Apparently that is a difficult thing to do for 90%+ places I go to eat - and I go to a ton of places. So good job. We had a great time at brunch at Patachou! We have a gluten allergy and they did amazing making sure there was no contamination. They also have local bread made that is gluten free and using that for the cinnamon toast was delicious! The service was friendly even thought they were busy on a Saturday morning. Great service, great food and interesting dining rooms are what you find in any of the Cafe Patachou restaurants around town. This location is somewhat hidden, maybe only the locals know about it. The dining room is upscale. I was immediately greeted when I walked in. The restaurant is pretty loud but still inviting. Our server was fantastic. Didn't rush us, but was attentive and quite friendly. They have a self serve coffee bar in the back. I ordered the Cafe Cobb Patachou Salad. While the food was okay and the service good, this place is so overpriced!$! An egg sandwich and one piece of toast with salmon and some grass as well as almost $9 for fruit should not cost $52! Cafe Patachou is the perfect place to meet up with friends. The whole restaurant is filled with bright light and gives off a warm and cozy vibe. They have plenty of seating since they have an indoor/outdoor space with heaters as well. The food is always great here. I had the Patawich breakfast sandwich. It has sausage, cheese, and a pesto Mayo that was so good! It comes alone, though, so order a side if an English muffin sandwhich won't fill you up! The cinnamon toast is so good, but pretty buttery, so make sure you are in for a rich (almost) dessert when ordering! The best part about Patachou? 6 of us had brunch recently, and as usual it was fantastic! 4 had my favorite omelette, the Overachiever.I've had this omelette in many different locations of Patachou,and they are perfect every time. For a change, I had the chopped Cobb salad and it was equally delicious, huge and enough for me to take for home for dinner. Grandson had the make your own omelette, and it was stuffed full of his favorite ingredients. Several also had the cinnamon toast, which is a must have.great coffee bar where you can serve yourself from a variety of coffee. I really love all of Martha Hoovers restaurants, but this one at main and Hazel dell is my favorite. Its busy, but you can still carry on conversations. A real local gem in Carmel. I was here for a work meeting and enjoyed some great coffee and delicious food. I had the Cuban breakfast bowl with eggs on top and a side of cinnamon toast. Had lunch here on a Saturday. As expected, it was busy and there was a wait. We were seated inside after a 20-minute wait and our server was cordial. For lunch, we had the tuna salad sandwich on wheat with chips and a green goddess salad. All was fresh and tasty. I also enjoyed a lavender bubbly cocktail which I highly recommend. Had a great experience at Cafe Patachou this afternoon! I took the brunch route and ordered the Avocado Toast, and my friend ordered the BLT. We both were satisfied with our meals and both loved the bread! It was definitely busy when we were there, as to be expected on a Sunday afternoon. Our server wasn't super talkative or personable, but he was very efficient and brought us our food out quickly. First off: This location does not have outdoor seating as of this writing (and I'm writing during a cold-weather month). For the cold-weather months, they have turned their outdoor patio into an extension of their indoor restaurant by adding an enclosure. Think a sunroom with plastic windows. This means that you will not find outdoor seating here, no matter what they tell you on the phone when you call them to make sure they indeed have outdoor seating because you're living during a time when there's a pandemic, and you want to do the right thing by supporting local restaurants, but you also don't want to sit indoors breathing other people's exhalations. So no, no outdoor seating. You will not find it at this Cafe Patachou when it's cold. The people who work here seem to think an enclosed room constitutes outdoor seating, but it's not. Sorry. So. I came here thinking I would be able to enjoy a lunch outdoors in the brisk air, but I wasn't able to, and instead I took my food to go and ate my omelet in my car on my lap. It was fine; sometimes, you do what you have to do during the pandemic. My omelet was good, actually, for a lap omelet. I got the California, which came with sour cream, avocado and jalapeño specks in the egg. It could have used some spice or hot sauce or something, but it went nicely with the arugula salad that came on the side, as well as the cinnamon toast that I also ordered, because I was at Cafe Patachou and I had to get the sourdough cinnamon toast. My husband -- who came with me and had to listen to my rant about the bait-and-switch of the outdoor seating not actually being outdoor seating -- got the chicken salad sandwich, which he said was fine, but he really liked the potato chips. If you've been to any of the Cafe Patachou locations, you're familiar with the food and you don't need me to tell you what's what. But I feel like I need to sound the horn about the lack of outdoor seating here (despite the staff's delusional idea that they have outdoor seating), especially right now when so many people are looking for restaurants where they can eat outside. read more

