A nice study spot. They have daily $3 drink deals so it's great spot for students or anyone looking for a spot with affordable drinks. I got the pandan matcha and it was good! The pandan favor was there. You can order at the kiosk. Service was quick and the store had a good amount of large tables.

So cool to see how much Cafe 86 has grown over the years. We used to visit their Chino location when they first opened about a decade ago. The menu was pretty limited back then and they were only open a few days a week. Now they have expanded a lot and offer way more options. We tried the Milo cupcake, Mini Upside Down Halo Halo, and Mini Mais Con Yelo. All were tasty. I normally skip the halo halo because I do not like beans, but their version uses assorted jellies and boba, and the cornflakes add a nice crunch. It was actually really enjoyable. Definitely planning to come back and check out more of their drinks next time.

We came, we saw, we got milk tea. Loved my experience at this cafe 86 location. We came and got the deal at the time. I got a taro and my partner got a milk tea. They are always running specials. The manager served us and she was so kind to walk us through the menu. This is definitely a chill cafe spot with indoor and outdoor seating and has parking in the garage. It's not upscale by any means but it's a pleasant ambient vibe. You should definitely check it out.

This cafe is ube galore! The upside down halo halo ($10.95) is my go to item. I really like how they don't use beans in their halo halo! Also tried the ube pop tart ($5.95), and it was pretty good as well! Kind of hidden, but very cute cafe vibes with couches. Great for studying or chatting it up with friends.

I remember the first time I went to Cafe 86 was in Old Pas years ago (in the alley by Burke Williams). I was happy to discover that they have opened one close to home in W. Covina! Great for all things ube, they have a plethora of Ube flavored drinks and sweets. They even have a new drink called Matcha Pandan - extra green (if matcha isn't green enough) for all those who want something to drink while wearing their quarter zips. I got a house milk tea, Milo milk tea and Mais con Yelo bar. All were great, although the Milo milk tea was not dissolved and still very powdery so I was getting chunks of Milo powder in every sip. Not sure if that was intentional? Staff is friendly, interior is cozy and relaxing and a would be good to hang out/study in. Enjoy!

I haven't had mais con yelo in forever. Theirs brought back happy childhood memories. My sister ordered and paid from their on-site kiosk. Our Server Grace was friendly and efficient. Our visit was on a Monday after lunch and the place wasn't packed. We soon got our orders. The churrochi was overly sweet for me. The halo-halo bread pudding was mish-mash of flavors that I am still trying to decide if I like or not. There are many seating options with two nooks that looked cozy. The work station was clean and visible to the customers.

Place is clean and very open! They have wifi so perfect for studying. I didn't check if they have outlets, but there's plenty of seating. The Thai tea is solid! They give you a big size and it's very flavorful. The halo halo mini size was still very filling. There were still some chunks of ice so it could have been blended better. I like the variety of toppings, but I would probably try other things on the menu before going back to the halo halo. You can order on the kiosk or with the cashier. Service was good! They kindly answered many of my questions.

Best thing about this place, is probably their prices. It's very reasonable. Very spacious. And great parking options. We didn't get to try the food, but we did order the coffee and the Taro drink. 8/10. I was a little turn off by the color of my drink, but it's not going to scare me away to give them another chance. This is my first time trying Filipino style desserts. So let's see if they're pretty good eh or ew. The workers here were super nice and I go thier maiz con yelo halo halo, matcha pandan, churrochi, maiz con yelo bar, turon poptart, ube crinckle cookie, ans ube truffle to try. The maiz con yelo halo halo was perfectly sweet, refreshing, and had good corny flaves. Kinda reminded me of the corn bingsu I had but with more elements like the flan and ice cream that made it more decadent. The matcha pandan had good matchay flaves, was milky, not too sweet, and slightly coco nutty? I think that was from the pandan. The churrochi had a lightly crisp sugary exterior with a fun chewy interior, was drizzled with plenty of caramel and paired really well with the vanilla ice cream that came wiTh it. The maiz con yelo bar was super dense like cheesecake, had a thick lowkey bland crust, and was kinda one note. It did have decently light corn flaves tho. The turon poptart had like a banana paste and jack fruit filling and was pretty dry. The ube crinkle cookie and truffles tho. MNM. Both had Plenty of those nutty ubey earthy vanillay notes. The cookie was perfectly buttery, thick and not dry or crumbly and the truffle was like an ube fundgey brownie ball coated in Oreos. There were some hits and misses but Overall this place is lowkey pretty good. This newly opened Cafe 86 can be found in West Covina, right by The Colony at Lake Apartments. Street parking is available (there is also a parking structure with a sign about validation but did not inquire closer). For their special July 4th deal, Cafe 86 was selling all of their tea drinks for only $2 each (prior to tax). I decided to take advantage of this deal and ordered online: Tiger Tea Hibiscus Calamansi Tea Ube Milk Tea The Rosie Ube Butter Bars- Very, very sweet. The flavor of ube does shine through. I do like the shortbread that the ube is on. Mais Con Yelo Bar- This is also very sweet and is similar to corn bread, but a lot sweeter. Ube Leche Flan Cupcake- Did not get a chance to try this. But I have had this in the past from one of their other locations and always thought it was sweet but liked the unique combination of flan and a cupcake. Ube Cashew Brownie- I like the added cashews but this is also very sweet. -------------------------- (Total= $33.40 after tax with $2 tea special, higher prices ordering online and service fee) I did not realize later on that I paid more than what the cost of these items are in store. If you order online, the price is a little higher per item and also I was charged a $0.50 service fee. Honestly that is greedy but I suppose that is the convenience of ordering online. All of the drinks I ordered were really, really sweet. Even though I ordered them to be made with less ice and no sugar. I had to add more water to my Tiger Tea to dilute the sweetness (just for reference, I typically like to have my drinks between 25- 50% sweetness). The desserts I ordered just feels like someone just dropped an entire bag of sugar into the mix. Which I honestly don't recall these baked goods being so sweet before. I don't know if the recipe has changed or if this particular location has just decided to add significantly more sweetener/ sugar to their desserts... But Filipinos sure do love their sweets (please note that although I am not Filipino, I did grow up eating a lot of Filipino food because I had a Filipino nanny growing up). Service was friendly but had to wait to pick up my items, as this eatery was slammed with customers (for $2 tea, you know people will come in droves and order more than 1 drink, just like I did). I don't know if I would come back. I am a little disappointed with how sweet everything is (as I don't recall their desserts being this sweet from previous visits to their location in Chino Hills and Pasadena.... which that location has been closed for years now). I am also disappointed on the higher price online and the service fee that I was not made aware of. But my review shouldn't upset you, because then it would mean one less person to wait behind in line the next time you come here (because you have learned from my mistake and you'll order in person to save a little extra money).

