Vibrant coffee shop with really good food. It was quiet until around 9am when it really picked up. There were some people getting work done, but there were also people chatting over brunch and a couple guys playing a board game. The coffee is great and the crostata I got was really sweet so it went perfectly with the coffee. The big upside is that the smaller tables have cushioned chairs which I've noticed is surprising hard to find in coffee shops. After sitting there for 4ish hours working, my butt really appreciated that cushioned chair. read more

This coffee was absolutely tasty. I ordered a large, hot, white chocolate mocha with whipped cream on top and it was absolutely perfect. My attendant really took her time making it for me and even gave me extra whipped cream on top. You could taste the coffee in it. Made to perfection. Additionally, I got the pecan coffee cake. It was delicious but a little dry. This place is affordable and has indoor and outdoor seating. I came just before they closed and it seemed to be chill and clean. I'm a student at a local college, and tribes is the go-to spot for an oat milk lavender latte and feta omelette. I come here all the time with my friends to sit and do homework, and the art all over the walls feels like a hidden gallery. I was in need of an afternoon pick-me-up, so I popped in Tribes for a coffee and something sweet. The atmosphere was comfortable, the staff friendly, and my Lavender Latte was just what I needed. By the time I finished my treat, I decided to take food home! I ordered a pasta bowl, a beef fajita burrito, and a chicken fajita burrito. Descent quality of food here but not so much for customer service. Expect at least half an hour if not more for your order to be made. Menu is quite expansive compared to the size of the restaurant[. They also sell various forms of art. Overall the place is clean and enough space to sit both indoor and outdoor: the Dodd quality is average four prices are a bit on the higher end. Ordered the Organic Ethiopia and Tribes House Blend; the House Blend was a dark roast, but not too dark. The House Blend is a mix of American and Indonesian coffees. The Organic Ethiopia had a mild taste as it was medium roast without the earthiness that can be tasted in some African coffees. They were roasted by Red Rock Roasters from New Mexico. In the mid-90s I worked at Glorieta Conference Center and would often spend my weekends in Santa Fe. One beautiful Saturday afternoon, I was at the downtown square and caught a whiff of that sweet coffee aroma wafting through the air. Not realizing there was a coffee shop right off the square, I followed my nose till I found Tribes Coffee House. Thinking I had found a magical portal into a hidden paradise, I hesitantly entered not believing my eyes. Paradise! Coffee beans and drinks galore! Food, fun, and so much more! Why ever leave? In the intervening years, I have been back a few times to find they have only changed for the better. Same friendly staff with incredible products for sale. Don't waste your time with Starbuck's or other chain coffee house. Stay and support local. You won't regret it. read more

What you see is what you get with this old school, casual, and unpretentious breakfast spot. If you want to be a Karen and complain about pico de gallo then I suggest taking the drive up Cerillos Road to the downtown Plaza area. Coffee was great, service good and friendly. This is a solid coffee house. Not spectacular, but solid. I had my cortado, and it was a little heavy on the milk, but otherwise fine. In making my wife's mocha, they did give good attention to getting the chocolate mixed in, which you don't always see. This was the second coffee shop in NM where they sweep the ground flat in the portafilter, then kiss it with a tamper. No tamping, just a polish. Is that going to transform the coffee? Probably not, but with coffee, it's such a complex drink that the more variables you control, the better drink you regularly get. read more

This little coffee house has a comfortable vibe. The staff are delightful (and sometimes singing along to the music they play.) This is a refreshing break from big chain coffee shops. I had the huevos rancheros on one visit and a simple bagel on another. Both were fantastic. Prices are reasonable and coffee refills are free. (Also the coffee here is great.) read more

Immediate impression wasn't good. VERY dirty windows... Cold!! they had the thermostat set at 62°. I was freezing in there. Didn't help that the chairs were metal and very uncomfortable. Hi. When I paid with my bankcard yesterday, the waiter ran my card and handed it back to me. He didn't give me a receipt or offer me to give a tip. So I left. I went into Tribes for the first time today. Their iced coffee is delicious. The barista was so welcoming and friendly. They have an extensive food menu....I'll definitely get something to eat next time. They have bright, colorful art hanging all over the walls. Now, the tamale oh my goodness I've never had such a moist tamale maybe the best tamale I've ever had. The pupusa was delicious and they didn't skimp on the cabbage salad. I expected something different with the beef stew. It was much thinner and Brosier than I expected, but it had an absolutely delicious flavor and plenty of meat. The server also failed to tell us that we could order only off of the one menu that fit the exact time of our visit, which happened to coincide with the time that they switch from offering lunch to the time they serve dinner. The cheeseburger was very tasty. The grilled salmon tacos were good but served with flavorless beans and bland rice. Not a place we'd refuse to visit again, but definitely not one we're eager to return to either.

Service matched the food in excellence--friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making the entire experience effortless and enjoyable. It's a true shame we missed out all those years ago, but one thing is certain: this restaurant will be on our must-visit list on all future trips. When we ordered drinks the waiter politely informed that they weren't allowed to serve alcohol in the front but then directed us to a cute patio in the back. we felt very comfortable there with our dog. We ordered and my wife ordered a cup of Pozole with her meal not knowing that they give you a dryer version of this with the plates. The food and drinks were fantastic right down to the chips and salsa. Simlpe south west cuisine with flavors that are authentic and made with love. The menu is not extensive but you could through a dart at it and be more then happy with anything you hit. We were in Santa Fe for two days and ate at Palacio's both of them. Palacio just Hits different, and is probably my favorite place to go for food in Santa fe. The owner and staff are outstanding, every single time. There's plenty of seating in the building but the perfect combination of the historic vibe and small town feel when you step inside really makes this place feel like you're having a meal with friends when you're in there. The food is always flavorful, quick and excellent.
