My biggest take away from my dinner last night was the service. Very attentive but not the least bit annoying. We were checked on at the right intervals and plates were cleared at precisely the right moment. If there was a 6th star to give - it would be for the service. The food was delicious with just the right portion. We all opted for the $55 Taste of South Florida offerings and everyone loved what they hard. The Pork osso buco was outstanding as was the bed of risotto it was on. Others had the branzino and were just as pleased. The seared tuna started and the crème brûlée were the perfect bookends to the amazing entrees. The cocktails were sized and priced just right. Although the restaurant was full, the acoustics were well handled. No shouting needed and across table conversations were no problem. The other regular menu items sounded delicious and I look forward to trying them soon. While the cost of certain dishes may seem high, the quality of service and food will definitely make up for it. read more

just wonderful! large parking lot. indoor and covered outdoor seating. they do have some areas of the restaurant where you have to walk upstairs so plan accordingly if anyone in your party has mobility issues. definitely gets a little loud on a saturday night! they take reservations. service was amazing and so was the food! burrata was very fresh, tandoori chicken was super tender and perfectly spiced, and peanut butter pie was just perfect. short rib also delicious and nice portions for everything! our server even added extra sauces to our leftovers box. i absolutely recommend and would come back any day! read more

Three of us went tonight, pretty place, has quite a following. Hostesses are welcoming, seated right away for our resv. The place is very cute with the little lights, really sets a nice tone. Cocktail was fine: we all chose the 3 course prix fixe. I started with the watermelon burrata pistachio salad, never had this way, it was really good. Their complimentary bread is also crisp & really good! For my main, pork tenderloin au piorve with augratin potatoes and roasted cauliflower. The meat itself was non-descript. It was okay, a bit bland & needed to b seasoned a bit more all round, the sauce was a bit thin and I didn't see any hint of peppercorn. Dessert shared the chocolate cake which was decadent and the crème brûlée rich was creamy and yummy the bruleed sugar was wayyy too thick, altho the edges were nice. Service by Sean was satisfactory. A drop of wine sherry. Wow salad Poached pears with almond goat cheese the flavors just light you up wonderful. Dinner. Had to go with the 16 oz Elk Chop Bone in rare in a nice dark sauce. / with purple cauliflower, red and white. All different tastes. We came here to meet friends for dinner. And we had a wonderful dining experience. And very attentive service, too. Even on an off season weekend, they were fully booked -- so make reservations in advance. We were seated downstairs. Our friends had been here before and said that upstairs is slightly quieter. Three of us had appetizers. The gentleman tried their lobster bisque. He said it was fantastic -- a nice sized bowl with lots of lobster pieces in it. The lady and I both had one of their daily special appetizers -- mini artichokes done Roman style. I love artichokes and had these in Italy many many years ago -- there they were called carciofi a la judea. Small baby artichokes deep fried with a lemon-garlic aioli. Yum. For entrees, we all got something different -- short rib (served over mashed potatoes) , cioppino (seafood stew), and one of their trio dinner specials -- pork medallions. The pork was good, but thicker than explained by the waiter and so a bit undercooked. I had their Syrah glazed duck which was outstanding! It was well done/crispy as requested. It was served with wild rice pilaf, red cabbage, and a blackberry sweet sauce (gastrique). The portion was large enough to eat and eat and still I took half home for another meal. We were all rather full so although several of the desserts mentioned by our server (Daniel) sounded delicious, we passed. She got the flourless chocolate cake with her prix fixe (the trio meal) so we took a taste. It was a chocolate mousse like layer on top of a fudgy layer. To start with, service was 10/10. We had such a warm greeting upon entering the restaurant, followed by a waiter that was fun and friendly, and made us smile and laugh all night. He was absolutely wonderful, and made the experience memorable. GREAT selection of Chardonnay (and really all wine). Appreciated they also had both cocktails and mocktails. The bread was hot out of the oven (both batches) and the housemade baba ghanoush was delicious!!! For dinner I ordered the