The bread had a good texture the pork was flavorful and the fried egg tied everything together perfectly. It's my go-to order. I also ordered their iced vietnamese coffee and it was great. First, their bread used to be soft, fluffy, with a nice crisp on the outside. Last time I ordered, it tasted very stale with a very hard shell (the ones that will rip the roof of your mouth). This time, the bread again was stale and dry, the color looked undercooked, and the shell was very hard. The only way I've been able to eat it is by breaking the shell off. I know they mentioned they make their bread fresh daily, and both times I've gotten the banh mi around noon, so either I got older bread, the recipe changed, or it's been sitting out too long? Second, the amount of meat has decreased. It used to be so full! I also noticed the ham that used to be pink/red is a weird brown/yellow color, a bit off-putting but I ate it anyway. I'll probably try it again one more time in a month to determine if I need to find another banh mi spot. Every time I walk in, I'm greeted with a smile, they know me by name, and they always make me feel appreciated (even got a free coke and soup) Thank you! That kind of genuine hospitality is rare. They've even surprised me with small freebies from time to time, which really shows how much they value their customers. It was easy to order the free steak and cheese melt. Got my receipt and waited for my name to be called. It got kinda confusing because they were calling many "Mikes". I ended up waiting close to 20 min for my sub because although I told them my name was "Michelle C." they kept reading it as "Michael C." so I didn't think it was me. Since it was my first experience here, I wasn't sure how long it usually took for one to be made. Eventually I walked up and asked if they had called "Michelle" and they said no until I looked at the bag on the counter and it was my name. It had been sitting there getting cold the whole time.
