Sausage and Peppers

This is the second time I've ordered a sausage and pepper hero and requested light sauce and fewer peppers. Unfortunately, the sandwich was overloaded with peppers and sauce, with very little sausage. I used to really enjoy Café Gia, but this has been disappointing and is making me lose interest. It feels like they give you what they want rather than what you actually order.

Terrible slice of pizza & a clearly not well done chicken roll. 40 minute pizza wait for this trash :)

Top 5 most incompetent pizza places I have EVER been too. You have a front end employee cursing at other employees and customers for their orders, the same idiot yells about "how customers are so stupid" but he must of been talking about himself because my CHICKEN ROLL & SINGLE SLICE OF PIZZA was sitting on the shelf for 40 minutes while I sat there patiently. I reminded them of my phone number 5 TIMES but the overgrown orange hair airhead nor the other incompetent employees didn't notice until again 40 minutes came & past, 3 rushes came and went. Not a single apology for THEIR moronic mistake & they threw the box at food at me. 13 dollars dragged into 40 minutes making it the biggest waste of time I have ever spent at a pizza parlor. At least a bad pizza place can keep track of what you order. Cafe Gias cannot hit the mark in even the most basic of customer service. Will never be returning to this sorry excuse of a pizzeria. Oh chicken roll is soggy at this point & I asked for it well done. This isn't well done and the pizza looks like GARBAGE. Thank you for the waste of time bozos!

Cafe Gia is a hometown classic for my hubby who grew up and lived just around the corner for most of his life. Although we've moved out of state in the last few years, Cafe Gia is one of our must-stop-spots while in town visiting family. We miss our New York pizza so much while we're away and Cafe Gia's pizza does the job to happily satisfy us. Offering both sit down and take out services, Cafe Gia has something for almost everyone. Their pizza and window display items boasts a wide variety of classic and specialty pizza, which offers a vast and unique selection for diners. Some of our favorite items are the pepperoni pinwheel, Chicken Marsala slice, chicken roll, a classic plain slice, their garlic knots (sooooo good), and their bruschetta (also to die for). These are just a few of the items we love at Cafe Gia because honestly, we haven't had a bad item yet from their to go display. Service is consistently friendly and efficient. Even at times we have come by when they've been busy, they do a great job of moving the line along with patience and a smile. There are several other establishments in the nearby radius serving a similar menu and fare, but Cafe Gia's tasty pizzas, speciality items, and service stand out for my husband and me. Looking forward to our next visit to enjoy another slice of "home" soon.

Easter Special Beef Braciola
Samantha C.

We came to Café Gia for our Easter Sunday dinner. This restaurant was picked out by other people in our family, and I'm not gonna lie I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews previously left here. I do have to say that overall we had a pleasant experience and I will definitely come back here again. It's nothing too fancy, a pizzeria with a nice dining area which is usually our scene anyway. But all in all we had a nice holiday as a family. Reservations were made by other family members and we were set up at a big table closer to the entrance to the right when you walk in. The long rectangular table fit us all very comfortably and we were able to see each other clearly. A round of drinks were ordered, mostly non-alcoholic and we also decided to start with a few appetizers. The bruschetta looked amazing and it tasted as amazing as it looked. Chunks of fresh tomato and onion where very tasty and placed on top of fresh mozzarella and a crisp piece of a baguette. We also decided to try their fried calamari as well and although not the best I've ever had it was good nonetheless. It wasn't rubbery, but I think it did lack a little bit of flavor. We were also brought out fresh baked pizza bread to start with as well. My son loved the bread and the bruschetta, and I could totally understand why. A paper insert was given with our menu that had Easter dinner specials on it. My eyes went straight to the Beef Braciola. I haven't had this in a very long time and no one can make it greater than my grandmother who has been gone for almost 10 years now. I knew I had to try it being that it was their special, and I'm a sucker for special. This came with a meatball as well as a bowl of linguine. I absolutely loved the size of the meatball as it was a perfect size to share with my son. The Braciola was very well-made. No egg like we would traditionally have with it, but very flavorful and very tender. Those are the two major components of this dish. We barely made a dent in any of our meals. The portion was great and we definitely have enough left over for lunch and dinner the next day. We decided to also stick around for dessert and some cannolis were had as well as a pistachio tartufo. The cannoli was outrageous. I don't remember last time I had a cannoli, but this one was definitely one of the better ones I've had in a long time. The tartufo was amazing, and cut into four equal parts perfect for sharing. I couldn't resist in ordering the Oreo cheesecake to go. Haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I'm sure it's just as delicious. Two things I want to note before I close out this review. One is that the service wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great. I understand we were a big group, but there weren't many people in this restaurant and at times it was hard to find someone to help us. It looked like a lot of the servers were hanging out in the back towards the bar, and I understand that was a holiday and it probably sucks to work on a holiday and I so very much appreciate them being there but if the staff checked in one or two more times it would've been a lot better. The second thing was there was no changing table in the women's bathroom. After grabbing all my supplies to do a diaper change, and waiting until someone came out of the bathroom I then noticed that I would not be able to change him there. We had to walk back through the restaurant and change him in the car outside. I was under the impression that this was a requirement for restaurants, and if it's not they should have a changing station regardless. If you have a dining room that allows children this should be a must.

