This place used to be amazing but once it switched management it is not good anymore. Won't be going back

Went here for the first time today. Run-of-the-mill sandwich shop offering your standard "grind any of our 80 toppings into your froyo" option. No complaints. The food's a little pricey, but the staff was courteous, and they're generous with their froyo serving size. It's a decent enough place to sit and talk and people-watch. For me, this place earns its third star solely on the basis of the decor -- which, at first glance, is admittedly pretty shabby. But look up: They've painted airplanes on the ceiling, and the fans are the propellers. I guess I'm just a sucker for trompe-l'oeil, even if it's laughably half-assed. read more

One of my favorite stops for Frozen Yogurt!! They are incredibly quick and the number of toppings and flavors are incredible. I have had their salads which are also good. As noted in some other reviews, I find it best to call ahead and pick up - its just fast this way! read more

Cafe Podima had been my go-to place for a quick salad or wrap delivered to my door in the North End. Their salads are big, healthy (depending on how you order them) and delicious. I was ordering from them at least once a week until two horrible incidents. The first- a staple/piece of metal IN a piece of my chicken. I overlooked this and ordered again. The second - an actual stick/rotten piece of wood in my salad, maybe in my beets? I haven't been able to bring myself to order from them again, even though their food is delicious. read more

Gentleman was very polite and patient on the phone even 15 min before closing time when ordering! Was glad to Take the credit card info over the phone. Great service! Food got here very fast, driver brought it up to the 3rd floor without any hesitation. Food was nice and warm, and even brought my soda which almost everyone forgets. Was very impressed there dough for the calzone was awesome, crispy and Alfredo sauce was perfect! Great fries perfectly cooked. Asked for extra blue cheese and they gave me 3 of the 4oz containers. 7th September 2018: the prior evening, I woke with a craving for a meatball sandwich. It was 2 am and my craving went unfulfilled and therefore endured. Which brings us to suppertime, and my experience with this very fine establishment... The bread: perfectly toasted. The cheese: perfectly melted. The sauce: evenly distributed so as to flavor the meatballs, without resulting in a soggy log of a sandwich. Meatballs: tender and flavorful. It was a nearly perfect meatball submarine sandwich. I also ordered fries. They were not at the same standard, but they were good. I couldn't possibly reduce my rating because of the fries, though. Why? Because the sandwich deserved 6 stars and the order was 15 minutes early... Order from here; you won't regret it. read more

No one seems excited to see you walk in the door. There is an airplane ceiling fan, and that smell you get from small griddle based restaurants. There are a ton of tables, but you might wanna just find a lap cause they are that close. It reeks of laid back, casual, cheap, and easy...and that what I love about it. You gotta have their yogurt, which you can pretty much get any flavor (they even have Decaf coffee yogurt...what?) They have these incredible sandwiches named after the local sports teams that come uber stacked and dripping with Russian Dressing (amazing for the 'morning after'). But don't go without having their Chicken Teriyaki Wrap with orzo and green peppers. So simple, so BIG, and sooooo good. read more

This place was average. I tried a number of different sandwiches and none were terrible, but none were great, either. It was just average. Next time I'll have to try the frozen yogurt since it seems to be pretty popular. They're pretty fast with your order, which was why I kept going back mostly. I love this place. Classic Mediterranean Menu, with wonderful Dolmas, Falafel, and salads. the sandwhich and wrap menu is a little overwhelming, but once you find ones that work for you, its a no brainer. The double stuffed sandwhiches on Foccaccia are great, the Boston College is a perfect combo of very fine chicken salad on a beautifully toasted BLT. Beware toasted Foccaccia bread does cut your gums. Their mixed to order fro-yo can be confusing at first, but it always delights out of town guests!! Particularly in season is Graham Cracker, Cinnomn, and Chocolate chips. Like Smores in a cup! read more

I ordered from them off of DoorDash and they accepted my order of $45 and I was told that they had started making and that my dasher was on their way but about 5 minutes later I was informed that my order was cancelled because the restaurant was closed. I ordered my dinner around 845 and it was cancelled around 920 while they were supposed to be open. Not all that reliable. read more

Amazing calzones! The small calzone will fill you and a friend. The dough is very soft and stays doughy while the outside is crisp. Their menu is huge and they do free delivery. We live a few blocks away and the food is usually ready for pick up within 10 minutes maximum. I really enjoy having a pizza staple right here! read more

