We had a wonderful time here, our first time eating here. Loved the decor and ambiance in both of the rooms, classy and welcoming. They have a large menu, so much to choose from. We shared an order of their puffed bread, it's not on the menu. Then we had the crab & avocado stack, which was excellent and the mussels in white sauce, the sauce was a little too salty. We also shared the seafood boulibaise made with grouper, which was yummy. For dessert we had the dark chocolate mousse and the pistachio tartuffo. The entertainment was top notch. They had 2 singers, male and female, she had an amazing voice. Over the course of the night people were up dancing on a small area in the middle of the room. I'm definitely coming back. read more

Been in business since2006 so must be doing things right. Located in the best spot at corner of Main Street in Northwood. Started off in two largish rooms and added another room to make quite a large restaurant. They have delightful pizza. Good service and reasonable parking. I was absolutely thrilled that I chose this restaurant for my Friday lunch date. Located in the revitalized Northwood area in Palm Beach, this is a good sized restaurant with a piano bistro vibe that would be a great place for either lunch or dinner. The decor was artistic with a thrift store feel. I loved how they repurposed their empty Clase Azul Tequila bottles in table lamp and the large chandelier was cut pvc pipes holding the lightbulbs. As for the food and service, they too were great. My server Devyn was totally on top of everything. Beverages refilled, appetizer brought out hot, and main course followed shortly after. The Arancini appetizer was creamy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The Meatball Hoagie Sandwich was filled with chopped meatballs which made is not messy at all to eat and the gooey cheese held it all together inside the soft baked roll. The Greek Salad with added Salmon was prepared perfectly. Cold salad with the right amount of toppings and dressing underneath a medium rare filet of salmon was very good. Portions are generous and prices are great for the area of town. There is some lovely outside seating and inside there is a night time vibrant bar scene with piano music. Parking is limited but free on the street with no overnight parking allowed. After the meal, it is nice to take a stroll along the sidewalk to see the local businesses. read more

This was disappointing and I really wanted to like Cafe Centro as the staff is great and the vibe is laidback and welcoming, however the Olive Garden like Italian food I tried had no connection to authenticity and just as bad, the quality was questionable. A pasta with pesto dish was drowning in a heavy cream like sauce and that's not something you see in authentic Italian restaurants and while I can see a light cream sauce for an Americanized version, the dish served was drowning in the heavy sauce. I grew up eating homemade pesto and the sauce is simple and variations aside consists of: Fresh basil, not supermarket basil (hard to find but worth the search) Pignoli nuts A good olive oil Firm garlic Quality Pecorino cheese (or a similar cheese) Non commercial Parmesan cheese Their version was simply disgusting and an affront to good pesto. The quality or cooking method made a Chicken dish impossible to cut - and eat. A pasta item was overcooked, even though it was requested al dente and the sauce was of the flavorless red variety which could not be consumed. Other items were somewhat consistent with those mentioned. It's a shame because the staff is very nice and I hear that the entertainment is good. read more

The pizza was a perfect serving size to get full and have leftovers for lunch the next day and the crust is thin and delicious. We also had a couple of drinks and they were strong and very yummy. My friend and I visited Cafe Centro for happy hour and dinner and left very disappointed with how we were treated. The food itself was good, but the hospitality and customer service were disappointing. We were initially moved from one bar seat because it was apparently reserved for a regular customer. Later, after we had finished eating but were still enjoying our non-alcoholic drinks, the manager approached us and asked us to move to a regular table so another couple who "comes weekly" could take our seats at the bar. What made the situation especially frustrating was that we had originally been told bar seating was required for happy hour. Once seated and ordering food and drinks, however, we were made to feel as though we were less valued because we were not regular customers and had ordered from the happy hour menu. The bartender even commented that if we came weekly for three years, we could also have reserved seats. We were still planning to continue our evening, order additional drinks, and possibly dessert, but after being asked to move for regular customers, we no longer felt welcome. We understand restaurants valuing loyal patrons, but paying guests should not feel displaced or second-class while still actively dining and enjoying their evening. read more

