I used street parking, there's some free 2hr parking just gotta look. Service was quick and friendly. There are some tables and chairs, nice and quiet. Got to read a bit too. Spam musubi sandwich: nice sweetness to the bread, egg was nice and fluffy, and you get some good pieces of spam in it. A little salty because I think the sauce was oyster sauce plus the saltiness of the spam. Banana latte: I thought the cream top was delicious and creamy. I'd get this one again!
My husband has been going here after client meetings in the area and he told me about how good their coffee and sandwiches are so we came back together so I can finally try their drinks and food! He got the black sesame latte and I got the banana cream latte. We also got the kimchi sandwich. Both drinks were good! I like that they were not too sweet. The kimchi sandwich was delicious, too! It was just the right size and I love how the kimchi didn't make the sandwich too salty. My husband said that the internet here is really fast so it's good if you're looking for a spot to work or study. Everyone was really quiet so it's good if you really need to focus.
Cafe Aloe is the ultimate cafe & place to find bolo baos in Bellevue! I love the variety (flavors and shapes) in their bolo baos. Their HK sandwiches using bolo bao buns are so good when I need a savory snack! Their baos are so cute & delicious as well - I especially love the custard and taro ones! I love the different cremas on the drinks here, which makes them stand out from the local cafes. I love trying their different crema lattes. The vibes here are always bright, open & such friendly staff working!
Such a cute little cafe! I visited on a Monday afternoon and found most tables occupied, so it's clearly a popular spot. I tried the Biscoff Gingerbread Latte, which came cold, and I really enjoyed the flavor--it definitely brought some holiday vibes! I also had the Musubi HK sandwich, which was a good size for $12. They offer free Wi-Fi in the cafe. Note: Parking is on the street.
Cafe Aloe is such a sweet stop! We came for some matcha to beat the heat. Their banana matcha tea is very good-it comes with dried bananas, and it is such a pleasant flavor throughout drinking the matcha. Their kimchi sandwich is an amazing blend of sweet and spicy-the pineapple bun and the kimchi create the sweet and spicy balance I did not know I was craving until I tried it. I love their ambiance-they have such a cute cafe to relax and take pictures in, and they are convenient to get to. I can't wait to come back!
I love love Cafe Aloe since the coffee is very unique and delicious which is important for a coffee shop. Secondly, their sandwich is flavorful and delicious as well. A good amount of seating with charging ports at every seat. The WiFi is very fast compared to most other coffee shops which is great for a little bit of work. The service is friendly as well. Parking can be a little bit tough though.
Located in downtown bellevue close to the former toys r us. Street parking. Tried a couple of their adorable pastries- Nutella bear and matcha mochi turtle. The filling was delicious but wish there was a little more filling to bread ratio. Will definitely be back to try other pastries such as the green tea egg tart and the sesame latte. Great bright place to hangout with lots of tables.
While here for my first time for a Yelp Elite experience, I bought a pineapple bun to go with my mocha. I got here shortly after they opened and their sign still said closed but I tried the door and it opened! I offered to turn the sign over to "Open" and they gratefully accepted. I was the first customer of the day so the couple behind the counter were busily prepping everything while I was there so I didn't get to chat much with them. I did learn they opened in 2020 and survived the pandemic which is saying something. I enjoyed the pineapple bun as it was just right - slightly sweet and crunchy. The cafe interior is very nice with some good photo ops and a large dining room area. The place is well lit with large windows facing the streets. Overall, this is a nice place for a beverage and a quick snack.
Bright neighborhood cafe with Asian/Hong Kong inspired food and drinks. I came a little after noon on a Saturday and they were all out of HK sandwiches, which was surprising, so I ordered the cheesy egg bun instead. The bun was a typical Asian style savory and sweet bun, but the scrambled eggs were really fluffy and done well. The taro piggy bun was good but I think the cute visual is the bigger selling point here. I really loved the black sesame latte and will be coming back for more. The crema was thick and done right unlike other cafes that are just hopping on the trend. Recommend it!
Cafe Aloe shares the entrance to an apartment building, but the little tucked away cafe serves some of the prettiest pineapple buns (as well as other cute animal-shaped buns, pastries, and drinks). Pineapple buns are one of my favorites-- they have zero pineapple in them and usually have a sweet layer of cookie-like sugar crust on top with a sweet and chewy Asian bread on the bottom. Cafe Aloe's version is extra cute and petite, and the crust was scrumptious (as well as very crumbly and messy) but their bread part was more on the dry and tasteless side... like a normal dinner roll. I also tried their sandwiches which use the pineapple buns as bread slices, and they were tasty. The creamy scrambled eggs were delicious and made everything meld together really well :) They are expensive though, $5 for a pineapple bun (usually $1 at a Chinese bakery) and $13 for a sandwich the size of my small fist, but they were fun to try at least! The cafe is clean and has several booths and chairs for seating, could be good for studying, but it was pretty empty both times I visited. Service was friendly enough. Even though they had signs for black sesame pineapple buns (!!), they weren't selling them. If you're down to splurge on a tasty sandwich or try some fun looking snacks, come visit!
This place is perfect when you're craving a small, savory bite. I got the kimchi sandwich with spam, egg, and sauce. It was SO GOOD. The flavors meshed so well together. The egg was fluffy. The pineapple bun added a sweetness that blended so well with the other flavors. The Vietnamese ice coffee was a tad bit more watery than milky in my opinion. It could also use a stronger coffee kick. It wasn't too sweet though, which I prefer. Overall, I would definitely come back to try the buns next time!
We came for the piggy buns, but left being impressed with the rest of the menu! We tried the spicy charsiu and the spam musubi sandwiches, which were both good. They had so many drinks to choose from, but we ended up getting the black sesame latte and loved it. We also ordered a side of har gow dumplings, which was good but not as good as some of the popular dim sum restaurants. The piggy bun was actually my least favorite thing that we tried, not that it was bad. I didn't realize how tiny those buns are! We also ordered some steamed bbq pork buns to go, which also were very tiny compared to other places that I normally order this from. On a Tuesday morning, it was pretty slow with only a couple other patrons in the restaurant. The service wasn't bad, but wasn't friendly either. As for parking, you can circle the block to find street parking or pay to park in a nearby garage.

