Ive been going to this café since they opened I've loved it from the jump, even when packed my wait time has never been bad. They have lovely bagels i just recently started buying. And the environment is great, they have outdoor seating ! Love café Rome

Friendly staff and food is great. We added strawberries to our Nutella crepe which was packed with fresh strawberries. Definitely worth it. Presentation was beautiful.

On my visit, I ordered the nutella crépe with a few slices of fresh strawberries and banana, topped with chocolate drizzle, powdered sugar and whip cream. The crepe mix was good. I think it would be a lot better if there was an option to add an ice-cream scoop. We also decided to order the iced cinnamon dolce latte. You could definitely taste the "dolce". I wish they went lighter on the sweetener, but it was good. 4/5. The gentleman that helped us out was great. I appreciate great customer service. 5/5. The inside has several seating area. Great for a small meeting, study session, solo date, etc. 5/5.

I have visited Café Rome a few time with my family and we are impressed by both the quality & variety of offerings. The Turkish coffee stood out with its rich, bold flavor and smooth finish--an authentic & satisfying experience. The crepe was generously portioned, delicately sweet, & beautifully balanced in texture. I also tried the pizza bagel sandwich, which was packed with flavor & offered a fun twist on a comfort classic. The breakfast sandwich on a jalapeño bagel delivered a perfect kick, with fresh ingredients & a savory profile that hit all the right notes. To round it all out, the strawberry Red Bull drink was refreshing & flavorful--an energizing treat with just the right touch of sweetness. Definitely a spot worth revisiting for both the quality and creativity of its menu.

Amazing little cafe! Their drinks, food, and service is unmatched. Everything was so delicious. The coffees were the perfect amount of strong and sweet. Also the bagels were sooo good one of the best I've had. Such a welcoming feeling and the workers were so nice. We also got these chocolates from the store and we've only tried a few but they're so good. Little hard to find but I think it was an us problem lol.

Overall amazing service! Staff are absolutely nice and accommodating. Not to mention the crepes! Usually when I get crepes at other places they are too sweet and rich to where I can barely eat it. But cafe Rome's Nutella crepes are the perfect amount of sweetness. Batter is perfect! Café Rome is such a cute spot with really good coffee and a great selection to choose from. I found it while visiting family and looking for something different than the usual chain places. Now, every time I'm in town from the Bay Area, I make sure to walk over with my mom. We usually sit out on the patio, they have a cute little spot that's perfect for relaxing. Their customer service is always really great and accommodating with our drinks. The woman who's usually there is so sweet and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit!

We were in town shopping for furniture and decided to try this place out since it has good reviews & I love crepes! Overall, it was good. The crepe I chose was the dulce de leche with bananas and strawberries. Service was ok. This is where my stars went down. I walked up super happy to be there because it's my birthday & the day is just getting started. The lady taking my order was polite & made some coffee suggestions. I went for the traditional Cafe de hoya & the crepe mentioned above. I'm new to this place & it was pretty obvious. When my food was ready, I had to come up to the front register to pick it up. Being brought to my table would have been nice. The crepe came with no cutlery, coffee came with no cream or sugar, but I did notice up against the side of the register there's a small spot where sugar & stir sticks are available. So I had to get up again from my table to grab these items. Being told where I could find cutlery, sugar, creamer and such would have been nice. When I asked for creamer, the lady gave me this adorable little Mexican pottery cup with creamer. I think overall, the concept is good for this place, but the execution needs a little work. Even just telling your customers where to find these items would be nice. Anyway, hopefully, the staff just steps it up a bit more. Wishing your business nothing but success!

They are at a different location now, just down the street from the addresscurrently listed here on Yelp! The food was not bad at all. We enjoyed the drinks as well. Service was fine and the atmosphere is nice. We were glad to try it!

