Bubble waffles - a huge disappointment! Not authentic at all. I am a huge fan of bubble waffles. I've had my fair share in Hong Kong. Not a lot of places in Seattle offer them, so I usually go out of my way to get some when I find a new spot. I saw one of the Yelp reviewers mentioned bubble waffles here, and I knew I had to come. First disappointment - it wasn't open at its specified hours. The sign outside said opens at 11am. I came at 12:30pm and IT WAS STILL CLOSED. They would've lost my business right then and there, but I was determined to give their bubble waffles a try. Made the effort to come back again at 3pm. Ordered the bubble waffle ($3.75). And.......it was a huge disappointment. Bubble waffles are meant to be crispy on the outside, half airy and chewy on the inside. A chewiness that resembles mochis. Here, the bubble waffles resembled a dense, sponge cake. Crumbly when you bite into it. No crispiness or mochi-like chewiness to speak of. Maybe I'll come back again for their snowflake shaved ice. But skip the bubble waffles - not worth the steep price for what you get. read more

It was my first time trying this place out while I was in the area for dinner. I was a little confused reading the menu on how to order a shaved ice, but the lady there helped out. I picked two flavors (mango and coconut) and she suggested adding some mochi. I loved it! I have gotten the shaved ice here a few times, so this review is on that. What I like is that it is not a water-based ice like a slurpee or sno-cone, but a milky ice that has a fluffy texture and melts in your mouth. You can also choose multiple flavors and toppings in one order. For milky shaved ice it was fairly mediocre, but that still makes it the best shaved ice on the ave. Also, I think it is very inconsistent. Some flavors, like coconut, are so watery it makes me think I am eating 80% water 20% milk. Strawberry, for example, had a much stronger flavor in the winter, which makes me assume that summer popularity may affect the quality. read more

I love this place! Not only are the desserts offered delicious and often hard to find at other places, the food is really good too! The food and atmosphere remind me of eating at home. I love their beef noodle soup, and their breakfast is good too for the relatively low prices. Having the hot milk tea with breakfast is amazing. Also, the lady working there is so nice! She once even gave us some fresh baguettes that she had bought that morning with our breakfasts. My only suggestion is to not come here if you are in a hurry. The pace is slow, but that just gives more time for catching up with friends in the quiet, cozy environment. read more

i don't normally like to leave bad reviews, but we came here one night specifically for the "shaved ice" and it was the worst shaved ice I've ever had in my entire life. from the photos, it appears to be the flaky, light snow ice that is so hard to find around here, but once we stuck our spoon in, we realized it was actually a sticky goopy mess - I can't even describe the texture! the mochi on top was not very chewy (almost a little hard) but at least the mango was sweet. I would definitely not recommend this place for shaved ice. I'm sure some of their other desserts are better....there were a lot of items on the menu. but we most likely will never be back to try them. read more

Don't be fooled by the name. This place has "real" food as well as wonderful desserts. I went with a group of seven colleagues for lunch. The food was consistently excellent. I ordered vegetarian even though there was no specific dish offered on the regular menu (other than the desserts) and they were very accommodating. Each of us also order dessert. The selection is amazing. I had the mango and sago, a dish of fresh mango, coconut milk, and tapioca. It was lovely. The service was a little slow, so don't go there if you are in a hurry. The people are very nice and didn't bat an eye when we requested seven separate checks. I'm ready to return to try more of their dishes. read more

Who knew there was a cute little Asian dessert place here, hidden on the ave? I got the sweet tofu, yam balls, and grass jelly (thanks to the other yelpers who took a picture of this)!! So, the yam balls weren't quite the consistency of that in Taiwan, but still pretty good and you can tell they make them! Also, the do hua (sweet tofu was good). My only criticism is that it was VERY sweet! I would ask for less sweetness to make it more authentically Asian. :) read more

My friend and I decided to eat some mango sago at late night, which takes around us few mins to walk to the store. It locates at ave, which is normally making us feel unsafe. A lot of homeless shouting near the store. However, it is not the reason why I choose to give it such a low score. The mango sago tastes really really bad. Although the owner of the store is quite nice to me, and be gentle and soft with my requirements. But the desserts are not worth a late night walking! We came after dinner and when we walked in, there was this really strong strange fish smell coming from the kitchen. You'd think that we'd get used to the smell after a couple minutes but that smell bothered us up until we left. Service isn't that great, not sure if it's expected for us to order from the cashier or to wait for the server to take our order from our table. Either way, we ordered desserts and our order came about 15 min later. We had the shaved ice (+1 extra topping of 龜苓膏）and bubble waffle. The amount of shaved ice given was pretty small and definitely not enough for two people to share (unless you're not a sweets person, in which case what are you doing here). The bubble waffle was a huge carb load and since it was after our dinner, we couldn't finish it. However between the two I preferred the shaved ice just because the waffle got bland after a couple bites. I prefer to have a bit of a change of flavor. This place has unreliable business hours, or maybe just Yelp not being updated. Apparently during the College break and the first month or two after the semester starts, they don't open until 2pm. And randomly they start close on Monday and Tuesday. On my recent visit, after some thought, I settled on strawberry - coconut shaved ice while my brother opted for a sweet rice dish. After ordering, we took our seats at one of the handful of small tables lining the wall. After a few minutes, our dishes were brought to us. I was shocked by the size of the shaved ice. In front of me was a heaping bowl of coconut-flavored ice topped with an equally large amount of light pink strawberry ice. It was topped with condensed milk, jelly and sliced fruit. It was delicious! When I visited O Dessert, it was fairly late in the evening and my brother and I were the only customers in the store. It was quiet and a lovely chance for us to talk while we enjoyed our desserts. The soups had no flavor, the noodles were over cooked and my meat balls were still a little frozen. The desserts were at least edible.
