Beautiful brunch spot in Topanga! The scenic views are calming and help you breakaway from the chaos of normal life. Mimi the restaurant cat was the cutest and made our brunch even better as she was napping right above my group of friends. It does get quite busy and packed on weekends I would highly recommend reservations. Overall the staff here are all so friendly and sweet! The iced coffee was tasty and quite enjoyed the food as well! Beautiful outdoor space that's a combination of peaceful and aesthetic. The bathrooms are located close to the shops on the right hand side. As for parking there is valet parking for a fee or you can park off to the side of the road!
Location is beautiful with a very natural and relaxing atmosphere. The indoor and outdoor décor is definitely the highlight of this restaurant. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. I ordered the $27 crispy chicken sandwich, and it was disappointing. I expected a crispy, crunchy chicken fillet, but it wasn't crispy at all. The fries were also very basic just salted. Overall, the ambiance is excellent, but the food is not.
Beautiful location for a bite. Service was wonderful. Some quirky interior decorations that made the experience feel cozy. I tried their pastramk sandwich and their 27 burger. Both dishes were filling and had good flavor. I will say for the price of a burger with fries ($33), pastrami Sandwich w/ fries ($27) plus 2 orders of their non-alcoholic lemonade ($6/each) including a tip came out to nearly $100 felt pretty steep! The burger was filling but nothing memorable. The pastrami sandwich...I've had better. The lemonades were good but not worth $6/ each and should have been brought to you in a glass cup for that price. Crossing Cafe on 27 off my list.
This is my second time visiting this place and the food certainly did not disappoint. The lobster roll was tasty and buttery, and my friend was satisfied with the pastrami sandwich. However, the drinks were bitter to our liking. The cafe sits on this hill with a beautiful view, recommend to make a reservation ahead of time.
I love the idea of a cafe being immersed in nature. A beautiful spot located in the Topanga canyon region. I ordered their French toast, deliciously sweet, paired along the Moroccan breakfast. All eyes were on the Moroccan breakfast as it comes in a big beautiful plate covered with a lid. I would say this was perfect sweet and savory pairing. Everything was delicious! I had to order their cucumber lemonade to top it off, as it was really hot! Amazing service, beautiful spot, and delicious food. The only thing to be aware is there are ants everywhere, which is to be expected as it is located in the mountains.
This place is such a gem!! It feels like a restaurant in a treehouse. So many areas for seating, every corner you turn it feel like there's more and more areas with tables. Perfect place to take out of towners too! You can look out onto scenic greenery, and it's just the perfect place to unwind. I ordered an iced matcha latte and it honestly wasn't the best. And I'm a huge matcha lover. For food, I got the disco club sandwich, without realizing it comes on glittery blue sourdough haha. It was definitely a fun one to look at and take pics of, but the flavor was just OK. Next time, I'd get something else. Definitely not inexpensive too, the sandwich was $27. But I feel like when you come here, you're paying for the vibe and ambiance. Also a bit annoying that they charge for parking knowing that it's such a popular spot, and it's also a tough street to park on. Don't come expecting incredible food but definitely come for the treehouse vibes! The service is good here too, quick! There's also a cute little boutique next door to check out.
I finally made it to Cafe on 27!! I have been seeing it all over instagram and I pass it every week driving the canyon. I have been wanting to visit for the last few years. Well I finally made it to this beautiful magical tree house vibe of a restaurant! I absolutely love the rustic charm of this place. They have it decorated so beautifully with amazing views. When we arrived it was pretty cold for the summer. So to warm up we all ordered lattes. I was pleasantly surprised with how tasty the chai and vanilla latte was. I almost wanted to order another one. The menu was a decent size with lots of options to choose from. What made it more difficult was, you can order breakfast, lunch, or dinner at any time. So my dilemma was what do I order at 9:30 in the morning. I ended up ordering the lobster eggs Benedict with the potato bravas. It was tasty and I loved the crispy seasoned potatoes. I probably wouldn't order again because I want to try more of the menu. I love trying many things and sharing so you can find your favorite dishes. I pointed out the crispy wispy chicken sandwich to my niece. It sounded delicious .... And it was!!! I made her give me a bite. And then our group also ordered the Tuscany toast with pesto and burrata and prosciutto. It was really good. Another shared dish was the Irish Mac Enchiz. It was really flavorful. It was served in a bread bowl. I'm glad we shared this because it's definitely heavy being in the bread bowl. But it was really good with the Gouda, cheddar and pastrami. My friends also ordered different types of waffles and they both loved them. After a beautiful brunch we went and explored all the different terraces and views because it was too stunning not to! I can see myself going back a lot more now and bringing friends to experience this magical place. The only thing I don't like is dealing with the parking on the busy canyon road and how crowded this place can be. I will never visit on a weekend. It gets insane. And the only other downfall is the hour and a half time limit. I'm driving far to come have a leisurely lunch. I don't want to be rushed out. I want to enjoy my time here.
