Get on this! :) The back restaurant section is really nice and currently under construction so right now all you will see is white walls, but the place is always beautifully decorated so I can't wait to see what's in store for this place. The lunch specials on Monday and Tuesday are really great. They also have a chicken night on Thursday evenings. I normally order a classic chicken Parm with a side of angel hair pasta. Pasta always cooked to perfection. Even the pizza is delicious if you just wanna go in for a quick slice. 4 stars because there's not much of a wine menu. If you ask what kind of wine they have they will just tell you Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon. No wine list. The taste of the food alone makes up for that though. read more

The selection of food was seriously something that over exceeded my expectations. I was able to try different types of pasta and their pizza and all were sooo delicious!! My favorite was the garlic knot pizza so cheesy and good. Their pasta bolognese topped with the ricotta was hands down the best pasta I have This night!! Cafe Gio is a jazzed up pizza place. Upon entering you can get pies and slices to go. The pizza end of it takes up maybe 1/6th of the available space with the rest given over to the sit down restaurant part. There are no reservations so you wait in line and get a table. The wait is worth it. The place is absolutely hopping with a load of happy diners munching away. The room is noisy and crowded - if you are looking for intimacy, this is not the place. If you are looking for excellent food at a great price - you found the right spot. It would appear that they have some sort of "special" night - every night. Thursday is chicken special night - with no less than 22 chicken dishes available. The regular menu has all of your usual Italian favorites and is quite comprehensive. Something for everyone is on that menu. The wines are middle of the road- not too terribly bad but nothing really decent. Service is great for the most part- the waitress was wonderful, the busser was like an automaton - no expression on his face of any kind even when we tried to flag him down for something... The service was amazing, although it wasn't terribly busy, we were constantly checked on: drinks refilled, dirty plates removed, napkins... you name it. We started off with 3 apps, excellent. The pizza here is excellent, especially the garlic knot pizza. It's a combination of pizza parlor and Italian restaurant. Booths by the counter allow you to enjoy your slices on premises. In the back is the restaurant seating and a small bakery section. I'm not as big of a fan of the Italian restaurant offerings. The entrées are ok. read more

this spot is absolutely incredible! came here this past week for a meal and i was genuinely impressed by everything i had! we had an amazing waitress (thank you jill!), the ambiance was great, and the food was incredible! great spot for date night, very warm colors, cute decor, nice lighting.. i thought it was beautiful. all of the staff was super attentive to us and made sure we had everything we need, including the free garlic knots that they kept bringing over! those were so tasty. we started off with the calamari picante - and i loved it! it wasnt too spicy at all - more like a sweet and spicy, and it was delicious! for our meals we got the stuffed rigatoni grimaldi (DELISH) and the pork chops calabrese (also incredible!) for dessert we tried the MIND BLOWING deep fried cannoli calzone - and i swear im still thinking about it. Okay pizzeria/ Italian restaurant in North Babylon. Started off with assorted appetizers of baked clams, calamari, fried zucchini, fried ravioli and stuffed mushrooms. I liked the fried zucchini but the baked clams came whole, not chopped. Ordered the chicken Marsala which was kind of shiny and looked more like teriyaki but it tasted okay. On a random pit stop for a quick bite my friends and I stopped by with our soccer team, so about 10 people or so. They were a welcoming bunch, friendly and helpful. It was still a bit early for a sunday crowd but their signature pies were being prepped. They have the traditional Italian menu along with an assortment of salads and pies. One of the coolest thing I saw and had to try was their fusion of garlic knots and pizza, a garlic knot circling and hovering over the pizza crust. OK no big deal still OK. but Last time I was there a glass of wine with the special was five dollars fifty cents. AMAZING EXPERIENCE! On March 6th I attended a luncheon after a funeral with a party of 25. Staff was incredible; above and beyond 'good service'. I had shrimp scampi & way too many of their delicious garlic knots. The food was so unbelievably great that I just had to ask for (my favorite) a Tiramisu to go before leaving. They didn't have any Tiramisu made but they whipped some up real quick for me (again, above & beyond great service). I try the tiramisu everywhere I go and this is by far THE BEST TIRAMISU I HAVE EVER HAD! Unfortunately for me I live in Huntington and will now have to drive all the way across Long Island (passing at least 50 pizzerias) to get back to my new favorite place Cafe Gio. First I couldn't find the full menu on their website then I asked the girl that answered the phone and she gave me the wrong information it's not Café Gio.com at Café Gio.net then called back and gave the order. The food was good at all, penne Ala vodka wasn't creamy enough and they put scallion over it which I've never heard of and it just doesn't taste right. The taste of the scallions overpowers everything else. The sauce was very watery. Not enough vodka for better taste. The chicken on top was okay. Over all the dish just didn't taste like penne ala vodka. At least the penne was perfectly cooked. But that's about it. Totally not worth the 30$, That's crazy i get it inflation but it's just pene ala vodka. I didn't even dine in. So there wasn't any type of waiter/waitress service. read more