So far I have been to three locations of Cafe 86. I didn't realize there were quite so many branches of it but I am not complaining. I stop by this shop over the weekend. They were offering a complimentary cup of their pandan matcha seasonal drink. I thought the cafe itself is very cozy and somewhere I wouldn't mind sitting in for a while. They have an ordering screen in the shop. I found the service to be extremely friendly and polite. I noticed they made the drink with a lot of care. It was not rushed at all. I really appreciate the restraint with sweetness. I could really taste the flavors and the iced matcha was extremely refreshing on a warm day. I am already a big fan of their halo halo. It is very decadent but is an occasional treat for me on a hot day.

I ordered a single halo halo and some girl named Jenny stole my drink. I was waiting at the pick up area for 20 minutes and the only one Halo halo I saw was put on top of 'Jenny'. There is no way you don't realize you took a wrong drink because all the drinks weren't packed. Anyway, after 20 minutes while other people's order was made as I could see from the timestamps, I raised my concern to the staff. She gave me an extra fruit tea and a cookie so I was less pissed.

I ordered a tiger milk tea. The drink was a bit too bland for my taste. I did ask the employee to make it sweeter which they added a pump of cane sugar but it really wasn't hitting the spot. I didn't want to trouble them with adding more pumps so I just said thanks and went about my night. I think they may need to use a higher concentration of flavoring. The cafe was empty, clean, and a bit loud because of the music. read more

Lets start with the service: Grace is literally the sweetest! She helped me over the phone with the phone order and it was more than just 2 things it was several. She helped me when it was a time that was busy, so for her to remember what order is which and which order for what bag, the greatest! And when I left with the wrong order, she was kind to call back and let me know that the order wasnt mine rather than me finding out and later dealing with that. So for that, thank you! For the food: words cant express how much their baked goods is my FAVORITE! Their ube truffle, and the ube leche flan cupcake is my usual go-to order! No complaints there! Lastly: ambiance is a very well lit place. Kinda dim kinda bright more of a chill study vibe. It also helps that the cafe has a bunch of windows so natural lighting comes from there. Top it off, FINALLY A CAFE 86 THAT IS DOWN THE STREET FROM ME! My dog and I can finally take a walk and I can grab a quick snack. I am super excited that they finally opened one here and I have been waiting since SUMMER for them to open. No more going to Chino Hills or Northridge. Thank you so much Grace for the help and being so patient with my order. I'll definately be coming back since this is my favorite Filipino Cafe!!! read more

This location shares the same building as a nice luxury apartment called The Colony. There is plenty of parking. All the staff is highly professional and friendly. Since this is a cafe with Filipino inspired drinks and desserts, the Halo Halo is a must. I recommend the "upside down Halo Halo" for an elevated Ube flavor. Also, love their panini sandwiches and fruit coolers. The dragon fruit & calamansi is my favorite. read more

First time here! I can say the staff is very friendly! Place is incredibly clean! Spotless even. Downfalls: The pastrami sandwich was disappointing--too skinny and overpriced. I compared pictures to the chino hills cafe 86, and they are more are more filled. Flavor made up for the some of the disappointment. Churrochi: also VERY skinny. You must pay extra for the ice cream. read more

