When I walked in, there seemed to be just one person trying to care of things, so the wait was a bit longer than ideal. However, a second server eventually appeared. They do have awesome happy hour deals which include drinks and food from Monday through Friday, 11am to 7pm. Overall, it has a good spot to grab a beer, sip a cocktail, and snack on some small bites. I tried the Grilled Chicken Sandwich, and the chicken was juicy. I also like all the peppers and the flavorfulness of the aioli.

May have given an extra star if it wasn't for the hair I found in the fish. Bummer!

Seasoned with so much flavor and it was paired with a beautiful sauce. The Rildok was exquisite. In my opinion -- I even told one of the servers, whom I now know is one of the owners, that the flavor profile reminded me of a cheeseburger, and it's my favorite new dish. The Himalayan Rice set was awesome. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The tingmo (like a bread) was soft and delicious, paired well with the chicken. The dal reminded me of my own homeland's dal. We've now been back here multiple times. My goal is to try the entire menu. The vegetable khoty momo was surprisingly my favorite, and I'm someone who loves meat. I've now had all the flavors and preparations of the momos, and you can't go wrong! This place is a gem. Their quality of food is top notch, and their actual aunties are in the back making this with so much love. I want everyone to try it. The owner and his staff are amazing and welcoming. They remembered me from my second visit, and that speaks volumes. They're all down to earth and it shows. The passion they have for their food and their kindness shines through. Parking: Can be rough depending on time of day.

This is the second time I'm saying this in the first four sentences, but these were amazing. First of all - they were huge! Way larger than normal tacos, these tortillas stretch across the plate. The outsides are perfectly crisped up - these are kind of a mix between a soft & hard shell taco, but incorporating the best of both worlds. The amount of oil used in the grilling is perfect. What really makes these though, is the fillings. The shrimp is unbelievable - first of all, its the largest shrimp I've ever seen inside a taco. I mentioned how large these tacos are, but the shrimp bursts out of the top like a xenomorph out of a chest; there's little containment to be had here. These shrimp are seasoned astoundingly, turning practically a dark red from the spices used. Oh yeah, and the juiciness is just perfect. They are so well cooked. The other outstanding part is the cheese. The Oaxacan cheese is special - it's some of the best cheese I've ever had on a taco. Hot, soft, and stretchy with a perfect level of melting, it adds a crazy amount of flavor to each bite. The other toppings are solid, but some more onions would've helped I think. Also, the dipping sauce used is around average, and unnecessary. This was kind of expensive for 3 tacos - coming in at $25 before tax and tip. It was a ton of food though. "WOW..... Owners who GET IT...And I mean REALLY GET IT" 5 of 5 stars A friend of mine who lives in the area suggested we go here for brunch on April 6th. The place was packed and NOW I know why. Both OWNERS get what it means to be in the restaurant business. The customer service was, what other restaurants should learn from these guys. From the time we walked in I felt as if they were waiting for us to just show up. They knew who was first in line and who was to be seated next. I noticed that people were even greeted by name. What the both owners did is what got my attention!! They touched ever table ( if you don't know what that means, go here and you will find out for yourself.) They even bused tables and wiped them down, it was not beneath them and they even help out by cleaning up a spill on the floor and they were not done cleaning the floor until it was dry. They took the 2 min test to the next level. They made time for small talk with just about table and everyone in the place....WOW. This is not some fine dining place or the Four Seasons as they wouldn't even come close to what these guys do or did. I hope you guys find time to read this or someone tells you about this review because this is a place that should give lessons to other restaurants/owners and staff on how to treat people (your customers). it is called Personal Touch. Cafe Luka never disappoints when I'm back in the city! I took my wife and kids for lunch yesterday and had a great experience! My 8 year old boy is always a nightmare when we go out, but not this time!!! The service was so quick and the food was so good, he behaved the best I could ever remember. One of the owners even brought him and his little sister a black and white cookie to share since they left their plates clean. He enjoyed it so much we even went back later that night! My wife and I didn't mind since there were so many things on the menu we wanted to try. The prices were competitive with other places in the area and I thought it was really clean. All around good! Always good to us and especially after long nights that we work my colleagues and I come in 2-3 weekly, they treat us right and with great fast service. The management is always on top of it with it be more coffee or in our case a little extra Mimosa topped off, they are good there! and to a review regarding a lost gift card these guys are as honest as they come because about a month ago one of my friends dropped a $ 100 bill he wrapped in his pocket and fell corner of booth, we came back 2 days later and the manager said I believe you dropped this not too may place would ever do that! Cafe Luka is simply one of the best restaurants on the upper east side of Manhattan that I had visited. If I could give a rating of 10 I would. The service was outstanding with all workers being polite and helpful. Also the restaurant was spotless from tables to bathrooms and everywhere in between. The food was some of the best I had on my NY visit. Being near the hospital district this restaurant is good for both visitors and locals. Best dining experience I've had in a long time. Early morning appointment at Cornel Weil and when I got out I wanted breakfast. My old place apparently got closed by the board of health (EEEKKKKKK!!!!) Never tried Luka until this morning, but friendly and quick wait staff got my order, got the coffee on the table and BINGO I am having a great breakfast. Eggs cold and overcooked, home fries awful, coffee really bad and the prices twice that of other good diners. i I also saw a roach on the floor. They even have covered seating along the side street, which kept us cool while giving me an excellent vantage point to supervise pedestrians, squirrels, and anyone carrying bacon. Dad went with the classic scrambled eggs and bacon. Guess which meal looked easier to "accidentally" share with the dog? Neither. Apparently both plates were under strict human protection.