I have been wanting to try this place after seeing on IG. Had the molten and normal custard piggy's, the crème brûlée and regular egg tarts, coconut coffee and the spam Hong Kong sandwich. The sandwich was delicious and worth going back for sure. The molten custard was similar taste to a salty egg with a little sweetness, the custard one was really good. The egg tarts are what you would expect. Honestly the sandwich is the star for sure. Would go back and try the shu Mai and of course some more piggy's ! read more
We came here right before 2021 ended, as this cafe that's been on my must go list! Cafe Aloe has the cutest crispy Hong Kong sandwich which is a pineapple bun with egg, cheese, and spam. It was pretty tasty but a whopping $10 so not exactly worth it tbh... Their Vietnamese iced coffee was bomb, would definitely come back for this. Also get the creme brulee egg tart, the torched sugar on top combined with the egg, perfecto! The shrimp dumpling and siu mai were slightly below average, didn't taste super fresh, so don't get these. Overall good experience but wouldn't go out of my way for the food, drinks yes! read more

Randomly found this spot on a Sunday morning to try out and I was not disappointed! The vibe is a cute working cafe (they have wifi and outlets) with fusion of typical Chinese dim sum/pastries (pineapple buns, egg tarts, siu mai,etc) with breakfast sandwiches/coffees. We got the piggy custard bun per recommendation of the cashier and the crispy Hong Kong style breakfast sandwich with sausage. The piggy bun is cute but taste is alright. But why this place has 5 starts for me: This place is a bit more on the expensive side but was worth it!! You can tell they put a lot of care into the food and for the breakfast sandwich the egg was cooked perfectly with hints of green onions and the bao was soft and warm. They make these fresh on the spot so it does take about ~5-10 min for them to make. If I were to go back I'd get this sandwich again with a coffee. So 5 stars for the food, welcoming team and cute vibes! read more

