) - rock cod, Manila clams, PEI mussels, calamari, butter beans, fennel, leeks, chili flakes, garlic toast * Pork Ragu Casarecce ($30) - Castelvetrano olives, Pecorino Romano, Grana Padano, chili flakes, parsley * Tavern Burger with French Fries on Acme Soft Bun with All the Fixins x3 ($25 each, two with cheddar added for $2 each) Everything was excellent. As for what to order, I recommend all of the dishes we got. It really just depends on what you like and/or what you're in the mood for. Everyone loved the food. The beet salad was fresh and flavorful, the pastrami was one of the best I've had anywhere, my mom raved about the seafood stew, my brother-in-law gobbled up all of the casarecce, and the burger was outstanding. Service was polite and speedy. Our server Sophia C was awesome. We split one of the salads and the stew, so they came out plated and served in half portions which was nice of the kitchen staff to do.

I am glad I took a chance on this place because the whole experience was great. I called a couple hours before and was able to reserve a table for 2. Being unfamiliar with the area I didn't anticipate parking being hard to find, but after circling the block once, we found a spot. We were greeted warmly by staff and quickly seated. The decor was nice; great ambiance; large bar with a lot of tv's (perfect for watching the last game of the NBA finals, as the Knicks won). We both ordered the raspberry lemonade. I have been a huge fan of fresh handmade lemonade lately and it did not disappoint. Fresh, tart and sweet. A little too tart for my GF's taste, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. Appetizers were the Millionaire's Bacon and Cheesy Gyoza. The bacon was soooo good. 2 perfectly cooked pieces of thick cut bacon with its sweet, sticky coating that was well balanced and not too sweet. Cheese and Gyoza with bell pepper is a combination I didn't know I needed. It was a pairing that was full of flavor and left us saying "OMG, WHAT THE". Great start for the meal. The Club Moco was calling my name, and I'm glad I answered back. Every element of the dish was cooked perfectly. The gravy was full of flavor and made the dish. Everything together was so complimentary and made every bite so enjoyable. My GF ordered the G.I. Fried Rice. The table side presentation was really cool as it came plated on a cast iron plate and the egg that's usually scrambled and mixed in the rice, was poured around the plated rice allowing you to scramble and mix however you like. I only had a couple bites and can say that I would be happy to order that dish as my main course next time. The mix of the rice, more candied bacon, spam and kimchi was full of flavor. I have never heard of this restaurant and am thankful to Yelp for helping me to look up places so easily where I was visiting. The only thing that surprised me is that I thought that place should have been packed. Service was great, ambiance was great, food was great and the NBA finals was on. I imaging this would be a great place to watch World Cup matches. Highly recommended! Go check it out!

We took advantage of this option because one of our party does not eat fish or lamb. The café upstairs is more casual and items can be ordered à la carte from the seasonal menu. I enjoyed my Sonoma duck breast and carrot soup, but the winner was the cardamom mousse. I highly recommend any dish that features fresh produce, especially the bowl of fresh fruit for dessert.

My family made reservations, which are hard to come by. They need to be made well in advance. We arrived before our 8:30pm reservation and, unfortunately, weren't seated until after 9:00pm. Once inside the dining area, it was lively and loud, intimate, and somewhat more formal compared to their upstairs cafe. Service from all staff was kind; the host occasionally stopped by; our food was delivered, and we were checked on throughout. It was also lovely to peek inside the open-air kitchen. If you dine in their dining area, it's prix-fixe. On my Mom's birthday, they had a salad, pasta, steak, and ice cream. The salad was good--I don't eat mushrooms, but found it tasty and a bit over-dressed. My favorite was the pasta, a little spice. Warm from the noodles but cold from the cheese--the shrimp was nicely cooked. For our entrée, we had a rib-eye. I don't eat steak, but for this occasion I did--it was good, but because I rarely eat beef, I couldn't compare it to other rib-eyes I'd had. The vegetables were good and quite fresh. I gave the ice cream to my family since I don't have dairy, but the fruit was great! Overall I enjoyed more dishes than others. The bread and drinks were also good. The restaurant is off Shattuck Ave. with street parking around.