Crepe and coffee were delicious but very overpriced. 2 crepes and 2 coffees should not be $23. The decode was nice and clean. However, the workers were extremely rude. No greeting. Just a "are you ready?" Then after paying, she didn't say anything, just walked away. Good idea, just poorly executed. I won't be coming back. read more

I'll be honest. It's such a beautiful place to go and hang out... for water. (That's if they have any that day) I went in and ordered two breakfast bagels, one pizza bagel, and two strawberry lemonades (size regular). The lady in the front that took our order was really sweet I can't remember her name.(May have been the owner) Anyways.. she said it will be about 10 mins. My husband and I sat down on the couch to wait. I was glancing around and realized this family sitting down with their frappes and they were all without ice and the whip cream all melted (i figured they were saving them for their food) and yes i was right.. they had been waiting for 3 crepes.. 3!! For 40 mins... I looked over and the girl making them had only one crepe station on.. they have 3 in total. She was working so slow and taking her time I didn't see any movement coming from her. A guy clocked in a couple mins after and asked the lady that took my order (pretty sure it was the owner) where she needed him.. he realized the girl doing the crepes wasn't moving so he took over.. and let me tell you I never seen those crepes come out so quick! I wish I remembered his name because I only saw him moving quick and taking everything out. Around this time I had my drinks but no bagels.. 25 mins after I ordered.. I realized a guy sitting by the window alone and I realized he was there already before I ordered.. but he didn't have a drink or food so I figured he was meeting up with someone to have lunch.. and no i was wrong.. we had been waiting for 2 crepes... TWO FOR 40 mins and that's not even adding the time I seen him in there so I say 1hr wait.. for two crepes.. luckily that guy that took over the crepe station had them out in a snap! I'm there still waiting and the lady asks me "are you waiting on some thing?" Umm yes my two bagels(I would have rather took a drive to Merced for my breakfast bagels!) she looked confused.. they hadn't even started my bagels... how hard is it to put eggs,Ham and cheese.. (even tho they messed my order up I refused to wait for them to fix it I would have probably even there for 2hrs) I finally received my two breakfast bagels 40 mins after I ordered... I was upset. Oh and did I mention the place only had the people waiting for their food so that family and the guy and two people that came in after me.. empty and they couldn't keep up.. I thank the guy that took the crepe station over and moved fast! I just think they all need to work together as a TEAM and communicate and move fast to get stuff done.. for sure I will NOT be going back.. truly upset. read more

First time here and was not disappointed. Ordered a Breakfast Crepe and Nutella Strawberry Banana Crepe. Both were perfectly cooked! Breakfast crepe had a yummy Chipotle sauce and filled w bacon eggs and ham and spinach. The temperature of the crepes was perfectly warm. The coffee is average, Crepes Amazing! read more

Very nice coffee shop, but you can't even tell it exists. It is located in the perfect downtown area but there is no sign, so it took me 20 minutes to find it when meeting with a friend for coffee. I would think for such a cute themed coffee shop that it would be busy. I think they just need to have a sign up. read more

Cafe rome is a great coffee shop that offers great coffee and delicious crepes. The decor is very unique and gives a European vibe. Customer service was outstanding when I visited as I was greeted by bronil one of cafe's employees. read more

Brandi was great. Very helpful; however when initially walking in, all staff were staring and after saying "hello", still no response. When ordering, the lady smirked unkindly when asked if they can make a certain drink iced. Good prices, but terrible service. Won't be back. There are too many other downtown options with wonderful service. read more

A pretty average place overall. I went yesterday evening and had the tomato mozzarella (with added chicken) crepe and it wasn't bad. It had pretty good flavor but wasn't special. I also had the matcha latte and it was tasty but more sweet than I would have preferred. While the food was okay, I really did not understand the vibe this place was trying to give off. The decor seemed all over the place, as if the designers were either in a time crunch or didn't care how the place looked. (Low lighting as if for a romantic setting yet the vibe was casual, an intrusively large table, panels tacked up to a wall looking blase, and the bathroom placed in the center of the restaurant was offputting). It left me feeling pretty confused while I ate as to how I would describe the restaurant (perhaps wannabe rustic chic?) and made the place feel so unwelcoming that I probably would not go back. On a positive note, however, the guy who worked there was very nice. read more