Great ambiance, snacks, and drinks! What's not to love about Cafe Aloe? When you first walk in you're greeted by the cafe's namesake: a plant wall and small succulents all over. You can tell the owners wanted an ambiance that is relaxing and inviting, and it shows. With indoor and outdoor seating, Cafe Aloe was one of my favorite spots to sit and get work done before the pandemic. As you continue to the register, little piggies will call your name to the right. You'll see their snack counter with different flavor egg tarts, buns, and their adorable piggy buns. You honestly can't go wrong with any of the piggy buns flavors, but good luck trying to bite into their adorable faces! I've seen their food options continually evolve through the years, so keep an eye out for their latest food additions. Their coffee menu has lots of options ranging from espresso drinks, iced coffees, teas, and sparkling drinks. Their coffees are on the darker side, similar to what you'll find with Vietnamese coffees (which they have!). I'm lucky enough to be able to walk to Cafe Aloe, but if you're driving, there's street parking available in the immediate area. Cute, dainty HK style coffee shop that sells freshly baked pastries and made to order drinks in Bellevue DT. The interior was definitely cute, staff was friendly but seemed overwhelmed. We got the HK BUN, baked char siu bun, and a Vietnamese coffee. HK BUN 3/5 - Crumbly, super orange for some reason. A bit overpriced in my opinion. Most places in downtown area, a normal spam egg sandwich would only be around 5-6$. Factor in the pineapple bun, I don't think it's that worth Vietnamese Coffee 2/5 - Not sure what this was but definitely was not viet coffee. Too bitter , tasted like a milky black coffee with no fragrance of the viet coffee BBQ Pork Bun - 4/5 - Loved this, the top had the perfect amount of sugar coating on it. Sadly the filling was almost cold towards the middle. Not too sure if we will come back to try anything else but was nice to experiment. read more

I've been wanting to try this café for so long! The piggy buns and HK sandwich seemed very popular so I got the HK sandwich with sausage (originally meant to get ham but had a brain spasm while ordering ) and 2 piggy buns. Such a cute little spot for a latte and some delicious buns. We opted for takeout but would love to come back when it's warmer. They even have outdoor patio seating. Now, the food... crispy pork bun was a win! Something new with true Chinese flavors. The piggy buns were so cute, my kids loved them. Egg tarts were on point too. Definitely a Hong Kong style cafe food that's been missing in the area. Can't wait to try more! read more

Stopped in for the first time today and I'm glad I did! Cute cafe in downtown Bellevue. Easy to find and lots of street parking. I took my order to go but there were a couple families eating together and someone working on their laptop, so seems like a great spot to hangout or work from. I ordered an iced coconut latte (with almond milk!) and a custard piggy bun and both were delicious! read more

I am so glad I got a chance to try this cute Chinese cafe. I came here after a hike so I was very hungry and ordered the crispy hk sandwich with spam and hot Hong Kong milk tea. The food exceeded my expectations. I've always loved pineapple buns, so I was excited to see they offered it as a sandwich. I thought the hot Hong Kong milk tea was ok. My friend got it cold and she really liked hers. I definitely need to go back to try the other items on the menu. I like how this cafe takes precautions to keep people as safe as possible during covid. All the tables were socially distanced for people who are dining indoors. They even kept one of the doors open so there was circulation with outdoor air. There is plenty of street parking available right in front of the restaurant. read more