Probably the most picturesque place I've been to while enjoying a meal (or a treat and a drink) I've ever had in the Los Angeles area. I came in on a Sunday almost a closing and I was by myself. I also had eaten lunch. So my experience here was really just for dessert and a caffeinated beverage. I was seated relatively quickly and the was approached by one of the most friendly waitstaff folks. And since I was alone, I was able to sit along one of the outward facing counters with wonderful view. The ambiance was top notch. I took advantage of a deal they had where if you buy a bag of the coffee beans (I make a lot of my own coffee at home anyway), you get one of the coffee/tea drinks for free! I also ordered a slice of the orange cake based on a rec from my waitress as my treat. Enjoying the slice and beverage by myself really allowed me to just soak in the entire experience and it was a great one. Would definitely love to comeback and try their menu items. I just live pretty far away so I'll have to wait until I visit one of my friends who lives relatively close by. Because of the popularity and the tight, winding road parking nearby can be tricky. They have valet for a fee. I was lucky because since they were closing soon there was a spot in the lot that was out of the valet zone I was able to grab. You can park along the road depending on the space as well if you are willing to do a bit of walking
Cafe on 27 in Topanga had good food photos online, but mixed reviews. Knowing this, we came for views, and looking back, that's the best reason for a visit. Our wait for weekend brunch was over an hour, but the outdoor seating overlooking the canyon made it worthwhile. It was beautiful and green, especially with a chilly spring fog hanging over the canyon. The food, though, was mediocre. Prices were also high. My eggs Benedict had a heavy, cheese-like hollandaise, all of the fat apparently but little of its traditional buttery richness. The breakfast potatoes were greasy and had a reheated taste. My friend enjoyed her avocado toast, so that may be a better order. The staff is friendly and they work together. Cafe 27 is in a beautiful, natural setting, and coming here is all about that view, so be sure to get a seat next to the canyon.
We decided to go here because we passed by this place on our way to Pepperdine University. We saw that there we lots of cars parked along the road and around the cafe and thought this place must have good reviews. Sure enough, we looked it up on yelp and of course, the reviews we good. We made reservations at 9am (7/20/26). Definitely, the place has a great atmosphere; a combination of an old town feel with the outdoors and a nice view of the mountains. Love the ambiance and the vibe and of the place. We were the first ones to be seated. They definitely have good coffee and my wife ordered chai latte. We ordered smoke salmon Benedict, waffle with chocolate and espresso coffee whipping cream, and some kind of toast. It took a little while for our food to come out. Sadly, the waffle was cold and the smoked salmon Benedict-the eggs was overcooked that did have the flowy yolk coming out...there was supposed to be capers but barely any which is key ingredient that would make this Benedict come together. But I can tell from assembling the salmon Benedict job was poorly done...I know it's a busy restaurant, but putting in the extra touches and extra effort can make this dish enjoyable not only to the eye but also forking it and enjoying every bite. But was lacking in this Benedict, was the capers and the muffin was tough to the point where sawing through the muffin I was worried that the butter knife could scratch the plate and I end up consuming the residue. With that said, I did not enjoy my salmon Benedict and it's not worth $33. It could if it was nicely put together with a nice portions of the ingredients that makes up this Benedict...eggs was over-poached and like eating boiled egg...barely had any hollandaise sauce and part of the hollandaise sauce was in the ketchup cup, there was barely any capers, too much greens, and salmon should be laid out nicely and not treated like a pastrami sandwich. The only good thing about this Benedict was the potatoes. I would suggest to the chef, this is the most expensive item on the menu, take the time and put in the effort to make it good: laid out the salmon nicely, not too much greens, needs a good amount of capers with a good amount of hollandaise sauce and the egg needs to be poached the right way...you do all of the above right, then this Benedict is worth $33. Now, the waffle was disappointing because it seemed like it was sitting in the kitchen too long...was cold and soggy. Toast that we ordered, was okay. Also, I know it's a business, but I thought paying $9 for parking is a turnoff. When you have a restaurant, parking should be free...when we left, there was a lot of cars parked on the side of the road while there was parking space right out side and of the restaurant and I think people were avoiding paying the parking fee/valet. Personally, I would not come back here. Great table service but the food was not the business this morning. Great atmosphere though.
Went here with my wife for brunch/lunch for our 35th Wedding anniversary, nice rustic decor and really beautiful view and I don't mean just my wife. The food was good and had a nice iced latte. Service was great and everything seemed to come out fast. I had a great Salmon plate and my wife had a steak stroganoff. We finished with a slice of Dubai Chocolate Cake. Parking is convenient and Valet is available. Definitely worth another visit.
Went here for my birthday breakfast with friends last Monday. Had reservations so we were seated right away, there were 3 of us so we were seated next to this water fall feature. It wasn't that hot yet when we arrived and it was gloomy that day so being outside wasn't an issue. The good - if you're into views and like eating outdoors in a good LA weather go for it. The bad?? -- The food is secondary to places like this. So I don't have high expectations- my lobster eggs Benedict is mediocre. The lobster was shredded and not full pieces. My 2 friends both ordered the steak and eggs and one of them needed to be redone because she ordered the chimichurri on the side and it was placed on top. It's important to know, when ordering steak and eggs in places like this, the type of steak you're getting. They used tenderloin. The chimichurri was more lemony. The potatoes didn't have enough seasoning. Valet is $10, but we saw a lot of other customers parked across the street.
Celebrated a birthday breakfast here on a typical Monday, we had no reservation but was seated right away. Place is like a tree house with a good nature view. Our server is nice and even offered a free birthday dessert. Food is great but similar to most breakfast, no specialty in menus. The one hour drive is okay but not really worth it, plenty of parking in the street. Overall, I wouldn't comeback for the far location and no specialty in the menus.

