When I walked in, the lady at the counter greeted me in the most unique way possible: by staring at me in silence until I made it to the register. Eventually, I got a menu and ordered the Turkey Chipotle and Chicken Pesto Club. I have to give credit where it's due--the sandwiches were delicious. The Chicken Pesto Club was packed with flavor, the marinated chicken was juicy, and the bacon tied everything together perfectly. The Turkey Chipotle was so good I went back for the second half later. That's when I got an unexpected extra ingredient: a long hair in my sandwich. Nothing kills a craving faster than that. As someone who works in the food industry, that's a pretty big miss and instantly ruined my appetite. Cookie? Mac salad? Straight to the trash. The food was honestly great, but finding a hair in my sandwich definitely took some shine off the "best sandwiches in Carmichael" title.

This specific Sandwich Spot location was one of my original favorite sandwich shops of all time…read more My friend Ashley and I used to always come here and split a Cougar on Dutch Crunch, sub pastrami for turkey. Feeling nostalgic, I recently decided to have lunch here. I asked for a Cougar with pastrami instead of turkey. "You want a number 26?" (Looks at menu) "Yes, with pastrami instead of turkey." "Number 26, right?" When I had walked in, I saw two girls cleaning. One of them had stopped to take my order. After taking my order, she continued to clean for exactly ten minutes before stopping, washing her hands, and beginning to prepare my sandwich. (I'm positive that it was exactly ten minutes before she even *started* to make my sandwich, because I get a text message the minute my card is charged, so it's easy to just look at the text, and see how much time has elapsed.) As she finished making my sandwich, another guest came in. After she placed her order, the second girl washed her hands, and both girls made her sandwich together. While I had waited nearly fifteen minutes for my sandwich, this girl waited for less than two. It was so odd. As I ate my sandwich, both girls behind the counter stared at me so hard that I seriously wondered if they had done something funky to my sandwich. So, all of that was very strange. But the sandwich was good. None of the ingredients were missing. The veggies were all in ridiculously tiny quantities in comparison to the super smearing of sauce, but, it was all there, and it tasted good. When it comes to sandwiches, in terms of the meat, you get what you pay for. Sandwich Spot uses cheaper meat than some fancier delis do, but they also use a larger quantity of it. So, if you would rather have a large amount of okay pastrami versus a medium amount of great pastrami, then, Sandwich Spot is the spot for you. If you're really into premium lunch meat, though, this isn't it. The pastrami tasted like it could have come from the fridge section at Winco or Walmart. Overall, for a cheaper/lower-end sandwich place, Sandwich Spot is still one of my favorites. I love their menu, and haven't found a sandwich quite like the Cougar anywhere else.

I went.to the counter to ask for a side of mayo and was initially given pushback as they said I did not want mayo. She acted like she was not going to provide it. What kind of crap is that? When she noticed I was a bit annoyed, she provided it. The music they have piped in is too loud making it hard to hear and place orders and to have a conversation. We paid over 38 dollars for 2 sandwiches, 2 small bags of chips and 2 small drinks. Sorry....too much money for what we received. I will likely not return to this location.

The day we went, we were looking for sandwiches to eat. Seeing the active smoker outside, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was BBQ Day! We ordered Georgia Peach Sweet Tea, Blackberry Mango Iced Tea, Cherry Cashew Coleslaw, Alabama Style Potato Salad, cornbread, 1/2 lb brisket and 1/2 lb pulled beef shoulder. The drinks were refreshing, the sides were so good I ordered more to go, and the meats were very tender & juicy. There was also a side of complimentary pickles that came with the meats that were quite tasty! My only criticism was the cornbread, hubby liked it but I thought it was too dry. Looking at the containers, it doesn't look like a lot of meat but we did have some leftovers. I see that their menu varies so I need to check them out soon and try their other BBQ offerings. Find them in a trailer in front of Home Depot. There's picnic tables available for dining.

Everything was incredibly fresh: crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, onions, pickles, generous slices of ham and Swiss cheese, all piled onto a bagel baked fresh that morning. The Super Onion Bagel is my favorite because it's topped with red onions baked right into the bagel, giving it amazing flavor in every bite. What really sets this place apart isn't just the food--it's the hospitality. This is a family-run business, and they genuinely make you feel welcome every time you walk through the door. They remember their customers, greet everyone with a smile, and truly appreciate the people who support them. That's something you don't find everywhere. After more than a decade, the quality, freshness, and hospitality have remained consistently outstanding. Rancho Cordova is lucky to have this local gem. The place was very clean, and everybody I dealt with was very friendly and helpful. It's tucked into the back of the Shell station at Bradshaw and old Placerville, but believe me, these are *NOT* your typical "gas station sandwiches." they have a decent sized menu. You can order at the counter, but I went ahead and just use the self order screen. , I ordered the Italian, with Aioli, Pepperoni, Salami, Ham, Provolone, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Oregano, and their Vinaigrette. When you pay, you also enter your phone number so they will let you know when the sandwich is ready. They were busy, as it was lunchtime. Still the sandwich came quickly. I got the text that my sandwich was ready at the same time that they called my name. The sandwich was very good. I liked their aïoli and the vinaigrette, you could tell that they were good quality, meats, and the veggies were very fresh. They were very generous with the fillings. I had it on sourdough, and it was a very good quality sourdough as well. I ordered a small sandwich, and it was enough to fill me up. For what I got, the price was extremely reasonable. I would definitely come back. Thanks for the suggestion, yelp!

As someone who is bipolar and been homeless before, I always pass along my leftovers to one of the homeless that hangs out in the park. I came up to him today with a cup of tea, and he asked if I could get him a cup of coffee. I said sure, it's 2 dollars that I can spend on someone in a similar situation that I have been in myself before. I came out with a cup of coffee for him, he was standing by the bar down the street. He requested milk and sugar. I didn't want to touch the cup he was holding so I said okay. The girl at the register was happy to give me an extra cup for milk and sugar. I filled it and was cornered when I was exiting. She was fuming, flustered saying that refills aren't free. How dare I take free refills from the shop before. I apologetically expressed I can pay for a second cup of coffee. She didn't back down. She verbally berated me in front of EVERYONE and it was an awful experience. I've been homeless myself but I've never looked it. This is unacceptable behavior and very ableist. I will still come by, but I wanted to warn others that this place is very discriminatory against the disabled homeless population and I do not want to be a part of this kind of energy.
