I went with my wife and mother in law to Café Frankie's to celebrate her birthday. The restaurant itself is roomy and clean with good music being piped in. Following the disaster of my meal tonight that and the dessert may have been the only good parts. They gave out for starters a roasted garlic and a hummus which were good. We ordered two appetizers a eggplant parm and rice balls. The eggplant parm was terrible and had to be returned. The rice balls were bad but a nip better. I then had a house soup which was awful and had to be returned. I then ordered a chicken parm dinner which was tasteless and except for my wife's protests would have been returned. My wife and mother in laws dishes were better than mine.The dessert of limoncello cake was very good. Service was good and was always responsive. Dinner was rather expensive making the price to value ratio below average for this type of restaurant while portion size was about average. The restaurant is named after the talking parrot Frankie which we did not see. All in all this was poor experience and I may return back to order a pizza and see Frankie. read more

Interesting menu (deep fried lobster!!) which highlights quality ingredients and showcases a chef and kitchen staff who aren't just slinging food at their customers but actually give a damn about it. My mother has talked about this place for months so we went with family, including my 19 month old son. We went at 6:30. It's 9pm and we just left. Not only was the service beyond slow, the owner could care less and was even rude as we were leaving. I don't know where he thinks his restaurant is but some folding tables on a sidewalk in a strip mall does not warrant any kind of attitude. And the food was ok at best. Take this place off your list and go somewhere else. read more

My favorite part about this restaurant are the specials. The waitress brings out sample dishes of EVERY single special (and there are a lot!). Their porkchop special is fantastic. The bread is always straight out of the oven and they provide you with roasted garlic and hummus spreads to keep you busy while you wait. Took my friend there for her Birthday because she thinks this place is great... I actually read the reviews before we went and I have to confirm this place needs HELP!!!!!! They did not right!!! The was flavorless according to the people that purchased full dinners and the pizza was okay but, the waitress placed out pizza on a little table by the entrance to the BATHROOMS .... may i say EWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!! The food took over an hour and believe it or not the PIZZA (fastest item) too longer. The waitress never really apologized she gave excuses stating " they only have one chef" Well, if this place is going to survive they FIRE all the staff except the bus person and start over!!!!!!!!! I wish I could rate this place higher because we had excellent service from the staff. The ambiance and the aroma from the kitchen had our expectations rising but the food was just menza-menza. The highlight of the meal was definitely at the beginning - the bread was very crusty and authentic italian. The roasted garlic was a nice touch. The other spread was not good, I'm still unsure of what it was. The stuffed pepper appetizer was nice but then it was all downhill. I ordered the gnocchi bolognese. The gnocchi were fine, nice consistency and flavor but the sauce had a weird taste. The only thing I could think of was burnt maybe? My wife had the chilean sea bass (?) and the plate came out a mess. Sort of like on Chopped when they run out of time. The sea bass lacked flavor and the potatoes were cold. Maybe we caught them on a bad night? Thank goodness for the bread! read more

Ok 1st I'm a Jersey Girl so I know & love my Italian food.. I have to say I've been in Florida 15 years now & Cafe Frankie's is by far my favorite !!! Authentic & Top notch in service.. Pizza is pretty good. Wish the hours were better. The service and staff are extremely nice. I've never dined in ... Have done take out a dozen or more times. My favorite by far are the zeppoles!! You get freshly made zeps with powdered sugar in a bag and some dipping sauce in case you need to switch it up. They give you plenty !!! read more

The worst service possible! The servers are so rude that they instead of opening the door for the customer wait for the customer to open the door so they can walk in before them. If you're looking for average food, at best, with unfriendly service then this is the place to go. Not at all recommended! read more

Dear  Cafe Frankie's, I must tell you that last night's dinner at your place was the most disappointing dinner I've had in years.  My third visit with you in the last 1 1/2 years.    I came for the great calamari and caesar salad.  First the bread tasted stale, the pesto flavorless.  The calamari come out undercooked and was returned for a second chance.  The recipe has changed or was lost. It tasted so common.  The soup was also disappointment.  The sausage and potatoes and broccoli were in tasteless broth.  I hate to go on, but the clams and linguini was the crowning blow.   The overcooked pasta matched with the flavorless miniature  infant clams(each smaller than an M & M) in tasteless sauce really hit the spot.    I didn't send it back because my wife had already returned her weak and teriible chicken marsala which you did credit us for.  I felt bad for you.  The only good things were your pinot grigio and our waiter, Jusitin.     I hope you correct things as I hate for establishments to go out of business.   Maybe I'll be back sometime next year.  Sincerely  Jack English read more