If you want to come during the weekend you should really make a reservation. The website clearly recommends that you should make reservations as well for weekends. We had a reservation and our table was ready right on time! I understand why it's so busy, this is truly a one-of-a-kind ambience and definitely worth a visit to come here! The kofta tajin was delicious nothing overwhelming with the sauce in the eggs but the meatballs themselves were great. The spices were on point and cooked perfectly! Sandwich was my favorite! The meat melted in your mouth and full of flavor. Get the iced chai latte you will not be disappointed. My only regret was not saving room for dessert. Keep in mind that this place is parking is really limited so be ready to pay valet . It is not the easiest place to walk through, something to consider if you have any mobility issues. I would suggest calling and making sure they have a table that is easier to get to. read more

What a gem! I visited Café on 27 on their opening day and it instantly became a favorite. My server was attentive and kind, even as the staff balanced the busy energy of their first day back in rhythm. I ordered the eggs Benedict, which was perfectly done--rich, flavorful, and satisfying. Always love coming here. The only reason I'm giving four stars is because whenever I ordered the cauliflower pizza there was too much oil on it and it made my stomach really upset afterwards. But everything was good. Very good service and I love that they have a restaurant cat there. That's always the highlight of restaurants is whenever they have their own pet. I could sit there all day with my Italian macchiato & take in the views and I'm sure you will too so I want to make sure you're aware that there is a 90 minute max when you're there! My girlfriend and I made reservations on Dec. 31 to come for a New Years brunch. It was raining a lot, and Peyman had shared his concerns about our experience and safety. Since we live close by, driving to the cafe was no issue, but it was heart-warming to see that the staff cares so deeply about their customers. As the cafe is mainly outdoors, they took every possible step to ensure that their guests were comfortable in the rain. Umbrellas, tarps, and heaters were provided and everything remained dry and warm. Looking over topanga was peaceful and calming during the rain! Our server was a gracious, kind, and attentive lady. She helped us with whatever we needed and even took some adorable photos for us! The food was absolutely stunning and delicious, as well as the ambiance. One of the best parts was Mimi! A wonderful cat they "adopted." She roams around and sleeps and loves pets and attention... lol. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone :)) read more

