NOW GET COZY AND READ ON IF YOU HAVE THE TIME: The owner and her staff are so kind warm and welcoming! I've been coming here for what feels like a year? You walk in and feel instantly relaxed from the decor. Think ; vacation spot , "White Lotus" season 1 and 2 vibes. TIMING: The morning time is really popular from what I hear and there is sometimes a line. However go between 11-2:30 (closing time) and very calm 90% of the time. If/When there is a line people are so nice! No joke! Maybe because it's not a place you rush things. Everything is made fresh so some dishes take a bit of time. So I suggest going when you are not in a hurry. Or order to go. AMBIANCE: If you are a music lover, and enjoy international grooves, a French radio station or playlist is always on. Plus it's different styles of French music! There was rap, hip-hop, jazz, alternative. So while in line you'll probably find yourself tapping your feet. I really like the booths for the privacy. When it's busy those go QUICK. The basket chairs look glorious but I haven't tried them yet. Not sure if they are still up. But one day I'll nest in there...one day. NOW THE FOOD! The menu changes every so often which is exciting ! If you are minding your dollars and cents it's a bit pricey. HOWEVER, the food is great quality and from the dishes I've ordered the portions are a good size #WorthIt. I like their coffee and that they have milk alternatives. And I appreciate the menu is not overwhelming. If there are condiments they don't carry (due to the authenticity of the restaurant) they always recommend something comparable as a substitute. RECOMMENDATIONS: I dislike eating breakfast when it's not time for it. But when I come here? It's on! The goat cheese omelette is fluffy and delicious!! I add chicken to it que magnifique! (Hope that's right as I'm not using Ai in this moment . Apologies if it's wrong corrections welcome #respect) They had a juicy burger and it was so good they run out of it pretty often. The lox bagel has a decent amount of lox! The home fries aren't greasy (great with avocado for some reason) Bannana Bread is so tastes and moist! It feels more like a cake. I'd buy the whole basket but that would be unfair to "the OTHERS..." Just kidding lol. The lemon squares are about to be my new addiction too. But they keep it real sometimes popular dishes run out. And that's ok, it's a boutique spot. It's also a mini-rush when you order a dish that's finally available lol. ADVICE: PURPOSE: I'd come here for a smoothy after a workout. Breakfast with peers or a more relaxed business mtg. if you're in an ASL (Or any group/team) club like I was this is a great place to meet. The light is fantastic! They have their own wiFii. CLEANLINESS/KIDS? Their bathroom is clean. Place is spotless. You might see a table with dishes to be cleared but it's never overwhelming or a bunch of tables in that state so, chill! I'm not sure I've seen a lot of families with kids in there. And I'm not sure if I saw a changing table. I have a 4 year old so I look at things like that but I know they'd be very accommodating. DRAWBACKS?: I've only seen one outlet over a booth in the middle? So make sure you are charged up or have a looong chord. They also close pretty early when I'm there at 2:30pm. CREATIVE PLANS FROM STAFF: However, one of the baristas shared with me they used to be open longer. But due to Covid it's been slow. So they adjusted the hours. They have lots of ideas if things pick up. And I think in the past they did wine tasting with selections directly from France! I think they could have a fabulous open mic poetry night. Maybe even a small live band every so often. Game night classy style? hehe. If they allowed the tables to be moved I'd do an art premiere there! No joke #Ideas. YOU, yes you: Step one? We came here on the way home after our cruise and we're tired of cruise food and found this little gem. This space was so beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. It's chic with pops of color to provide warmth. I also love the music playing in background it aligns with the ambiance. We were very warmly greeted upon entering and she made subtle suggestions. Went to catch a bite to eat and was a bit disappointed. The egg and ham and cheese crêpe was sparse. Thin slice of ham and not much cheese. I also asked for Just a cup of hot water and was charged as if I had purchased a hot tea. It would have been nice to have been informed that I would be charged $4 for hot water and a slice of lemon. If you want fresh out of the oven bake goods like their croissants, get there right at 7:30am. It's perfectly done at that time. I got their honey lavender latte, perfect with my hazelnut croissant. *Delayed post from Dec '24. Lots of pastries to pick from at the front and our food was delivered pretty quickly. While their menu isn't super big, it doesn't need to be to deliver high quality food. The croissant sandwich here is absolutely delicious! The eggs were fluffy and well seasoned with a slightly sweet and smoky ham. The croissant itself was flaky buttery and had a brushing of sweetness over the top that complemented the savory sandwich well. The avocado gave it the creamy texture it needed to fully come together. I appreciated the salad on the side to add some more freshness to the plate as well, otherwise it could have been rather heavy. The dressing on it wasn't overly oily either. The environment is very chill with lowkey music and plants everywhere you look, even if most are fake. The Macabre and natural wood tables and booths add to the tranquil vibe. There are also gorgeous tiles at the bar that give it a European feel and a green wall at the back to tie in that nature feel again. read more

