Excellent AUTHENTIC Portuguese food! Low-key atmosphere with a true Portuguese menu. Food was delicious and the portions were generous. The server gets bonus points for his recommendation of the bife a Micaelense....it did not disappoint with its savory molho (gravy). A hidden gem that made my difficult-to-please husband (because his mom is the best Portuguese cook!) and we will definitely return!

The food is good & plentiful. The service was good, our waitress was attentive and recommended dishes. We started with calamari its was good. I had a steak with round fries. My husband had shrimp Mozambique with pasta which he enjoyed.

Shrimp Mozambique/ creamy sauce and Shrimp Croquettes. Mozambique sauce is an excellent dipping sauce with any veggies and fries, SAVE IT !

Cafe Mimo has quickly become my go-to Portuguese restaurant. I have enjoyed their daily and "lmited-time special" dishes. I would like to add another " new favorite " that is also available as a "limited- time special" , Manny Branco Pork Chops. My wife and I started our night with Shrimp Croquettes and Shrimp Mozambique with creamy sauce for our appetizers. Both dishes are excellent and the croquettes are homemade. A crispy outer shell with fresh shrimp and a delicious creamy sauce inside. As a guest exclaimed that we introduced to the croquettes on a different night, " These are to die for!". A great start for our main course. My wife ordered the T- bone steak and I was overjoyed to find that the forementioned pork chops were still available. I do not regularly buy pork chops or chicken at ANY restaurant for a very important reason, " I do not enjoy dried out meat ". Period. But I felt adventurous one night and the pork chops were recommended so I took a " leap of faith". I am so glad that I did. The pork chops ( 2 to an order) are served in a tangy sauce with red peppers that are cooked to perfection ! Words cannot describe how delicious this dish is. My wife was very satisfied with her steak and we didn't waste any time devouring our meals. Once the plates were empty and our attentive waitress asked if we were having dessert, we have what has become our traditional dessert and the perfect compliment to our excellent meals, two Expresso Martinis. We have both become connoisseurs of these cocktails and I am not exaggerating when I state that Cafe Mimo has the best ! If you know, you know. I will continue to be a regular customer at this fine restaurant and I will let you know when I find my " new favorite" .

Pork Alantejana after two people had been served... huge portion!

Picked up takeout, food was delicious, huge portions. Pork alantejana was huge. Steak was cooked perfect. Will order again soon! Kale soup was still hot when I get home.

Being in New Bedford there are a multitude of good Portuguese restaurants. This being one of them. Located on 'the ave', there is usually always parking within one block of the area. The bar section is usually filled with loud Portuguese guys more than likely just out of work and arguing soccer but that just ups the authenticity, an I right? The food is great, at least on my experience. I almost always go with a steak because the sauce cannot be beat. I especially love coming here for a lunch of a steak sandwich with fries and a beer. Always good and very reasonably priced.

    Love mimos

First things first, the iced latte was exactly what I needed. As someone who runs on iced coffee year round, this one definitely hit the mark. I also tried a gluten free cookie that the owner personally recommended and it was delicious. Always appreciate when someone can point you in the right direction with gluten free options. The whole vibe of the cafe is cozy and welcoming with lots of cute places to sit, read and hang out for a while. Perfect for catching up with friends or opening a book and pretending you're in your "main character at a coffee shop" era. They also have smoothies, great snacks and a small selection of items from local artisans which makes it even more fun to browse while you're there. If I lived closer, this would absolutely be one of those spots I'd pop into regularly for a latte and a quiet moment. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the Fairhaven area.

The shop is super big with lots of cozy seating to sit and relax and enjoy the day. It's such a unique shop and I love their decor and the vibe. I love that they also have items for sale by local small businesses and do small pop events too. They have monthly specials that are always yummy and I cannot explain how good their fall donuts are. I def have dreams about them. The staff is super sweet and I always love talking to them. I cannot stress enough how you should check out this spot. Who doesn't love a place that gives back to animals?

The Painkiller is fantastic, especially if you add caramel. The Epic Vanilla Skooma is dangerously addictive - the flavor profile is incredible, and honestly nobody else in the area comes close. The Buzz is another excellent choice. The food is just as impressive. Their linguica and cheese rolls are leagues above the competition, and I'd put them alongside the very best around. I highly recommend ordering a regular cheese roll leveled up with egg, bacon, and their house-made hot sauce. If you enjoy a Portuguese style hot sauce, this combination is absolutely worth trying - you will not be disappointed. The peanut butter cookie is unreal; I genuinely wish I had the recipe. The baked goods are consistently excellent, and whenever they have a special, just order it. I've rarely been disappointed by anything they've made. I used to live nearby and honestly miss having this place around. Their pizzas deserve recognition too. They're some of my favorite bar style pizzas in the area. If you prefer an ultra thin pizza, you might lean toward Dipper Cafe, but it's hard to beat The Meatball Thing, the Thanksgiving pizza during the holidays, and many of their other specialty pies. The atmosphere adds even more to the experience. They have arcade style games you can play while you wait, and the music is always great. If you're into King Diamond or heavier music, you'll probably hear something you love. If you live nearby or are just passing through the area, don't skip The Nook. For me - and for everyone I've recommended it to - The Nook easily earns the title of best coffee shop in the area.

-ONE PARAGRAPH REVIEW-…read more The Nook has great coffee. The Nook has great food- not entrés but café stuff: sandwich rolls, focaccias, muffins, etc. The Nook has old school, retro vibes. It has rock music vibes. It has creative, inspirational vibes. It has quiet, read-a-book-in-the-nook vibes but also loud Donkey Kong-guitar riff-crunchin' vibes; depending on the time and the day. It's perhaps a tad too small inside, but that's what makes it a nook. Lots of hot and iced coffee options, food is quality over quantity: get their signature cheese or linguica roll as-is or "leveled up" to make it an egg sandwich because it's the best around. And their focaccias are made like a pizza and imo are better than their actual pizza! Ok that's a paragraph!

My only suggestion would be to serve it with a spoon so you can mix the cider into the Prosecco a little more. I ordered the Eggs Benedict Mozambique and it was really good. The flavors were amazing, although I do wish there was a little more sauce. My friend got the chouriço and cheese roll, split and toasted on the grill, and it looked just as good. We also grabbed two coffees to go and tried the pumpkin fluff special. Both coffees were delicious and honestly didn't even need any added sweetener. The restaurant itself is really cute and has a cozy feel. Parking isn't the easiest, so just be prepared for that. The bathrooms were okay, but I'd give them about a 3/5. Our waitress was very attentive in the beginning, and I think she could tell we were there to catch up and weren't in any rush, which I appreciated. There's also some outdoor seating, which looked really cute on the cobblestone street. It was wet and a little too early for us to sit outside, but I could definitely see myself enjoying it another time. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Tia Mariah and will be back to try more of the menu!