This place and its staff offered the most magical experience possible for my birthday breakfast. It was so gorgeous and the food was tasty and the people were incredibly kind!! I accidentally dropped my AirPods off the edge of the table onto the garden side while I was trying to take a to take snaps of the view (I know, my fault), and the staff not only helped me hop over and look for it, they ended up finding it for me and giving me a ring about 20 minutes later. Saved me an extra $100 on a new pair, which I felt very lucky about on today of all days. Just a truly wonderful place. Thank you times a million!!! Bonus: you might be able to spot the resident cat, Mimi (I think was her name!!). read more

This place popped up as I was searching for a place to have breakfast at as we made our way from LAX to Ojai. This was a little out of the way in Topanga Canyon but 100% worth the detour! This outdoor cafe is a few stories and offers beautiful views of Topanga Canyon! When we pulled up, there was about a 5-10 minute wait for a table. They have a little shop right there so we entertained ourselves by looking around while we waited. We got lucky enough to get a spot after a few minutes over looking the canyon and the weather was perfect. We ordered coffee and a chai latte to start. Both were delicious! For our entrees my boyfriend and I ordered the pastrami paradise sandwich and the axellente omelet. Both dishes were generous portions, made fresh, and tasted delicious. The homemade sourdough bread was AMAZING. I could have just kept eating the bread alone. The pastrami sandwich I think was a bit too heavy for me for a morning meal, but the taste was delicious nonetheless. Service was attentive and fast so we were able to get in and out within an hour. Definitely recommend this place if you are in the area! read more

Beautiful restaurant in Topanga that serves breakfast/brunch with an incredible view! If you're lucky enough to be seated by the edge then you can get a great view of the mountains, but if not you still get a gorgeous canopy and outdoor patio vibe. The food here is not your typical brunch fare either -- lots of interesting and unique options, both sweet and savory. We opted for the tahdig benedict (pastrami, poached eggs, over a crispy rice waffle) and the kofta tagine (3 eggs, baguette, tomato sauce, with kofta meatballs) and both were fantastic!! Definitely both on the savory salty and heavy side but the perfect meal after a long hike. Service was very friendly here and food came out fast, and although we didn't make a reservation, we were seated within 30 minutes. Would recommend making a res though as it got quite busy. The ambiance is incredible here and so is the food! A bit pricey but worth it at least once :) read more

Been hearing about this place for a while now and finally got to try it. The views while eating are a beauty, but if you're afraid of heights, recommend eating inside! So we ordered few different items and they were all real good, specifically the sweet potato fries and syrup that they use, sweet but not diabetic sweet. We were sat pretty fast and the waiters were quite friendly. Only thing I would change is maybe adding a few more items to the menu! Coffee was a bit overrated, not much flavor to the lattes, overall pretty good and I do recommended! read more

Cafe on 27 is always a treat. The menu has something for everyone. We had the classic eggs Benedict, and cauliflower veggie pizza. Both excellent. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. The view and ambiance are unmatched. We are thrilled that we live less than 20 minutes away. Lucky us. read more
Food is well prepared but menu is almost the same with some of the cafes around. The atmosphere is very unique though.. it is great place to bring your guest from other city or state. This is not a place to catch up with your friends or celebrate. There is 90-minute limit per table. They are busy and tables are always full. With that being said, this is not a quiet place. We were nicely asked by our server to leave as the next reservation already arrived. I may not come back just because I usually stay in a place more than 90 minutes, for business or meeting a friend. But our experience is awesome. Bathroom is shared for all genders. 2 cubicles side by side. That made me a little uncomfortable. read more

