What a small but quaint breakfast spot in the St Johns county. We came in around 10:30 am and as patrons were leaving, and empty table was ours for the taking. We had our grand with us which was a treat. He ordered simple eggs and bacon. Wifey had alittle bit of this and a little bit of that. I had the number 5 including corn beef hash, french fries, scrambled eggs and rye toast! The back of the shirt said, "A place where everyone knows your name". I wanted to shout to the roof top, " I m Jerry!, and this is my wife Ramona and our grandson Nolan. We got the check and was off to the races. The owner was engaged in deep conversation so there was bo thank for coming needed. We will be back! Sorry IHOP and Dennys, Cafe Genovese has hit a bullseye withe Henriquez clan!

Wanna feel like you're back home in the NY come here. This is a real old fashioned breakfast place with the friendliest staff. The walls are adorned with Yankee, Giants and first responder pictures . Whenever we walk in we get treated like old friends. You want hash ? You want fried eggs? You can get it here & even more. They serve a great breakfast but also salads & lunch. This is a no frills get it like you want it place. They have a busy counter where the owner cook interacts with local folks about all that's going on in this busy & growing area. Great hot coffee with free refills too. Welcome home!

While traveling through the area, my wife and I stumbled across this little gem. The worst thing I can say is they are hidden in a small, out of the way little plaza. They should be in a much more prominent location so more people can discover this gem. Food was great, prices were good and staff was helpful and friendly.

We just stopped in around 11 on a Saturday. The place was completely full, so we had to eat at the counter as those were the only two open seats. Most of the diners were having breakfast, and everything looked good with large portions. We opted for lunch instead and had the phillychicken cheese steak and a burger. Both sandwiches were good. They were accompanied by onion rings, which were average. If we come back in the future, we will probably try the breakfast options

We've been wanting to try Cafe Genovese but unfortunately they are closed on Sundays! Finally we were able to visit then on a Friday lunch! One thing I noticed when we came in was that there was no sign outside to wear a mask. And true enough, nobody from the staff was wearing one. I think we were the only ones lol. I don't know about the other customers though since they were already eating. Now for the food! We ordered Grilled Chicken Philly with salad for the side and Bacon Cheeseburger with Onion Rings. Both meals were delicious! We especially loved the onion rings! It was crispy and not greasy, very good! There were more people coming in and seems to be regulars. Some of them wearing masks. Overall, we definitely enjoyed our food and we will still come back, but maybe after covid.

i must have passed by this industrial strip a million times on my way from Nocatee to 210/I95, and i never knew that there was an eatery in what looks like an industrial, car mechanic strip. This is truly a family owned vibe place that you would find in the heart of NYC or Chicago. mom is cooking while daughters and cousins wait and bus the tables. you can tell how good the food is by how incredibly packed this place is for breakfast/brunch on a Monday morning. Corned beef hash was cooked to perfection as i asked for it - extra crispy, along with the hash browns. everything was priced perfect at a steal. my only criticism (and the last star) would be for the pancake. ok, i'm a pancake snob, so sue me. i'm used to pancakes being uber fluffy with air - just a different preference comparing to Original Pancake House, or NYC. other than that, i found a new favorite breakfast place in town.

This is an awesome restaurant (Breakfast - Lunch only). Great locals place or if you're passing through located just off I-95 CR 210 East. Mario and Debra Genovese the owners will treat you like family and you'll leave as a friend

Even though we had a reservation, it didn't seem to make a difference. We waited about 15 minutes just to find a host or hostess to be seated. During that time, we saw several other groups leave because no one was available to greet or seat them. It wasn't the best first impression and definitely set the tone for the visit. Once we were seated, the food was excellent. You can really tell that everything is made from scratch, and the quality and freshness stood out. The Garlic Parmesan Brussels Sprouts, topped with garlic aioli and Parmesan cheese, were delicious and packed with flavor. I also ordered the Kale Caesar Salad with grilled chicken, which was fresh and well-balanced with house greens, Parmesan cheese, and Caesar vinaigrette. My little ones ordered the Crispy Southern Fried Chicken Fingers with fries, and they both really enjoyed their meals. Overall, the food was definitely the highlight of our visit, but the service and lack of organization upon arrival could use improvement. If they can address the front-of-house experience, it would make for a much better visit.

