From a different visit and I'm cracking up at myself that I wore the same shirt love this place

Absolutely adore this place. One of our favorite stops in Santa Fe. Always good food great quality. Staff is always warm friendly and consistent. Love the ambience such a sweet vibe! Great food!

BLUE CORN ENCHILADA CASSEROLE with chicken and Red/Green Chile

I really wanted to like this place, but alas, the food was so-so/average, and the service was less than stellar. I dined with my wife and 10 others at a large table during the Santa Fe Foodies meet-up. I tried the BLUE CORN ENCHILADA CASSEROLE with chicken and Red/Green Chile (Christmas). Added an egg. The green chile was somewhat flavorless, while the red was better, with nice heat, but far from the best in town (IMHO, thus far, Café Castros). The chicken was nice, as was the garnish of lettuce, tomato, onion, cilantro, and sour cream. But for $22, I was underwhelmed. My wife and four others had the special, which was Eggplant Parmesan. It was okay, but again, nothing special, and the 'garlic' bread lacked both garlic and flavor. This dish came with a salad; the server never asked what anyone wanted for a dressing, instead providing different salad dressings to other people. The service was subpar; the servers didn't know who ordered what, even though all the food arrived at the same time, which can be challenging for a table this big. We were presented with our checks without being offered dessert. No one recalled being asked if we were pleased with the food. The restaurant is rather loud, and the wooden chairs lacking cushions are rather uncomfortable. The food and service weren't bad, but it wasn't such that I'd be inclined to return, considering there are so many other, better options in this foodie town. It is nice that the restaurant has ample parking in this part of town. All in all, underwhelming, average, three stars.

nothing about this place is bad but nothing about it is great either. Just OK, maybe we just ordered the wrong thing, but I was unimpressed with the selection on the menu. Most likely will not return.

Green chile burger

Had lunch here on Saturday with a group of six. Sat on patio in lovely shade with lots of native greenery/trees around us. Food was delicious and service was very attentive! I had the burrito with carne adovada and Christmas sauce; I couldn't decide which sauce was better bc both were excellent. Friends had the burger, margarita chicken bowl, and fish tacos. We also shared the watermelon and poached pear salads, which were the hit of the meal! We plan to try to replicate both at home.

Texas Buffalo Burger

Delicious burger even though I was tempted by the ceviche flight. Easy to get a table and lovely al fresco dining! I have had several wonderful lunches here. I didn't know they were open for dinner until today. Owned by super nice people and they have great staff.!

Green chili Alfredo pasta with chicken

DELICIOUS!!!! Cafe Catron is now open for dinner on Thursday-Saturday. All of our dishes were incredible and we ate every bit. Great wine selection too. Atmosphere is nice and staff is attentive. A definite should do

Came here for lunch while on vacation and it was great! The place is cute with nice decor, friendly and efficient service, and my dish was amazing! I decided to try something new and had the Caldo de Puerco and it was delicious!

Located in a quieter part in the edge of downtown, parking is usually pretty easy to find on-Street, and it's a few steps over to shops. The outdoor patio is secluded and quiet, and the indoors offers plenty of seating in a historic setting that's bright and fresh. On the food side, Palacio cooks their red Chile for over 8 hours, making it in my opinion one of the best and most flavorful in Santa Fe. Most other places I get Christmas style, but here, the red Chile is just perfect. On this trip, we had a smothered breakfast burrito and enchiladas suizas. Both were perfectly cooked, served hot, and resulted in another visit of what we expected from Palacio - great food and friendly service in what had quickly become our favorite Santa Fe restaurant.

My dining companion went a more healthy route with granola and yogurt and said everything was very tasty

Next, we split the cassoulet - a duck confit leg quarter, Toulouse sausage, pork belly, and carrots nestled into a bed of white beans and herbs with a side of sourdough and French butter. Oh my word, it was fabulous! And I didn't have to share the sourdough, mwaaaahahahaha!

The place is popular, especially given very high quality of pastry products and the line is often a bit long (given so many locals/tourists stop by this place)...and simply..the place is one of the best pastry shops in Santa Fe. Parking is a little limited in their own parking lot and the shop is sort of crowded, but you can always park on a street outside (albeit some small parking fees). Overall, I really enjoyed the pastries here...although I think the drink (I got matcha latte...true, true, matcha latte isn't much of a western drink..so maybe I'm wrong to judge a restaurant by this drink) wasn't so much of my highlights. I would, definitely recommend this place for pastries for sure though!

The café has a cool, modern vibe with plenty of indoor seating as well as a nice outdoor patio. They were very busy on a Saturday morning. The counter staff was very matter-of-fact. Not rude, but not especially warm or welcoming either. Honestly, I got the impression she was just under a lot of stress. We also asked another staff member if we could use one of the patio umbrellas (they were all closed for some reason), and he was prompt and friendly, which we appreciated. We ordered a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese, a meat-filled empanada, a honey latte, and a cold brew. The cold brew was a little too dark for my taste, though coffee preferences are definitely subjective. Interestingly, there's a place in Albuquerque that has an almost identical flavor profile. The toasted everything bagel was very good, but it didn't come with quite enough cream cheese. The single cream cheese packet also felt a bit lackluster presentation-wise. That said, when we asked for more, the response was friendly and accommodating. The honey latte had beautiful latte art and great flavor, definitely a highlight. The empanada, filled with ground beef, green chile, and piñon, was a bit over-toasted, but the filling itself was flavorful, even if somewhat sparse. Overall, I think 35 North has a lot going for it and could easily elevate the experience with a few small improvements to consistency and customer service.

Now, the tamale oh my goodness I've never had such a moist tamale maybe the best tamale I've ever had. The pupusa was delicious and they didn't skimp on the cabbage salad. Not a place we'd refuse to visit again, but definitely not one we're eager to return to either.

I was expecting a savory dish, but it had a weird sweetness to it; maybe the tarragon? Maybe it's just me. The fish came out as a "fish" it mostly unprocessed, bones and all, maybe it still had its eyes. It was stuffed with a filling but the taste was not agreeable to me. It wasn't awful, just not good. I didn't finish it. Service: painfully slow. We sat at a table in the middle of the indoors room, but s-l-o-w. Mate kit: c'mon on now! For an Argentine restaurant you can do much better. First time they brought me the mate kit, but the bombilla (straw) had no filter. That means you drink the mate and you end up with leaves in your mouth and teeth. Not a good feeling. I asked for an additional bombilla, the server brought a very short bombilla. Hard to use. I have never seen or used such a short bombilla. I gave up. Nice ambience. Feels like an urban garden-café. Will not go back unless another friend wants to go there. Disappointed.
