Cuban toast and Cafe con Leche
    Carolyn S.

Great little spot in the airport to grab yourself some quick munchies and coffee to provide fuel for your travels. I stopped here needing an extra coffee to get through my flight to Norfolk, and was happy to be greeted by friendly workers at the front who werre patient as I made my selection. I got myself a cafe con leche with toast. The cafe con leche is wquite large (like 24 oz), so brace yourself, but I love coffee, so I didnt mind at all. It was rich and creamy with good body and flavor. Paired with their fresh, hot, buttered Cuban toast, it really hit the spot before I had to say goodbye to my hometown.

Enjoying a nice hot cup of Cafe Con Mocha. It's pretty good. They put the right amount of sweetener in it and that's good. Usually I need to add it at other places. But they really do it right here.

Tasty Cuban Style sandwiches, made to order. We were looking for something fast and hot before boarding our evening flight. When everyone else was starting to close up, they stayed open to feed us. Thank you!

I didn't get a chance to grab a Cuban on this trip, so with some extra time at the airport in Terminal C (Southwest Airlines), I hit Cafe Con Leche. The biggest problem I had was it wasn't pressed. In fact, the sandwich press looked not to be working... But I'm not sure... As I started typing this, I realized I ordered my Cuban "hot", not "pressed", so maybe this was on me? On the menu it's "Hot Pressed" (see pic), so who knows? That being said, it as hot, but without being pressed, did not live up to my expectations. It was rather soft, but it was tasty. Bottom line: It did scratch my itch, but it was no La Segunda!

Waiting for my order - all made fresh!

This is a corner cafe in Terminal C for coffee/cold drinks/pastry/Cubans. I came for breakfast, and even though the guava filled pastry looked delicious, I opted for the cheese and egg on Cuban bread. The eggs and cheese were yummy, but it was a little too much bread for me. Since sandwiches were made fresh in one oven, and since so many of us were ordering this morning (5/10/23), service was slow. But staff was pleasant!

Found this gem in the Tampa Airport near the Southwest Airline terminal. I'm usually not a big fan of Airport food, but the Cuban sandwich here was well worth the wait if you have time before your flight. They also had several tables to sit and have a meal.

I don't know why I thought cafe con mocha would be an awesome idea. Probably because it said hot chocolate but it totally needs a better creamer selection or more honey. Yes honey I'm eliminating sugar from my life lol. Also I got the guava cream cheese pasty, taste manufactured and not homemade! St Pete spoiled me.

Terrible breakfast sandwich. Egg does not taste fresh. Coffee is ok but you're better off going to McDonald's.

Don't use the kiosk to order. Only 1 sandwich choice - toast. And order never registered with staff making coffee or food.

I had the opportunity to stop by last week with some co-workers while we were all running low on some caffeine and was extremely happy with finding Leads Coffeehouse. Located where some might call the "Cusp of South Tampa" (no - actually, no one calls it that and realistically it's only self-proclaimed branding is what's happening here), Leads Coffeehouse is right off North Himes Avenue, paralleling the main drag of Dale Mabry. It does seem like it's in the neighborhood cuts, but that is arguably a part of the appeal of Leads Coffee. The shop does not make itself apparent - whether you're driving by or deliberately looking for it. The signs seem to indicate a Guzman Law Firm, along with Networking Leads - which seem to be some sort of co-working space. However, if you look closely at the sign - you will notice the coffeehouse in fine print. Even as you are walking up, the coffeehouse appears hidden in plain sight - almost like a speakeasy, but for coffee, i.e. legalized crack for daywalkers. There is a parking lot for the venue, however the spaces are rather limited. Inside, you will find a very inviting space with home-y decor and color palettes to match. The seating appears very conducive for study and small work gatherings. Aside from that, I found the postal card mailbox extremely interesting and I will definitely come back here to take advantage of this offering. There is a "traditional" coffee menu with specialized drinks, along with a seasonal bevvie list. Additionally, you can order small eats and baked goods. The baristas and servers are extremely friendly and welcoming. Overall, Leads Coffeehouse is ultimately a great coffee shop to bring friends, family, and co-workers to share company with!

Even better is that they have chocolate hazelnut, and I'm always on the lookout for anything hazelnut, which seems to be something of rarity outside of Europe. Suffice to say, Amorino's gelato did not disappoint! Smooth, creamy, refreshing, with that distinct hazelnut flavor mixed with the bold complex taste of their coffee gelato (i got two flavors in one cup). The girls behind the counter were very nice and helpful and managed to swipe my card since I'm not able to pay via app??!! (you have to order and pay via kiosk) and it was overall not a problem. They have cute little outside tables that are shaded to give you more of that European sidewalk cafe feel. My ONE regret was getting a cup that was maybe a tad too small. I can't remember if I can size up, if so, I'm getting a bigger cup.