I found this hidden gem searching for a brunch spot, on the whim. I ordered the kofta tangine and it was delicious! Good food with a beautiful view, couldn't have asked for better! The prices are a bit steep but you have to take the location into consideration. You pay for the ambiance and location and it's a nice treat! read more

On paper, Cafe on 27 seems like a pretty good place for eating with a view since it's pretty much an outdoor restaurant with a bunch of trees everywhere. I think it's pretty overhyped for what it is as the view is just okay. When you drive along the 27, it's a pretty curvy road with a lot of trees along the side of it. The drive it self is fun but other people tend to drive very slow on it. It's like a canyon road I would say and it can get pretty nauseating if you're not used to that. So when you arrive you can either find parking on the street (which is very limited) or you can use their valet parking service. I don't like people touching my car so I typically just park the car myself and pay the valet fee and they allowed me to do that. So the restaurant is mostly outdoors and there are different types of seating. I would say there is no "bad seat" and for those that want the best view at the edge of restaurant it's not worth it. The coverings don't really cover that area so you get a lot of leaves falling into your food/eating area. It's also very close to the edge so if you knock something over or drop your phone, it's game over essentially. It's also like bar seating and it's very tight and narrow. I recommend a table. The restrooms are out by the valet parking and it's a bit confusing. It's not really distinguished between Men and Women and they seem gender neutral. The food itself is mediocre. There wasn't anything really wow about it except the price. They had a green juice smoothie for 15 dollars and it didn't taste like it was worth 15 dollars lol. Service is slow. I requested a cup of ice because they just leave a bottle of water on the table and it's not cold, and it wasn't until I was pretty much done eating is when I got my cup of ice. I came on a really hot day, like in the 90s and it doesn't feel hot. There's a good breeze that passes by and it's mostly shaded. Overall, not worth the hype and it's like a visit once and done kind of place. Driving on the 27 can be nauseating with all those twist and turns so I would be cautious about that. read more
Beautiful hidden paradise on the top of the hill , crispy fresh air mixed with lavender and wild flowers aroma . Great view and amazing and atmosphere. Food 5/5 fresh delicious homemade with great spices just perfect to give a great taste Service 5/5 our server was active , she came in right away to take our orders she was very nice and professional. I made a reservation I came with my husband, the owner created us with welcome and worm /big smile he told me that I will give you a special table specially for you we entered and the host showed us our table with professional manner . Café on 27 was really pretty , it's tucked right in the middle of the hills and surrounded by nature. The atmosphere feels peaceful and relaxing. The menu is diverse with great options for both breakfast and lunch. Food was good, service was okay, nothing special. Overall, I'd still recommend visiting for the views and outdoor vibe. read more
Excellent café with seven dollar valet parking or free parking along the Topanga Canyon Road. Ladies the bathroom is literally right by the entrance next to the shop I highly recommend to squeeze the lemon before you get seated because you could be seated pretty far down the canyon... The menu has a variety to choose from ranging from Drinx to Food and desserts. The pricing though is definitely comparable to a brunch place like Arden. Expensive!!! At least you get great views here. Steak and eggs are $38 and everything else is above $20. I went for the vegetarian omelette; the cheese that's in there goes really well with everything else!! Comes with a side of salad. I will definitely come here again and try a different view in and a different food item. Very very good service didn't even charge me when I ask for extra bread. The only reason this is not a five star review is due to the price. Not many people will pay more to come here just to have brunch. read more
Such a charming tree house restaurant. The views are amazing! Pretty busy restaurant but we only ended up waiting for about 20 min(not bad). They have some unique items on the menu and I decided to go out on a limb and try something new so I ordered the TAHDIG BENEDICT and let me tell you..:: it was amazing! Crunchy and savory and just superb. I also ordered a matcha drink and a turmeric drink and those were also both yummy. The service was good just a little slow. Seems like there was only one server for that whole section and also a couple of helpers but still took awhile to get someone for assistance. read more

