It is the cutest little cafe tucked inside a beautiful historic building. They have a great assortment of pastries, breakfast, and lunch items to choose from. I decided to try the Turkey Focaccia, and it was fantastic! The focaccia bread itself was super soft, and it came with a MOUND of perfectly thin shavings of turkey. I also got the chicken salad on the side, and I loved that they included huge grapes in it! It added the perfect little crunch and sweetness. This place is a total gem. If you're exploring the area, you absolutely have to stop by for a bite.

I really enjoyed my order of Shrimp tacos although I thought it was spicy but again really good 8/10. There are restrooms in the facility.

I've tried to say hello to see if there's a response and there is none. I think maybe the sensors are in need of maintenance. Please fix it because I've just driven off when this happens. Update: I went back 3/3/26 and sat at the drive thru waiting. Nobody answered so I figured the drive thru is closed. I go inside to order and I asked if the drive thru is closed. The baristas say it's open and "we saw you but we weren't sure if you were waiting to order from us or Hendels (next door ice cream shop)" but then why would I be waiting at better buzz to order from next door?!! then I hear them taking a drive thru order while I'm ordering at the counter. it's confirmed it's not the sensors that aren't picking up my car at the drive thru, I'm just being ignored. I'm very impressed by the biscuits and gravy. Some of the best gravy i've ever had. Very flavorful. Plus the Biscuits had a beautiful crisp on the edges so they never got soggy. One detail I admired was the chilled water glasses instead of using ice. This just leveled the experience up a few notches. I'm surprised how quickly we were seated considering it was a Saturday around 10 when we arrived. Well done! When my husband and I are back in SoCal we will be visiting again.

Atmosphere was pleasant, you get the nice breeze from the coast line. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Plan to wait in line around 30 minutes or so just to be safe, and plan for 5 to 10 minutes while you navigate the parking lot. Food was really good to be honest, we did enjoyed our meals, their coffees, and lattes! Definitely a worthwhile visit of you find yourself here around Dana Point!

It's on me that I didn't realize it was pre-fixe at $48/person on the weekends. So our party of 5 was outrageously expensive considering the fact that we ended up with way too much food and most of it was meh. For course 1, we got the beet and burrata salad, hush puppies, "salmon lox," beignets, and coffee cake. We could have been done after and would have had 1/2 the food leftover. The salmon lox was mild in taste, but nice. The beet salad was delicious, but would have been better with goat cheese. Hush puppies were good, but SO HEAVY. My kids had the beignets and coffee cake, which were served with a lot of syrup/sauce. Neither dish was finished and they were also SO HEAVY. For 2nd plates, we had the beef stew, flannel hash, crab hash, and 2 orders of the mac and cheese with duck confit and truffles. The flannel hash was outstanding. Everything else was meh. The beef stew was good, but the potatoes were unnecessary and there were bites of blue cheese that were disproportionately strong. The crab hash was not good even after adding salt and pepper. The egg portion of the dish was bad. The sweet potato crispies were overwhelming and ridiculous. And the large crab cakes were just totally lacking in flavor. The mac and cheese was also meh although it did reheat better the next day. But the portion of duck confit was light and I ended up with a large bone in my mouth when I had it as leftovers. I do not believe there were any truffles or even truffle oil in this dish, just mushrooms. In short, I would never go again on the weekend and would not even seek this place out on the weekdays. I wonder if the chef changed because the food was just so mediocre compared to before. The portions are very large so if that is of interest, they have that in spades. And the flannel hash was outstanding. So if you find yourself here, definitely order that. I hope a revamp is done on the food. If so, I would come again as the patio is absolutely lovely.