Cute coffee shop in downtown Bellevue. Lots of pastries and good coffee. I got the egg Hong Kong sandwich which was really good. Definitely different from normal egg sandwiches. The bun basically has a cookie stuck to the top which is very sweet and the eggs were really fluffy. Really enjoyed it. Not a huge menu selection or much seating, but great spot. SUCH A CUTE PLACE! I saw this place was popular all over Instagram with their extensive list of coffees and teas, as well as their piggy buns! Luckily, the store's located in a not so busy area so there was ample street parking. I went on a Saturday morning around 11am and it wasn't too busy. It was mostly just people studying and a few people chatting at the tables. It's a pretty spacious store with at least eight tables so we were easily able to get a seat. They had a special coconut matcha latte so I tried that! The matcha foam/cream on the top was so fluffy and tasty. Although I like the different flavors that went into the drink, I kind of want to try just their regular iced matcha latte next time. We also ordered the piggy bun filled with molten custard, green onion bun, and matcha egg tart. The green onion bun was my absolute favorite! It was the perfect sweet bun and savory onion flavor, and the texture was so soft. I'd definitely order that again! The piggy bun was just really cute so I'm happy I got it. And the matcha egg tart wasn't anything too exciting, it was a good balance of sweetness with the matcha flavor. Although I enjoyed my food and drink, I'm not sure the price of the food was entirely the best value. I'd come again to grab a drink if I'm in the area again! read more

Delicious har gow and shu mai. Largest and juiciest shu mai in town. We also got egg tarts but I would not come back for this - the crust was too flakey for my liking and the custard could use more eggs. We got takeout and ate in our car. It would've been nice if they supplied us with napkins and utensils for takeout. Watch out for the parking enforcement officers. They're like hawks there, one knew to go straight to our car. Good thing we spotted him and got to our car in time. Great customer service and clean space! read more
Food- family previously owned a dim sum restaurant. Has variety of egg tarts to try: regular, Portuguese, green tea, creme brûlée. The tarts were okay, nothing amazing. I personally don't love the pie crust like crust. I prefer flakey ones or have some additional mix of nuts. Cute buns- cute, and My favorite is the molten one. Downside, buns are small and kind of dry. Drinks- sorry didn't get any, cannot comment. Service- friendly. Ambiance- cute, simple, spacious. Appropriate cafe space to hang out and do some work, study. Location- on bottom of apartment complex, tucked away edge of downtown. Value- kind of expensive for quality. My friend took me here and everything we got was really good. We got the Hong Kong sandwich with spam, black sesame latte, BBQ Pork Bun, Egg Tart, and 2 Piggy Buns - 1 with taro, 1 with custard. The order came out in 10 minutes and everything was there. It was delicious and filling, we had to take home some food. The place itself had 3-4 indoor tables and 2 outdoor tables, it was minimally decorated but was cute and clean. read more
I had came to pick up my pre-ordered Deluxe Pineapple Bun Box when Cafe Aloe did a pop-up with La Dulce Seattle. The kitchen had miscounted so I didn't get the Chinese BBQ one, but the staff was extremely nice and apologetic. They let me pick any of their sandwich or bun, and then later offered an egg tart as well while preparing the box. ----- Deluxe Pineapple Bun Box: custard, matcha custard, butter & red bean, and Chinese BBQ pineapple bun ($18). Their regular pineapple bun is $3.50 apiece, so the set was a good deal as they had different fillings. My favorite was the red bean which was tasty with the butter. The buns were soft although the bread was on the dry side. The top was slightly sweet and flaky. ----- Crispy BBQ Pork Bun: crispy top, homemade BBQ pork filling ($3.50). The bread was a bit sweet like the other buns but the filling was also interestingly sweet rather than savory. ----- Crème Brûlée Egg Tart: egg custard filling, hand-bruleed ($2.50). I really liked the egg tart. It was creamy and served warm with a crackling top. ----- An open terrace is connected with three small outdoor tables. Inside has a lot of bugs flying around, but weren't houseflies. There's even a plant board with their business name for social media shots. Guest Wi-Fi is available. read more
Was recommended from a friend as I saw the piggy buns were cute asf. They having couple parking spots in the not so crowded area of Bellevue. I got there right when they opened. Ordered the taro and custard buns, shu mai, and the creme brûlée egg tart. They have nice decor and a good vibe as well. I was told it would take about 20 minutes to prepare, okay no problem. I ended up waiting a little bit over 30.. Buns were just as advertised. They had the ears and pig noses. They were on the chewy side which I did like. Egg tart was slightly sweeter than the normal one. And shu Mai was good too. Little pricey for what they are but worth it to impress your girl right?! read more

