A slightly mysterious perch in an office building on a quiet street of Lower Manhattan is a fitting locale for a homage to the shayar of shayars. Rumi once said to love the jeweler and not the gem, so what to write about the chaiwala when the chai was a bit thin? I love Kashmiri chai, noon chai, gulabi chai - whatever you want to call it. But it could have used a bit more in spices perhaps - for now, the (quite pricey) version at the Chai Spot remains my favorite in the city.

I'm half Iranian so any spot that highlight Iranian poetry and has some old school rugs inside is my JAM. Had this purpley drink with glitter inside. Not sure what it was but had this super refreshing lemon juice in it with slight sweetness. Loved it! Paired it with a simple turkey sandwich and it was heaven.

Maybe I'm not a proper chai person so take this review with a grain of salt! I like my chai with a lot of flavor so was disappointed that this was pretty light. It basically tasted like milk sprinkled with spices and a little bit of rose.... And it cost $7. The service was really friendly and there's a cute little seating area to the right if you want to hang out for a bit.

Had an amazing latte with saffron and rose flavors - very unique and rich. And the ambience was authentic and cozy. It felt like being in a tea house and an escape from the city! Will definitely come back

I wanted to shake up my usual coffee spot when I work in office and stopped in this place I saw on TikTok. It steps away from Wall Street but ticket in a building lobby so it's not the easiest to find but you can get in from either surrounding block. I ordered the baklava latte with oat milk hot and really loved it. Very almond-y in taste. There was only one gentleman working so it did take a little longer than expected but I wasn't in a rush and for how delicious the drink was it is worth the wait. Will definitely stop in again! Love the rumi quote on the coffee sleeve as well, a wonderful start to my morning

I had the Dubai chocolate latte, seasonal right now, and it was so amazing, the flavors were out of this world, the pistachio topping with the cream vanilla. It's been a long time since I've had such a perfect coffee made. And the service, amazing, Great conversation and told me about all the other drinks. Will definitely be back.

Cute and cozy...not watered down but the real deal. Don't expect to sit too long inside unless it's empty...it's a lovely cultured calm place in a very hectic part of fidi. Kashmiri chai was authentic with whole milk pistachio and the flavors. Rich and decadent.

New coffee shop located in the lobby of 30 Broad Street! I got an iced rose latte, which was refreshing and not too sweet. Despite it being a Tuesday morning in FiDi, the service was quick. The baristas at the cafe were also very nice and welcoming. The person in front of me in line had a large order and someone from the cafe offered to carry and deliver the order with her. I got whole milk but for those that prefer other options, they have half&half, cream, and almond milk options available for free. Will definitely be back to try some of their pastries and other drinks.

the bagels are really good get a sesame or everything bagel toasted with cream cheese and you got a filling cheap ($4.75) meal. The service is pretty cool and the workers are friendly and know how to speak to someone. The area is nice too with Persian carpets and it's in a nice quiet place.

    The cutest interior!

I have to say this is the genuinely best karak (AKA strong) chai I've had in the tri-state area so far - it's DELICIOUS. Such a true "tea" flavor that feels like a warm hug - love the cardamom. The fact that I can have it non-dairy is the best part - I got mine with almond milk and it was rich and perfectly (not overly) sweet. They also have oat and macadamia milk. The tea is made to order and you can really taste the difference! Both the gentleman and the lady working here are incredibly kind. The interior and overall Rumi aesthetic is so beautiful. The furniture and decor were made to order from Turkey. Seating is minimal as it's a small space but super cozy and inviting. It can be a little hard to locate but there are signs outside that say "cafe rumi". Definitely a must try in Fi-Di.

Oh my gosh this place is such a find! Absolutely fantastic barista, totally helped me select a chai from their list of five. Landed on the Kashmini, on the recommendation of the barista. It's pink, which is just so beautiful, and which I'm told is the result of oxidation of the spices when boiled. Crushed pistachio on top was unfamiliar to me but it is absolutely perfect. I had milk and sweetener added and I am afraid that I might be addicted after just one. Little twinkle lights off the street in the financial district is charming and somewhat incongruous to the surrounding financial district, and I love them for it. Interior is tiny with just a a few low benches and some small high tops, a little tucked-away secret spot. Definitely try.