Such an awesome spot in Topanga! Great the second time around as well. Street parking (really mountain parking) is a little sketch but they also valet. We came for a weekend brunch so it was quite busy! All outdoor patio space so it was dog friendly. All the staff was friendly and informative. Loved the energy and vibesI had the pastrami sandwich which was delicious! Would opt for the fries next time instead of the side salad (very basic if you into that). In the sandwich the house sauce has a perfect/sweet tangyness that complemented the meat well. Loved the big cutting board / rustic presentations. Look forward to next time! read more

Absolutely Magical Experience! I visited this lovely café to celebrate my friend's birthday, and everything exceeded our expectations. Tucked away along the scenic Route 27 in Topanga Canyon, the setting is straight out of a postcard -- surrounded by vibrant flowers, trees, and rolling hills that instantly put you at peace. The café is beautifully decorated with charming touches that make it feel warm, joyful, and connected to nature. Since we arrived a bit early for our reservation, we grabbed coffees and enjoyed them on the lower terrace overlooking the canyon -- an unforgettable start to our visit. For lunch, we ordered the Chef's Stroganoff, Neptune Salad, and Shrimp Scampi (yes, it's a pasta!). The Stroganoff was incredibly tender and perfectly paired with mushrooms and fries. The Neptune Salad was stunning -- fresh, colorful, and topped with a generous lobster. The Shrimp Scampi had a zing of fresh lemon and capers that made every bite delicious. The portions were surprisingly generous too! What truly made our experience exceptional was the hostess, Fannie (hope I'm spelling that right!). She was amazing -- warm, attentive, and made sure we got the best seat in the house. Her constant smile and hospitality elevated the whole experience. Of course, Tree House vibes was INCREDIBLE! Just love the details! Hands down our FAV was the Pastrami Paradise Sandwich! You can taste every layer. The pastrami was generous and had firm edges and tender and so flavorful and maybe a little sweet. It reminded me of thick cut bacon. The sauces and runny egg was the perfect compliment. Each bite was so satisfying. The steak hash was also a great compliment to the sandwich. The beef was distinctly chunky and tender and we deliciously combined the sauces between the two dishes. The churro chai pancake was okay and was a bit dry, it definitely needed extra sauce than what it came with. And I couldn't really taste the chai. We loved that it wasn't crowded when we got there on a Thursday 9:30a. HOWEVER, we didn't know if we could sit ourselves or wait. So we wandered in. Unfortunately, they seemed understaffed that morning and the one server found us wandering in. She seemed really stressed and maybe a little annoyed when she found us wandering. She was brief and just sat us at a convenient spot. It wasn't the most welcoming experience but we let it pass because it's early. Our second server slightly made up for it with his charm but it was still hard to get his attention when we needed service. And it didn't help that my Earl Grey Tea took too long to arrive, I didn't think it would take much to put a tea bag over hot water but I was almost done with my meal before it arrived. It's always a struggle to park there so we happily paid the valet was $7 to park for us. Plus they had some kind of construction going in their parking lot. read more

the place's ambiance is great and service too was awesome but i went here for breakfast a yr and a half ago and ordered the axellent omelette and thought it was ok, i came for lunch today and decided to try another breakfast item and also just thought it was ok, not really worth $27 imo read more

According to the hours on yelp, it says they're only open on Sundays. Is that accurate information or are they open throughout the week?
They are actually closed now until March for renovations, so I would wait to see what the new hours are then. They are very active on their IG, and update that often

Is friendly kids?
I have never seen children here, only couples or multiple friends. Would be careful walking as water fountain leaks everywhere making floor slimey & slippery when going down ramp

There is an app I believe on yelp called I believe open table something like that. I used it before not sure what day of week but they did have seats available for us when we arrived, Good Luck

Yes, you actually make your reservation through the restaurants website and they text you. That was my experience.
Does anyone else have hard time bookin reservations thru opentable even tho time slots were available?
Don't worry, we came on a Sunday morning with no reservation and we got a table within 10mins. It's bigger than you think with multiple decks.

They don't serve any alcohol, unfortunately, just health-conscious non-alcoholic drinks.

I don't see why not it's just a restaurant. I saw kids there that seemed happy.

Hi! They have a parking lot right there at the cafe with valets so im sure you can park right near front for handicap access. 👍🏻