My server was attentive, knowledgeable, and seemed to have the perfect balance of checking in when needed while still giving me plenty of space to relax and enjoy my meal. The Eggs à la Orsay were a creative and elevated take on Eggs Benedict, featuring black truffles that added a rich, luxurious flavor without overpowering the dish. Paired with a mimosa, it made for a fantastic brunch experience. The real showstopper was dessert. The Black Forest Silk Pie, topped with toasted meringue, raspberry, and Bing cherries, was absolutely delicious--decadent yet beautifully balanced. My server also recommended a glass of cava to accompany it, and the bubbles were the perfect complement. Great food, outstanding service, and thoughtful recommendations made this a memorable brunch. A beautifully seared piece of chicken with crispy, golden skin, plated over what looked like creamy mashed potatoes, surrounded by a rich, glossy sauce. The chicken was juicy with that perfect crisp on the outside, and the sauce tied everything together in a way that felt indulgent but balanced. Calamari was prepared well and not too chewy. We shockingly each chose a salad: the bistro steak, the chop chop Asian, the goat cheese, and the salmon. Each one was incredible. Mine was the chop chop and I absolutely loved it! It was HUGE and you can bet I ate every single bite. Loved it!' We finished with the brownie topped with ice cream for the birthday girl, it was extremely tasty! Thanks again to Evan for making our night! He was a fantastic waiter! We made an early reservation since we saw they do Happy Hour 4PM to 5:00PM everyday so we had to get in on that. We walked and and were seated at our table. They made sure to let us know you can sit anywhere during Happy Hour and still get the specials where many restaurants limit it to a bar area. Rustica does a great job of Happy Hour. They have appetizers, cocktails, beer, Sake, wine, and even main course happy hour entrees too. I started off with a cocktail going for the Liliko Martini which I really enjoyed. I have really been into my Passion Fruit drinks lately. We of course had to get some of the Happy Hour appetizers too and we might have gone a little overboard but for sure worth it. We got: The Naan Bread Yellow Beet Salad Crispy Tofu Roasted Pork Belly Bao Crispy Pork and Shrimp Lumpia Japanese Style Fried Chicken These were a great way to start off dinner and not one of them were $8 or less. If I had to pick favorites the best was for sure the Roasted Pork Belly Bao. I think it might have been the best Pork Belly Bao I had ever had. I was a large thick piece of Pork Belly but it just melted you your mouth and had so much flavor. We also very much enjoyed the Crispy Pork and Shrimp Lumpia which were much bigger then expected. The Japanese Style Fried Chicken was great too and the BBQ Ranch took it to the next level. For my entree I went with the Basil Crusted Roasted Monkfish which came with Vietnamese Yellow Curry, Crispy Shrimp and veggies. The Monkfish was cooked perfectly. I had a great sear on it too which gave it a bit of a crunch. I know Monkfish can sometimes be intimidated people because it was pretty ugly looking but let me tell you if it's prepared like this you're going to love it. Some of the best fish I have had. The Vietnamese Yellow Curry paired very well with it too. Wasn't too heavy and didn't over power the fish but just added an extra boost of flavor. I know what you're thinking who could was possibly be hungry for dessert but it sounded good so we ordered the Thai Milk Tea Creme Brulee and the Yuzu Cheesecake. Both were light enough that we could still really enjoy them after all we had eaten. We really like that the Thai Milk Tea Creme Brulee also had bubble boba in it which we didn't expect. We had an amazing meal and for sure be coming back sooner rather then later.

This location has the Grumpy's name but does not have the Grumpy's taste and it RUINED my mother-daughter outing. Walking into the restaurant it has that welcome back feeling of being inside in a Grumpy's spot. The decor is modern farmhouse. The lollipop bouquet is the cutest and WARMEST invite into this spot. As all Grumpy's, the menu is full of American classics. My daughter and I had a short-stack. I couldn't resist adding the Roasted Turkey plate. My drink choice was hot chocolate. I knew something was OFF when I received the hot chocolate..."where's the chocolate drizzle? why does it taste like it's water based?" The waiter let me know it's the waiters choice on how it is served. *INSERT EYE ROLL* When the meal came it was easy to see the Turkey plate was MISSING items and looked like it had been sitting (I mean sitting gravy has look of non-movement). The waiter tried to COMFORT me by saying it was under a warm plate but after I questioned where were the cranberries and stuffing...she then responded with an OH! The Kitchen manager offered to bring out a different dish. Now for the pancake, at FIRST BITE my daughter says "I taste the batter" *insert the disappointed DEEP SIGH* The owner asked if he could remake our meals. Truthfully, this was the THIRD complaint so it was a big NO THANK YOU! He then offered to comp the hot chocolate and one of the meals. I boxed the turkey dinner just to get home and it to have the taste of excessive old oil. :-( smh! Not only did it make for an UNENJOYABLE outing with my daughter. It also made my hype about Grumpy's being the best place for brunch a complete LIE. I give them 1-star for being Grumpy's and 1-star for attempting to RESOLVE.
