My wife and I went to Cafe Rae this morning for breakfast. We had been there once before and really enjoyed it. This morning was another great visit. I had an omelette with tomatoes, feta cheese and pesto sauce. I also ordered a single pancake on the side, just to check out how good their pancakes are. My wife got an omelette with mushrooms and other veggies. Both omelettes were huge and delicious! They came with thickly sliced bread (we selected rye) which was also very good , and impressive. Speaking of impressive, the pancake was huge! It filled the entire plate! It was also light and delicious - the kind of pancake where you don't even need syrup, because it had a slight sweetness. The menu prices seemed high, but I will probably get three meals out of the food I ordered. Our service was ok - not bad, but nothing special. The restaurant is small and very quaint, a nice change of pace from the many sterile looking breakfast places around. Cafe Rae is now my favorite breakfast spot in San Clemente!

Cafe Rae is a very hippie styled rock n roll cafe which I love its so fun to stare at the walls and imagine what those concerts sounded like back in the day and bla bla bla but I frickin love their breakfast and go here often will be back soon !!!!

If somewhere else on the planet has a better plate of huevos rancheros I haven't found it yet! Blueberry Pecan Coconut pancakes. ... you had me at blueberry :) ... come in midweek. You'll need to wait on the weekend for your brunch, but you'll be happy that you did.

Just moved in to the city of San Clemente from the famous and chaotic "city of Los Angeles " and found this cafe very close from where I live now. This is my spot , I would definitely come for breakfast whenever I get a chance .! Food was soo good I had the Eggs florentine . Coffee was perfect . Staff was very polite and efficient, (they could smile more ") I def recommend this place . Atmosphere is great the tables by the window are popular so good luck on your visit .

If you want a lot of food for accessible price this is the place to go. I could not even eat 1/2 of my mexi cali breakfast bowl $14 and hubby got eggs and bacon ... so there is more than the menu so ask because I discovered that after I ordered from the main menu. Would have been nice to know but I will next time ... got here around 10 am and we were the only ones when we left place was packed.

Chicken Pesto sandwich with green Taste good !!!!!

Cutest brunch spot EVER!! We randomly stumbled into this colorful little gem and I'm already planning my next visit. The vibe is so fun -- bright walls, tons of plants everywhere, and even a bubble machine floating through the air (yes, bubbles!!). Total serotonin boost The food? Incredible. We had the pancakes (peach + coconut) (Obsessed), turkey bacon, omelets, and coffee -- everything was cooked to perfection and so flavorful. The portions were generous and beautifully plated too. What really blew me away was the chef coming out to check on every table. He even explained how to reheat the pancakes to make them a dessert later -- which we totally did and it slapped. That kind of care and connection is rare these days. Such a feel-good, delicious experience from start to finish. 10/10 recommend if you love a quirky, wholesome spot with seriously amazing food!

First time here, loved the hippie vibe inside and the comfortable feel. It's not big, but there's quite a few seats and good for small families. They keep the door open which is nice, good air flow since there's no outdoor seating. Waitress was exceptional, so nice even though the poor thing was waiting on several tables with people coming in. Food is super tasty, I had the omelette and it was really good, one star off because I wish it came with potatoes...most breakfast places have an option of potatoes either hash-browns or roasted with your omelette and egg dishes. Would have rounded it out a bit better. Husbands breakfast bowl was okay, not as good as he hoped for, a little underwhelming for the price, he said he wished he got the omelette so next time, but other than that, experience was good and we'll be back for sure.

We happen to be in this area for my nephew's football game. I found this place on yelp and decided to check it out! I'm so glad we came here. This restaurant has a cool little vibe to it. I loved the hippy feel of it. The food was so good! Felt like I was in someone's home and they made us breakfast. We tried a little of everything. Breakfast croissant, sandwich, breakfast burrito, a pancake and basic eggs and toast With home fries. Their homemade salsa was so good! I could get enough of it! If I'm ever in the area again I would definitely come back here. And I would recommend this restaurant to my family and friends!