We only tried the coffee which was really good! But the employees behind the counter did not say hi, did not smile, and just looked like they hated their lives. The girl at the register had her arms crossed and only slightly smiled and spoke after I tried to start up some conversation. Simple friendly customer service skills are needed here. The bathroom was also a disaster. read more

Amazing place. Super cute and cozy. Definitely a great Starbucks alternative if you're going to hang out and get some work done. They even have outlets. The one thin they are missing though is some more relaxed seating for those that wish to stay and type a paper or two. read more

Went today with a friend and had asked if they had any flavors of mocha frappes the cashier was very rude and you could tell by the tone of his voice made me feel very uncomfortable and unease felt like I wasn't welcome and felt like i had stepped into the conversation. And had asked the cashier what drinks were on the menu and he just looked at me like if i was stupid. . The drinks are a bit overpriced and aren't even all that . Especially mind you I just drove twenty mins to come and get some coffee . You can tell he was bothered when I kept asking him questions. In the middle of taking my order he was continuing talking to the other employee and didn't acknowledge me and snatched my money out of my hands fast once i had order . Would not be returning to that place ever and don't recommend for people to ever step a foot into their . Also would of wanted to speak with the store manager but knowing the fact you probably wouldn't of let me speak with a manager . Staying the fact that I'm a manager in the food industry and by the way the employee served me today he would of been fired. read more

I explained that I was waiting for my husband before ordering. She responded by saying, "Oh well, they're waiting," referring to the customers behind me. I immediately replied, "That's fine, go ahead!" so the other customers could order first, but her reaction afterward felt dismissive and somewhat annoyed. We later placed and paid for our order. Shortly after, my husband decided he wanted a Biscoff latte instead, so we politely asked if the drink could be changed. Another employee kindly stepped in and said she could do it, which we appreciated. I specifically asked for the drink to be changed to an iced Biscoff latte. Unfortunately, when the drinks came out, mine was still hot instead of iced. I went back up respectfully and let them know there had been a mix-up. Both employees looked at each other and chuckled in what came across as annoyance. I even apologized for the inconvenience, but the first employee responded by saying, "We are just too busy." I completely understand that working in customer service can be overwhelming, and I always try to be patient and understanding. However, at the time there were only a couple of seated customers and just the two of us waiting for our drinks, so the comment felt unnecessary. By that point, the interaction from the moment we walked in had already made the experience feel uncomfortable. We ended up grabbing our drinks and leaving disappointed. I usually enjoy leaving positive reviews, especially for small businesses, so it was unfortunate because we came in excited after reading such wonderful things about this place.

It's a cute little coffee shop with limited seating. I ordered a biscoff latte, hot, and a pesto turkey sandwich. The sandwich was delicious, the coffee was delicious, but it arrived iced. I was disappointed but didn't want to complain and the drink was good so I just dealt with it. My mom ordered a simple breakfast and she enjoyed it. It's a cute space and I would try it again.

It felt more like a club scene rather than a nice dinner spot. I asked if the waitress could lower the music and she said they weren't allowed to touch it. Upon seeing the reviews of this place, I see why. The business owner claims that they're trying to curate a "lively atmosphere" and it's "not for everyone". That's wack. If half of your reviews are telling you the music is too loud, lower it. I could barely hear my partner speak and had to read lips just to try to have a conversation. Plus some of the waitstaff were changing songs midway through or skipping songs. It was distracting. On top of that, the main dishes do not come with a side. Every single side option is an up charge. I knew when ordering the salmon, that it wouldn't come with a side. But everyone should note that you're spending $25 on an 8oz salmon and two slices of lemon with not a single side. No rice, no nothing. To be honest, you can go to Texas Roadhouse and get the same exact thing for the same exact price and get two sides for free. Plus you're not hounded by extremely loud music. Last thing to note, our waitress was also working the bar. There was a couple at one other table and someone at the bar. Other than that, the restaurant was completely empty. We barely saw our waitress and had to wait for quite a while when we wanted to order another drink. We spent a lot of extra time than we wanted to waiting around. My positive about this restaurant is that the decor is nice and that they let you modify the dish a bit. We ordered the pasta trio and they let us get two of one type of pasta. The pesto was really good. The deals on Thursday for drinks is good. The bread and butter was really good but an extra $5. Overall? Business owner: please take note of what customers are saying and compromise. If a customer asks for the server to lower the music, staff should be allowed to, even if just a little bit. What sort of "lively atmosphere" are you trying to create on a Thursday night at 7pm with a restaurant 90% empty? Maybe change the vibe of the music based on the time of day. Your decorations say "nice dinner" your music says "sports bar". There is an in between and I know it can be found. I hope everyone can learn something from this review.

