Came here today in search of good Falafel and we found it. We ordered hummus appetizer with pita an appetizer falafel for the main dish I ordered the Falafel wrap and my husband ordered the salmon plate. Overall everything was very delicious and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that likes Mediterranean food that's healthy and there's vegetarian options which is great. The only downside is that it was a little expensive for what you get. The hummus appetizer really didn't come with enough pitas for them at a time if they gave us if I wouldn't know that would have ordered extra. read more

Terrible service! We came in 40+ minutes before closing on a Saturday night 1/13/18 and they informed us that they are only taking to go orders. Very weird, half of the tables in the restaurant were occupied and enjoying their dinner, not like it was slow, I'm pretty understanding. I guess they didn't want our business. We wouldn't be back. This place is great! I've had the chicken souvlaki and also the chicken kebab, and they've both been tasty. ALL the sides I've had have also been great, especially the greek salad - and I'm not even much of a salad guy! The vegetables in it are super fresh and the dressing isn't overpowering. The only thing is, it's pretty pricey, but then again, I suppose you get what you pay for. For 2 people, be prepared to spend about $30 for a regular meal, even more if you want appetizers and desserts and whatnot. read more

Returned to dine at the restaurant for Valentine dinner. Gave wife option of eating at our fav sushi spot or flemings steak dinner. The food was so good she couldn't wait to dine here again. Had the same plates kabobs very good even better when u eat them freshly made. Tried mediterranean fries, loved the spicy vinegar flavor. We ordered the falafels, tycoon sandwich (Greek burger on grilled sourdough) and beef souvlaki plate (diced beef cubes with onion and bell peppers) they have made to order Fresh Greek food with reasonable prices. This gem needs to replace the Mediterranean restaurant in downtown Claremont which is horrible. I'm surprised it isn't more busy during lunch because the food really is delicious. I got chicken kabobs with hummus, fattoush salad, and tzatziki as sides. First of all, the tzatziki is SO yummy! I wish the hummus didn't have such a thick consistency but it still tastes good especially with the oil in the middle. I don't know how they make their salad dressing but it was great. This place is actually really good! The portions are a bit small (especially the meat ratio) and the salads are a limp and sad, but other than that I'd have given them four stars for taste. Will be back if I'm ever in the area because the tart dressing on that salad was perfect! Gyro left a little to be desired, but still tasted good and fresh. read more

The food here was great! I really enjoyed Theo's Salad, and the baba ghanoush is really delicious too. The pita bread is super soft and warm, and pairs well with any of the entrees or sides. They are really generous with their portions of rice, too! The only issue I had is that they fudged up our order, so I ended up having to eat a side salad off of my sister's plate because they had apparently closed the kitchen by that time. The cashier was apologetic, and treated us really well after that. From the outside of this restaurant, you'd never be able to tell that they serve great mediterranean food here. Not wanting to cook on a Sunday afternoon, thought we'd give this place a shot, since so many high reviews. Unfortunately high reviews can be achieved by a very friendly staff and clean environment. We had the lamb special (sides of Baba Ghanoush & Hummus) and a gyro with mediterranean fries. To go please. To start off, when we got home and started to unpack the food, it was a little surprising to see just how small a dish the lamb special was. More like a lamb side dish and a couple small containers of sauce to go with it (Don't forget the pita bread, it was there too). Taste was decent of the lamb dish, but lacking in substance for sure. Onto the staple food of Mediterranean people the world over. Wa, wa, wa, for sure. The lamb was very thin sliced and used sparingly. Two maybe three slices of a lamb beef mix, smothered in oil drenched shredded lettuce, couple tomatoe pieces and a pickle or two. Where's the MEAT? All of this for $23 :/ Think we'll drive up central a mile more and go to Everest for their diner Mediterranean food from now on. read more

I've been in the mood for some Mediterranean so I decided to try out Cafe Moderno. If I could give them four and a half stars I would. It was a perfect little place for a quick bite. The establishment is small, but clean. The staff is kind and attentive. My boyfriend ordered a chicken and beef kabob combo. The order came with warm fresh pita bread, tzatziki, and two sides. He chose the basmati rice pilaf and hummus. I ordered the beef and lamb gyro with Mediterranean fries. Our meal arrived fairly quick. We tried a little bit of each other's meals and it was all really good and fresh. I was very pleased with the quality and quantity. We ended our pleasant lunch with an order of baklava. Wow! Our server told us it is made daily and I could tell. It was warm, flaky and sweet. I loved it! Over all it was a quick, delicious meal. I will definitely come back soon. read more

Usually Mediterranean places include hummus and pita bread with your plates but here if you wanted hummus it was considered ONE of your two sides. This was the biggest shortfall for me, otherwise I probably would have rated it 5 stars because the food was delicious. I chose hummus and vegetables, my husband chose cesar salad and hummus. The girl at the register named Nevaeh(got her name off the receipt) has no idea how to take orders and has an attitude and unwelcoming as you arrive . She will tell you what is included with the order and then tell you it's not included I had to figure out what was included and what wasn't so that i wouldn't order extra of anything... do i work there or you hun? .... ummm you have no idea what your doing . She couldn't even round up my change with the help of the register. At the time of my order there wasn't anyone else and yet took like 25 minutes for me to finally get my food.