How is it that out first total was $78 and buy when we asked you to separate the bill the total was still $78. Hits the spot! The food is better than most; the pizza is very good. The staff can be hit or miss at times. The woman who runs the place (I think an owner) is consistently good with her charm and service. They lack a regular bar, but they do have a small bar that overlooks the pizza prep area. Love their pizza! Have never dined in, we always pick up a large Arugula Lou and large pepperoni pizza for take out. The pizza is thin and crispy, with just the right amount of doughy-ness. Worth the extra money to support a local and not the mega Pizza Hut type places. read more

We have enjoyed this restaurant many times since we've been coming down to Boynton Beach. I realized I have never written a review, so it's time to change that now. My sisters and I went to Frankie's for dinner on Friday evening. No reservations made. Walked up shortly before 8:30. Being from Chicago of course we wanted a table outside. Not only did they honor our request, but they moved our table away from another one and essentially we had our own alfresco patio! The food is OUTSTANDING! I will get back to that. However, the staff is the BEST thing about this restaurant! To a person, everyone from the bus boys to the incredibly cheerful wait staff and the owner, all greet you as if you have come into their home! They are so happy you selected Frankie's to spend your money! Uncharacteristically, we all ordered the grilled salmon. Two of us split the dinner, willingly paid the $5.00 charge for sharing, but we both received the full dinner salad, and each half of our dinner was elegantly plated. A bottle of affordable wine accompanied our dinner. We were never rushed. We were checked on by many of the staff, but not annoyingly frequent. If you're wanting delicious food in a very warm, welcoming atmosphere, do yourself a favor and make a reservation at Frankie's. You won't be disappointed! read more

My boyfriend and I have ordered from Cafe Frankie's three times. The first time we ordered from here my boyfriend and I got the Chicken Parm and a full size cheese pizza for the $9 special they have Monday/Tues/Wed. Everything was great, except we wished the chicken parm came with a little more pasta. Other than that we were very satisfied! The second time we ordered from here we got a pepperoni/sausage pizza (it was okay but I'm not a fan of this kind of pizza anyways- the boyfriend wanted it) and also the Cedar wood baked calamari, which was delicious!! The other night we got another cheese pizza for the $9 deal, the Andrea's Bowties and the fried calamari. The pizza was little off that night.. the bottom was covered in flour, and there wasn't that much cheese, but, that was ok because the calamari was delicious and the Andrea's Bowties dish was AMAZING. SO GOOD. I couldn't stop eating it even when I was full. Based on my past experiences I will definitely order from Cafe Frankie's again. Best restaurant in Boynton Beach! Authentic and fresh Italian food! Various appetizers to choose from. Today we had had the special which was sausage and broccoli rabe in an egg roll with a balsamic glaze! Salad or soup comes with your meal. I enjoyed the veal parmigiana with spaghetti. Cooked perfectly! I had the homemade Italian cheesecake for dessert! Outstanding!! Service was very attentive and personable! Anthony does a great job!! We have enjoyed the food and service a number of times at Frankie's. Last night while clearing the table a staff member accidently tipped over a small picture of scolding hot water (for hot tea). The water hit my boyfriend's leg and burnt it. The staff member worked to quickly deal with the spilled water. There was no apology or question to make sure we were okay. We tried Cafe Frankie's last night and it was far better food than the typical fare. Pasta specials were presented on trays, we sampled home made ravioli which was splendid and a beef shank marinated and cooked for nine hour over Gnocchi which was excellent. Service was very pleasant. A small but good wine selection and excellent fresh desserts rounded out a great meal. We sat outside and even though it's a strip mall the proximity to the intracoastal helped improve the feel and fresh breeze. read more

Nice atmosphere but ... Wait staff act like they're all new, everybody's nervous and lots of mistakes. Was like no one new what they were doing. Pasta dishes are pricey. Meal which was just pasta took forever, an hour. I ordered spaghetti and I got linguini. I will say the meatballs are wonderful. If you have alot of time to waste then maybe this will do for you. We won't be back. If they don't improve they won't be in business to long. I gave it 2 stars and that was a gift. read more
