Veal on bone pounded thin, served Parma style
    Frank T.

Cafe Continental is traditional Italian food. We had a very good meal today. Started with appetizers of: - crab stuffed portobello shrooms - grilled shrimp and baked clams - eggplant rollatini* - fried calamari - caprese salad - cold antipasto - broccoli rape, crumbled sausage and polenta* Moved on to pasta of fresh tagliatelle with a smoky veal*, and penne with red sauce (* = foods that were crowd pleasers) Then entrees. Veal was the winner - from veal chops, to veal loins, served grilled or Parmesan pounded thin, topped with sauce, peps/onions, salad, or eggplant. Just ask for what you want, and going off the menu was a-ok here which gets them the fourth star. The pescatarians raved about the salmon and striped bass, but complained about rubbery scallops. Deserts and coffee were good. Italian is a very crowded category around here, I found Cafe Continental to be well run, good food, and service that cares. Clientele was definitely upscale and well-dressed (except for us).

Crazy busy at this great neighborhood restaurant. Standing room only on a Saturday night.

My go to place in Manhasset. We always eat at the bar and Peter is an amazing bartender. We always start off with the hot antipasto. And when soft shell crabs are in season - it's a must have. When the bees short ribs are on the specials, don't leave the restaurant before having it!! Amazing.

    Nice meal classic atmosphere!

Is the menu on line accurate? I am looking for the oysters, escargot and the frog legs. I do not eat meat or pasta. Thank you

They are attentive and courteous, even when they are super busy. They expanded their menu since they renovated the interior. I still stick for the classic Greek fare like chicken souvlaki and gyros. Highly highly recommend! Owned by a lovely family!

Omelet & Home Fries desperately needed seasoning on all levels. Chicken and Lemon Rice Soup was adequately flavored with a nice pucker but the Olive Oil used was flowery and overpowered the delicacy of this soup. The Grilled Chicken Salad (lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes) on it's own was DELISH. The Caesar dressing that was different but edible, a little on the sweet and thin side. Thankfully, had some Homemade Caesar at home to compensate. Also, had a TEC (Turkey, freshly sliced off the bone, Egg (scrambled), and Cheese (Cheddar) on a large, pillowy roll. Enjoyable. Service...1 person put a SOUR taste in our mouths. Was immediately greeted by everyone, except the older lady who was supposed to take our order. We LITERALLY stood in front of the register for almost 10 minutes, while she greeted and helped EVERYONE around, on the side & behind us. An older jovial man finally greeted us and was apologetic and swift. If it wasn't for the long morning and afternoon we had, we would've taken our money elsewhere! It stayed busy and packed so get there early. They do try to be efficient when seating. Overall, we could give them another opportunity to see if the "selective service" by that 1 team member was a one-off! Street parking.

We would not have come back except we had plans with friends who wanted to meet here. So glad we did! My main complaint before was the acoustics. The renovation with added decor to dampen noise did the trick. I didn't even notice that the restaurant was full. We ordered different dishes and ate it family style so got to try a few different dishes. I didn't order so don't know the specific names but we shared a salad, a spicy calamari, egg yolk ravioli, black linguini with seafood, catfish, and a veal parm. I especially enjoyed the ravioli. Flavors were nice on all the dishes. I don't know if it was the company but I didn't notice a lapse in service. The servers were attentive. The parking was still ample. I'm glad we came back and a little regretful that we waited so long.

The ambiance was warm and inviting, and every single person from the host to the bartender to our server and everyone in between played a part in making the night feel special. The attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine kindness did not go unnoticed, and it set the tone for the entire evening. We were first greeted with warm bread and olive oil, which was absolutely delightful and the perfect start. Our server, Paulino (I hope I'm spelling his name right), guided us through the menu with such care and knowledge, which made the experience even better. We started with the mussels Bianco and baked clams both were outstanding, easily a 9/10. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. For our entrées, we had the branzino and a pasta dish that was nothing short of amazing. The attention to detail like freshly cracked pepper added right at the table made everything feel elevated and thoughtfully done. To end the night, I mentioned that my mom had just passed her real estate exam and that we were celebrating her. They went above and beyond by bringing out an apple crostini with a candle, which was such a thoughtful and memorable touch. And yes, we devoured the entire thing. It was that good. Truly a 10000/10 moment. What made this experience even more meaningful is that it came after a long, stressful day at the ER. Walking into such warmth, care, and genuine hospitality meant more than I can put into words. Thank you again for the incredible service, attentiveness, and overall experience. I truly wish I could remember everyone's names because each person we encountered was a pleasure. Please let them know my mom and I are so grateful. We dined on April 3rd around 9 PM, and it's a night we won't forget.

The restaurant, Gatsby's Landing, draws its name from the romantic nostalgia of The Great Gatsby. Situated near the Long Island Sound and Roslyn Pond, the setting offered a beautiful waterfront ambiance. My wife opted for the Baby Roasted Beets Salad, Salmon, and Crème Brûlée, while I chose the Lobster Bisque, Squid Ink Tonnarelli, and Tiramisu. The menu highlights their commitment to fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients - a promise they certainly delivered on. The dishes were both delicious and generously portioned. It was clear the kitchen doesn't skimp on quality; for instance, the lobster bisque was loaded with tender lobster meat, the squid ink tonnarelli featured an abundance of blue crab, and the salmon was a substantial, thick-cut fillet. The chef clearly possesses a mastery of technique, knowing exactly how to pair garnishes and balance flavors in perfect harmony. Furthermore, the waitstaff was both diligent and courteous. We can see why this establishment is so popular--the combination of exceptional cuisine, attentive service, and the serene lake views is hard to beat. However, there is one area for improvement: the restaurant should consider replacing their current chipped plates with larger, more elegant dinnerware. High-quality presentation would better reflect the dignity and caliber of the food they serve.

Once DJ George gets behind the turntables, the energy stays high all night long. My advice? Make a dinner reservation and arrive early. Around 9 PM, this place transforms from an upscale restaurant into a full-blown party. The vibe is elegant, sexy, and energetic. The lighting is always on point, the crowd comes dressed to impress, and the atmosphere is electric. As for the food, it's consistently good. The Kyma Chips, Crab Cakes, Keftedes, and Branzino are all must-orders. Once the bottles start coming out, expect sparklers flying, napkins in the air, and everyone on their feet. It's definitely a party. Valet parking is available, and one thing I really appreciate is that the owner is always around, making sure guests feel welcome and taken care of. One heads-up: as the night goes on, you'll occasionally run into a few people who let the alcohol go to their heads and forget how to act. Fortunately, the staff does a great job maintaining a fun atmosphere for everyone. Dress to impress, bring your friends, and be prepared for a night that doesn't end until the early morning hours.