I REFUSE to go back to this place. I had one of the worst expiriences ever here. First I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with american cheese. It comes out with mozzarella cheese, I tell them there was a mix-up and they say "sorry but there is nothing we can do about it". So they refuse to cook me what I ordered so I just ordered another one with american cheese and threw the other one out. I get the second one.... THERE WAS A TOE NAIL in my sandwich.... perhaps it was a thumb nail... but it looked toe-ish to me... needless to say I showed it to them and they did NOTHING. Very rude people and VERY unsanitary! If you MUST go here, stick with the frozen yogurt. read more

Podima was my jam when I lived in Beacon Hill because it was 2 minutes from my place. There and Ma Soba of course.. before it became a Boston phenomenomnoenmom. Now, I go there every once in awhile when I'm in the area. Their cookies are really awesome, super large, but never really in stock. I never thought the guys there were mean, but they weren't the friendliest I guess (didn't really bother me enough to notice). The contents of the wraps are always good but they seem to be wrapped up in and endless shroud of pita. I picture this comical I Love Lucy type dude in the back unable to keep up with a pita maker (yeah I know those don't exist.. right?) and how he ends up cutting these HUGE pitas because he misses the regular sized marks. I usually have to peel off parts of the wrap whilst eating it because it's just too big. I've never gotten a sandwich so I don't know what the bread situation is. You'd think I would have switched over after the whole pita thing.. but I really like their wrap combinations and I know that they'd be so messy on bread. Your best bet is to take it to go. I've never had delivery, but the tables are small and unless you bring a piece of cardboard to bend and put under one of the legs, your table will wobble. read more

I found Cafe Podima through Seamless.com and have been a loyal customer now for over a year- its even one of my office's favorite. Its your standard pizza joint food however all ingredients are fresh and nothing they use tastes frozen. The staff is very responsive and receptive if you need to call to modify a order. I have never been to the location however every delivery comes on time and is made in relation to that time; as in your pizza is not baked an 1 hour before it is delivered. Portion sizes are large and I recommend any of the calzones or salads. The fro-yo is also a plus! read more

I'm so angry at this restaurant! They deserve ZERO STARS but that is not an option so one star, which is far more than they deserve! They were over an hour late on the delivery. I missed my appointment waiting around for this food. I called twice and they kept saying it was out for delivery for over 40 minutes. When it got here the food was cold. The bread was burnt. Had I reviewed this place a year ago, I may have given it 4 stars. However, today it's a 1-2 star sandwich shop. I'll spare you with how good this place used to be and just focus on the present. When I walked in, there was someone who had come back to return their sandwich because it was the wrong one. They sounded very annoyed and said they didn't want to wait for a new one, and just wanted their money back. I thought, how rude. However, after waiting a very long time for my sandwich and then getting home to find it was the wrong one too, I understand that guy's frustration. Having lived in Southie in the past we use to love a few staples from Amsterdam cafe. Mostly the frozen yogurt, lemon chicken rice and a few roll ups. Having moved to the West End we were in search of frozen yogurt and strolled upon this place. And who would have known, it's almost the same exact menu but the big difference is the friendly, amazingly fast service and the froyo was great. Yes it was at 7pm so less busy but our yogurts were handed to us in less than a minute from ordering! Can't wait to come back often! read more

Terrible, incredibly disrespectful service. Until today, I loved Cafe Podima, especially their frozen yogurt! So I convinced my boyfriend to order food from there today. We ordered through a third party. The order was late (by about 10 minutes) so we called the restaurant and asked for an update. It was a pleasant exchange. But then another 20 minutes goes by (it's now been a total of 75 minutes since ordered) so we call again and ask for another update. But we also say that as we ordered a hot sandwich and ice creams if the sandwich is cold or the ice creams melted we'll be seeking a refund. The person from the restaurant agrees to this. Again, he was accommodating and helpful. The food finally arrives 30 minutes late (90 min since the order was placed). The driver demands a thank you from my boyfriend (which my boyfriend wasn't going to give since the food was so late). We open the food and the ice cream is melted and the sandwich needs to be microwaved. I call the restaurant this time, since every other conversation has been pleasant so far I expect nothing different this time. The man who answers yells at me because of the exchange between the driver and my boyfriend. He tells me I'm not a decent person and that I value money over human experience all before he says I've pissed him off and hangs up on me. read more

