I've been going around the bay getting all kinds of hot chocolate this holiday season while I'm here. This one was my favorite so far (I've been to Timothy Adams, Snowman Hot Chocolate, and Bitter + Sweet over the past week)! I was excited to try this on Christmas morning, since it was one of the only few places open today. Most of the other ones I've had have been a bit too milky or artificial tasting, but this one struck a decent balance. Could still be a bit more chocolatey though. We also tried their honey toast, which was pretty good as well. The toast was lined with what I thought was whipped cream, but I think turned out to be more of a melted marshmallow type deal? In any case, I quite enjoyed it -- worth trying, though I probably wouldn't order again since it was so decadent. I'd probably split the small size with 2-4 people, depending on how much dessert you want to eat. Would def come back to try more stuff! read more

Cafe Lattea is washed up. Drinks are still not good. Used to be a good place to study or hang out but it's seriously lacking now. Wifi is so slow, I couldn't even load simple webpages without waiting a couple minutes each time. Music was loud tropical house. Staff just hangs out and talks in the back room. My drink wasn't announced as finished, I only got a text notification. Then when I went to pick it up, staff was missing. Do I just reach over the counter and grab it? Also, you order everything on a kiosk. You only order at the counter if you are paying in cash. But the kiosk auto populates a $2 tip. For a boba shop with no customer service? That's crazy. And I used to work at a boba shop so I'm usually willing to tip. I never thought any of the drinks stood out to me. But I ordered the tiramisu milk tea today and that really solidified it for me. oh my goodnessss where do i start. I love this place especially their popcorn chicken. the flavor and the juiciness of the chicken is so perfect and tender and yummy. This is great boba at a great price! I think the drinks here are not too sweet but they also allow for so many adjustments that you can tailor your drink to your preference. Not many places sell brick toast, and I was stoked when my friends took me here for my birthday! Loved how fresh the bread was. Almond ice cream was so good; unique flavor and didn't disappoint. Also like how flexible they are with swapping out one of your ice cream scoops. Fruit was fresh, lots of whipped cream (should have asked for no whip cuz I'm not a whip fan oops). They don't have indoor dining, unfortunately, which forced us to limit our options from getting decadent looking desserts to just standard snacks and boba. They have 2 self-serve kiosks, so that eases ordering. The fried chicken was good, nice amount of spicy and flavors along with crunchiness. The mango sorbet green tea was alright. The ice cream on top of the milk tea didn't add that much flavor to the tea... It's like Filipino halo halo with the only exception that you can't eat the ice cream :( The drink, overall, was okay. The Yelp pictures of desserts looks amazing but when we got there the menu was disappointing. We were not sure if we went to the right place as we couldn't find the desserts in the menu and looks more like a coffee shop. The menu just showed drinks more than the honey toasts that we were craving. Not many people eating desserts but more of drinking tea or coffee when we went at night. Thought more people would be getting desserts on a nice Friday evening with friends and family. We finally found the toast section so we order one to try since we drove all the way down from Redwood City to get dessert. So we gave it a try and it was pretty good when you take a bite. Cafe Lattea is a solid spot to come for dessert, and I often end up here after I eat a meal somewhere else and want something a little sweet. I've had the boba a few times. I like that they offer different tea options for many of their drinks, though I'm not the best with caffeine and often can't drink the tea if it's later in the day. I wouldn't say the actual quality of their tea is top-notch or anything, but I do appreciate the breadth of their add-ons for their drinks. I'm a big fan of their Gelato Honey Toasts. They come in two sizes, and I'd say their small one is good for like 2-3 people. The toasts are crispy, chewy and perfectly sweet. I really like the toppings - the matcha one with the fruit, red bean and chocolate drizzle is probably my favorite one. It's nice that you can order on the screens here, but I feel like orders do take a while to come out. I've been to this spot before for their TOAST BOX a while back and now they seem to have 2 options in terms of sizes small (for 2) and large (for 4). For the Black Sesame fans out there-- THEY got us. I'd suggest getting the large as it's more aesthetic! My friend took me around Cupertino to try out her favorite spots and this was one of them! It's located inside a pretty big shopping center off the main road, and with plenty of parking. Inside, I could see plenty of tables, so it seems like a great place to study. I ordered the starfall coffee, which seems to be drop coffee with a cream of some sort. It was really flavorful, with a bold flavor. The cream was a great touch, but I actually think it could have been a bit sweeter, and incorporated a vanilla flavor, since it seemed to be pretty bland. Overall, the drink was great, but I do think I'd go for an espresso drink next time. Otherwise, the service was great, and everyone who worked there was friendly! Best boba spot in South Bay period! I've been going to cafe lattea since I was in middle school and their drinks never disappoint. They have a LARGE menu with so many different options (including drinks, desserts, and snacks). I always get their strawberry mango green tea with boba and it's delicious! Their matcha is also really yummy. They have indoor seating which finally re opened, so you can do some work there. You can order in person at their kiosks or via the snackpass app which is also great. Staff are always friendly and the drinks are out pretty quick as well. Lots of parking in the parking lots to the left and right of the store. Overall, Lattea is a 10/10 for me. read more