Ceaser Caesar Salad

Overall this restaurant is fairly good. I came tonight and it was crowded Waiters and busboys were running around being attentive. The meal started with s pizza bread basket and the little pizzas were pretty good and tasty. I did ask for parmigiana cheese but was told they ran out. However, I ordered a Ceaser salad and Chicken Franchaise. I also ordered a side of angel hair pasta in the same sauce. The salad was fresh and tasty with pieces of Romano cheese and parmigiana. I asked to have the lettuce finely chopped and they obliged. The croutons were unfortunately stale and greasy, but I did enjoy the salad overall with the dressing on the side. After about 15 minutes the main dish came out. It was very good and fresh. The sauce was a bit thicker than I am used to but it was good and enjoyable. I usually do add parmigiana cheese but I didn't have to with this dish. The pasta was also tasty, but because of the thickness of the sauce, the pasta became a bit pasty. Overall, this is a nice restaurant and obviously very popular. I will definitely come again. The pricing was fair, I felt. There are two pricings. One for credit cards and one for cash, but I didn't feel grossly overcharged by using a credit card.

Wow it was the best enough to share

Only redeeming quality was the food was good. The chicken parm was to die for. The alfreso tortelini was average. Tortelini overcooked and mushy, and the alfredo sauce was clumpy. The tomato soup was great though. And the atmosphere was pleasant. Dim lighting, small bar area seats only 4. But pleasant aesthetics. Very mom and pop feel. Wish the service was better. One table had complained they been there 3 hours and still werent served their meal. They ended up taking it to go. And no it was not packed. There wwas only three tables seated.

The friendly waitress Grace promptly took our drink order and gave us time to review the menu. She brought a basket of delicious warm garlic knots and bread with both butter and olive oil balsamic dipping sauce. Let me start by saying I live in Ridge. This place is great if you are in a bind, but by no means…read moredo I go out of my way to get food here. It is more of a pizza place than an Italian restaurant. Although they have a wide selection of different types of pizza slices, they are are very generic. Out of all of them I believe the OG Grandma pizza is their best. They try to overdo it with all these crazy flavors but if they stuck to the basics (6-10) different pies they can really take the pizza to the next level. Same goes for the dining food, I take quality over quantity any day. Again, its not BAD, but it wouldn't be a place I take my friends/family from out of state for authentic pizza/Italian. Something worth noting. I had a bad experience the last time I went there which unfortunately made me decide not to come back. If you haven't herd of 'too good to go', google it, it will help with story. I called Alfredos a half hour before closing to order 1 plain pie. I got a bad vibe on the phone like I was inconveniencing them. I arrive 15 minutes later I didn't want to keep them waiting and my pie is just getting 'sent' (Placed in oven) so I know its got a solid 10-13 mins (average) So I wait and while I'm waiting I ask the clerk "Do you do too good to go?" because I noticed a significant about of leftover pizza in display case. He replies "No" I then asked "What do you do with all of this pizza at the end of the night?" He replied "We throw it out" I know for a fact based on experience that MOST pizza places either give it to staff to take it home, or will sell it all for a cheap price opposed to just wasting it in the trash. So I ask and the guy gave me a really hard time. I said "If you're not taking it home, can I pay you (offer cash or charge whatever's easier) I don't want it free" He then rushed my pie out of the oven and said "Have a good night!" It really rubbed me the wrong way, what a complete waste. Take the cash and pocket it, share it as a 'tip' I don't care. Why would you not want to make MORE money and make a customer happy? Between that the the unprofessional delivery drivers in street clothes eating behind the counter and touching everything with their bare hand I said I'm done wit this place.