Love the interior design, a great place to study with free wifi, drinks, and cafe food. You'd have to come early to snatch a table since there are only 5 to sit at. Unfortunately, there's only street parking but it's usually not busy on that street. Lava custard piggy bao was delicious, the salted egg flavor with a fluffy bun is always a must. I've been following Cafe Aloe on IG for the longest time and finally decide to come here while I was in Bellevue. I came here for breakfast one day and am amazed at how cute and aesthetic pleasing their products were. I wanted to try one of their fall drinks, so I got the roasted sesame latte. I also ordered a spam and egg pineapple bun and a piggy bun filled with custard. I really like the roasted sesame flavor in my coffee drink. It is definitely a nice morning pick me up. The sandwich was made fresh and it really brings me back to my childhood when eating this for breakfast. The pineapple bun was nice and soft with a crumbly outer shell sandwiched both some spam and eggs. Definitely a must try! The cute piggy bun tasted good as well. Wish they had the molten version when I went. Overall, this place is solid! Always nice to have a cafe that served Hong Kong style foods. A first time customer going to this place. Wanted to check out what the hype was regarding the piggy buns and pineapple bun sandwiches. Placed a take-out order for a couple of Sandwiches along with some Taro, and Custard piggy Buns. Also got Egg and Sausage sandwiches. Waited a while to get our big order, which was fine. Liked the inside decor. Very warm and modern feeling! When we got home with the food, tasted each of the different food items. Really liked the Pineapple Buns and the Sandwiches!!! read more
I like this place. Most Dim Dum I have received via Doordash is old and cold. Cafe Aloe is consistent when I receive Dim Sum I want it to be hot. The food is good. I wish they had more variety of Dim Sum but the Shu Mai and Steamed Shrimp are excellent. I have tried a few others the BBQ bun is good and this time I tried the porky molten and it was good more of a sweeter egg custard. Love the style and size and quantity and the prices. This is all reasonable. I've seen some $6 dim sum lately which is ridiculous. This place has all the things I like. read more

Beautiful pastries and a wonderful combination of flavors. I came here with my family and basically ordered everything! Staff were extremely polite and the food was amazing. There was a bit of a wait, but that was because of the quantity of food we ordered and because they make everything fresh! read more
My favorite thing in this place is their piggy buns. That being said everything else kind of falls short for me. The drinks aren't necessarily the best and there were a good amount of flies flying around due to doors being open. The first time here I tried their drinks and all that but I've only returned for the buns. read more

Near the Bellevue offices, Cafe Aloe is a cute stopping point, albeit hard to track down from Google Maps (I recall wandering around the perimeter of the building before finally finding it). I was really excited to try this place out based on its social media presence! i go the egg Hong Kong Sandwich and Piggy Bun. Egg Hong Kong Sandwich: (6/10) This sandwich is just stunning. I'm a big fan of bolo bao, and love eggs. The actual taste fell flat of my expectations--individually each component was great, but nothing really tied every layer together. I think it was missing a salty component that the spam or sausage option would have provided, or maybe a sauce. It was also pretty expensive for the size. Piggy Bun: (7/10) I loved ripping open the Piggy Bun and watching the custard ooze out. The custard itself was interesting--I've had better custard before. Unfortunately I set my expectations too high for Cafe Aloe, especially since I kept gushing to my friends about it. It's worth checking out if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way. read more
The mint coffee is super good. The muddled mint really brought out the flavor and I wish there had been more coffee/liquid in my cup so I could savor the taste. I'd give them 3.5 because service was fine and the drink was good, not sure if I would necessarily go out of my way to come again. read more

I was super excited to try this place out, but it was just alright. I tried the mint mojito coffee... meh, it was alright. Just like a mojito, you will sip up mint leaves I got a creme brûlée tart, a crispy pork bun (per recommendation), and got two custard piggy buns. It seemed to take a long time! My whole order was sitting on the counter awaiting for the piggy buns. I was excited to try the piggy buns since it was the reason for the trek out there from auburn, so I got into the car to bite into it; it seemed hard like they are not freshly made. read more
