Cortado and a bag of beans.
Ka L.

The service is quick and the coffee is good. Not necessarily spectacularly but may be what's necessary for that busy corner. Ambience is could have a touch of character or grumpy... Cortado - perfect milk for the espresso Espresso - perfect balance for me though some might want a bit more acidity but u always prefer a bit more bitter and sweet

Highly recommended!

Best espresso drinks in Midtown! Cozy location, cool music, friendly service, and delicious cappuccinos. This place is the bomb!

Iced decaf cappuccino

An iced decaffeinated cappuccino. Just what I yearned for on this pleasant day. I don't normally like decaffeinated coffee but right now that is all I am allowed to take. Sudan made the cup of Java. The afternoons are usually busy with office personnel taking their coffee break. I am sitting here with hardly a soul about with enjoyable music from the playlist .

The only good thing about this Grumpy location is that it is inside of Grand Central Station so it is convenient to grab a coffee before getting your train. Whenever I stop in here which is not often at all I usually get a grumpy/ not so nice employee taking my order. The space is not that big and there are some seats to enjoy your coffee and pastries. I got an iced latte with regular milk. It was pretty milky which I am not a fan of, so I did not like it.

I'm absolutely obsessed with Cafe Grumpy. The coffee quality is amazing and the baristas are really talented. I got a hot latte and it was absolutely delicious and beautiful. They had an interesting menu and a cute shop. This is officially my favorite coffee shop thus far!

I came here during the middle of the day and I wanted to order the apple cider or the matcha cider but all were sold out. I was very disappointed and just got the Chai latte instead. I asked for something that had the least amount of caffeine in it and this is what was suggested. I felt like even though they said it was least amount it felt like a lot! I couldn't sleep that night as I am very sensitive to caffeine. Wish they had more drinks with no caffeine inside of it.

Iced americano w chocolate powder melted down

They have many different locations. I went to the grand central spot. They are really creative with the different coffee options. Service was OK, there was an experienced barista to make my ice Americano with chocolate. I believe guy behind the register was new. This is definitely a quick moving spot for the commuters. Good for speedy meet up. I will give them a try again and if you are rushing through Grand Central stop by.

Café grumpy has such a cute name. I was drawn here because I heard it was a women's owned business, and I absolutely love the name I found it tucked inside Rockefeller Center. We ordered our drinks, and they were made in a timely manner. I got a tea and my daughter got a kids hot chocolate. It was made quick and tasted lovely. The pricing hair is much more reasonable than any other big-name coffee shops in the area. The employees here we're very friendly and helpful. They also offer a couple of pastries if you are hungry. We had this twice while we were visiting.

A small hole in the wall coffee shop with some tea and light snacks in the corridors of Grand Central. They made me an iced black coffee instead of ice black tea but quickly fixed that. Low ceilings due to the building and some high seats to relax as you wait or drink.

Peppermint Mocha and Raspberry filled donut

Found this quaint little coffee shop on the way to a client! Love the ambiance; cozy and welcoming. The staff were pleasant and quick! Ordered the Raspberry-filled donut and their seasonal Peppermint Mocha! Deelish!

Iced vanilla latte

Good lattes, great service, and a cute vibe inside. The iced vanilla latte is good here and it's in a good location to grab something at work. No seating but that's okay!

BUT, my husband and I recently took a trip to Paris and I also love pain aux raisins. To our delight, Cafe Bilboquet has those too, so my friend and I each had a small coffee and a pain aux raisins. The pastry was as good as any that my husband and I had in Paris! I've also had lunch here with a couple of other friends in recent months. They have a good variety of pretty authentic French sandwiches and some quiches, eggs, etc. Not inexpensive, but the food is top-notch. You order at the counter, then move up to the cashier, tell them what your order is and pay for it. If you're lucky, as we were around 9:45 this morning, you'll get one of the little round tables where you can sit and chat and relax; in good weather there are some tables outside as well; a lovely boulangerie or patisserie experience!

Upon getting closer to the door, I learned it's part of Le Bilboquet restaurant on the same block. It wasn't too crowded when I visited on a Tuesday mid-afternoon. Every table except 1 was full, but most people were heading outside on such a beautiful day with their drinks and pastries. The cafe is very cute and French. They have so many pastries I couldn't decide, so I ordered a pain au chocolat and tea. They serve Harney & Sons teas. This is a lovely spot, and I'll return to try more.

We started with a bottle of the Alsace wine, which perfectly complemented our food and the Parisian vibe. I opted for the omelette with Gruyère which was delicious, although I found myself very full by the end, as it came with two sides. The fries were a must-have -- so crispy, salty & fresh. I'd recommend that at least one person at the table order them, but the portion is pretty generous. :) The service was nice, albeit a bit slow at times. However, the staff was friendly and the overall atmosphere is chill -- we weren't in a rush at all! Sitting at a booth in the back, we had the perfect atmosphere to relax and enjoy our meal, making for a lovely brunch with friends or family.

I always get almond croissants from coffee shops but wow this one has to be one of my favorites. The crunchy (sugar?) top coating and the filling were delectable. I got one of the seasonal spring drinks, called "Karl" which is a banana cold brew with cold foam. I don't even like cold brews since they tend to be super strong and pretty bitter, and banana can be a hit or miss, but I enjoyed the hell out of this drink. It was a bit sweet, which I like, and the cold brew itself had a banana flavor when I had just expected it to come from the cold foam. I didn't sit or stay inside as I had to go to work, but there are a few (maybe 5 I think?) chairs along a bar counter on the side. Plants in the window too which I love. The barista was nice and made the drinks quickly despite being there by herself early in the morning (or at least I didn't see another employee). I recommended this place to my coworkers and can't wait to go back and try the other drink options!

Theres a shared bar table along one wall with high top chairs and menu options at the counter + a chalkboard with seasonal drinks. I left with a Balthazar Bakery box with 4 items. The 2 Everything pastries were filled with what looked like spinach and cheese. Incredible when reheated, but I wish they were served warm. The cinnamon roll was good, but not standout. The pain au chocolat was tender and flaky. Some of the seasonal drinks, like the Grinch, looked really good and I'd come back to try one, but I likely wouldn't swing for a pastry this time.