This past Monday, we landed at LAX around 9:30 am and my hubs Yelped for a breakfast place in the surrounding area and found Cafe Boheme. We were so happy to have found this cafe. Great menu, great food and friendly atmosphere all around. The guy seated next to us lives just up the street and was telling us the owner used to have a flower shop at this location. Moved the flower shop and opened this cafe. He's here on a regular basis and highly recommends this cafe. We shared the Le Brie - omelet with cherry tomatoes and brie which was heavenly and a side of the perfectly lightly fried potatoes. We also had a hazelnut croissant which was truly authentic, flaky Parisienne croissant. Can't wait to go back there next time we're in the area again. read more

Super super cute spot. Order at the counter and grab a number. Me and my sister split the breakfast sandwich $17 which comes on a croissant. Delicious! Although the salad was insanely small, only critique is they should add more for a $17 plate it was the size of a small fist. Anyways, great spot would definitely be back. If I could give zero stars I would. The low rating has nothing to do with the quality of the food or drink as I didnt get the opportunity. A unique customer service fail I have never experienced before. I came in to get an omelet to go at around 8:45 am. There were no customers except a man waiting for his coffee. The girl at the bar made his coffee and asked me what I want. I order an omelet to go. She took the order and charged me $19. I sat down and waited. As I waited a few more people came in to order. I waited 5 minutes and expected that my omelet would be out soon. There was a window to the kitchen and I saw no one nor heard anybody. After 10 minutes the girl was till taking the order of a family of 4. After 15 minutes I still heard nothing from the kitchen or saw anybody there beside the girl taking orders and making coffees. After 20 minutes I though something is wrong and asked the girl if anybody was in the kitchen preparing the food. She said "well I texted him". There had been no one in the kitchen the past 20 minutes. First of all who takes an order when there is no kitchen personnel? Second the girl must have known that waiting 20 minutes for an omelet when there were no orders in front of me was ridiculous. She then told me she could try to get a hold of the chef I suppose at which I said I dont have time just give my my money back. How stupid is that. read more

Love having Cafe Boheme in our neighborhood! A bright cafe serving French food - crepes in the morning, tartines, pastries and coffee as well as dinner options (I haven't tried those yet!). Ordered their croque madame in the morning and really enjoyed it. Would like to try more! It's a really beautiful cafe with ample seating in the morning and relaxing. Just left this place 1/14/26 around 12:30pm. I really wanted to like this place since I'm a local at Playa del Rey. I just had the worst matcha latte ever, hardly any matcha or any foam, this drink is basically warmed milk. I asked the attendant to put some more matcha on it and she did but was still so bad for $8 plus drink! Ugh! Also I got a plain croissant that I had to eat cold because they said it can't be warmed?? Also I heard another costumer complain that his drink didn't taste like much since everything was in the bottom. This place has so much potential but this is my 3rd time giving it a chance, sadly most likely I won't be back. read more

On my latest visit, I came here for breakfast and some coffee. I got the hazelnut mocha and the croque monsieur with egg (or the croque madame effectively). I really felt the 'joie de vivre' in the vibe on this last trip. The person I ordered from I believe was French (maybe the owner?) but she was really sweet and helpful. You can tell the folks here love and believe in what they're serving. The croque madame was really well done and came with a side salad what was dressed in a light vinaigrette. The sandwich had some nice crispy ham and nice layer of cream(?) between the ham and the bread. The egg gave it some extra hardiness. I'm a fan and I'm looking forward to the next visit. read more

I tried this place when it first opened three or four years ago and was totally turned off by the small portions of food you get and the "no free refills" policy for iced tea. 99% of restaurants offer free refills for iced tea -- it costs 50 cents to make! Don't they want to attract business?! Don't they want to make customers happy?! I tried going there again today hoping things might have changed. This is a cute french style cafe/restaurant in Playa Del Rey. You can't go wrong with any of the food or drinks here. I've enjoyed everything I've ordered. The quality of the food and the flavors are great! The interior is cute, yet fresh and modern. Also, I never see this place packed, but that may be because of the parking situation. The parking lot is hiding in the corner of an intersection and it is hard to get in and out of. There are barely any parking spots in the lot which is shared with other businesses. I'd say that parking is the biggest con for this place, but the experience still makes it worth it. No complaints about the service. The staff members are courteous and helpful. The wait times for food can take a while though, depending on the order. read more