lobster bisque, and the Argentinian skirt steak (with chimichurri sauce and garlic mashed potatoes). The lobster bisque was rich and creamy, but could've used a little more lobster meat. The steak was overcooked (I ordered it medium rare), but it was well-seasoned and paired well with the chimichurri sauce. I enjoyed the flavors and thought it was still pretty tender (for a skirt steak). I was impressed with the wide selection of desserts they had- I ordered the lava cake with a scoop of ice cream. You could tell it was premade and was microwaved, so was not my favorite (also am a lava cake snob with high expectations). I felt like the server kept trying to sell us alcohol and we were not that thrilled. The service was ok not stellar at the time. It was my mom's birthday weekend and we decided to go to Café Chardonay for a light, early dinner. It was my first time there, although the place has been around Palm Beach Gardens for quite a while. The restaurant by itself had a very charming and peaceful vibe, it almost felt like a cozy cabin, with enchanting pendant light bulbs that gave each table a candlelit appeal. The food and the service were superb. Jim was our server for the night, and he made sure my mom and our party were completely satisfied with every detail. Since it was a light dinner, we opted for the pear and goat cheese salad. It must've been something about how it was described in the menu because three out of our party of four decided to order it. Another selection was the San Francisco Cioppino, and we also had the wild mushroom streusel as a starter. The ingredients in the salad were crunchy and fresh, perfectly seasoned with the champagne vinaigrette. The goat cheese was creamy, and the mix of savory and sweet with the pears and cranberry raisins was just right. My favorite was the wild mushroom streusel the combination of mushrooms wrapped in filo pastry on top of the creamy sauce and vegetables was spectacular. It melted in my mouth with every bite. For desert we were pleasantly surprised with what I think was a flowerless chocolate cake covered with chocolate mousse. It was rich but not too sweet, making it the perfect ending to my mother's "light" birthday dinner. Last night we went to Cafe Chardonnay for a birthday dinner. Our server, Dan was awful. We only asked for three things during our meal. A glass of ice,Asked 3 times) no fish in my seafood pasta and butter. The no fish was ignored. It was full of overcooked fish and overdone shrimp and undercooked pasta. Was never asked if our dinners were good. Then the coup de gras was Dan brought us a lovely cake with birthday candle and charged us $14 for it. I should have sent my dish back and would have if been asked how it was. Haven't been to the famous Cafe Chardonnay in 5 years and was excited to be going back! Not now! I am fascinated at the remarks in regard to this place. We used to go once in awhile and stopped and reminded of why we stopped last night. Food was very mediocre. I ordered the lobster fra Diavolo after seeing an ad on social media. I WISH it looked like the photo. Two big over cooked pieces of lobster with some red sauce that was just fair. The pasta they used was the large spaghetti type noodle that when you spin it on the fork to eat it, it comes off the fork Totally the wrong type of pasta as I continually had to bend over and eat it off the plate.My wife's salad was also mediocre which was soggy. Service was good I must say which is why I left a $50 tip on a $175 bill. Unfortunately won't be back there anytime soon. read more

Finally got to try Cafe Chardonnay after hearing only great things. The experience lived up to the hype. The food was delicious. We tried the macadamia crusted snapper with fruit salsa( very generous portion and delicious), the rack of lamb which my husband devoured and the duck which my MIL really enjoyed. The sides were excellent and the bread served with baba ghanoush dip a unique twist. A complimentary dessert sampler in honor of our celebration of two birthdays was a lovely touch and much appreciated. The tea was lukewarm, the lava cake was barely warmed. The waiter was chipper and upbeat but he lacked actual service-- to rinse a meat and bring it back is weird, especially with the sauce cooked into it, and the menu description didn't mention any sauce. The sides to come with it weren't there and others were added. My date asked for spinach and got broccoli. Really terrible listening on the part of the waiter Eddie. We love their Flavor of the Palm Beach 2024 menu selection and were so excited to try it as we had heard many good reviews, and it did not disappoint mostly. I had the lemon raviolis which were light and delicious. Hubs had the seared scallop which was perfectly cooked and so good. The branzino and pork chop both fabulous. Our friend ordered the veal short rib pappardelle which was so fatty he could not eat it. The waitress never came back to ask how everything was. My only complaint was the dishes lacked sauce, and we had to ask for extra sauce. Definitely will be one of our new regular spots! read more