They were great!!! 10/10. Seared to perfection, buttery and melted in your mouth. The Prosecco wine was single serve, it was good and not too sweet. Coffee was bad, tasted like burned paper. They have two rooms, with two different entertainers. Worth going just for the ambience. This one is a real treat! Strongly recommend Yelpers go to Open Mic night at Cafe Centro in the Northwood district of West Palm Beach. It's only once a month, so you must make reservations, even for a seat at the bar. One time, they seated us with strangers at a four-top. We ended up having a lot of fun meeting new people, but not everyone is that flexible. (Cafe Centro also has a nice Happy Hour before the show, with healthy pours for the wine.) The food is reasonably priced and super tasty. I've had the fresh, delicious salmon salad twice. My friend, a solid cook who grew up working in her family's Italian restaurant, strongly approves the many excellent Italian entrees. Service is very good. So, dinner any night would be great at this cafe. But on Open Mic night, talent from all over the county convenes to perform, accompanied by an excellent piano player who is like a human juke box, having memorized every possible show tune, ballad, hit song, etc. On certain nights, there are music producers in the audience and the singers are actually auditioning. The emcee used to work at the Governors Club atop Phillips Point back in the day and has a lot of showbiz contacts. The small business owners of Northwood, north of downtown West Palm Beach, have been trying hard for many years to become a nice shopping and dining destination. There are nearby quaint art galleries, cafes, etc. Parking is limited. I always end up on the street and after the show ends, there are one or two security guards in the vicinity. Something else you should know. The cute, small-town character is about to change forever. Massive condo complexes are being built along Currie Park and the Intracoastal. At that point, we can hope that developers add parking garages, but we Floridians have seen how this game plays out. Quiet neighborhoods turn into overcrowded metropolises, seemingly overnight. Really enjoyed the restaurant last night. They had live music and dancing inside. I was meeting a bunch of old friends and wanted to talk, so we sat outside. Our service by Jason was superb. He was attentive, friendly, and made great suggestions. The food was delicious, I recommend the grilled wings, the scallops with chorizo mash, and the octopus. All were delicious. The rest of the table really enjoyed their "puff bread". They said it was yummy. I didn't give 5 stars was that even though we were outside, the music was too loud. 1st time on Valentines Day, was a bit upset they didn't specify online they had a different menu for this day, 2nd tables way too close to each other we could touch the people sat next to us, they requested to be moved to an open table and server lied to them and said it was reserved and we were there 1 1/2 hours and nobody was ever sat at empty tables, besides that everything else was good. Among them, Cafe Centro combines the class of a piano bar lounge with a comfy cafe. They serve both lunch and dinner and offer a wide array of sandwiches, wraps, burgers, pasta, salads, and speciality dinners. Friendly service was found during my lunch visit. Enjoy the beautiful music choices and relax with a glass of wine or a designer drink. I would like to eat here a couple more times and experience more from the menu. We had pizza which was quite delicious and a Salmon BLT. While my salmon was good....it was a little over cooked and I'm sure if I had said something they would have corrected it....but it was still decent. The salmon BLT comes with shoestring french fries which are cleverly seasoned with black truffle salt and parsley.....they were wonderful. We also had Caesar salads with fresh romaine. I have been there more than a few times and always enjoy myself. Seth was our server and very attentive we started with Caesar salad and fried calamari all very good drinks were on point. I got the pasta primavera and a side of spaghetti squash the pasta was cooked correctly and the veggies still had a crispness to them witch I really like but the sauce lacked flavor I should of ordered a side of Alfredo sauce but forgot my husband ordered the steak and was very disappointed looked overcooked my father in law always orders the veal chop because he says it always tender and large but he was hoping it had a sauce or gravy to pull the real together my mother in law just ordered the side spaghetti squash and it was delicious I added to my primavera and gave some we both loved it the music and dancing just makes the whole night special I love that the entire staff are so helpful and keep the small tables bussed of finish plates and glassware we were too full for dessert and they do have valet for parking and outdoor dining read more

The restaurant is located in Northwood Village. I love this area because its relaxed, quaint, and it feels like a hidden treasure. I was in the mood for fish and pasta ( I know it's an unusual combo) Fish is on the dinner menu and isn't typically served during lunch but they were willing to accommodate. I was grateful for the good service and I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with salmon, broccoli on the side. The fish was cooked how I like it but its was bit burnt on the outside, so it didn't taste as good. The fettuccine was much thicker than I preferred. The broccoli was also too soft and salty, but I understand it was made to be mixed in with the sauce. Was taken here for Valentine's Day this year and I understand that is a busy day for the restaurant business, but cannot be an excuse for poor service, poorly cooked/spoiled food, and overcrowding. The dining room had live music, and the band was great don't get me wrong, but was so loud even being at the back of the room they played in I couldn't hear my date across the table. They also overcrowded the room to the point that guests rear ends/stomachs were squeezing over the table due to the close quarters. Even being a slender female myself it was impossible to get in or out of that place when a good majority of the seats are taken. They definitely needed to modify the layout a bit. Our server, although I know they get busy was nowhere to be found. Never checked on our food, waters and cocktails empty and spoke so quietly you couldn't even understand her. Also when making the reservation there wasn't a disclosure that they were limiting/modifying their menu so not all menu items were available that evening. They had some "specials" that I believe they were trying to turn over quickly since the food was spoiled. The lobster tail was very fishy and definitely felt and was sick afterwards. filet was alright. The saving grace was the veal Milanese. read more