They have a very cute vibe typical of what you'd expect from a relaxed beach city cafe - hula skirt straw umbrellas out front, colorful tile at the bar, macrame and wooden light fixtures, tiled ceilings, and lots of natural light. They have both trendy indoor and outdoor seating, and my favorite part was the swinging chair in the back. They also have a small parking lot out front if you aren't able to find parking in the neighborhood. They use Jetty coffee roasters based in Los Angeles, and my oat milk latte was very smooth. Service was excellent and they took care of our needs perfectly. Parking can be an issue but we lucked out. I think that there is more parking close by but I did not look. Café Bohème? More like Café Bullsh*t. If you enjoy being talked down to by arrogant wannabe Parisians while chewing on overcooked mediocre food disguised as "French cuisine," this is your place. What came out looked like it was scraped off the floor of a truck stop and reheated in a microwave powered by broken dreams. The eggs were dry, sad, and borderline offensive--like they were being punished for something. We politely tried to return the food--key word: tried. The waitress (who I'm convinced moonlights at a DMV) refused and called out the chef, who had the audacity to come argue with us like some kind of culinary warlord. He actually stood there, arms crossed, and told us our eggs weren't overcooked--as if we didn't have taste buds. Newsflash: You're not in Montmartre. You're slinging fake French food in a café that smells like fryer oil and shattered promises. I wouldn't trust these guys to make instant ramen, let alone anything that requires actual skill. Pretty sure he spends his off-hours deep-frying curly fries at Arby's and studying the art of gaslighting Yelp reviewers. Oh, and if you're wondering--yes, they absolutely cook with the cheapest, gut-wrecking seed oils. Your arteries will file for divorce before you get the check. A friend and I went for lunch on a weekday. Ambience was great - beautiful bohemian decor and nice light music. There are multiple seating options - counter, booth, individual tables, indoor and outdoor and free parking lot. The staff was friendly. The food was ok. It was honestly average. I got the crepito with mushrooms and got soggy very quickly so it was a little messy to eat. The side salad was cute and kids meal size, so wish there was a little more portion wise offered. The place is not super noticeable from the outside but is very cute inside. I went in for lunch today and got a galette and a French onion soup. The food was very bland, even French onion soup had some very weird consistency. The bread was melted and mushed as if it had been sitting there forever. I would say it was the worse French onion soup I tried (I have been to France many times, including different regions and I know what I am talking about). Also both soup and galette came out at the same time. By the time I finished my soup, the galette was too cold. I noticed they are now open for dinner but it is a place with self check-out where you order at the counter and then grab any seat you want. Not sure if the same goes towards dinner service but I would prefer not to pay at the counter. I was really hoping this place would be amazing since we don't have a lot of good places in the area where you can walk to. read more

I've visited several times since last year, and this place has truly become one of my favorites. The food is always delicious, and I love how many coffee options they have! I usually come on weekends, and the cashier who greets me early in the morning is consistently so kind and welcoming. Everything from the pastries to the eggs, fruit, and potatoes is made with really fresh ingredients. I also really appreciate how the chefs are careful and attentive whenever I mention my allergies. Literally you need to order salt and pepper just to add a little flavor... when I was ordering... Ironically, I heard one person ask for a side of mayo and another person asked for some more dressing. It's because there's a lack of taste. I've been here a couple of times recently and two things really stand out: the remarkably friendly service and the cozy, stylish decor. This place kinda catches you by surprise, something you think you'd see in a trendy marketplace area like Americana in Glendale, but instead is nestled on a busy street strip mall. It is bright, spacious, clean, and welcoming. Each time I've visited the service has been fantastic. Very very friendly, helpful and accommodating. A cute spot on a busy street, it's a shame that it's a bit hard to get to. The pastries were alright, a lot of prepackaged goods, but I ordered the wrong drink. It was too heavy on the syrup, making the sweetness overpowering and the matcha hidden. Pretty decor, and I wish it wasn't so overcast because I heard the planes through the clouds and would've liked to see them. It'd be a lovely place to have a drink and watch the planes! read more