We came here on this past Father's Day, my wife picked Cafe Chardonnay as a surprise, we hadn't been here in a while. We had been here once before, years ago, and recalled a good experience. The space is still cozy and attractive. The service was attentive, in general. But when I ordered a drink special, a maple bacon Old Fashioned, it came without the maple bacon. The waitress had to go back to the bar upon my request to stick a piece of maple bacon strip in my cocktail post-hoc... Moving on....My wife ordered the lobster risotto. For the approximately $60 prix -fixe ( which included a decent - but nothing special- flourless chocolate cake dessert, and undercooked, starchy lobster ravioli ). The risotto however, was over-cooked..., and the lobster meat was scant, barely an ounce or two; it was obviously Caribbean lobster, not cold- water lobster,which you would reasonably expect for this price point, at this type of restaurant. My churrasco skirt steak was decent, but again, they certainly did not hit it out of the park; it was nothing to write home about. All in all, for the amount of money my wife spent taking me and our son out for Father's Day, we were understandably disappointed, and won't be rushing back. The restaurant management may feel free to speak with me, and invite us back for another try, but otherwise, as stated, we would likely not be rushing back on our own accord. read more

Father's Day for myself and my father in law with our wives, we came to my wife's favorite PGA restaurant for dinner. We started with the ladies having Martinis. And the gents had Mushroom strudel and cauliflower roasted with a light sauce. I started with a French Onion Soup, and the inlaws shared a Ceasar salad. Both were very good. I felt the Mushroom Strudel was a little small but extremely flavorful. For our dinners, we had an assortment of items, I went with the Yellowtail for the second night. One Halibut one ciopinno and my wife had the rack of lamb. Daniel, our waiter, was very professional and was very knowledgeable of the menu and made some suggestions. I can't believe I forgot to take photos of the apps. But I did get photos of our main dishes  My Snapper was cooked perfectly and because it is with a fruit salsa it was on the sweet  side. So be sure you like sweet in your food. I thought it was delicious. The ciopinno was great with a light red sauce. And the lamb was cooked to perfection. Halibut  was fresh and tasty as I tried each dish tonight. One thing I would note is if you have seniors with you make sure to note in your reservation to keep you in the first floor as we were put on the loft up the stairs which was fine for us but harder to get the in-laws up and down the stairs. loved the wall lamps. made it romantic and intimate. read more

The four of us had dinner at this restaurant for the first time last night and were quite impressed. Service (thank you Jim), food presentation, food quality and flavors were all outstanding. We were in the downstairs main dining room. The place was busy and buzzing but we were still able to converse. The elk chop and glazed half duck were excellent. Decent wine list. All things considered prices were fair. No petty "convenience fee" for using credit cards here so we definitely return. Convenient parking available. Overall, an excellent experience. I always have a lovely time visiting Cafe Chardonnay! Whether I am dining in or ordering takeout, the staff and kitchen crew do a wonderful job. On Tuesday's they have Italian takeout from their old restaurant, No Anchovies, and the lasagna is incredible. On the regular menu, the veal chop is the shining star! Tender and juicy with a succulent sauce on top paired with mushroom risotto, A+ from me! Plus, they always make sure your glass is full and your silverware is fresh, something that is hard to come by in this day and age of dining. Not to mention, the interior is so cozy! It's currently decked out for the holiday season, but it is always warm and inviting. We were recently seated upstairs, which, for a people watcher like me, was a dream. Hubby and I went to Cafe for my birthday. We sat outside because we brought our dog with us and they have outdoor seating and this restaurant is pet friendly. First, I want to give a shout out to our waiter, Robert. Absolutely the best waiter we can remember for many years, and we have been all over the world and