Ate at the Assissi tonight and once again the meal was great. I had penne with sausage and broccoli rabe. My disappoint era was one I have had before. I often eat at the bar either with my husband or solo, but for the 2nd time was told that certain bar seats were reserved. It seems most places honor the first come first served rule. But apparently they do not . They also seemed to be in a hurry to turn over the seat, having my meal arrive right after my dinner drink. I was never told of specials. read more

I beautiful gem found after a long day of shopping at the Outlet Mall. The staff was honest in letting us know they are booked solid but if we are willing to wait about 20 minutes, they'll try to get us a table if there is a cancellation. As it turned out there must have been a cancellation because in about 20 minutes and after several staff checking in with us, we were able to get a table. Let's just say the dining experience was excellent. The seafood special dish was cooked to perfection. The sauce was fresh and seasoned exquisitely. Shout out to the honest hostess, the manager that got us a drink while we waited, Taylor for offering that drink to us. Our server was also very good. Stopped in after shopping at the outlet stores. Asked Siri for places to eat and Cafe Assisi was one of the selections. Walked in not expecting a long wait, we were informed by the hostess that the restaurant is booked hours in advance. We opted to eat at the bar, the manager and a cutie (Taylor) made our wait comforting. The aroma of the food was tantelizing! We were finally seated and ate a seafood dish called the Diablo. This place is really solid. It's funny that a lot of people say the owner was a protege of Luciano's. that is not true at all. He was not taught anything from Luciano, especially did not share any recipes. Regardless, this place is great and has very good good and pizza. I recommend checking it out. I have never been disappointed in the meals (love the veal parm) everyone who has ever come here with me always experiences great dining. The owner is super nice and you usually see him greeting ppl. Cafe Assisi has a great selection of Italian food and everything from the bread to the meal tastes absolutely rich and delicious. If you do not get there in time though, the wait can last a while. Try and get there early or even head over there for lunch and you will, hopefully, not be disappointed. This place is very small and they have lots of options, beyond sitting down and having gigantic bowls of pasta. Yes, the servings are huge and great to take home and the pizza is very good. This was our first visit tonight recommended by friends. What a great place! The food was wonderful, the attention from the wait staff was great (especially from our waitress Alba). She was excellent. I fell in love with their House dressing and I bought some to take home. Umm..delicious! The only small drawback is the place is small, and can be very noisy because of the small area of dining room, but I can deal with that, it's that worth it. Everything else is the best! I watched a "Phantom Gourmet " review on Cafe Assisi, and thought,why not try it tonight. I was amazed that the place was sooo small. we were told a 40 minute wait, unless we sat outside. We decided to visit based on other Yelp reviews also, and so glad we did. It was amazing. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to accommodate our party of 11the on a Monday just a little before noon. The homemade vinaigrette was delicious, the calzone will definitely feed two or satisfy one monstrous appetite, and the eggplant Parmesan reminds me of my grandmother's. After shopping at Wrentham Outlets, we were looking for a nice place for lunch. We looked for some good restaurants in the area and came across this place because of the excellent reviews. The restaurant is small but very cozy. First off, we got freshly baked bread. The dipping oil was great and had just the right spices. Our meal consisted of two calzones and an individual pizza which were great for an afternoon lunch. The tomato sauce is obviously homemade - not too salty or chunky either. There is a ton of Italian dishes to choose from for lunch or dinner. The service was great, everyone was very friendly. We noticed they do extremely well with take-out, too. I've been here 3 times and haven't been disappointed! One time, I had the special which included calamari, shrimp, scallops over a bed of linguine. Everything arrived piping hot! 2nd visit here; 1st one was great. 15 minute wait on a Saturday afternoon; fine. Got offered two quick seats at the bar instead of waiting; fine. Order food and a non-alcoholic drink. Bartender proceeded to watch me use one plate for dipping bread and eating my entree. My 15 minute staring session at after dropping off my entree was apparently not hinting enough. She didnt refill, nor offer me a drink refill once. Never offered water. Talked to the couple sitting next to me for 15 minutes about her favorite Tequila, her trip to Mexico, and vacationing after I was clearly done with my meal. Pretty sure the bartender was irked by the fact that the manager told her that he had friends coming in to eat at the bar (must be poor tippers) + I wasn't drinking. Great place; terrible server.