Wonderful French crepe cafe…read more The Mushroom and Spinach crepe, add bacon, was excellent. They essentially make a French folded omelette and then wrap a crepe around it and top it off with Bechamel sauce (kind of like Alfredo for those who don't know). Even though the menu doesn't mention the sauce, it comes with it. The Nutella Banana crepe was amazing with a generous amount of Nutella inside. Instead of having the chocolate drizzle on top, I wonder if they can do Nutella drizzle on top, in addition to the Nutella that's inside already. I highly recommend paying for the extra berries on top to keep it interesting. The side of nicely seasoned breakfast potatoes rounded out the meal. Be sure to ask for a side of ketchup! The menu was simple so we decided to stop, plus we needed outdoor seating for Cako. The young woman who was working was friendly and upbeat! Told us to grab whichever table we wanted. Even brought out water for Cako. I ordered the Frenchies sandwich, ham, salami, prosciutto, provolone and pesto! Very good! Scooter had the Jambon and fromage, which he said was perfect! Both sandwiches came with these seasoned crispy potatoes. The menu was small. But I'm sure they'll offer more. It is located in the beautiful historic town of San Juan Capistrano founded in 1776. The two-story red brick and wood building that the Restaurant occupy was constructed in 1883 and served not only as the town's courthouse which was Then presided by Judge Richard Egan. But it also served as Judge Egan's private residence on the second floor. Following years of vacancy, this building has undergone near total interior and exterior restoration, preserving its 1880s structure while converting it for commercial use. It is known as "Egan House". Years ago, prior to its restoration, i had the privilege of walking onto the front porch and peeking through the windows of this old courthouse as it was still vacant and, in its original interior state. Today. As i walked up these wooden stairs once again and onto the front Porch, i was immediately transported back in time. There is lots of free parking around the restaurant. The exterior has 2 outdoor dining areas. One on the side of the building and one along the narrow front porch baluster. The doors and tall windows look very similar. So i almost missed the front door if it wasn't for a printed sign that said "Entrance" next to the entry door. I must not be the only one :) The interior is charming and bright, and maintains its 19th century vintage character blended with modern and vintage decor. The walls are covered with Historical photographs. The indoor dining area is known as "Harmony Hall" There is also a small private dining area on the second floor. Great for a group or a celebration. There are 3 separate restrooms. 1 on the first floor and 2 on the 2nd floor. Not bad for an old building. You order first. Grab your number and find a table. As you stand in line, you'll find a free standing menu rack. I don't see this too often and i think that it's a great idea as that gives you time to look at the menu while waiting in line. As you make your way to the register, you walk along their display case that showcases all the pastries, cold sandwiches and food bar. I really like their menu. So many good dishes. And It offers something for everyone. I love that you can order any of the menu items all day. So, today, I had my breakfast at 2pm :) The menu is too long to describe. So, Please see photos for the complete 6 page menu. I ordered the Spanish Omelette, a peach ice tea with green tea. And for dessert i had a mixed berry crostata. I got my food in less than 10 min. The service was great. I did not realize that there was a self serve utensil and condiments station. So, my server was kind to get me some utensil and showed me where the utensil station was. The Spanish omelette has shredded machaca beef, peppers and onions. Topped with House Salsa, Cotija cheese, Crema and cilantro. I opted to leave out the Crema as i am not a big fan of sour cream. This was one of the best omelettes i have ever had. It was warm. The eggs were light and airy. It was packed with tender and tasty shredded beef. All of these ingredients combined with the delicious mild salsa, fresh cilantro and Cotija cheese paired incredibly well. It is a must have. The Mixed berry crostata had a soft crust on the outside. Moist on the inside with tons of berries partly melted into a marmelade. (I had them warm it up) It was not overly sweet at all which was great. The whole thing was lightly coated with powdered sugar. It was excellent. As for the Peach ice tea. Well it was just a good peach ice tea with green tea and light peach flavored syrup. It was refreshing. Great food. Generous portions. very reasonable prices and great service. Can't beat it. I highly recommend trying Ellie's Table.