I love eating here! My favorite thing is honestly the vegan multigrain bread. I decided to get a caramel macchiato this time and I am glad I did. It was strong and super tasty. The only complaint I have is the wait staff. Once we were seated we figured the server would be over in a few but he didn't come over with water until 10 mins or more. He took the drink order but we didn't see him for another 10mins or more. I know that coffee drinks can take a little longer then some but my friend didn't receive his orange juice until we were half way through the meal. The server never came back after the food was brought to the table. We saw him again when he had the bill. That's the only down side about this place. This place really has their act together. The wait is long on a busy Saturday - mid-morning - but for what we experienced, it was well worth it. While waiting we did order some coffees from their counter. Everyone around the table enjoyed their orders as they were all well-executed. For those interested in Covid-19 precautions seating was outside and fully covered(it was raining during our visit), and the servers all wore masks & gloves. I had brunch plans with friends and decided to arrive a few minutes early to put our name in (since they don't do reservations) but they were able to seat us right away on a Saturday morning. However, it was still busy and waitstaff was pretty slow to come around to take our orders, get our checks etc. we spent a while there just waiting on our checks. Which is okay, but don't expect to stop in for a quick brunch here. I started off with the hot chocolate. I'll be honest, it was the worst hot chocolate I've ever had. Half the cup was whipped cream and the hot coco was basically just lukewarm milk. It wasn't chocolately at all. But then I got the croissant French toast and it was to die for! Super delicious. Finding ourselves on the north side of Indy for a wedding, a plethora of options presented themselves for our final breakfast before heading home. Thankfully, our local friends pointed us toward Café Patachou. We were NOT disappointed in the least. Offering a wide variety of g free and vegan options, it is evident that Patachou prides itself on sustainable, earth-conscious products and delicious, healthy food. Unsure of where to begin, Debra walked us through the menu, and we went with her recommendations of the Cuban breakfast and the omelette of the day (with the most popular side: the cinnamon bread). The Cuban was perfectly seasoned, a smooth and filling blend of spicy and savory. The omelette of the day was delicious, filled with sausage, spinach and fresh tomatoes (the tomatoes were incredible). Also, the cinnamon bread was totally worthy of the acclaim it received from Debra: so so good. Finally, the coffee was really good, and there were several options that guests could select and refill at their leisure. Although I love the ambiance, friendliness of the staff, quick seating, and service, I feel like I keep ordering subpar dishes. The Cuban Breakfast is flavorful, but hardly any food for $13. The California Dreamer omelet is creative but NEEDS sriracha in order to have flavor. I guess you like what you like, and dislike what you don't. I do love the open coffee bar with rotating flavors. Today's was Banana Nut-- DELICIOUS! I am disappointed they do not have espresso lattes on the menu though (they do have chai)... I love the Cafe and I really like this location. I didn't realize until recently that you can get items here that you can't get at Keystone location. Hot delicious French Fries! And hamburger! With this knowledge I could actually get hubby to eat here at lunch! I love the chicken salad and I love the GF honey oat bread! They do sell loaves of it and chicken salad by the pound! Amazing to be able to enjoy it at home too! I had counter service on my most recent visit and it's fun to sit there because the staff is friendly. I don't mind eating alone but when you sit at the counter it feels even less isolated. Love that they also support one of my favorite charitable organizations in Indy, Second Helpings! Cafe Patachou is an Indy staple. If you live in or are visiting Indy and you don't come here at least once, you're wrong. I don't make the rules. My go-to order is the Cuban Breakfast. It's like lunch and breakfast all in one (also known as "brunch" to most), but way better than the overcooked scrambled eggs and floppy bacon you might get at most "brunch" places. The Cuban Breakfast is great because it hits all the right notes -- I LOVE the jalapeño pesto that comes with it. Creamy avocado, runny yolk, seasoned black beans and rice... I'm hungry just thinking about it. I also love their croissant French toast! You can't go wrong with their self serve drop coffee bar, or a "fancy" espresso drink. In the summer though, I love their iced black tea. Over all, Patachou is my old faithful. I know what I'm getting every time. It's dependable. The service is always prompt and friendly.