Just visited for the first time on a weekend evening after dinner! There was no line and some open seating. We ordered at the kiosk. (If you're paying with cash, there's a note that says to pay at the register.) I decided to order the classic Pearl Milk Tea with 60% sweetness and regular ice. It was definitely on the less sweet side compared to other boba places, which is good! But as someone who normally likes sweet drinks, I'd probably even order my drink next time at 100% sweetness. My friend and I ordered the Matcha Affogato to share. This was a cup of vanilla ice cream topped with a concentrated matcha tea shot. Highly recommend if you love matcha flavor! Make sure to scoop from the bottom though to get the full flavor, because there's a ton of matcha at the bottom. Service was super quick and loved the ambiance! There were a few people inside studying while enjoying their drinks, and some people hanging out with friends and playing board games. There have been a few updates since my last review of Cafe Lattea, but my love for this place has not changed. The most noticeable update is that they've added two ordering screens at the front of the store, which use the Snackpass rewards system. I believe that you can still order with the staff directly, but it's nice to have the option of being antisocial sometimes. This also eliminates the $10 credit card minimum, so you can leave your cash at home. The most unfortunate update is that the prices seem to have increased by about $1 for all of the drinks. While this does mildly suck, the drinks from Cafe Lattea were already cheaper than most other boba places so the price increase just makes the drinks normal-priced. My usual oolong milk tea with coconut jelly is now $5.50 instead of $4.50. I'm not complaining. Lastly, they've added a small size option for the honey brick toast! The original size is now "large" and feeds 3-4 people while the new small size feeds 2 people (or 1 bread lover like me). This is a great addition since it makes it way more plausible to grab a honey toast for dessert without needing a whole gang of friends to help finish it. 100% would recommend checking out the smaller honey brick toast if the larger size seems a bit too intimidating. I can now also vouch for their peach oolong tea in addition to my usual oolong milk tea. It was amazing with 0% sugar. Their oolong is where it's at. read more

Cafe LaTTea is super popular amongst HS students! my daughter who is also a high school student, has been going here for over a year and consistently had delicious boba. She has tried every flavor and type! What I have found to be the most interesting is that they don't just serve Boba, they also have food. My daughter will go and buy their fried chicken even on weekends! I went in with her one time and found the place to be cute, clean and the staff kind. I love that HS kids have a place they can hang out. When I was growing up, we didn't have many options outside of our local McDonald's. Todays kids have quiet a few options, but Cafe LaTTea is like a safe haven for them. They feel comfortable and like they can hang out, without being rushed out. read more

LaTTea is such a staple for students at Cupertino High, especially when this was the only boba place around and there was nothing in Main Street yet. I came here numerous times for their boba milk tea, even when other boba stores opened nearby since it was a great place to hang out, the tea was pretty good quality, and it had cheaper prices. Today I came back after a while since it was one of the only boba stores actually open in the morning (11am, which is not that early). I got the Hazelnut Chocolate milk tea with honey boba, which I've gotten a few times before. After trying so many other places, their milk tea is honestly a 4/5. The milk tea itself was pretty good, aside from the fact that hazelnut chocolate is not a flavor I usually get. You can tell that the tea isn't as high quality as some other places. The boba itself had a nice chew, and you could taste some honey syrup, but when you chew into it, there wasn't much flavor to it. However, I have to give credit to LaTTea's positives. It has a big seating area that is great for studying or hanging out (though it doesn't have much outlets), and their brick toasts are great. I haven't had it in a while, but I used to get them to celebrate or comfort myself. It is a hefty size (though I've heard these are now "Large" and they have a smaller size), and could easily feed 2-3 people. The Silky Milk is great (and a great way to get more toppings). They also seem to have quite a bit of other desserts, but I haven't tried them. If you are just looking for the highest quality boba tea, you might want to skip this place, but if you're looking for desserts or a nice place to hang out too, LaTTea is a pretty great choice! read more

I have been going here ever since I was in middle school. I always remember their tea having this fresh taste that I have never gotten from any other boba shops. The tea taste is prominent as well which I enjoy. Sweetness level: this is the only tea shop where their 100% sweetness is not overwhelmingly sweet to me. At other boba shops I would normally go with their 25 -50% sweetness, but the 100% sweetness here is just right. That being said if you like regular 100% sweetness in your drinks I would go with 120% sweetness here. Rose oolong milk with 60% sweetness with grass jelly- 10/10: I would recommend this drink to people who want to try a floral milk tea, but are afraid of that perfume taste you often get with floral drinks. The rose is light and it pairs perfectly with the oolong tea. I don't normally opt for floral drinks but this is my go-to here. Oolong milk tea 60% sweetness with grass jelly - 10/10: I would recommend this to anyone looking for Cafe Lattea's original milk tea. Oolong flavor is fragrant and not overwhelmingly. Perfectly steeped tea and pairs well with grass jelly or boba. Silky milk with egg pudding - 7/10: this rating is from my cousin. He notes that it was expensive for what is was. Not worth the price. Strawberry yogurt green tea - 9/10: fruity and refreshing. Would recommend if you love yakult yogurt. I'm not the biggest fan of yakult, but I enjoyed this drink. I would describe this as a boba drink for the non-boba drinkers LOL Overall nice place to hang out with a good amount of seating.