This location just opened and staff is still getting use to the flow. Located in the Down Town strip area of West Covina. Easy parking on the street or in apartment structure. Well decorated with modern feel. I placed the order using the kiosk, please note, no cash accepted. Order went through and got a text with receipt. It was an hour til closing and staff was still playing catch up. The manager Grace was apologetic on how long the order took. Ended ordering a Halo Halo with the flan in it. Over all the dessert was good to end the evening. The wife and I always support local businesses, so this was on our list to try. Cafe 86, welcome to the neighborhood. read more

I paid $10.50 for a very disappointing upside down halo halo. Initially the few first bites were delicious. I enjoyed the vanilla ice cream, flan and ube base and cornflakes until I reached the bottom and found it to just be full of jellies. The description on the website describes the upside down halo halo as this, "Signature Ube base Halo Halo. Includes Coconut Jellies, Jack Fruit, Boba, Frosted Flakes, Scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream and Flan." There was no Bobo or jackfruit in my upside down halo halo. There was an Americanized halo halo, I miss the beans, nata de coco, macapuno, etc. while I liked the concept of this, I was left missing the traditional ingredients. This is the 2nd time I've been in here, & both times have been great! I love ube, so what could go wrong, right? The ube milkshake & ube butter bar were great the first time - & this time, the peach mango iced tea & ube pop tart were yummy too! I can't wait to try the lattes after this pregnancy is over & don't have to watch my caffeine intake!! The ube butter bar is not too sweet in my opinion or the ube pop tart, & I got my tea half sweet & is just the right amount of sweetness(: Also, the ambience is so chill - I have come here alone both times & feel comfortable sitting here by myself...nice little break from my hectic life. Staff are so friendly! I just ordered the green rose milk tea with boba and asked for half sweet and it was perfect. They even checked on me again after I got my drink to make sure that I liked it. So Fresh & Delicious!…read more I tried C&R Fresh Foods for the first time a week ago. I did some research on Yelp to see the menu and recommended options. I was craving a wrap so why not come give em a try. The parking lot has plenty of spaces as it located on the long strip mall in this part of West Covina. The location is pretty chill and quiet outside of the TV playing soccer. The staff who took my order was friendly and allowed me to try sample some smoothies. I came there for the BLT wrap with avocado. My order was served within a few minutes. The staff offered jalapeños on the side as well and constantly checked in with me. I was happy with this wrap! The freshness of the veggies and the crunch from the bacon was perfect. One specific detail I'd have to mention was the cream cheese they use in the wrap. It elevated that wrap it to a new level and brought out all the flavors. I'd return again just for this item. Good customer overall with great food. Come by and try out C & R Fresh Foods! ( ^_^)b

The ambiance is chill and welcoming, as well as the friendly staff when they bring my order. I tried their pastrami tri-tip sandwich with the salad. The sandwich and the salad are elevated in both the presentation and the flavor. The sandwich has a huge size with thick layer of meat combined with coleslaw and swiss cheese that enhance the flavor while keeping its juiciness, while the salad comes out fresh with a little touch of ranch dressing. I highly recommend this place and I am willing to come back to try their other dishes. P.s. sorry no pictures because I was too hungry to eat the sandwich

Fast forward I called in today gentleman answered, put me on hold came back and was greeted with "what do you want?" "Yes can I place an order for 2 Colossal sandwich's." Before I could say what kind I wanted I was rudely interrupted "I said what do you want? What kind of sandwich!?" I repeated what I wanted He repeated "what kind of sandwiches do you want? I said can have it with Turkey Pastrami and Turkey. I was told no repeatedly on the turkey pastrami. -First the Turkey pastrami is too expensive it's an added $50 I said that's fine and he continued to persuade me to not get it -Second because now it's too much work to put on a sandwich because you know The Colossal is pretty big. (Seems like the works too much for them) So at the end of the day I went with the big corporate sandwich shop because I got my questions answered, they weren't rude, actually tried to upsell me instead of telling me no it's "too expensive" Lesson learned: teach your employees how to talk to customers. Thanks for the time and the so so service.

The manager, Matthew, delivered our food to our table, and he said that Mike made sure the focaccia bread on side for me was wrapped separate, as it was vegan, yet in kitchen with possible cross contamination. Matthew said they are very conscientious if a customer is vegan or vegetarian to be mindful of their orders. I was completely blown away! Huge shout out to Mike, and the manager Matthew for the care that is so rare! I'll definitely be back more often.

The drink is smaller, doesn't taste as good as it used to, and costs significantly more. If you're going to raise prices that dramatically, the quality should at least stay the same or improve not get worse. I used to enjoy coming here, but it's hard to justify paying nearly $10 for a drink that's smaller and lower quality than before. Very disappointing and feels like a poor way to treat loyal customers.

I stopped by Café 86 and tried a few of their signature items; the Ube Leche Flan Cupcake, the Turon Pop Tart, and the Cookie Butter Blended Latte, and wow, everything was so good! The Ube Leche Flan Cupcake was the perfect balance of flavors. The rich, creamy flan on top paired beautifully with the soft, earthy ube cupcake base. It's sweet but not overwhelming, and the textures made it really unique. The Turon Pop Tart was such a fun twist on a classic Filipino dessert.
