I have to say this was one of the more pleasant places I have had pho. The exterior is very misleading, as inside it is very nice with solid atmosphere. The wait staff were nice and attentive. I love the food here, it's quiet and very laid back. I will say the service is VERY a slow and you will be waiting a while for your food, so please be patient and kind with everyone. The menu is often limited or out, but the pho, bun bo hue, bun rieu, lemonade, com tam, banh canh are my favorites. Can't believe this place doesn't have spring rolls but they do have garden rolls for appetizers. The family came in for lunch. We ordered pho dac biet, bun bo hue, com tam bi dac biet and com thit bi. The family said it's better than most and it was delish. The tea that they served was pretty tasty, bro asked what was in it and the worker said it was a mixer of different types of tea, I definitely tasted Thai tea. We've been in the Tampa area five times in the last two months, and have tried several Vietnamese restaurants each time, for total of eight different places. We always order some type of noodle soup. If I'm grading on food alone, Cafe Bích Nga has been the best so far. Their soup broth has good flavor and most importantly the soup has depth (which means they use more bones for base soup than other additives). Their soups are oilier than most, which also suggests that they use more bones. Different herbs/greens are paired with different soups. Bích Nga has been the only restaurant in the local area that gave shredded cabbage for the Bun Bo Hue. They didn't give shredded banana leaf, but did offer shredded water spinach instead. Most other places just give you bean sprouts and basil and call it a day. Everything was actually very good, but each bowl is a whopping $16!! (I know it's post-Covid but still) That is pretty pricey considering it's a no frills restaurant in a no frills neighborhood. read more

Our lunch here was not a good experience. When we sat down to order I immediately let the waiter know I was going to use a YELP check-in code special for 25% off the bill. He said ok. Then we asked if the chicken was chicken breast white meat that came with rice. He said it was chicken breast. So we both ordered it, since all we ever eat is white meat chicken. The food arrived & the chicken was dark meat, full of cartilage, bone pieces, skin, & fat. This really annoyed us, but we ate around it. Then we went to pay the bill with the YELP check-in offer. The cashier said she wouldn't take it. So we said the waiter was shown it before we even ordered & said it was fine. The cashier wanted to argue with us, which was very uncomfortable & unprofessional. I just let her rant. My experience was tainted by incredibly slow service. And I pinky promise I'm not being dramatic. And sooooo I would highly suggest ordering ahead for takeout. It was a quiet Thursday night. 3 of us sat at 6:40pm, we our server finally out order after 20 minutes. And then nearly an hour later 2 of us got our soup, while our 3rd friend still had to wait to get theirs. We also didn't get any of the toppings we asked for (lime, sprouts, jalapeño). The service aside, my soup was very mild in flavor and none of the chicken was edible as it was alllllllll gristle and fat. I ate the noodles and used the rest as a broth to cook other meat in for dinner the next night. And used the chicken as grease to fry gnocchi. So at least I got use out of the meal. read more

This place used to be better before they moved. The food is still decent, but the service is the worst. Some coworkers and I stopped in for lunch recently and we no joke waited 20 minutes and tried to flag an employee down to place our order. We weren't even served water or drinks during that time. Staffs were nice, but one thing that's stuck me was that when the waiter who brought food to our table and he did not remember who ordered what, so he asked us to past out the dish to whomever placed the order. We went on a Monday afternoon and made reservations for 7 people (was told in the past that there was an hour and a half wait), it was still relatively busy on a weekday. We did order ahead of time and got our food quickly. Although we ordered our food ahead of time, it was still hot when we devoured our food. The vibe is very family orientated. I got the duck congee and I want to say it was one of the best congee I have ever had! Also the bowel is HUGE, come hungry or be ready for a lot of leftovers! Go ahead and put a crown on this Bich Nga. This place is the Pho King greatest. Bun Bo Hue seems to be the house specialty. They also serve up a corn gruel soup with pig parts that looked good. And they have several banh mi types, fresh rolls and Vietnamese coffees. Honestly the straight up water they serve with lime is good. I wanted to try their shakes (durian, jackfruit, or soursop) but the lady who makes them goes home at 2.. Very friendly service. I did have a mosquito bugging me. But this is definitely the real deal. If you want a more fusion gringo version go with Green Mint. I didn't know that, so you know, and don't get freaked out like I did. I learned something new thanks to almighty Asian Melinda M. Vietnamese Dancing Queen! I had a beef soup with noodles, not pho, I forget the number. It was good at the time. The bowls are super huge. It was filled with some veggies, I wish it had bok choy, but it didn't. It is not good as a left over either. It gets all starchy. The beef, I know it prob gives the broth flavor, but it was super fatty. Not my thing. I hate to give this only 1 star. The food was fantastic! But sadly, I will not return. Someone forgot to tell this business we're in the middle of a pandemic and that Pinellas county has ordered the use of masks inside. While here today, all 4 of the employees we saw walking around failed to wear a mask over their mouth. All guests that arrived failed to wear masks and during our lunch a table of kids were running around the restaurant barefoot and maskless licking their fingers in and out of the prep area behind the counter for employees. I know it's hard to follow all these new rules 100% of the time, but this business certainly seems to be giving the middle finger to it all. And you have to wonder if they are disregarding these safety precautions, what's being disregarded in the kitchen where we can't see it. LOVE this place! I come here a couple times a week at least for their Beef Stew Pho with Clear Noodle (#50). Called around 7:20PM on Saturday 10/22/2022 trying to place an order Togo. A Vietnamese gentleman answered that barely spoke English. I speak a little Vietnamese and was trying to communicate with him and I named the platter in Vietnamese. I was asking questions about the dish they served and wanted to make sure there was no shredded pork skin. I got that across and I was asking in English how much the dish was and he would answer 15 minutes. I would then say no and asked him again how much the order was. Basically we went back and forth 3 times then he finally just hung up the phone. He literally got fed up with a potential customer trying to order food and hung up on me. If you don't speak English or have a hard time understanding, get a team member that could help. DONT HANG UP THE PHONE JUST BECAUSE THINGS GOT HARD FOR YOU AND YOU DONT UNDERSTAND ENGLISH. One of the best Vietnamese restaurant in town! Food is tasty and authentic. My favorites are bun bo hue, bun rieu, bun mam, bun mang vit. Let's just say I like a lot of their dishes. They are now located at new location, 5572 Park Blvd. Purple building, before the railroad track. Parking lot is still limited and located in the back. Inside is a lot more spacious.