Cute little new cafe in FiDi, very charming! Loving their Halloween decor at the moment. We ordered Rose Apple Cider and Baklava Latte, both of which were delicious! Rose flavored drinks can be hit or miss, but this one was definitely a hit, as the rose flavor was strong enough without being either pungent or artificial. The Baklava Latte was also a spot on interpretation of the dessert as a coffee, without being overly sweet.

The cookie I was most excited for was the corn cookie and the chocolate chip also looked really good. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed by the black & white cookie because for some reason I thought it was a chocolate cookie with white chocolate chips, but it was actually just a regular cookie with black and white chips lol. The cookies themselves were really solid though. Nice light crisp around the edges with a chewy center without being overly gooey or underbaked. Definitely on the thicker side too, which I liked. Next time I'll have to try one of their espresso drinks!

The Jeju Green Tangerine Matcha honestly just tastes like a tangerine selter drink but in the best way, because I don't typically enjoy seltzer or carbonated beverages. I really enjoy the flavor and the carbonation isn't too strong, probably because I brought it home to drink. I don't really taste the matcha but I would definitely still order this again. 2. Matcha Einspanner. This is my first time having an Einspanner so I have no idea what I was expecting but this is DELICIOUS. It's so silky and smooth and the TASTE is just right up my alley. The matcha is light but you can still taste it. Absolutely, would drink this all the time if I could. 3. Purple Sweet Potato Latte. This. This. Omg, why haven't I tried this sooner?! The first sip and initial taste, I almost tasted nothing, just milk. And then all of a sudden, there's an explosion of flavor in your mouth. As a sweet potato lover, I was in heaven. I have absolutely no words for this drink, just try it. 100/10 recommend. This is probably my favorite one out of the 3 that I bought. I went around ... 2:45PM on a Friday and most of the seats were taken, if I remember correctly. There were a decent amount of seats and the space was decent. I liked the minimal aesthetic they had for the design of the interior. Not to forget, the staff at the register was absolutely wonderful, she answered all my questions, she's so sweet. I think I'm disappointed that I haven't tried this place sooner. Y'all get out of your comfort zone and try the Purple Sweet Potato Latte !! Or if not, just try this place out. I will definitely be recommending the Purple Sweet Potato Latte to all my family and friends.

I ordered an iced matcha einspanner ($6.95) with oat milk ($0.75) and loved that it already comes with a shot of espresso, so it was essentially a dirty matcha einspanner. I tried each layer on its own before mixing everything together and it was all really good. The matcha cream is the right amount of sweet and creamy and you can taste the matcha with just a hint of coffee. Since I'm a coffee fiend I added a bit more espresso when I got back to the hotel and it tasted even better while still keeping the matcha as the dominant flavor. Next time I would ask for less ice since it was freezing that morning, but on a warmer day the ice level would be perfect. Would love to come back to try their other drinks or order the einspanner again as a hot drink.

Walking the streets close to my hotel I stumbled across a big PuertoRican flag infront of a…read morebusiness and I knew I wanted to check out what it was. It happened to be 787 Coffee which I have visited plenty of times on the island and enjoy. With excitement and in Spanish I tell the cashier that I was happy to come across this place as I have tried them out in PR. How is it that this "jibara" apparently from Maricao, spoke to me in broken English while I am talking to her in our native language, total fail. Anyhow, I ordered the coquito hot latte with an extra shot of rum and oat milk, fine, I paid $11 for a very small coffee. Now what I can't believe is that the quesito pastry was $8. I really wanted it but it was not until I paid that I then noticed the price. I sat to eat it while I waited for my name to be called as mentioned by the cashier. I walked around looking at everything, the music very loud and hard for people sitting to have conversations, the place is very colorful and with many PR sayings, however the place also feels very Americanized with the music and layout. I still awaited my name to be called minutes later, but nothing. I approached the cashier, who was just standing there, to ask about my coffee and she wasn't able to tell me so she asked the barista steps away from her. He pointed to a cofre sitting on their counter, it had my name, and when I pointed out that I was waiting for my name to be called, she shrugged her shoulders and smiled like she didn't care. The coffee by now was not all that hot, I never tasted any rum or coquito flavor and felt I wasted my time at this place. What's more upsetting is that I left a nice tip for a service that was not provided. They couldn't even bring the coffee ti my table once they realized it was sitting there and they forgot to call my name. You can find better service elsewhere.