Typically I always go for chilaquiles so I was torn but I decided to be different and since it is a crepe place I went with the mushroom and bacon crepe. The sauce they use on the crepe is decently spicy, so if you're spice sensitive I recommend getting it on the side. My friend's daughter had the breakfast crepe and it also had the same sauce and she had to eat around it, but she trooped through! It appears customer service has fallen to the wayside - I just called to try and place a togo order and was dismissed by the staff member on the other line and told to use the web app(through toast). However, the toast menu doesn't match the menu on table 26's own website. When I pointed this out to the staff member I was told that if I wanted one of those items I could come in and order it in person. I clarified that the person wouldn't accept call in orders and they told me they don't have the ability to do that(despite it saying on yelp that you can call to order). I'm not sure if the phone lines have been outsourced or something else, but any place that makes it this hard for me to be a customer has lost me as one. It's unfortunate as this used to be one of Turlock's gems for both food and service.

But she probably noticed my surprise, so she offered to give me a free refill, which I didn't take in the end since we were in a hurry. Allison seemed nice, but I would just suggest having a clearer menu with prices so that customers don't have to guess what they're paying for. I won't be coming back because I didn't feel like I was getting my money's worth.

Shortly after, my husband decided he wanted a Biscoff latte instead, so we politely asked if the drink could be changed. Another employee kindly stepped in and said she could do it, which we appreciated. I specifically asked for the drink to be changed to an iced Biscoff latte. Unfortunately, when the drinks came out, mine was still hot instead of iced. I went back up respectfully and let them know there had been a mix-up. Both employees looked at each other and chuckled in what came across as annoyance. I even apologized for the inconvenience, but the first employee responded by saying, "We are just too busy." I completely understand that working in customer service can be overwhelming, and I always try to be patient and understanding. However, at the time there were only a couple of seated customers and just the two of us waiting for our drinks, so the comment felt unnecessary. By that point, the interaction from the moment we walked in had already made the experience feel uncomfortable. We ended up grabbing our drinks and leaving disappointed. I have been coming here for quite some time now, actually since they've opened. I've got to say it's very convenient and in the perfect spot in turlock. The minute you walk in its very comfortable and a vibe to where you can just kick back and relax. They have a spot to where you can sit and watch people walk by, or even do your homework there. The workers are all amazing, each and every one of them you can tell they know what they're doing when It comes to crepes and different drinks they have to offer. I always get a strawberry banana smoothie but once in a blue moon I'll get a Nutella crepe or even a salad. Long story short, this place is amazing! I love the vibe and everything that comes along with Café Rome! Anyone downtown Turlock definitely needs to stop there! read more

The young ladies that appeared to be working the counter were so busy eating food and conversing on their cell phones at the far end of the counter that they never noticed that i had entered the building. No friendly greeting never noticed me standing at the counter waiting to place my order. this was very unprofessional and I hope this type of customer service doesn't happen often. Very disappointed to see such carelessness in the work environment. read more

Fair prices, good strong coffee, and locally owned. They also have crepes aside from coffees and teas. Customer service is also great as well as the relaxed atmosphere. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Dogs welcome on the patio. read more
