Great location, so quiet and mellow. Very good coffee, fresh pastry (something difficult to find in the world of frozen pastries with false pretensions of freshness), awesome view to the affluent cars passing by those big windows and a cute terrace outside. Perfect corner location and quiet factor too. Looks like the perfect coffee shop. I would add the touch of simple fresh flowers in each table to make it better, plus more variety in the sweets section. As one would expect from the cafe run by a great restaurant everything I've had here has been good. I am not a fan of the coffee but that's a matter of style. Maybe it's because I'm a mature gent I like my coffee less bitter and not 'winey.' As espresso it all tastes too sour to me. But I won't knock a star off because that is the most popular style now and they obviously keep the machines clean and care about the quality. The gem here for me is the Greek yogurt with honey and fruit. The yogurt is as thick as clay and the honey is just delicious. The baked goods are good but tend to be pretty small. I like to buy the day-olds and put them in a hot oven for a minute. The bacon-onion pastry is addictive. read more

There were people inside and out on the covered patio but the sign on the door said, "Closed" - I went back to my car and called them, they said they close at 2PM. We have been to Dio Deka a few time, and decided that this side kick would be a nice spot for some light and quick bite. To our surprise, they ran out of all breakfast items, so had to settle for lunch. Their lunch is mostly pre-made - you can get whatever's in the container. Not great, but served our purpose. We ordered the veggie wrap and hazelnut mocha. Both were delicious! The wrap had spinach, eggs and cheese. The wrap was very soft and toasted. 5/5. There is outdoor seating but it is kind of cramped and uncomfortable if multiple tables are occupied. There is plenty of indoor seating as well. This place is perfect to grab a coffee and go relax in the opposite park. read more

This is probably going to be my favorite coffee shop to do work! The staff was extremely nice and friendly! There was also plenty of seating inside and outside and the wifi was very stable! The best thing about this cafe is the decor. I like the vibe it gives off. And I also like that it's away from the heart of downtown so it's like crowded on weekends. The employees super nice and great. I went at 12:30pm on a Sunday, and there was a manageable crowd. Cleanliness: Everything was pretty clean. I say at a table by the window, and I could see crumbs and a little buildup against the window. I did see them wipe down tables at one point (3/5). Customer experience: the cashier/barista was friendly and helped me to alight customize my drink. I also noticed that they went above and beyond for customers - like offering to cut a sandwich in half for someone sharing (5/5). Product/Service quality: The cashier did tell me that their chai lattes are sweet so we reduced the number of chai pumps they used by half - it was still super chai. There wasn't any hint of spice in there. My friend ordered a cappuccino. The weight was definitely more heavy than I would expect from a cappuccino (2/5). read more

Imagine my surprise to find a slice of bacon buried in my Roast Chicken sandwich. I hadn't asked for it - and I sure didn't want it. Unfortunately, I didn't find it before I started eating the sandwich. When I discovered it (too late!) and complained, the server told me that "bacon is part of a classic Chicken Club" - which may be true, but I had ordered "Roast Chicken", not a "Chicken Club". They sell a Cafe Borgia with Ghiradelli chocolate and orange peel, a fun drink for summer. The staff are friendly and able to satisfy customers special orders. For example, they are willing to mix whole and nonfat milks to accommodate my request for 2% milk. Almond milk is available. They have options for dark, milk and white chocolate. The latte is good. In general, it is a nice, well-kept cafe with a modern feel. Situated across the street from the Los Gatos library, the location is easily accessible and just outside of the bustling downtown on Los Gatos Blvd so there is parking available on weekends. read more

Great little cafe in downtown Los Gatos. Their coffee always taste great. My usual is their Cafe Borgia. I have it hot or iced and you can ask for dark chocolate. Their breakfast food selection is limited but always taste fresh. Wait is never too long. Short story: serious coffee in a fun spot. Longer story: Los Gatos seems labyrinthine to me, with small streets and alleys connecting important destinations. After wondering around Lis Gatos high school looking for a lacrosse tournament (something you'd think would be easy find and hard to miss), I needed a pick-up, and stumbled upon Café Dio. James, Lauren, and Bria run a tight ship, with a serious focus on quality product. When I asked for a macchiato in a 16 oz. Corkcicle cup, James was careful to let me know that a real macchiato wouldn't fill it. Lauren was careful to make sure I was happy with pour of the result, and Beka helped me find stuff that was hidden in plain sight. Fun experience and GREAT COFFEE. read more

At first glance the coffee shop looks cute and a nice place to study at, however the first table we went to had spiderwebs and the table just did not look clean, the second table was fine however it was sticky that did end up really annoying. But what was worse was the flies! They kept flying around us and even landed in my coffee that I could just not concentrate on anything else after that. I am excited about Cafe Dio! It's a small new coffee & sandwich shop that's easily accessible from the Los Gatos Creek Trail near downtown Los Gatos. The location is perfect! Walk inside and you're greeted by a modern and welcoming interior with plants, unfinished wood, and a dark colored modern coffee shop feel. The staff was very friendly and chatted with the barista. The coffee was good but the barista said they are trying to switch from Illy (ick) beans to something local like Blue Bottle. (I say they should use Barefoot!) The food sounded good but was wrapped in to-go style plastic wrap and just didn't look very appealing. Another minor gripe is they didn't have much seating inside or out. They said this is another issue they're working on and is due to zoning. If Cafe Dio can get more seats, have better presentation of their pre-prepared food, and start using local beans (there are so many good local roasters) then this place would easily be a five star establishment. For a cafe in Los Gatos, where others offer gluten free options, would really like to see Cafe Dio offer some choices for those of us with food allergies. **update- response to comment: Thanks for your comment, but given the health- conscious area we live in, it's nice to have inclusion for those of us who suffer from food allergies. Also the burden shouldn't be on the customer to find a gluten free bakery. If I knew one, I'd just go there. read more

An adorable cafe owned by the Dio Deka peeps across the street. We stopped in for something refreshing to drink in the middle of a hot summer's day and I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful food options they also offer. We got some iced teas (very yummy) but also couldn't resist trying some of their cookies. We got the chocolate chip one and the one with lots of sprinkles and both were delectable....so flavorful, chewy, and the size of my face!! Solid little cafe with lots of natural light. Coffee/espresso are well made. Decaf espresso is one of the best I've had. They've got a decent selection of bottled beverages and snacks, including yogurt parfait, pre-made sandwiches, pre-made salads, and sparkling water. It's a great place to relax and get work done (note: post 2pm during the school year it's temporarily flooded with high school students running in-and-out for about 30 mins). read more

Have been many times. Food is great, but sadly had such a disappointing customer service experience today. Purchased a salad and was told they were out of dressing. I get that it happens. The staff had a chance to make it right, but seemed uninterested in my experience or exploring a posible remedy. Felt pretty dismissed at that point. So I went across the street to the main restaurant to see if I could get a side of dressing (which is what I believe the cafe workers typically do when something like this happens). The gentlemen at Dio Dekka just brushed me off with multiple excuses. After a lengthy back and forth, he begrudgingly finally said he would get me some, but by that point the opportunity to take care of me as a customer had passed. I turned around and left.