I rate this up with, Sam LaGrassa's on Province St, Al's on State, Jackie's sub shop on Lincoln St and the former Hungry Traveler on court pl ....Jackie's has been closed since the mid 80's due to globalist expansion, the Hungry Traveler sold the rights to their name....This sandwich shop has great ingredients and very good service Its a take away place for me and has served me well over my time working downtown read more

I ordered from here today for lunch because I was strangely craving macaroni salad. Delivery was very fast. My total came to 15 dollars and some change. I gave the delivery guy a 20 and he was about to walk away with it without even offering me my change. I thought that was rude. He said he didn't have change on him. Luckily I had 16 dollars in my wallet and didn't really tip him. And to my disappointment, I got potato salad instead of macaroni. I called them up to tell them and the gentleman on the phone was nice and said that they should've called me to tell me they were out of macaroni. I was still pretty frustrated because now my day was ruined :( they did credit me 4 dollars for the salad, just hope that they really did. read more

A co-worker and I ordered take away from here yesterday. I ordered the Gyros plate.. big mistake. The gyros meat, while never an example of fine cuisine was at best grade-E (but edible). Imagine, flattened slim jims.. now imagine flattened slim jims that taste like gyros. There were 4 of these dried out, obviously pre-formed abominations placed on top of my cold, soggy, oven (cooked?) fries, (think 3rd grade lunch fries and you'll get the picture) of which, there was more than an ample amount. There was a salad made up of feta, lettuce and tomato, which wasn't bad, and the tasziki sauce was passable however.. no pita. They either forgot it in their haste to deliver it to us (remember it was ice cold), or it just doesn't come with the gyros plate.. I reckon they forgot. Needless to say, I'll never be ordering from this place again. read more

Thank you for delivering a hot fudge brownie sundae to me even though snow has been coming down so heavy I can't see out my window (or I wouldn't be able to see out it... if I really had one...). I've been CRAVING a hot fudge brownie sundae or at least something like icecream and chocolate... but I was entirely unwilling to go back out in the snow and sludge to walk a block. I am totally indebted to Cafe Podima for taking care of me despite the terrible weather. Food-wise, get the frozen yogurt. They will put basically anything you can dream up in it. They'll put cheesecake in it. They'll put every kind of candy bar in it, even almond joy... I don't know who would want that, but they will do it. They'll put ginger in it. They have frozen tofu too, I haven't tried it... but it's on the menu. The list of things they will put in your frozen yogurt is like a whole paragraph. It takes me about an hour to dream up just the right sugar and fat combination. I ordered a sandwich from there once, smoked salmon something... impossibly dry. Stick to the frozen yogurt. Also, no delivery fee! read more

Update on the ambiance factor: they recently renovated! Looks really nice. Still a casual place geared for takeout, but there are a few tables and bar stools. New digital menu is much easier to read, too. Food remains unchanged (read: delicious). read more

I almost hate to let the cat out of the bag on this gem. They've got great sandwiches, smoothies, an assortment of desserts, friendly service and free wifi. It's a really great place that you should check out. Just don't take my seat - it's the one by the drink fridge and I'll remove this review immediately if y'all start invading my turf. read more

Cafe Podima has the most delicious fro yo. After I had it at a friend's house for the first time, my roommate and I get it all the time, maybe a few times a week! My favorite is Vanilla with strawberries and granola, which are blended into the yogurt and not just thrown on top. I haven't tried their other food but the fro yo is unbeatable. read more

I stopped in here when I saw the felafel sign in the window and ordered one to go. When I got back to my office they gave me the wrong sandwich (lox and cream cheese). I called and they told me they would deliver me the correct one and be there in 10 minutes. 40 minutes later they delivered their version of a felafel. In the wrap there were chunks of green peppers, pickles, cucumbers, and red onion. Not how I like my felafel; I probably won't go back there for that again, but may try other sandwiches, salads or calzones. Their menu is prettty large and it is close to work. read more

After an hour, my food had not arrived, so I checked in and was told the driver was just "a few minutes" away. 15 minutes later, still no food, so I checked again and was told "5-8 minutes" max. 20 minutes later, still no food so I cancelled my order since it was now 3x the amount of time my original order was supposed to take.