all over this country. I don't know exactly what it was about him that made him such a perfect waiter, but it was a blend of subdued friendliness, eagerness to make our dining experience the best possible and most importantly, he actually came back and checked on us quite frequently. Robert, if I could give you 10 stars, I would. thank you for making my birthday so special I also want to thank the head bartender for bringing my dog ice water and coming to pet her quite frequently Now on to the food. This is a first class restaurant with an extensive wine list. They make their own desserts in house. For our first time being here, it was quite difficult to decide which entrée we wanted because they all look delicious. We skipped the salad and appetizers because we actually wanted to eat and enjoy our dinner without being too full. I had the duck and my husband had the elk chop. Portions were large. My duck was tender and not too sweet. It came with rise and vegetables. I also had a side of very good wild mushrooms. My husband raved about his elk chop and gobbled it up in minutes . I had crème brûlée for dessert. I never eat dessert anywhere but when you find a restaurant that actually makes desserts in House, you have to try and I was very pleased with my choice. We came at 5 o'clock and by 5:30 the restaurant was completely full. And we're talking about off-season. As a member of the international gastronomic society, the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, I'm quite picky about my food choices. Last night, I enjoyed my second dining experience at this unassuming restaurant. Located in a strip mall, you'd never expect the quality of food, service, or ambiance behind the front door. While not cheap, it was not crazy. We shared many dishes, including one of the best lobster bisque soups, filled with lots of real lobster meat. The ceviche was perfectly balanced and delicious, made of shrimp and octopus. Lemon ricotta ravioli was a special, and one of the best homemade pastas I've had. Rolled thin, the ravioli was delicately enhanced with a lemon sauce that didn't hide the amazing pasta pocket. My date had a flavorful branzino, while I enjoyed a huge, thick-cut pork chop. Closing the meal was a flourless chocolate cake with chocolate mousse on top for me, and a chocolate and cheese board for my date. The chocolate truffle and pecorino cheese with truffle were the stars of that board. I didn't mention the service, but with about two dozen of us being served by just two servers, we expected a lot of gaps, but it was as if there were 12 servers, because everyone had their full attention. This place is excellent, top to bottom. A real 10 out of 10! Top-notch service. Great food. Tasty drinks. Everything you'd want out of a restaurant. We were surprised to find how big the place is after entering the front doors. It looks like a small, cute place from the outside, but once you walk in you're welcomed by a spacious bar, multiple dining rooms and multiple levels. It was impressive to see inside a little strip mall. We had the lobster bisque, the butternut squash pear soup, the filet, and the braised short ribs. It's always full and lively looking. The age range is all across the spectrum which gives the place nice energy. Mind you, this is a true sit-down and be served place. Plan to spend some time enjoying your appetizers, dinner, cocktails, and dessert. No rushing through. Last time I was there I had pan seared veal scaloppine. It was simply wonderful. As one enters the restaurant, there is a traditional wood accented cozy bar area to the right of the dining room. The dining room has an elegant and nonetheless romantic appeal. I have dined at this restaurant many times, and I have aways been satisfied with my dining experience. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Also, their wine list S is extensive with delightful choices. I have photographed most of my favorite dishes a Café Chardonnay,; Hog Snapper, Skirt Steak, Lamb chops, various appetizers. Cafe Chardonay is one of the finest restaurants in South Fla. I am a Palm Beach resident and every time we go I ask why we are not there more frequently. Greeted warmly for our reservation and seated promptly . We wanted to sit at the bar for dinner and Charlie and Lude( i hope I have it right ) were simply fantastic. Very attentive even with a very busy dinner crowd. Our dinners were superb. Lude recommended the ELK and it was tasty, tender and delicious.. I am so glad I ordered it. The peel cocktail was fun for Easter but tasted like pink strawberry NesQuick so I didn't finish it as I wasn't feeling it but we went there for the food and it was all delicious and did not disappoint and I'd absolutely return. read more
